Located up the street from our local dive bar, we stumbled upon Foghorn. While we've eaten the chicken wings, the real star of the show is their collab with Little Brother's Pizza. I'm not entirely sure what kinda style of pizza this is but it reminds me of a round version of Detroit style with that crispy cheesy edges. Ive gotten their white pie and bbq chicken pie, and both are so good, I can't order one without the other. It's a thick pizza but somehow it's dense and light at the same time. Whatever they are doing, it's the type of pizza that I could eat all day everyday. For like $16, it's one of the best pizzas from a value and flavor standpoint. If you are looking for somewhere to satisfy the pizza craving, this one might be worth the visit if you like Detroit style pizzas. read more

Honestly, this has to be one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had in a long time. I ordered takeout and went with the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich along with a side of their seasoned fries and everything arrived hot and fresh. The chicken itself was perfectly crispy on the outside while still juicy on the inside, and the seasoning had a great balance of heat without overpowering the flavor. The bun held everything together nicely and didn't get soggy, which is always a big plus with fried chicken sandwiches. The fries were also excellent, crispy, well seasoned and packed with flavor. If you're heading to a show at The Independent, check out Foghorn Taproom. While they have multiple locations throughout SF, this specific location on Divisadero is the one to head to if popping into see live music later in the night. There's lotsa spots in the area to choose from, but Foghorn has the vibes we were looking for on a busy NYE night ~ laid back, chill, quick service, friendly & accommodating staff, solid food. Speaking food-wise, they offer a hybrid of pizza pop-up (Little Brother's Pizza) with fun topping options with also a focused menu of in-house chicken options including a super delish fried chicken sandwich (see picture). This is def your local sports bar with plenty of TV's to watch a game if that's what your vibe is also! We noticed several parties coming in & ordering the wings which seemed to be a hot seller (vegan options also included), and we thought for the "just want a snack folks" the option of (1) Chicken Tender for $5 looked pretty hearty! Other menu options include ample rice bowls, loaded fries, salads, and sides. The lunch pita looks fun too off the mid-day menu! They also have fun sips and dips..a great craft beer menu and fun dipping sauces. We would def come back again when in town for a show. Had an awesome experience at Foghorn Taproom! The pizza was absolutely delicious--perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and easily some of the best we've had in a while. We'll definitely be coming back for more. Our server, who I believe was named Maddie (forgive me if I'm mistaken), was fantastic as well. The restaurant was packed and clearly a little understaffed, but she handled the busy dining room with a great attitude and never missed a beat. Came for Wing Wednesday! 50¢ wings from 5-6PM (just note it's one drink per 10 wings). We ordered at the counter and food was brought to our table. We ordered 20 total: 5 ghost glaze, 5 Nashville hot, and 10 lemon pepper. The Nashville hot and lemon pepper were easily my favorites. The Nashville hot had a crispy exterior with heat that wasn't overwhelming but just enough. The lemon pepper was super lemony in the best way. We got spicy ranch on the side to dip the wings in. I've heard great things about foghorn taproom and was super excited to try! This is a cute spot with a causal pub vibe. I have to say I was a little disappointed with the food though. The wings were great- juicy, crispy, and super spicy. I would definitely come back for their happy hour and just get the wings. Grabbed dinner here around 8 pm during a weekday. You order at the counter and receive a number to put at your table. I got the Nashville chicken sandwich ("spicy" level) and seasoned fries. Food came out in about 5-10 minutes. Fries were solid -- amazing crisp and great flavor. Fried chicken sandwich was very mid -- chicken was not spicy at all and it was kinda dry. I usually go to the Foghorn Taproom in the sunset but wanted to check this one out since I was in the area. I will say I think I prefer the Sunset location over this one. The chicken was cooked perfectly, but I felt that out wings did not have as much sauce as I would expect them too. My favorite sauces are always the buffalo and mango habanero. We tried the garlic Parmesan for the first time, and didn't enjoy this one. It did not have as much flavor as I would have hoped. I went to watch the 49ers game. The venue was nice, not too crowded. There is outdoor seating, tables and bar. I had the Hot Chicken sandwich and it was good. The pickles tasted great. Didn't have a chance to try the pizza on this first visit (which did look amazing), but the dry-spice wings and beers were fantastic. Very friendly service coupled with a comfortable and clean dining environment makes for an enjoyable experience. Plenty of sports available on the multiple screens but volume is kept in check to ensure a fun but unobtrusive ambience. Is this a wings place that serves beer and TWO wines, or a taproom/brewery that serves bar food? I think it would benefit the neighborhood more to have the alcohol beer/bar situation be more of the draw/focus, and the food be less, as we have a $hit load of great restaurants and only a few bars/taprooms. The beer was good and the food was definitely "bar typical", but certainly not something that one should make a special trip for or should be the focus. They have a 10-15 item menu and the food was decent, but again, it's a very weird/sterile atmosphere that doesn't know what it is yet. It has TVs playing sports on the wall (sports bar?), but there is no sound (GOOD!), the music is way too loud for anyone to sit and visit at the tables (BAD), the place is blindingly bright (BAD), there are only three or four seats to sit at the bar (BAD), and there is a whole bunch of wasted space inside (not well thought out or properly utilized--they literally kept the exact same footprint as a previous business that had a different focus). No one seems to have given much thought to ambience, aesthetics or what they were trying to offer the community, but just took over a space and said "let's serve some beer and wings (and chicken and pizza)" and that was it. Granted they've only been open for a couple of weeks so I will most likely update this review if things improve, but let's give some more thought to the client experience - - more art on the walls, much more acoustic soundproofing on the ceilings, maybe some sort of softscape inside to keep the sound from bouncing around, make the bar larger - - bring it all the way to the right of the entrance and put multiple barstools (fill that awful dead space!), highlight your beer - - make it a place that people will come for drinks (w/food on the side) rather than a place that people come to for food with drinks available. I felt like I was eating in a hospital cafeteria - - ambience needs to be improved!!! read more

The food here felt exceptionally average and there's nothing to highlight. I tried the loaded fries and garlic parmesan wings and felt neither were particularly good. The cabbage slaw on the fries added a nice brightness but overall the fries were quite bland. I ordered it xtra hot and half the chicken wasn't spicy. The wings had a nice crispy exterior but the chicken itself was dry. If it came with a sauce, the dryness of the wings would have been partially offset. read more

Wings are solid, substantial with lots of options. Get two orders and you're full. Loaded fries are good for 2-3 to share, tasty and perfectly cooked. Plenty of great beer options of course.
