The place inside is nice and a cool agave painting mural.... Location is really what makes this place savvy. I have to say i'm not really impressed with the food! The chips are only flavored with odd spices, maybe even cinnamon...but homemade. The only one good taco was the pork and watermelon. The carne asada was salty and the cheese dip was barely up to par...I don't know if this place is just regionally accommodating themselves as Oaxaca club in Jax beach is 100x better than this. I will not be returning here. I guess the alcohol bar makes up for the flavor oddities.

The margaritas were sooo good and such a steal with the holiday special! I am thankful that they were open on the 4th and allowed us to take our time with the menus and experience. The pork belly taco was glazed with Coca Cola or something like that which was different than I had ever had before but my favorite was the grilled shrimp taco. The table side guac was so tasty and obviously fresh. Super nice that they also have a gluten free menu available!

We did our girls night at Flying Iguana this week and it always is delicious. We split the table-side prepared guacamole and the crispy Brussel sprouts. What I love about the table-side preparation is that you can customize your guac to be exactly to your preference. We like more chunky with lots of tomato, onion, and jalapeño. I got the spice of life margarita (spicy marg, so delicious and definitely has some heat) and the pork belly taco and steak taco. The pork belly has a Coca Cola marinade or glaze that is so unique, and the taco comes with watermelon and yummy cheese on top. It's just so perfect in my eyes. I love how it's unique but still familiar tasting. The steak taco was also delicious especially the Pepitas on top. Our server Brad was super cool and attentive!

I was in the area of Neptune Beach today during dinner time so I decided to stop in here and grab some early dinner. I am so glad I did because everything tasted great. They have plenty of indoor, outdoor and bar seating. I was lucky enough to get one of the outdoor tables on this beautiful day. The menu offers plenty of great sounding drinks, appetizers, salads, and tacos. I started with the prickly pear frozen margarita. It looked and tasted great. I also decided to go with the blackened shrimp taco and the flying fish taco. I enjoyed them both but found the blackened shrimp taco to be a little bit tastier. Service was fairly quick.

Finally made it in here for dinner and I'm glad I did. The elote and the truffle fries were a fantastic way to start the meal. The watermelon drink I got was strong and tasty. The steak bowl was alright, I will be trying something different next time. A big tv and some little ones to catch sports games. Always smells delicious when you walk past too!

Sat at the bar, bar service was okay. Could have been better. I literally had to ask for every single thing. They have drink specials during hh. No food specials during hh. Bar backs and runners were friendlier and asked checked in more often. Nice restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Table side guacamole available. Food was good. This is one of my favorite spots in Neptune Beach. I always get the guac because they make it fresh in front of you and they have lots of yummy tacos to choose from. I recently got the brussels sprouts as an appetizer when I was there for happy hour and they were also very yummy. On top of that, Mondays they have six dollar house marks and there's some of the best marks I've had! I highly recommend this spot for happy hour or dinner with friends. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and the bar is first come first serve which I enjoy! My service is usually really good when I go and I'm always happy with my experience.

Flying Iguana is one of my favorite places to eat at the beaches. They have great chips and salsa, with two salsa flavors. You can also get super tasty guacamole made right at your table and customized to your preferences. I usually get a couple tacos, but my other favorite thing is their Ceviche de Pescado. All the flavors are delicious! They also make great drinks. My favorite is the Garden Margarita, which has muddled cucumber and cilantro in it. It's very fresh and a nice change from margaritas made with sour mix. You can make it a Spicey Garden, with a tajin rim and jalapenos. Or if you really like spicy, the Spice of Life is really good. I don't think I've ever had anything I don't like there, and we've been going for almost 10 years.

Great tacos and amazing tequila selection. Perfect choice for Taco Tuesday or anytime. Service is always friendly, and the atmosphere is very chill.

Definitely a nicer Mexican restaurant in terms of Mexican food. I got a skinny marg which was pretty good. Also got queso, guacamole, and salsa. The queso was my favorite out of the three. Surprisingly I preferred the dirty south taco and it didn't have meat but a fried green tomato instead. It was fresh out of the frier and phenomenal.

It was a mild day in August--really!! So we sat outside on the patio. We started with guacamole and chips. It was incredibly delicious. The chips had a nice spice on them and the guacamole was evenly balanced. Our server checked on us the right number of times. My husband ordered the pork dish. It was seasoned well. I had the chicken and rice bowl. The flavors were very authentic. It's a great place to get some fresh food that tastes good.

Friend, sis and I had lunch here before being dropped off at the airport. Thought we'd get a good, solid lunch in because we'd be missing dinner in the air. And we left with full tummies. Friend had been here before so she knew to order the table-side guac. It was a lunch rush with only one gal on guac duty. We saw her make guac for at least 5 tables before us. We tried to cancel the order since we waited for over 20 minutes and our entrees would be out soon, but we were next in line. So we got it but the waitress did comp it on the final bill, which was a nice gesture. Sal ordered a Crispy Pork Belly taco. It came with watermelon and she said it compliments well. I'll take her word for it. Sis ordered the Cubana Torta. It came with a salad. She liked the salad. Said it tasted like pickled cabbage. The sandwich meat was well flavored and juicy. Nice hints of mustard and pickles. Sometimes the mustard can overpower but this was balanced with the saltiness of the pork/ham. I ordered the Mexican Cheese Steak torte Torte. Bread was warm, toasted. Outside crusty but inside was soft. Great flavors that I can't remember but it was the best meal I had all weekend. I had the pablano peppers on the side and I'm glad I did. I could smell the spicy heat and it would have been too much fur my MN mouth. Fries were hot and lightly salted. I couldn't stop eating them so I had to throw the napkin over my plate. Out of sight, out if mind. The Flying Iguana was probably my favorite restaurant during my mid-Feb vacation. My hometown Mexican restaurants need to step up their game!!

Very impressed with the service in general on the 4th of July. I don't envy anyone that works on a holiday. But honestly props to the chef because this was a 10/10 steak quesadilla!! Didn't love the absurd amount of mayonnaise on the plate though, but I get that it was for decoration/plating.

At times the service felt a little rushed, which is why I gave it a 4/5, but nothing to deter me from going again. Atmosphere: 5/5 It is truly a beautiful restaurant. The décor, the lighting, the cultural aspects on the wall, the different sections of the restaurant...all really contribute to a vibrant and authentic experience. They've recently expanded as well, and I was blown away. Value: 4/5 This is truly an experience. The pricing can be a little pricey, but I believe it is worth it. The flavor combos in the volcano dish were so wonderful. It was like chips and dip. I was most excited for my meal. The pesto pasta with the hanger steak. EVERY.THING.WAS.AMAZING in this dish. And this was an elevated s'mores like I never had before. The presentation was WOW. The smore was in a bag that they lit on fire at the table. The fire charred the marshmallow on top perfectly. The Carmel on top of the delegate shortbeard was melt in your mouth. Those shortbeard cookies were incredible. Buttery and crumbly. Perfect. I enjoyed seeing Peruvian culture being repped on all the walls. I had to Google some of the geoglyphs like the monkey one because it was cause for a great debate at our table. The young lady server was very nice and took good care of us. The menu? Everything sounded really good and we had a semi-hard time deciding what to get. We did start off with a Pisco Sour and a Maracuya cocktail. Both were pretty light and tasty. One co-worker had a tooth removed so all he could eat was soup so he ordered the Sopa de Dia which was chicken. He said it was pretty good for the big bowl he was served. One co-worker got the Bistec Apanado (deep fried steak with sides of meduros and fries). He said the steak was tough and his meduros were either not fully cooked or overcooked. Another co-worker got the Bistec A Lo Pobre (flank steak, rice, fries, meduros, fried eggs). She said the steak was tough too. Same problem with the meduros. The other co-worker got the Arroz Con Mariscos (mixed seafood yellow rice). His came out first and it smelled amazing. He's not a fan of cilantro and it was topped with it. He's one of those weirdos that the gene that cilantro tastes like soap lol. He still liked his food and at most of it. He left the calamari rings behind stating that they were too chewy for him. We all tried it and we were pretty split on the statement. I ordered the Mixto Ceviche (raw fish, calamari, and shrimp) with added spiciness. Don't ask me why I chose spicy, I just knew that it was going to be spicy as in more spice and not like spicy hot. It was very good even though I felt as if I had too much liquid on my plate. Sopping it up was out of the question as it was very sea-salty. I'm not sure who's child it was but a young guy came up to me and asked what I was eating I told him and then he walked away. Our table was confused by the reaction but he came back later to take some of our dishes to the back. Slightly odd. I'd come back. I need to try their Chicha Morada (purple corn drink)

Now let's try this new concept here. We decided to sit at the bar and we were handed menus on IPads. Wow, this is different. We can't order on it but it was simply a digital menu. For drinks we got the Lula's Blue Pisco (Pisco, blue curacao, coconut cream, agave, like and coconut rum) and a Peruvian Prince (Peruvian Pisco, passionfruit liquor, peach Schnapps, lime, bitters). Both drinks were strong but the Blue Pisco was skrong. We both liked the taste. We later ordered a Mi Amor (7 misterios Mezcal, muddled watermelon, passionfruit, lime). Also strong and I'm not a watermelon person, but it was hard to not enjoy it. For apps, we got the Totstones Achorados (green plantains, mussels, tomatoes, onions, cilantro) and the Chicharron de Atun (seasoned bluefin tuna crackling, fresh housemade guac, fried jalapeno, cambray onion). The Chicharron surprised me as I didn't think the little fish rounds would be such a tasty snack. And the guac was really creamy, not salty. The tostones were impressive. My man said that normally they would be very dry but these weren't. The toppings on them, while not bringing a strong flavor, were cool and refreshing. For entrees, we got the Pulpo A La Parrilla (grilled octopus, fried potatoes, salad) and the Arroz Chaufa with Steak (white rice, eggs, chopped onions, chopped bell peppers, ginger, and sesame oil). The latter is a Peruvian version of Chinese fried rice. This was delicious! The flavors were much stronger and bolder and he could only eat half of it at this point. I saw some people complain about their octopus being too chewy but I honestly will eat it anyway. I love it. The Peruvian corn that topped it was so sweet and delicious. The side of remoulade I used for everything on my plate as it was a great dipping sauce. We were too full to get dessert and threw in the napkins.
