But for a florist with such high ratings it's shocking this went out. I even upgraded to the medium tier Premium arrangement (+$10). Aside from the poor quality of the arrangement, they almost never answer the phone. For online orders they charge an additional $10 Wire charge. read more

Very disappointed; flowers by cina did our wedding last weekend and the flowers were not what we had discussed. We had banquet tables and at our mock trial, specifically had 3 oval flower arrangements for each table giving it a continuous look. On wedding morning they delivered round flower arrangements that we specifically said we did not want many times. She explained that they needed to make round arrangements for transportation so the flowers would not break- never heard of an excuse like that. To remedy the situation, the team tried to spread out the flowers and make the arrangements more oval shaped- still did not look good- i was looking so forward to the flowers and thought they would be the best part of the wedding for the money I spent, but they were the worst. read more

Hubsters decided not to go to his normal shop but stopped by here instead to get a bouquet of flowers for my Birthday on his way to surprise me at work. The hubsters being a artist decided on designing his own creation of the perfect blend of colors and petals and had the florist put them all together wrapped in a beautiful blue mesh securing it with a purple ribbon. Although the picture is hard to visualize the actual presentation, the creation was beautiful and all my co workers and students agreed. He said the shop located on Chapman was small like really small, so small you can zoom by it a hundred times and not realize its there. Its located in a small strip mall across from The Promenade/movies. He said the lady working was really nice. She was very knowledgeable with pairing of flowers and the right settings. On the day of the wedding, she delivered all of the flowers promptly and decorated our venue so beautifully. I was introduced to Melissa by my wedding planner, Evelynn, who only had the most amazing things to say about her and the Flowers by Cina staff. Up until my wedding, I had zero experience with flowers and really only knew that my favorite flower was an orchid. That being said, I really needed to trust my planner and my florist when it came to not only the flowers, but the design of the event. When I first met with Melissa, she was totally receptive to my vision and gave really great insight and I totally felt as though I was in good hands. Unfortunately, over the 6 months between my first meeting with her and our mock-up a few weeks before the wedding, I had spent a little too much time on pinterest and I had come up with a new vision in my head for the florals. So, of course, even though Melissa had executed EXACTLY what I had wanted 6 months prior, I threw a curve ball at everyone and asked if we could change things up. Flowers by Cina is an imaginative respite from the 'norm' flower shop, with an owner/designer who truly gets it. As a frequent customer, I've had Flowers by Cina decorate hotel rooms, fill ballrooms and bedeck restaurants for demanding and savvy corporate clients--always to rave reviews. I've personally supervised design and install with multiple staff members who are unfailingly pleasant and genuine. While I usually have an idea of what I want initially, the collaboration is always great and expert, and we always come up with designs that take guests' breath away. I am not kidding when I say that Flowers by Cina is my secret weapon. Shhh! In other reviews, folks say they've had trouble ordering online, and I'll just say this: ordering flowers online is like buying a used car in the dark. If it's important enough to you that it be done right, take the time to talk to one of the staff in person, pick out a few stems you like, and have an honest conversation about your expectations. But do not expect an exact replica of those thumbnail images that FTD provides if that's the design you set your heart on--know that they pull all the blooms to the front with every styling trick in the book. Instead, have some imagination and let the designers at FbC do what they do best--you'll be all the better represented for it when the flowers arrive at their destination. I speak from repeated experience. Whenever I visit their small retail location, I'm blown away how such a compact space supports a team that is as full-service and active as they are. Weddings at the Montage Laguna, Ritz-Carlton banquets, Nixon Library shindigs--they handle it all without batting an eyelash. It's amazing to me that they can prep for a 2000-guest wedding while still taking orders from nervous teenagers buying their first corsages. In this way, Flowers by Cina truly succeeds at bridging the gap between corporate-only taste level and scale, and neighborhood flower shop friendliness and attention to detail.
