There are some cozy couches and tables here and there among the stacks of books. I suppose you could take your cup of coffee and curl up on a couch or chair, because I saw one person doing that. But mostly: This is a bookstore, not so much a coffee shop or place to lounge. So I wouldn't visit with the intention of posting up and working for a few hours. This doesn't seem like that kind of place. Again, it's a bookstore first, a coffee shop second, a place to lounge third. Although The Press is a small bookstore, it has a nice children's section, with lots of books for kids and even graphic novels (my personal favorite). There is something for everyone here.

Haven't been to this location in a while but wanted to try it again. It feels like a totally different experience than what I had last time, and for the better. I was welcomed warmly, and treated like gold, everyone very friendly. A girl there working with dark hair recommended me a pourover coffee, and I'm glad I got that instead of the drip coffee because it made a huge difference. It was served with a sidecar of their house blend, to compare. My food was walked out to me and was delicious and fresh, I recommend the protein bowl. The music was bumping and really set the vibes in there, punk and high energy. I don't know what changed there recently, but I will be back if this is the experience every time. Fluid is an amazing coffee place with probably the coolest vibes of any shop I've been to. I always get a little too excited when i'm there because the decorations are killer and more often than not they play music that I love (so I'm always sitting there saying "i love this song!" ever few minutes". The Beetlejuice drink is to die for (haha, get it?) When I went yesterday, a worker named Carter helped me out, and he was seriously awesome. He was super chill. He actually was sweet enough to let my girlfriend and I sit inside still, despite the fact that it was about 10 minutes to closing, since my car broke down and we needed to wait for rides. overal, an amazing experience read more

Fluid on lincolnway in downtown valpo is arguably the best café in the entirety of valpo. If you're looking for a calm study/work environment you're better off going to Fluid Bosco (Fluid South Valpo), but this one is an awesome spot for hanging out with friends and enjoying events, it has a darker edgier vibe. The staff are all super cool people and they're welcoming and open to everyone. The coffee is amazing as well, for hot I'd reccomend the Novus Ordo (tastes like those orange chocolate balls you get at Christmas) and for cold drinks I'd reccomend the iced Cosmic Coconut. read more

The entire crew at Fluid today, Sunday was awesome. New girl on register, was pleasant and smiled. Christina was so focused on getting all the drinks right, has a strong work ethic. Carter was greeting everyone, helping new girl, and making drinks. Kayley was dishing and kicking out food that was so good! I recommend the Keto Protein bowl made by Kayley when you are there. I highly recommend the fluid coffee bar in downtown valpo if you want to try a great new coffee place or just to get a bite to eat. The staff is very helpful and they always want you having the best of the best ! Carter is an employee there and he makes some of the best coffee... and he even remembers my order! Which is so sweet! I like that whenever I need some coffee, whether waking up or at a convention in NWI, I have Fluid around. The one just down the road from me Aldo happens to have the best barista I've ever had, Reagan. She excitedly promotes new flavors to try and always follows up with me on if I liked it or not. Even the couple of times I didn't like a flavor, she managed to tweak it a little to fit my preference. Thank you for being in my life fluid! read more

Our matcha and lattes were amazing!! Jordan and JoJo gave us a warm welcome and helped us out when we didn't know what to order!! This was our first time going to Fluids new location on Lincolnway (across from Central Park plaza) and there is a lot more seating and lighting! Will definitely be coming more often :) read more

The go-to place for a handcrafted coffee (or tea) beverage in the Region. Carter was super helpful in deciding what to drink. I highly recommend the Fluid latte, if you like maple. Carter was really friendly and quick with my order. I normally grab a voodoo but he recommended a doncaster and i loved it.
