I'm a little biased because I frequented this place with friends when I was living in SF over 5 years ago. This is a great local bar to grab a beer, maybe catch a game, and catch up with friends. It gets pretty busy in the evenings but my friend and i stopped by on MLK Monday and it wasn't too busy. We were seated at the bar right away. People are friendly, seats are comfortable, there is food available, and always great beer. They have memberships - my friend is a lifetime membership owner with his name on the wall! Cool stuff.

This was my first time back since they changed the menu. The burgers and sandwiches no longer come with sides. My friend and I split the House Burger and ordered a side of fries. The fries were really good very hot and crispy. The burger itself was just okay; I asked for it medium, but it came out dry. My wife ordered the Buffalo Cobb Salad, which looked amazing. She said it was very good and filling. Service was great as always.

This is one of my favorite places to eat and/or grab a beer in the Inner Richmond. I love the vibes and the fact that they have many, many TVs to watch sports on. They have always had a great beer selection and top-notch food. Most recently they've made major changes that have left me feeling some way. The interior has been elevated with a cleaner, more refined look - nice bar, a TV for their menu, no paper menus, updated dishware, no paper menus (order by QR code), and new silverware containers. The aforementioned updates are welcomed and make the place feel different - in a good way. The unwelcomed changes include how the sides (fries, tots, etc) are no longer included yet the price of the "meal" remains the same... eh.

Such a cool spot in the heart of the Richmond District. The service is friendly, the ambiance is lively with ample seating and TVs, and the food is SO good. I've been looking for a yummy American food restaurant in the Richmond, and I'm so glad I found this spot. I highly recommend ordering the buffalo Cobb salad, spicy shrimp mac & cheese, and house burger. * Buffalo Cobb Salad: this is probably one of the best salads I've ever had. The chicken and buffalo sauce mixed with the blue cheese and the fresh vegetables make it taste so yummy. Packed with flavor! * Spicy Shrimp Mac n Cheese: the shrimp with the mac & cheese topped with chili crisp is just so bomb! * House Burger: the flavor in this burger is so delicious. The patty was cooked perfectly and was not dry. The mustard aioli with the cheese is just such a good combo. This is a super cool spot to watch sports. We wanted to watch the WBC USA vs. Mexico game and they were very accommodating and turned it on for us to watch.

Came here a few times for the Clement street clean up on Fridays, and got some tacos, fries, and beer afterwards. Everything was very tasty and I like the huge selection of beers they have available. Would recommend trying this place out!

I've walked by many times but have not had a chance to stop by until recently when a friend had her birthday lunch party here. Arriving at 12 noon on a Saturday, our party of ten was set up on a long table on the left side near the entrance. The food menu consisted of a brunch and a lunch/dinner menu. While deciding on the food, I checked out the bar menu. After all it's a draught house with 18 beers on draft. I ordered the Fort George Cavatica Stout, which was an Imperial Stout. This double stout was dark and bold with a hint of sweetness was smooth and delicious. Our host ordered for the table Caesar Salads and Tots. The salad was nicely prepared with shredded Parmesan and garlic crostini. It also had cherry tomatoes, which was unusual for a Caesar. The tots were good, but nothing special. I had chicken and waffles, which a Belgian waffle made with bacon bits and cheddar with a fried boneless chicken breast. It came with sides of maple syrup and cinnamon whipped butter. The chicken was little dry, but the cinnamon butter was a nice touch. Our waiter was friendly, but I guess they were not used to having a large party. The salads were brought to our table, but no serving spoons our plates were brought to the table and we had to flag down our waiter for it. Nice neighborhood pub with extensive beer selection and good bar food. Good place to watch a game too as they had several large screen TVs.

Good vibe, decent food, good drink selection. I was surprised how un busy it was on a Sunday at lunch time - why haven't more people discovered this spot? Very casual and friendly vibe. Servers were prompt and food came out quickly. Menu selection was good, lots to choose from. My capers sandwich with chicken was good - the chicken could have been a bit more tender. Tots were top notch. My husband enjoyed his chicken and waffles although the serving size was kinda small. The kids thoroughly enjoyed their chicken strips and tater tots. My friends swear by the chopped salad with buffalo chicken on top. Good drink selection

I've been here before for brunch on the weekends but recently came on a weekday and the food was really disappointing. Mac n cheese: The shrimp was good but the cheese sauce was so flavorless. The entire thing came out barely warm and swimming in liquidy cheese sauce. Philly cheese steak: The garlic tots were tasty but the cheese steak was also barely warm. There was barely any cheese as well. Nachos with steak (not pictured): This came out cold. The steak was cold and the cheese sauce was cold. It was not good at all. Not sure what happened with this visit but the food was pretty much cold and not good at all. The brunch menu is way better but I don't plan on returning anytime soon.

My go to spot in the Inner Richmond. Their burgers are bomb and their classic cheeseburger is my go to. I also love their specials- currently they have Taco Tuesday and Wing Wednesday deals. Bonus: They offer gluten free hamburger buns.

After a soccer game, or to celebrate something, or just on a random Tuesday night. But somewhere along the way, pizza became a delivery thing. Something to eat when I was feeling lazy. My quest to find the best pizza in San Francisco is reminding me how much I enjoy sitting down for pizza with the ones I love. And Hi Hat is one of the best spots in the city to do that. The people are super nice. There's plenty of space to cozy up, and probably a dozen beers on tap. Good, local beers, like Bare Bottle. Cellarmaker. Ghost Town. And yes, the food is really really good. Especially the pizza. They're known for their spicy vodka and Stracciatella which has this creamy, garlicky sauce...and a slow burn to it. I really enjoyed it. And the jersey pie, which is really all about the tomatoes. My wife LOVED it. I thought it was good....in a simple pleasures kinda way. You can these by the slice, and after 9PM slices are three bucks. But some pies, you can only get whole. Like this sausage and ricotta pizza that I absolutely loved. I'm normally not a ricotta guy - but this was whipped so light and airy...in between bites of salty sausage....I get it now. And of all the NY style spots I've tried on this quest, this might be my favorite crust. I asked their pizza tosser how he does it. It's a five day process, and they keep the dough cold until the second it goes in the oven. That traps the air bubbles inside. And those bubbles are what give it this airy, crispy, fluffy crust. Then he slid a cookie in front of my daughter, and it hit me that this was HER first random tuesday nights going out to pizza with mom and dad...and I know she loved it too.

Their beer is excellent, and I've heard nothing but great things about the place and people. We visited on a Sunday and met friends, who said it took a while to get a big table for us; it was surprisingly packed! It's a large industrial brewery, with the equipment chained off at the back. They make great use of the rest of the building with large tables, small tables, bar seating/standing room, plus an arcade area, outside seating area, and a few cozy living room style areas with stuffed furniture at the back. Prices are reasonable for the well developed beer. They also had a food vendor outside, which we loved (see separate review).
