I really wanted to love this place. I gave it about three chances, but I am honestly disappointed. My last visit was unfortunately the worst of all three. If you have ever been to a Rodizio style restaurant like this in Brazil, you would also be really disappointed. To start, Fogo de Chão is known for having a small buffet, which in general is usually fine because they come around with really good meat options. However, if you are doing a small buffet, the least you expect is that you are doing an excellent job with the few options you have. Unfortunately that is not true. I've checked a few times and it took them a really long time to replace a few items, including sliced cheese, prosciutto, and even their feijoada. That is not a great experience, especially for the price they charge. Another problem is that Service is so slow that it took at least 10 minutes to get my cup filled with water after we were seated. Now let's talk about their meat service. I would choose to go to Fogo de chão for its additional variety of cuts, compared to Braza or Rodizio Grill, but it would be awesome if we could actually get those extra cuts--for example, lamb chops or beef ribs among others. Those I have not even seen. When I asked my server, he said those were not even being made at the moment, which is a shame. But even worse, there were huge gaps of no meat coming to our table, which is a bad experience, especially at the start of service. In a true Brazilian steak house you know that sometimes you barely have time to breathe in between meat cuts being offered to you. That was not the case. We had to complain to our server that we were not being properly served, and then, thankfully, things improved. But honestly, you shouldn't have to ask, and to make things even worse, my wife only eats well‑done, and for at least the first 30‑40 minutes she didn't eat any meat. As I said, I really wanted to love this place, but you are better off going to Rodizio or Braza Grill, as at the end you are paying much less for the same meat cuts. read more

I had went with my wife's family to celebrate her fathers birthday. Had to say this experience and the food was dissatisfying. We had booked a reservation for 5, and it took 40 minutes for us to be seated. There were bigger parties that hadn't reserved yet they were seated first way before us. Once we got seated the server was great. Yet I had noticed our water was not filled within 10 minutes. Now let's talk about the salad bar. The bar was almost empty, nothing in the salad bar was fresh. I had many Brazilian food before and that was the worst I've had in almost long while. With my experience with the cultured food, since the salad bar was cold I had expected the meat to be warm. It was not. It took forever for us to get the full meat course. We even had to ask if we could get the other meats we had not gotten within an hour in. They never brought the other assorted meat. Now let's talk about the Crab Cake and the Lobster. I've had Lobster and Crab Cake from the west coast fresh many times. The Lobster my wife and her sister had was bland. My Crab Cake was awful. The seasoning was way too much, and keep in mind I let the whole table try it. The seasoning was so bad I went to the bathroom 3 times, worst part is that the bathrooms always had a line. So I had to ask them if it was the crab cake, they all said it was. So we decided to talk to the host about the crab cake. The host was trying to have me think I had an allergy to Crab, shell and the oil in it. I do not, I've had many crab cake before and our server even hyped it up. Then we had learned many people were sending it back today. Yet he was still persistent on me being allergic. I would get if the restaurant was busy, yet it's a Brazilian restaurant with servers who work as a team. We did not see that today. Very poor for the price, I'd rather go to McDonald's. read more

The salad/side dishes buffet was mediocre, some of the meat were excellent salty. The service was terrible. We were told that we had to sit in the bar area or wait for 1 hour. There were plenty of tables that seemed available, and for the time we stayed at the restaurant, nobody used them. Took a long time for us to be helped by our server, then, once again mediocrity. Didn't bring the garnishments, we had to ask for it, we had to ask for the extra plates for the meat. We had our sign turned on "green" for the rodízio, however we were not being served. The ambiance is visually pleasing but the music is very annoying. Felt like a Miami lounge/club instead of a restaurant. I have picked this place because in Brazil they have high quality food and service. This location didn't measure up to that. read more

I finally tried the Fogo in Murray during the holiday craziness, and it was kind of a mixed bag. Getting in was weird. I called earlier and was told if we showed up around 8-ish we'd probably wait 20-30 minutes. We got there around 7:45 and got hit with the "no reservation, no chance" vibe... then told to come back later... then another host said the same thing... and then the original hostess recognized us and got us in. We ended up seated around 9, and she was honestly awesome. After that, the night was a mixed bag of good and disappointing." Our server kept drinks coming and checked on us, which was great. But the table next to us stayed dirty for like half our meal, which highly unlikely of the restaurant. And the biggest bummer: a bunch of meats we were waiting for either never came around, or we were basically told it was late and they weren't bringing out certain cuts anymore. Felt like everyone was in "let's wrap it up" mode. We still had a good time, but for about $186 (no alcohol) it didn't feel like we got the full experience. Save your money. Every cut of steak desperately needed the chimichurri they bring to your table. One of their waiters must think I'm an idiot who didn't read the menu as when I asked about the lamb chops he stated that we only got the Full Churrasco and he'd be happy to upgrade us to the Indulgent Churrasco if we wanted that. By then I was annoyed and didn't bother referring him to the menu. This same waiter offered to get us the dessert menu that we'd asked for but ended up disappearing to hang out by the bar for the rest of our evening. We sat for a long time on green with no one passing by. When Gaucho's did come by, they brought the same three cuts of meat. Rodizio's tastes better and costs less than Fogo. The reason I'm giving Fogo 3 stars instead of 2 is because the drinks were delicious as was the creme brulee and potato salad. read more

Didn't get clear instructions of how the process worked. YOU have to ask for certain items. We visited with high expectations but unfortunately left disappointed. The dining room was quite dark, and while a table light was replaced, it stopped working again within a few minutes. We arrived hungry, so it was frustrating that nearly 30 minutes passed before our first gaucho came by, and about 40 minutes before receiving drinks. The restaurant appeared noticeably understaffed. The market table and feijoada selection were very limited--only a few salads, some fruit, a few cold items, and basic rice and beans, with little else available. Several meats missed the mark: the lamb chops were overcooked, the chicken was extremely dry, and many other cuts were either very rare or well done. Grilled pineapple was not offered. Lastly, we ordered the indulgence option but never received the enhancement or dessert, though we were still charged for it. Overall, the experience did not match expectations, and we hope these issues can be addressed in the future. read more

My husband and I love Fogo de Chão. We were in Utah for Thanksgiving and learned that a new Fogo had just opened while we were there. The service was amazing , we met Gabriel, one of the managers, and Alexandre, one of the servers. They both did an excellent job, and we left very satisfied. However, I did order a passion fruit virgin mojito, and the bartender added coloring to the drink, which ended up staining my teeth. It also didn't have any passion fruit flavor. We had seen online that reservations were not required, so we showed up without one, expecting a short wait. Instead, we were surprised when the hostess, Taylor, rather rudely told us to come back another time. In hindsight, we probably should have taken that as our cue to leave, but we had a gift card to use. We checked online and were able to make a reservation for a table just 10 minutes later. When we returned and let her know we had a reservation, she scoffed, rolled her eyes, and complained that they didn't have any two-person tables available, then told us to wait anyway. Once we were finally seated, our server introduced himself and took our drink order, but we never saw him again. Our drinks were eventually brought out by someone else. The meat itself was good, but the selection was very limited. The side offerings were also underwhelming. For a restaurant that positions itself as more upscale, I expected a selection comparable to--or better than--places like Rodizio or Braza. The cheese bread was the standout item, but since it isn't self-serve and the servers were not very attentive, it was difficult to get more. We came here for Christmas dinner with our large family of 16. The space was tight but we made do. Pricing is pretty comparable to other Brazilian steakhouses. My SIL appreciated that her three small kids ate free. Overall the food was pretty good. The meat skewers came fast and furious which was a bit overwhelming and a lot of the meat was cooked a bit rare which is not everyone's cup of tea. The salad bar options felt lacking with not much topping variety. The real star though, was our waiter, Jordan. He was incredible! Friendly, fun, attentive, just really top notch. We were there from 5 o'clock till almost 7 o'clock and only got the meat four or five times. All the food they had out to grab was subpar you pay triple the price going to Tucanos but it's three times as bad here. Not to mention the meat didn't taste good just salted. We would ask them for food and then 15 minutes later they would come back and ask how the food was and we hadn't gotten it yet. Unfortunate experience. We made a reservation a week in advance.. along with everyone else. When we checked in we were told "it's going to be a while." When we asked why we were told "do you see all of the people in line before you? We have no tables." We were also told this is a recurrent issue because "our system allows any number of reservations to be made at a time." We waited 30 minutes for a table. I ask the receptionist lady how long it will take and she said " I don't know" I don't think that is a response you should respond as a good customer service and a restaurant that is supposed to be as "good" it was the second time going but definitely not going again! First time visiting Fogo de Chão, and the experience was absolutely fantastic! Our service was outstanding--Marissa was friendly, enthusiastic, and did a great job walking us through the menu, which really set the tone for the evening. The food kept coming, and every cut of meat was excellent, with the picanha (top sirloin) and chimichurri being my personal favorite. I'm leaving a five star review because as a chef and restaurant operator I know how hard it is to come back from negative reviews. And also because I appreciate that we went on Christmas Day and I'm thankful that you were open and fed us. Having said that it was one of the single most negative dining experiences I have ever had. They were doing reservations only and so we were maneuvered to the only time that would make sense on the phone to make a reservation (not great) (if you can't accommodate parties don't take the reservation). When we got there we checked in and were not sat for 30 mins. Reservations by nature secure a spot for you to show up at a certain time and they supposedly would have something ready for you (it reminds me of the Seinfeld episode with the rental car). There was almost zero communication from the hostess of why it was taking so long, the only communication was that "your table is ready but we are understaffed and non of the servers want to take your table" what!? Don't ever say something like that!! Made us feel unwelcome the whole meal and you could tell the server had no interest in assisting us! We were a party of 5, not bad, left 21% tip on over priced food (out of principle and because it was Christmas). All the other parties were closer to 10 though. I even said to the host.... The server doesn't matter at this concept, we can get the salad bar ourselves and start waiting for meat!! Meat took too long and the sausage guy never came back! We had to ask for Chimichurri and sauces 5 different times, waters were never filled (we had to ration and share). Needless to say we will never be going back, corporate restaurants are supposed to have some sense of locked in service and consistency. If you don't have the staff don't take the reservation or don't open!! I don't blame the server nor the host they need to be better trained and guided by the management. My wife (who is Brazilian) and I went for dinner here and were excited to have a new Brazilian restaurant in the area. We knew that it would be expensive but we were still excited because they have Fogo de Chão in Brazil so we went with the expectation that it would be more authentic than other restaurants here in Utah. We were both disappointed with the quality of the food for how much we paid. Another issue we had was that every few minutes someone would come by and ask to take our plates even though we still had food that we wanted to finish. For the $156 we paid we could have saved a lot of money and went to Rodizio Grill and been able to enjoy a great meal and been very satisfied. read more

We got there, and they were out of rice from the beginning. They told me it would be 5 minutes. Rice is one of the most important staples in a Brazilian meal, in my opinion. I kept watching the buffet, never any rice. I would go up and ask, and it was 5 min, now 20 min, now 10 min, but in the end I was told 5 minutes when we got there and ended up waiting 45 minutes for rice. There were no other warm side veggies except beans, which was disappointing since the Rodizio in town has plentiful warm side options and approximately 1/2 the price. I didn't think the meat was spectacular or any different from Rodizio. They also brought us 4 cheese breads for a family of 4. These things are tiny, why only 4? Yeah they replenish them, but you have to ask. At Rodizio, they are kept on the bar and never run out. I've seen people fill up entire plates and take them to their tables. You can't do that at Fogo. There really is not anything better at Fogo. You save some money and get a whole lot more at Rodizio. Just so unfortunate they could not manage to keep a staple like rice replenished and available on the buffet. I do give it to the staff that they watched it for me and brought some so I wouldn't have to battle the other 50 people at the restaurant...still I do know there were some people that never got any rice. read more

first off, for a new restaurant before you walk in or after a meal and you walk out, you have the stink sewer smell. almost made me throw up. in the beginning the restaurant is beautiful and has a nice tone to it. we were welcomed by the hostess and our server. we ordered our meal. got up to go to the salad bar. the salad bar looked like it was never changed from brunch. salad was wilted, smoked salmon was hard on the tips and stuck together, the cheese hard hard ends, soup had hard burnt crust edges. waiting for the meat to come to the table was slow. I asked for steak and lamb chops 4x before someone brought anything out. they don't offer all of the meats they say they have. they bring tough chicken and pork as fillers. refills on the drinks took forever. three stars.... read more

First time. My husband had already been for lunch a week ago and raved about the food. It was my birthday so we thought we would splurge and have the family give it a try. Made a 5:15 reservation for 7. At first our server was amazing. It took some time for the meat service to start, but we understood as there were just a few tables. We had half the table who likes their meat medium to medium rare and several who like a more well done cut. On the first screwer we made this know. The server said they would come back with something more well done. They never did. Our guest spent the whole night saying no and I would like it more well done and the server never returning. For the amount we paid they maybe had 3 meat items. Once the restaurant got busy our server was nonexistent. We made a request for pork belly and pineapple 4 times and did not receive it. One guest left, and I got tired of waiting so went out to the car. I waited another 30 minutes for the rest of our party to leave. No pineapple (which is fine, but tell the customer it is not being served). We did get the pork belly but this was after I had left. For the amount paid and the reputation I was highly disappointed. They did send out a birthday cake with my husband when he left though. read more
