I'd probably give a 4.5 but still great place! The service is really good, there was a small misunderstanding on my part but they fixed the issue without problem. It's also a very big place with a huge menu. The catfish was really good and fried well. The frog legs were also delicious. The crawfish was seasoned well along with the corn and potatoes but the tails were pretty small. The price was good on them though. I'd highly recommend going here.

    * Very cool spot in the River Market district in Little Rock. Interior has fascinating decor of seafood and fishing memorabilia. Definitely adds to the unique vibe. * Food was really good! We got a lot of fried seafood items and it really hit the spot. The gator nuggets were especially interesting - like a mixture between swordfish and chicken. The frog legs were also tasty. The cocktail sauce was really good. And the grilled fish was a perfect complement to our otherwise fried meal. * Staff there was polite. Seating is also very spacious with three rooms of tables. Worth visiting if you're swinging through Little Rock and want some good no-nonsense seafood!

We walked past walls of fish and photos of people with caught fish and came to the back room where we got on a line to order. The menu is up on the wall. Everything looked delicious & was reasonably priced. There was an interesting mix of locals. The line to order moved very quickly, and our meal came out in minutes. We hen we l fly there was a line out the door. I ordered a bowl of seafood gumbo & 6 oysters on the half shell while my husband ordered an Oyster p'boy. There was a counter with soft drinks and condiments. The oysters were fresh huge and delicious. My gumbo had big pieces of fresh seafood, and a perfect kick..

The fish and shrimp is fabulous. The crawfish was not cooked with any seasoning. They shook some seasoning in them after they were boiled. I would not recommend the crawfish if you like them cooked with spice.

I'm a big fan of the Flying Fish Chain, and I've eaten in many of them. My favourite location in Downtown Memphis closed last year, and I was looking forward to my visit to the Little Rock area so I could dine in their location. This location, like the others, has the decor with photos of fish caught, celebrities and license plates hanging on the walls. Each time I visit a Flying Fish, I try to have something different from the menu. On this visit, I tried the Alligator Queso, a queso dish warmed and served with chunks of alligator with a side of tortilla chips. The challenge of eating this dish is to try to make the chips last before the Queso runs out. I also tried the Crawfish Chowder, a thick chowder full of potatoes, corn and pieces of Crawfish. This chowder is thick and hearty, and a bowl of it is a meal in itself. For my Main Course, I had a boiled platter with shrimp and snow crab, served with corn and new potatoes. The portions are half a pound of each, and when combined, make a good meal. The shrimp and crab taste fresh and are served with a side of melted butter for dipping. As always, a good meal for a good price, and I will be back at a Flying Fish again somewhere and sometime soon.

The seafood combo was amazing. Sausage had a kick to it, the crawfish was mild, the crab sweet and the shrimp on point!

The crawfish was terrible and unseasoned but the catfish and crawfish chowder was amazing! Staff were friendly and everything was well stocked and clean! They need to offer boil bag sauce for purchase

The line moved fast. You order and the buzzer they give you goes off when it's ready. IWe ordered oysters, oyster po-boy and gumbo to go with our beers. It didn't take long after ordering for it to be ready. It was awesome!

A must go to if you are ever Little Rock. The service was great and quick. At home feel in the restaurant and everyone is friendly. The food was really delicious. I had grilled trout, red beans and rice, and grilled vegetables. Side order of fried catfish. Everything was cooked to perfection.

I think I remembered coming here almost a decade ago and this was my second time returning. The fish was good and there a LONG line which means we were in the right place. They don't let you grab a table unless you order food which is helpful of the customers and their experience inside. The place was clean, quick and the menu options are almost endless which I wish I could order more but I'm only one person. I would like to try more things.

This was an accidental find. So we don't like to stop and use the facilities without at least buying something. So my wife grabbed us a two piece catfish and shrimp plate. We weren't hungry but still purchased. So glad we did. This was a great choice!! The fish was fried just right and all the way through!! Came with a couple of delicious hush puppies which brought it all together!! The people cooked everything fresh to order, so it came out piping hot. Not friendly people, but tolerable. So they could use some training from "HR" The interior was different with all of the talking trouts on the wall (none of them worked) and I thought the "liars wall" was cool. A place definitely worth trying if you're ever in downtown Little Rock, AR.

If you can get passed all the construction this is a great place for fried catfish and shrimp. A busy place but worth the wait.

Are the gator bites real gator and do they still serve up frog legs?

Just had the gator. Didnt think to ask if it was real. What else would it be? Crocodile? And frog legs are still on the menu.

Is the Wednesday catfish Buffett still available?

    Yes

Are mudbugs still available? I will be back later this week and hopefully they are still available. No answer on the phone.

There were about two days ago.

Funny, but right next door is a place that bills itself as great Cajun/Creole food, but the menu here easily showed itself as a great, if not better, option. We just stopped in for drinks, which they have an abundance of specialty cocktails that appear to change frequently on the blackboard, and really enjoyed them. So we wound up chatting with the friendly barkeep about the menu. He encouraged us to try the crab dip, and oh my, we are so glad he did! It is a very rich appetizer, but absolutely one of the best we've ever had. We are sorry that we had other commitments the evening we swung by, because as we saw other diners meals arriving, we knew we were missing something special. Next time for sure!!!

The shrimp and grits definitely lived up to its hype! I ordered the half order of shrimp and grits, the grits were perfectly made and also came with six of the most juiciest shrimps. The only thing that I would change about this dish is to either make it slightly cheaper, because it was pretty pricey for the small amount of food that you get, or there should be a little bit more grits. Other than that, the meal was great. The waitress that I had was very attentive and professional, she helped me with everything that I needed and was timely when it came to placing the order and serving food. The restaurant is in an easily located place with complimentary parking right across the street.

Pulling into the parking lot, we noticed that the parking lot had at least eight cars, leading us to believe that this restaurant was popular with the locals. Upon walking in, we were quickly seated by a host and shortly greeted by our server, Tylia, who promptly took our order and was just as prompt, if not quicker, with the delivery of our bags of shrimp boil! I ordered a custom bag of half a pound of shrimp with heads and sausage, which came with potatoes and a corn cob. My associates ordered the same, but with snow crab legs. It was all piping hot and delicious. I only left sausages in my bag, but only because couldn't eat any more! Tylia was very responsive to our needs, often checking in with us to ensure we were well taken care of. This also prompted us to order additional items, like bread sticks and a cheese cake! I took notice of the establishment, noting that it was clean and well lit. In the end, we left with warm hearts and extremely full bellies.
