Diego is freakin' amazing! When I found out that my brother in law & (now) sister in law got married TODAY Diego was the only florist that would even consider delivering same-day. He was so incredibly nice on the phone and didn't act like I was unreasonable for asking/ offering to pay a surcharge for the 3:30pm lofty request. I'm equally impressed that he didn't try to jack up the price -- which was extremely reasonable -- for 18 roses and delivery. What a class act! I will definitely be using this florist again!!! I know this business as "D's Flowers, Gifts, & More". I first used them back in July, 2011 when I stumbled across a coupon for their shop. Good thing for the coupon because I was originally going to purchase from a much more expensize shop down the street that had no customer service skills at all. I used this shop because I was originally looking for flowers for my parents 50th wedding anniversary party but after seeing their balloon decor samples, I had to go with that. They have beautiful arrangements styles that seemed so impossible to do. This is a small shop but don't let that fool you. They are a family own business and are very experienced and a joy to talk to. They made me feel at ease as I am one who can't make a decision. Bless them for putting up with me as I kepted changing my mind. I went with the balloon columns and arch with the "50" in the middle. I even requested to make a display near where I will put my quests seating arrangements and favors at the entrance to the hall. Diego (the son) helped me with my vision by drawing up my request and it was great. Day of the party, I was excited to see how great everything came out. Really made the party place even more beautiful. The price was pretty average as those balloon columns are not easy to make or to deliver for that matter. All our guests were in awe on how beautiful everything came out. Yes, I recommend this place for their great customer service and family, friendly outmosphere. On Saturday I received a bouquet from this florist from my brother who lives in Washington state. It is now 6 days later that I am writing this review and not one flower, including the roses has even a hint of wilting. I had never heard of this florist till my bouquet was delivered, but I am very impressed with the quality of flowers that I received. I warn that this review is long, because there aren't enough words in the world to sing praise to Diego. But I encourage you to read through my wonderful experience with him, if you're looking to make a decision on wedding floral arrangements. Diego (D's Flowers) was a recommendation from one of my bridesmaids who had used him for her own wedding last year. My husband and I had been looking at a few other florists and were pretty outraged at the cost of flowers that would only be used once! My bridesmaid had mentioned that Diego had given her a great price on her flowers so we decided to check him out. Wow. Forget the flowers - meeting Diego alone was enough for us to say, "yes, do our flowers"! Diego has this amazing personality that just hooks you in from the moment you meet. During our first appointment, he asked us what we were looking for (as other florists had done). BUT THEN he went on to create mock bouquets right there in front of us so that we could get an idea visually of what the bouquets would look like. Other florists had done nothing of the like! Other florists said, "ok you want hydrangeas and roses... Ok I'll get you a quote in a week". NOT DIEGO. Diego took the time to show us different options and sizes, and even spray painted some white roses for us during our appointment to get to the color of blush that was just right and what I was looking for. Lastly, when Diego made a mock of my bouquet I thought it was too small. He took a picture of me holding it to show how big it actually was. From my view/perspective the bouquet seemed so small, but seeing the picture surprised me. Any other florist would have said, "Ok, you want it that big? Done.". For another florist it would've been an opportunity for more money. But for Diego it wasn't about the money. It was about his customer being satisfied; and he knew his customer wouldn't be satisfied with a bouquet that was wider than her shoulders! Initially my husband didn't care much about choosing flowers, arrangements, and vases. But by the second appointment, when Diego received the flowers he ordered for us and made a mock centerpiece arrangement, my husband was completely on board and making changes and additions right along with me. And that's another thing, we changed our mind a few times and Diego went right along with it. Because he's an expert, he also made several suggestions that we took advantage of. The day before the wedding Diego texted me pictures of the bouquets so that I could approve or make any changes if I needed to. No changes were needed because they were perfect. Diego had taken so many notes during our appointments that he arranged everything EXACTLY as we had talked about. The day of the wedding was even more than perfect. He personally delivered the bouquets to the hotel we were staying at in downtown Chicago, and then went to setup at our venue in Schaumburg. It was breathtaking. It was better than I could have dreamed. Seeing all of the arrangements put together in our ballroom took a second to start breathing again because it was just so stunning. If anyone has been able to get this far down on my review, thanks. By the end of it all we paid probably a third of what we would have paid if we had gone with another florist. If you are looking for anything negative, there is NOTHING. Diego did everything and more, flawlessly. Go meet Diego because he will blow you away! Thank you Diego! I met Diego at a bridal show in Naperville that I decided to go to 30 minutes before the show was over.. This was my 2nd bridal show and I felt I was seeing the exact same things as I did before.....more floral companies with more brochures. Representatives that were only there to set up appointments and couldn't answer any questions about actual products. Displayed nothing that actually "wow"ed me. Diego's booth was the last booth on the way out and it immediately caught my attention. He had full floral displays with LED lights, candles, and all kinds of sparkly things. There was a crowd around the table so I wrote my contact information down and continued to admire the display while waiting to speak with Diego. While I was waiting his mother came and gave me the biggest, healthiest rose I'd ever seen. When I had my venue and colors coordinated I met with Diego. As we went over my ideas he made mock ups of everything so I could have a visual representation of what everything would look like and I got to take them home with me. He gave quality suggestions after listening to what I wanted. After he gave me my quote he encouraged me to visit other florists. No one compared to Diego. Some companies asked questions like "oh they have gold diamond wrap". Really??? When I'm frustrated because I feel like I'm not being listened to I can have the biggest blank look on my face so some florists even tried to read my expression and offer "lower cost alternatives" even though their suggestions weren't anywhere near the vision I just spent 30 minutes explaining!!!!!! That's a huge no no with me. Don't try to guess what you think I can afford and prove that you're not listening to a thing I'm saying! Truth be told, every time they quoted me a price I was thinking "man please...Diego charges way less than that and his looks better". And no other company made a mock up of anything for me to see. The closest thing I had was a florist pull up some pictures online (that wasn't even their work). In the end, Diego's quote was 1/3 of what other vendors were trying to charge. After signing the contract I had more design changes. He encouraged me to come in every time so I could see what it would look like. Every time I went in I brought someone new with me. All of my friends are in love with Diego and will be using him in the future for whatever they need. They've nicknamed him "The Team's florist" because he's already booked for their future weddings in their minds lol. The day of my wedding was absolutely gorgeous. All of my flowers had all kinds of diamonds and glitter all over with no fillers. My bouquet was HUGE....just the way I like it. The service and the flowers far exceeded my expectations and I look forward to doing more business with Diego in the future. read more
