Wow! I am blown away with how fantastic this grooming experience was. Rachel was extremely warm and great to work with and Kana is so talented! I have an 11 year old shih-tzu/poodle mix who suffers from IVDD. Needless to say, she is a very needy dog to groom. She does not stand for very long and has matting around her legs. God awful trim, first and last time here. Our dog has matted hair so we were told they had to shave him down close to the skin. Shaving is something anyone with clippers can easily perform (I say this because we bought some pretty expensive clippers and have done quite a few cuts ourselves), yet they completely botched the job and our dog's hair looks incredibly uneven. For the minimal amount of effort they put in (easiest trim as it was 80-90% just shaving) they had the guts to charge us extra for de-matting (we even inquired about the cost before handing over our dog and the owner plainly said don't worry) - their so called de-matting is once again minimal effort, maximum charges. If you're going here for the first time I strongly suggest getting the all the details straight (cuts, charges etc.), or you might walk out sorely disappointed and feeling defrauded. read more

I think my dog loves this place more than home to be honest... all I have to do is ask him if wants to go to daycare and he's tugging his leash off the wall and hurling himself in front of the door ready to go play with his buds. The staff is always so polite/friendly, and they keep the space clean/tidy and make sure the dogs have fresh water and enough "resting" time when they get too excited. Makes me feel much better about handing him off so he isn't home alone while my husband and I are at work... :) I have not used their overnight boarding services yet- but I love the set up and would be more than happy to let Pickle try it out. Also love the easy access off of 101- but be warned there is construction on the road directly in front of the building currently... you can still access though- just note you'll have to go around the block if you end up on a street without through access (not a big deal- it's like an extra 30 seconds in the car). read more

This place is prime example of damn good taking care of dogs. I brought my Maltese in for a grooming and he's usually bawling from anxiety. Because they let the dogs walk around the facility, as I left, I spotted my dog roaming with nothing but sheer happiness. The employees were very nice, especially shayla. My only qualm was that my dog came back looking pretty ugly. Actually pretty hideous. I asked for a puppy cut and he now looks like some terrier/ chihuahua mix (albeit an ugly one). I was excited for the owner Rachel to cut him but someone else did him even though I signed up for Rachel. I wish they informed me of this change and asked me if I was okay with the hair cut. Bailey, my 5-month mini dachshund, has been going here for over a month and has absolutely adored it. I was looking for a doggy daycare facility that was close by, safe, and convenient. This nailed it on the head! I had called in to see when Bailey could get her temperament tested and she was able to get in the next morning. What I loved about this is that the employees got to know her and how she interacted with others. With the temperament test, the five consecutive days of daycare is free for the dog to get acclimated. It's safe to say it was a hit! We now pay for the monthly pass that's roughly $580 a month, where she can go at any time from 7 AM - 7 PM on weekdays and 9 AM - 5 PM on weekends to be with her pals. Every single morning, she runs to the front door, into the office, and into the arms of the employee at the front desk. Huge shoutout to the team for realizing when the vet didn't remove all her stitches from her spay. In regards to boarding, I also can't say enough! This was Bailey's first time and I felt that she would feel most at home here since she was already going to daycare. I was right! My favorite part of boarding is that the dogs aren't in cages but instead sleep in the living room above on their own beds with other dogs and people around. She ate the five days she was there and slept with the people who were watching her. Lastly, Fluffy Doggy has a live camera where you can watch your dog play the majority of the day. We used to take our dog to PetSmart to get groomed, but after our favorite groomer left, we decided it was time for a change. It was very easy to request an appointment through their website, and I got a response within a few hours. I was even able to get an appointment the next day. Our dog hadn't been groomed in awhile, so we were a bit nervous about taking her in. But everyone at Fluffy Doggy was really nice, and they took care of everything in about two hours (PetSmart used to take anywhere from three to four hours). The result was a perfectly groomed dog! We'll definitely be back. The surrounding area doesn't look like much, but the interior makes you feel comfortable right away. This is a long overdue review. Our dog used to go to Fluffy Doggy as a puppy and was treated so well by their awesome staff (who always looked so pleased to see him). Our dog would practically jump from the car when we would pull over outside Fluffy Doggy. But we moved a bit further away from the area and then the pandemic happened so it was almost two years before our dog could set foot in Fluffy Doggy again. We used another doggy day care in the interim but our dog never warmed up to them. We started sending him to Fluffy Doggy these past few weeks and he couldn't be happier. Guess what! The staff still remembered him after all this time! With a dog who has separation anxiety and is a master escape artist, I've dealt having to take my Tako to daycare in three different states (WA, FL, CA). Fluffy Doggy is by far the most personable, family oriented daycare I've ever been to and I've tested and attended over 10 daycares. I've also worked at a doggy daycare myself so you can take my word for it!! The customer service is outstanding. Rachel, Wendy, Rachel's parents and the other staff members are always so nice to me and loving to Tako. Out of all the daycares that I've tried with Tako this is the only that he's actually excited to go to. When we turn onto the street he starts ramping himself up with excited noises and goes absolutely nuts when we pull into the driveway. It's the only daycare where he's been more excited to go in and play with his friends than he is to say goodbye to me - usually he fights and pulls at his leash trying to leave with me but not at Fluffy Doggy - he goes right in with barely a glance at me. Though the facility is quaint and smaller than other facilities, don't be discouraged, your dog will get plenty of exercise - Tako is pooped when he gets home! I love the fact that they take their dogs on walks and play ball and personally interact with the dogs all day long, treating them like their own - unlike some places where dogs are periodically left alone for long amounts of time to entertain themselves. This facility is also CLEAN. It NEVER smells like dog pee or poop and is spotless always!! This is a fast growing new business that will love and care for your dog like family. I took a chance on Fluffy Doggy because it was located so conveniently in San Mateo where I work and live. It's also right off the freeway taking Poplar from the north and/or 3rd from the north or south. There are no other daycares between South San Francisco and Redwood City so Fluffy Doggy is definitely filling a MUCH needed gap in services and they do so exceptionally well! Tako goes here every day during the week and sometimes even on weekends. It's also very conveniently located near both a VCA vet (Tako's vet) and an emergency vet should anything ever happen - which it won't because the employees at Fluffy Doggy are the best!! Just picked up my Ruby from here and she had a wonderful 6 night stay. They treated her well. She had lots of fun with all the other dogs. Ruby has stayed at other doggy hotels in the area and she ends up spending most of the time in a kennel or you end up paying a ton of money for them to play with your dog extra. All I asked was to see the photos of the area that she is going to sleep because she is scarred of small crates. The owner called me and attacked me with her words and said that I was asking for too much. I never been disrespected that much. This is a grooming review - I usually get our Portie groomed at the Fluffy Doggy down Broadway in Burlingame but they were full and said the same groomers work here. It is a random location (not the best area and by 101) but the inside was clean and renovated. Overall a great price ($100 including tip) and they did a great job. Minus one star because they chopped his tail short - and after 13 years of grooming I have never seen anyone do that. Portie's are supposed to have a pouf at the end of the tail and it was like that when I dropped him off. They did call to apologize but now I have to wait for his tail to grow back. read more

John Hansen & team are by far the best groomers in the Bay Area!! They love and care for the dogs and are very patient with them. We have a 1 yr old cockapoo that unfortunately had some bad grooming experiences and my friend recommended John -- she takes her two doodles there -- and decided we'd give him a try. Just left this Fluffy Doggy in San Mateo and didn't get the services we had booked. Had an appointment for our two small dogs. One of our dogs had already been to the Fluffy Doggy in Burlingame and we had awesome results there. I experienced the opposite from their sister store in San Mateo. Walked inside and wasn't even greeted with a basic hello, smile or welcome. No joke. In general I didn't find there to be any real warmth or eagerness on behalf of the staff to connect with a first-time customer. It was more than someone not saying hello. So Strike 1 for poor customer service skills. Strike 2 is when the groomer comes over, also doesn't say hello, doesn't smile, not really friendly. Seems to know his grooming technique while we were talking but his overall vibe was a huge turn off. Another red flag. Strike 3 is when both of our dogs are being lead back to get groomed. Out of the left corner of the door this giant dog looms over my two small dogs - who are quite visibly frightened. Both of our dogs are under 15 lbs and have been attacked by larger dogs. *What kind of an introduction is this to two small dogs already stressed out by being in a strange, new environment? I immediately inform the staff that I don't feel comfortable with this setup. I feel like this misstep is especially sloppy and disorganized. Instead of any kind of apology the groomer tries to "school me" that it is a daycare and that there's larger dogs walking around and that I would experience the same wherever I went basically. Not true. I understand this is a full service facility. I've taken our dogs to several daycares and groomers in the past. I have volunteered at shelters and have a certificate in Pet First Aid and CPR. I'm not an novice. So yeah, instead of trying to soothe a first time customer they treat them like there's something wrong with them. Smh. Also, if I'm going to be spending close to $150 after tip to get my two dogs groomed at the very least I need there to be a certain level of professional service, warmth and care. This place doesn't cut it for me. read more

Please Beware. Our dog was at Fluffy dog for 30 hours and he became extremely sick. We were on vacation and calling to check on him but no one returned our calls for the first 24 hours. I sent a friend in to check on him and she took him to the vet right away because there was something evidently wrong with him. Our dog was admitted to the pet hospital for 3 days and saw the vet 3 times prior to being admitted to the pet hospital. Our vet and the pet hospital said that he could not return to Fluffy Dog. Fluffy Dog was paid for 10 days and refused to refund. They later offered a partial refund if we signed a waiver releasing them of liability because their main concern was not being held accountable for our dog's illness. Fortunately our dog survived his stay at Fluffy Dog after intensive veterinary care. Please Beware. read more

We have been to Fluffy doggy in Burlingame since 2015 when we first got our dog. Her paws are super sensitive and she cries a lot during grooming season. But the staff at Burlingame location has been take care of her with lots of love and patience. We moved to east bay last year. Since it's almost an hour drive, we decided to try some local groomers with really good yelp reviews. But never turned out well. Either she came home looking bald or we found that her skin got cut after we left the groomer. So we started to go back to Fluffy doggy. We are happy that they opened this new location. I have been taking my medium sized labradoodle to Fluffy Doggy since the beginning of 2017 in the Burlingame location and have been really happy with the way she gets cut by Antonio. He does a great job and my biggest issues with previous groomers were her being so fearful to enter the groomers or they make her look like a poodle. She's always okay going to the groomers since I've started taking her to fluffy doggy and she doesn't look like a poodle when I pick her up! Also, price is reasonable - for a full bath and grooming that takes about 2.5 - 3 hrs, price comes to $85 (without tip yet). I saw they recently opened a second location and today took her there to get cut by Antonio. It's a big area for doggy daycare and there were quiet a few dogs playing when I went in. From a super picky pawrent. Grooming: If you have a teddy bear dog, Rachel is really good at grooming them. Most places would give my dog a helmet cut around his face but not Rachel. It's amazing what a great haircut can do for a little dog, just like people. Daycare/boarding: My pup Mimo had a bad experience at a playgroup at 6 months and became rather shy in group play settings. I've tried taking him to several other doggy daycare and he just didn't seem very happy or comfortable. I decided to try Fluffy Doggy daycare since he was already getting groomed by Rachel. I am so happy I did, Mimo absolutely loves it there. The attention from the staff must have helped bring out his confidence. He's now so comfortable, he's even able to play with larger dogs. Whenever we get to the daycare, he practically wants to jump out of the car 'cause he's so excited. Another thing you'll notice the moment you walk in the door. There is NO ODOR!
