So I didn't know they have an all day happy hour. Which is clutch. It's not really all day. Think it was 12-8. Nonetheless it was pretty great. I had the burger. It was super flavorful. Ambiance was great. So was the service. I was pleased with my time here.

We came for the all day happy hour and it went down hill from the moment we sat down. The all day happy hour is at the bar and patio. We walked in the front door and were directed that patio seating was first come first serve, so we went back out and sat at the fire pit area. The 2 servers past us several times before acknowledging us, welcoming us, offering us water or menus or speaking although they saw us sit. The waitress finally brought us water, then menus a few minutes later. After that, the table beside us left so we shifted there, still no service. I got the attention of the waitress and she got the waiter to help us. The entire time we were there went like that; a complete breakdown in service. Timeline: About 30 minutes from when we sat to when we got our first drink, a few minutes from that we got half of the food we put in.... And realized we didn't even have silverware to eat with... 20 later we got 1/2 of the rest of the first order and 15minutes after that, the last of the first order... THE EMPANADAS . What took the cake was that it took SO long to get service, however when an older couple came to the patio, they had silverware before they even decided where they wanted to sit, greeted immediately, served immediately. It was the weekend and notably busy, HOWEVER, the patio only got lighter the longer we sat, and waited, and there were 2 waiters the entire time. Completely manageable, I assure you. We observed that the sentiment was the same as ours with a few tables as we sat and waited. Not the standard I expected at all. Unacceptable honestly. All of the food was good, except the empanadas that took the longest to come out anyway. Yall can skip those. Get a caipirinha, the regular, passionate or strawberry hibiscus; you won't be disappointed. The yuca wasn't cooked through. I'll be back, however, maybe I'll sit inside so I can be tended to. The bone was good. The filet mignon board, sprinkle some of the salt on top. The lamb lollipops shine in the mintchurri sauce. Queijo Assado good as always, although some pieces weren't as grilled as others. I'll go again one day to try the rest of the menu.

Happy hour at the bar addition - amazing, tender, nicely cooked and seasoned. The daylong happy hour prices are the best at the wharf

Fogo de Chao is all types of amazing! The churrascaria experience offers so many great samplings of meat and while you can access the fruit and salad bar, why would you with all of the delicious chicken, steak, beef, sausage, and other options that just keep on coming. Service was great and this location provided an upscale, but more casual vibe than the downtown location. The restaurant is very modern with large glass windows bringing in natural light and a glimpse of the wharf happenings. They have light Spanish/Portugues music playing. While we preferred the meat options at the downtown location (more options), we appreciated how friendly the staff was, the more laid-back setting, and the location right on the main strip of the wharf at this location. Fogo also offers great discounts such as a birthday discount and kids 6 and under eating free (my daughter is obsessed with both DC locations). We'll be back!

Fogo has a great all day happy hour, but the service here is TERRIBLE! There are way too many other options in the area for it to be slow and the staff to be so apathetic. You basically have to flag down someone like a maniac to get acknowledged. I will gladly patronize other restaurants before coming back to this one.

Outstanding service, everyone is very friendly and food was delicious! The drinks were on point too. I came here as part of a group of 8 people, dining on New Year's Eve. It was quite crowded and a a popular dining destination for the night, but we had a reservation so our party was sitted immediately. Josue was our server. He did a fantastic job tending to our table. We all went in on the "Full" Churrasco experience, which was roughly $69/person. It was well worth it, besides....When coming here you might as well go big or go home. lol. I've been to several Fogo de Chao locations around the DC area, Philly, and NYC. And, I can say..... everything about this location was top notch and up there with the best of them. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was extremely chill. We started with the salad bar which is included in the meal. The selection of salad items were excellent and everything was fresh and tasty. The veggies and entire spread is a meal in itself. I was also very impressed that the second we turned our food card over to green, the meats arrived at the table one after another. For the most part, the meats were delicious, tender and well-seasoned. We particularly enjoyed the filet mignon, lamb chops and the chicken wrapped in bacon! In all, a great experience and visit to this location. From the service to the food....you can't go wrong dining here. I recommend and give this location a double-thumbs up!

We stopped in for the all day happy hour on Sunday, and sat at the bar. Beautiful interior at The Wharf area of DC. Friendly staff, delicious drinks are appetizers. We did not eat the buffet, however we saw the gauchos moving through the restaurant carving and did walk through the Buffett noticing everything looked fresh, delicious and plentiful.

We stopped by after seeing a play @9pm. Tuesday night, so we found street parking. Place was large & beautiful The bar area was pretty full, but we found space behind a beam. The staff was attentive to us and our needs, that was so nice - esp being so late and sitting behind a "beam" We ordered off the Happy Hour menu. Queijo Assado Gluten Free: Blistered cheese, malagueta honey. SO GOOOOD! Lamb Lollipops* Gluten Free: Lamb Chops, Mintchurri sauce. ENOUGH FOR TWO. FLAVORLESS. MEDIUM. THE SAUCE WAS MINTY, BUT TASTY Gold Rush: Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Tempus Fugit, lemon. FRIEND LOVED THIS AND ORDERED 2 Caipirinha: Silver Cachaça, fresh muddled limes, cane sugar. TASTY!

Came here while I wait on my friend to come in town and I frequent the ones in Atlanta. This locations food was terrible the lamb lollipops taste gamey and have no char to them. When asked for a char they tried to just cook same ones longer making it not medium. Potato salad not cut properly and lacked flavor.

Fogo: salad bar, cause I wasn't getting any meat

It cost me $200 for 2 people to have a drink and eat here, for the price it was underwhelming and 40 mins to get my drink and not seeing any decent cut of meat for an hour is a no go. 1. Reservation: necessary. It is a huge establishment, but given its location at the Wharf, it is packed. 2. Food: not good in a sense that I had to wait 30 mins just for anything to show up, and they keep bringing chicken or sausage.. I don't eat any of those ever. They hold out on the beef and before you know it, it's 1.5 hours and they want you gone. 3. Drink: took 20 mins to order and another 20 before I could get it in my hands. 4. Service: They try to be nice, but if I don't get any food or drink for half an hour and have to ask for the usual items that come to the table such as the bread, cheese etc, it is bad service. All in all, I won't recommend this location. If you are truly craving Fogo, go to Tyson's location, at least they are better.

Terrible bar service!! I visited yesterday for happy hour. I really wanted to check out this new location as I love the Wharf and don't come to this area often! Well don't think it's new new now, but it's been under a year. They absolutely need to work on their service! I sat at the bar and was ignored for awhile. I mean at least 20 minutes and it wasn't that busy. The bartender (didn't get her name) eventually came over to bring a menu. I put in for a red blend. Just wine. No cocktail! Should be quick and easy right?! I saw her taking other orders and attending to other patrons. I saw her pour a white wine and had it sitting at the bar. Before she poured it she reached up to get the glass out by putting her pen in to scout it out. I get that it's high and she's short but wow! Then she looks over at me and came over with the white wine that was sitting there that I did not order. She apologized and said it's on her. I let her know that I actually didn't order that. I reminded her of my real order and asked to put in for some sliders. I got my wine but 30 minutes go by and still no food. Did she even put it in? In fact she disappeared for awhile and never said anything. I got the attention of another bartender, Gabriel, to let him know that I wanted to cancel the order of sliders. He was apologetic but I was over this place at this point! I'm sticking to the Pennsylvania Avenue location. Never been treated like that there or any Fogo! Please do better!!!

Great food and experience. This location is a short walk from the metro and The Wharf is next door. There really isn't a bad seat in the dining area. The service was great too.

If you're coming to Fogo de Chão, come hungry -- and maybe skip breakfast. The nonstop parade of meats was impressive: perfectly grilled sirloin, lamb, and chicken. Every cut was juicy, flavorful, and expertly cooked by the gauchos. But honestly? The bacon at the market table stole the show. Sweet, rich, and perfectly crispy -- it gave off total million-dollar bacon vibes. I went back for seconds (and thirds) just for that alone. Service was authentic and attentive, and even with a packed house, the team made sure we were well taken care of. The ambiance is really great also!

We settled on a clam chowder, buratta, petite filets, and molton chocolate cake. The chowder was a tad bit salty but delicious. Unlike most restaurants they serve a hearty bowl vs cup. I had to pace myself. The buratta was very earthy as the arugula was heavy but the sauce did lighten it up and give dimension. Now, that Filet was simply divine. Perfect flavor and so delicate and moist. I'm a well-done weirdo but ordered medium-well. It came out medium and was oh so juicey. It literally melted in my mouth. There was minimal seasoning. Yet, the whiskey-peppercorn sauce that accompanied it really added flavor. I'm a suckered for a good sauce. Definitely, worth my time. Top tier steak! Service was top tier. David was phenomenal. We had the choice between East or West Coast and went with the West Coast oysters, which I really enjoyed with lemon and mignonette. The architectural design is impressive from the outside, and we were seated in the second-floor dining room overlooking the beautiful Wharf waterfront. The view and overall setting were definitely a highlight of the experience. Food: 5/5 Another area that lived up to the billing. The risotto, according to my guests, was excellent, and I personally really enjoyed the Caesar salad. It came with garlic croutons and a unique Parmesan crisp that added a great texture and flavor. We had the petite Beef Wellington, which was understandably on the smaller side, but the dish packed in a variety of textures and flavors and was definitely a treat. One of my guests also really enjoyed the tofu fried rice. And all three of us absolutely loved the sticky toffee pudding dessert--it was probably the unanimous favorite of the meal. Service: 3/5 This was the one area where we had a mixed experience. We had an unpleasant interaction with the front desk when we arrived. We decided to walk in because we saw plenty of reservation slots available online and weren't sure exactly when we would arrive. However, when we walked in, the front desk told us that "the only spot available right now is the bar." We were surprised when we went upstairs and saw quite a few dining tables available. What made the situation even more confusing was that we were able to make a reservation online on the spot and were eventually seated at a dining table. There seems to be a disconnect between the online reservation system and whatever system the front desk is using, and that created an unnecessarily frustrating start to the experience. That said, once we were seated, the service was top-notch. We had nothing but good things to say about our server and the rest of the dining experience. Given the contrast between the initial interaction and the service afterward, I'll split the difference and give the service a 3/5. Overall: This was a very good experience that could easily have been a great one if the seating and reservation process at the front desk were better coordinated. The ambiance and food were both excellent, and the service once seated was fantastic. Hopefully, the reservation/seating hiccup was just an isolated issue, because otherwise this is a restaurant I'd be happy to return to.

As for the food, it was good but just shy of great. I had the short rib hash. I thought the beef would be more shredded but it was in chunks. It was more like pot roast than short ribs. And my portion needed some salt. They treated my friend well for her birthday with the very nice treat. I'm withholding a star for the service . It was friendly but so slow. I still think it's worth your time.

Steakhouses are…read morethe favorite for networking and educational dinners in my world - and even though there's a location in NYC, I had never heard of the chain before. That being said, I was curious to see how it stacked against other steakhouse chains - so off we went. Mastro's gives off similar vibes to other steakhouses I've been to - the interior is dark, with over the top finishes and an overall masculine aesthetic. We were seated in the main dining room - it wasn't too large, though I'm not sure if there were other rooms. There were no real surprises on the menu, though I noticed they had a good selection of wagyu cuts from the US, Australia, and Japan. We decided to start with drinks and then some apps - namely, the wagyu roll, house salad, crab cake, and seafood tower. There was no question the seafood tower was the biggest showstopper. We were able to choose which seafood to put on it, and it came adorned with dry ice for that dramatic effect. To top it off, they even flashed strobe lights against it when presenting to make it extra Instagram ready. The seafood itself was delicious, and the other apps were good as well. My only critique of the apps was the house salad - they were too heavy handed with the dressing, it would have been better if it was dressed sparingly. While the wagyu was tempting, I went with the filet for my main. The beef was cooked well (not well done), and topped with an herb compound butter which really added to the meat. We also ordered sides of broccolini, lobster mashed potatoes, and lobster mac and cheese. These were all good, though I don't find the existence of lobster mash necessary; lobster mac and cheese is enough. We finished with dessert - chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate layer cake, their signature butter cake, and cheesecake. Dare I say the chocolate covered strawberries were the best? The chocolate coating was more of a spread so it didn't fall off at first bite, and it came with whipped cream mmm. It might have been because the fruit was a repreive from the relatively heavy meal, but it was a standout for me. Though the butter and chocolate cakes were also delicious I'll call a spade a spade. Service was great - they were very attentive and consistenly made sure we were taken care of. Overall, I wouldn't say Mastro's was the best steakhouse I've been to, but they hold their own. I don't know if they're on the same level as other chains, but I wouldn't be mad if circumstances found me here again in the future.

At one point, he came to our table and explained that there were other people celebrating their birthdays and that he was busy attending to them. I understand that restaurants get busy, but telling a customer that other birthday celebrations are taking priority is not appropriate. He knew it was my birthday as well and even apologized for "ruining" it by mentioning this. It was an incredibly strange way to address his lack of attentiveness. When our food arrived, the server did not promptly come to plate our food. We eventually plated it ourselves, and only afterward did he come over and say that he had been planning to come plate it for us. At that point, the service had already been missed. There were also multiple staff members assisting with service, which made the lack of coordination even more noticeable. The kitchen was quite slow as well, and the garlic mashed potatoes were cold by the time we were eating our steaks. There were also clumps of mashed potatoes left on the table, which our server picked up with his bare hands. These may sound like small details individually, but together they made the service feel surprisingly ordinary for the setting. The food itself was the highlight. The filet was very well seasoned, the garlic mashed potatoes were excellent despite the temperature issue, and the signature warm butter cake with ice cream was phenomenal. My dining companion said his filet was the best filet he had ever had. I also found the dress-code enforcement somewhat inconsistent. I had made an effort to dress appropriately for the occasion, and my dining companion did as well, but I noticed another guest being admitted in denim shorts. My dining companion independently commented on how people were dressed, so this wasn't something I was looking for--it was simply noticeable. Ultimately, I would return for the food, but I hope the service is substantially better next time. This was my birthday dinner, and unfortunately the service did not make the occasion feel particularly special.
