So yummy. We came here for my birthday and had sushi and a few other items. I really like their sushi because you know they use good quality fish and they don't skimp on the size. I love salmon sashimi and the pieces were nice and thick. Pricing is perfect for the portion sizes. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and the staff were amazing. I should preface this by saying that we ordered delivery. The veggie sushi was amazing. Fresh. Crispy in the right places; creamy in others. The udon bowls were a little on the bland side though. Bummer. I was super impressed by how carefully everything was packaged. The colds in a separate bag. The noodles and toppings separate from the broth. For me, this is a big deal. I'm hoping our bowls were just a fluke (it was pretty newly opened at the time). Will def give it another shot, for the to-go packaging alone. If you are in the mood for some good sushi then I would recommend dining at Fo Bistro. My waitress was very nice and attentive. The pork dumplings and shrimp spring roll were delectable and was just what I needed to start off my meal. I ordered the Maki A combo which came with miso soup and salad which were all very tasty and well-sized portions. There are so many options on the menu and even alternatives if you are not a fan of sushi. They have great food. Here are my issues. Service- A little slow. Did not come back to check up on us. Not very sociable. The Entrance- When you walk up the place it looks closed. The front door was filthy and we thought it had gone out of business. No Happy Hour- Happy hours bring people in. Not sure why they wouldn't have one. Other than those it was great. This is my favorite sushi spot and my guilty pleasure. The menu has something for everyone, from classic California rolls to a large assortment of sashimi, and even a full dinner entree menu(which I haven't tried yet but they look very appetizing) My favorite is Mr. Mango which is snow crab, avocado, mango slices and mango sauce, and a dish of edamame. Before Fo I had to go to Fairfax to get quality sushi, so I love the fact I can finally get great sushi local at a reasonable price. The ambiance of the location is delightful. its small and quaint, and has a wonderful atmosphere of deep wood and Japanese calligraphy decorating the walls and ceiling. Drinks are reasonably priced however food is nothing elevated above any other Asian restaurants, but a decent place all the way around. The sushi is always fresh & flavorful. The bento boxes are a great sampling if you can't pick just one thing or you just want to try a variety. Just tried this local restaurant and couldn't be happier that there is finally a good sushi restaurant in the Montclair area. The sushi rolls I tried (red tiger roll and snow angel roll) were both delicious and all the fish was very fresh. This place was awesome! Love the atmosphere, they did a great job on the dining room. We got the yakisoba with shrimp (husband is picky with noodles and loved them) and the Thai Red Curry with shrimp. It was really good, veggies and shrimp were cooked perfectly. We also got the green torpedoes, thought they looked interesting. Very tasty (spicy) and a spin on jalapeño poppers. Overall very happy with the experience and we will definitely go again. Food: In addition to hand rolls (seaweed was hard to chew but the contents were good and plentiful), we ordered a vegetable pad thai (nice flavor) and the chicken udon noodles (noodles were kind of over-cooked). Overall, this is a place worth trying, but I wouldn't say it's worth driving to specifically. It's a place to go to if you're in the area. Nice little place here. The decor inside is done very well. We have been here a few times and have not yet been disappointed. One thing I like about this place a lot is that they seem to do a lot of business for carry out which makes the dining in quiet, attentive and fresh.
