    Cumulus Matcha

Went here to have their IG worthy Cumulus Matcha. Man this matcha was perfect. It had a nice sweetness but not too sweet. it had a nice thick foam and had a coconut twist. Definitely worth trying if you like Matcha. Come early as they close at 5pm

Quick little breakfast spot in Ballantyne! The burrito was honestly the perfect amount of food and the hot sauce that comes with it complimented it so well. It was very crowded so we did have to wait a little for the burrito, but not too long. Only thing I would recommend is more outdoor, shaded seating.

I was so happy to be in the area to check this spot out! Great customer service and they were super busy! The fellow that greeted us was super nice and energetic. Their menu was simple and he offered great recs. I tried the matcha latte with vanilla and almond milk. It was pretty good. I love their brand in and colors, it's just fun. I would come back here when I'm in the area again!

I have been here twice now and both times the service was very quick and friendly. Unfortunately, the breakfast burrito leaves much to be desired. It seemed too...wet? The bacon was hardly cooked. This may be my personal preference, but I did not want to eat it. My iced vanilla latte tasted pretty good, but I wish there were more flavor options.

Nice, convenient spot for tasty coffee & tea drinks. I really enjoyed my iced cumulus, with matcha, cold foam, and... something blue. The matcha flavor could have been a bit stronger, but overall very drinkable. There is some seating inside, although on a nice day most folks take their drinks outside. I didn't realize they'd write my name on my cup. Otherwise, I would have made sure they had the correct spelling. I would have appreciated if they'd asked me how to spell it. Limited food options (pastries, breakfast burrito), but PopUp Bagel is just across the lawn, so it's easy enough to go get that.

Stopped by this location for the first time today. It's located in the Bowl. The spot was nicely decorated and made great use of the limited space. There's a good number of seating and standing area given the small space. They also have coffee beans and merch for sale. Service was great. The cashier recommended one of the special cold brews with foam and it wasn't too sweet. Would come back.

Went here since it was on my way home from running errands. I had their cumulus drink and it was really delicious. Definitely can taste a lot of the coconut. I am a huge matcha fan so I'm glad I was able to try this out. The service is good. It is in a busy area so hard to find parking sometimes. The ambiance, look their blue aesthetics. Really goes well with their drinks.

I think the best part about Fly Kid Fly is the location. Walking around the track at Ballantyne's backyard and stopping by for a Cumulus latte has become one of my favorite things to do! I love the matcha Cumulus latte, it's so pretty and tastes good too. I've been wanting to try one of their breakfast burritos. The line is usually out the door on the weekends and the interior is very small so it's best to grab a drink and go back outside. Big fan!

This was one of the best matches I've had in Charlotte. Although I don't live in the area I made an effort to try the most popular ones I could find and this one def lived up to the hype. Well balanced flavors and the coconut milk with spirulina gives the drink a smooth creamy flavor. The line wasn't long and my server took the time to tell me what drinks were sweet vs not. The overall vibe of the cafe is clean and I love how they really stick with the fly kid fly theme through the space. I appreciated how the theme is continued with how the cups are labeled fly "your name" fly. Very fun !

Such a cute coffee spot in a really neat area! My latte & bacon burrito were both equally delicious, made with love & care! Temperature was perfect. Friendly & efficient employees. Parking was a breeze, but it was also early on a Sunday morning. I imagine not the case otherwise. Prices are what you would expect, although the burrito was a bit pricey. I love the extra care with personalization of the orders & super cute branding.

I'm not from charlotte but love coming here whenever i'm in town. I always order the cumulus as my go to drink, it's so perfectly sweet and has a hint of coconut flavor which i love. I ordered a breakfast burrito which was pretty decent sized and super fast and filling. I would highly recommend! There's some seating on the inside but lots of seating outside

Such an amazing new coffee spot in Charlotte! The location is fantastic--Ballantyne finally has its own specialty coffee shop, and the whole area feels like a mini South End. The branding is on point--stylish, modern, and fun. The café itself is super inviting, with its bright yellow walls and blue accents that give off super cool vibes. The coffee is excellent. They use HEX beans, which I love, and the drinks are perfectly crafted with unique house flavors like ube cherry, orange cardamom, and blue spirulina--all balanced beautifully in sweetness. They also offer simple pastries like banana bread, muffins, and cookies, though I haven't had a chance to try them yet. One cool perk is their points system--it lets you earn free drinks faster than other coffee shops. Big kudos to the Ballantyne community for landing this incredible spot!

Coffee was great. Quite crowded on my visit, so order came out pretty slow. Pretty cramped store as well.

I know I made it look very pretty in my photos, but don't be fooled. Here is the complete review. We found the green tomatoes bland and appeared to have been frozen before being prepared. The "Gravy Train" with the mini biscuit was inedible. The gravy itself was OK. Nothing special, not one of the three were "great." But the mini biscuits were terrible, hard, dense chunks of dough. I ate one of them and discarded the rest. The "Chicken Ditch the Waffle" was equally terrible. Whatever they did to turn the biscuit into "fake" French toast is a 100% fail. They were as dense and unappealing as the mini biscuits. The chicken itself was fine. If I was only rating the chicken I'd probably give it a 3.5. The best dish was actually the "GOAT." It was served with a Standard biscuit which we thought was still too dense and dry. I recommend finding an independent restaurant that serves real, "from scratch" food. I should point out that the service crew in the dining room who delivered the food as well as provided cleanup and assistance, were exceptional. They were friendly, courteous, and focused on customer service. I'm sure they deserve more than they are being paid. It was obvious many of them were spanish-speaking immigrants. Not everyone in the restaurant treated them with the respect and gratitude they deserve. Here's the detail of our order from their menu. The waitress recommended the mimosa carafe since we were both ordering mimosas. They have the juice and champagne separate, and it's more than enough champagne. We were given more juice, too. We ordered the omelette. I added onions, peppers, smoked Gouda, and bacon to it. The Gouda set it off. It was delicious but could use more cheese on top or something. TN potatoes were flavorful and crispy enough. The toast was standard. My fiancé ordered the WWIII with chicken thigh. The waffle was okay. Nothing special, and the chicken was seasoned almost too much but was pretty good. Both paired well with the syrup. The music was great. Explicit but it was like they took my Spotify playlist and put in on the speaker. The waitress was fine. Wish she would've told us how much the mimosa carafe cost when she suggested it, but it was worth it. If we are in town again, we may go back.
