Came here for an event service was a little bit scattered lots of things happening at once my Seabass was very tough, but also beyond overly seasoned like they went a little too hard on the salt it made it almost inedible. The salad had a ton of dressing the bread was good. The shrimp appetizer was good, but I have been looking forward to eating here cause I've seen so many locations in the one time I go, it was this. It was very generic. Nothing really stood out.

A D.C. classic and a great experience! Street / nearby garage parking only and no validation. Large indoor dining room, standing bar area, and covered/enclosed patio. Dim lighting, cozy and romantic ambience. Fun caricatures of famous guests painted all over the walls. Wonderful service - constant water refills! The complimentary bread is delicious. The calamari is SUPERB! The ribeye with cowboy butter was cooked perfectly. Broccolini was delicious (a bit oily, but that's prob why it tasted so good!). Pappardelle bolognese honestly could've used a bit more meat. I was digging around all the noodles looking for more meat that really wasn't there... and for $35 I wish it was! Very tasty though - more like a rose sauce than straight marinara. They brought us free creme brulee for our birthday. Beware - they sing! Overall a great steakhouse experience. Come hungry and you'll leave with leftovers too! I hope to be back

We went for Valentines. The front door staff is not so friendly, but the coat check lady was delightful. The dining room was darker than I remember. Overall, a five star though. The weight staff is excellent. The warm basket of delicious bread and soft butter in a ramekin was greatly appreciated. There was a raisin, and garlic, herb, and crispy roll type bread in the basket. Yummy! The wedge salad was large enough to share. It includes walnuts, not a typical addition to this type salad. This was very good and they were kind enough to split it for us. My friend ordered the 14 ounce NY strip steak. He said it had great taste, was well prepared, but was a bit tough. I had a 3 pound lobster. I asked them to crack it for me. The claws were exceptional. The tails were a little tough. The butter, and I squeezed some lemon juice in it, was very good. I wonder if it's all butter or something else is in there. Their lobsters really are good and I believe they are known for their lobsters. Sadly, they aren't from Maine anymore. Back in the day I believe they were. We ordered the potatoes au gratin. They were a little disappointing. They weren't sliced as normal. They were round potatoes, not my favorite. When I order au gratin I want more of the cheese than potato. We ordered the enormous carrot cake. The cake was good, not great, but the cream cheese frosting was excellent. Plenty to share and bring home later. Sadly, the picture of my lobster was blurry. It was beautifully presented, sliced in half and claws on top. We both had the Always in Fashion old fashioned cocktail. Excellent!!! The best of all the restaurants in town, hands down. I'll definitely be going back for one of those. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you go for dinner or a drink at the bar where you can also order food. By the way, there is complimentary valet parking after 6:30 PM.

Solid, age old spot. We had dinner at almost 8pm and the crowd was clearing out. The dining room got quieter as people were finishing their dinners. The tables were a bit close to each other but it was fine. Our server wasn't too on top of his game but he looked very tired. He was forgetting drinks, never came back with cheese for the top of my pasta, didn't know how to answer my partner's question about what type of beer, etc. My spouse questioned whether his steak was actually A5 -- it was on the cheaper end, and when it came out he definitely said it probably wasn't to that quality. He eats a lot of steak. I really enjoyed my meal though. I got chicken Parm and the chicken was nicely breaded and smothered in cheese. The sauce was chunky tomato which I like. My only complaint was that it didn't come with a lot of pasta, which is surprising... Usually carbs are easy and cheap. And you can't even see it here, cuz there just wasn't that much of it. The cheesecake is Junior's from New York. It was a bit more crumbly than I like, and I wasn't a huge fan of the bourbon caramel sauce. There's also barely any crust, which is one of my favorite parts of cheesecake. I did like the clotted cream and mint on the side, it gave the cheesecake more character. The servers came over to sing happy birthday to our friend... They'd been doing it all night. We heard several tables being serenaded, including the one right next to us, right before us! Overall, not bad, I really did enjoy the chicken parm. I had never been to this location and I enjoy looking at people's faces drawn on the wall.

The first time I came here, I was not overly impressed for the price we paid. I didn't leave a review yet because I wasn't sure I came back and have to say we genuinely had a delicious meal. I'm still skeptical about the prices we paid for everything and think they're quite a bit above the market price even in this area. Solid dinner and would come back

Had an amazing pickup experience and the food was top notch - Shrimp scampi starter, wedge salad, 18 oz ribeye, creamed spinach and truffle risotto-- all superb!

My old ass boomer in-laws made a reservation here and it was perfect for them. If you're looking for you're typical white table cloth steak house with some seafood options. The palm is for you. I shared the porter house steak with my husband. Definitely left with two days of left overs. We asked for medium and it was VERY red, so after a couple of bites, we asked our awesome server (I wish I remembered his name) to take it back and cook a little more. They gave us an extra complimentary drink which was very kind of them. For four of us and a let's say two drinks each, we did ended up paying $450+ so it's definitely not an expensive place. I did consider to pay into their loyalty program so I could get my face on the wall. Please ask them how you can do that lolololol. Great place, I'd definitely come if I'm looking for a good piece of meat. Paloma was mid.

Restaurant week took me to the Palm in Dupont Circle. It was right down from the metro station, I think it was the Connecticut Ave exit (??). I know where I'm going in Dupont circle so the signs don't mean a lot. I expected more of a crowd on a Monday, during restaurant week at 5 pm. I joined the folks at the bar. I had an idea of what I wanted at a steakhouse. The barmaid gives me a menu and I order a glass of house red. I order the house salad immediately, no tomato. Italian dressing came on the salad. I decide on the 6oz center cut fillet with mashed potatoes on the side. Tiramisu for dessert. The salad comes fast and it's pretty fresh and good. I have never been to the palm so I decide on a few wall pictures. The walls are covered with famous people, athletes. politicians (mostly politicians), other people of note. It's incredible. I'm finishing the salad and the meat and potatoes arrive, the main event. I have been looking forward to this all day. It's cooked medium as I ordered it. Potatoes are very tasty. Generous side size. The meat is ok, I guess I expected better. The lady behind the bar made the evening. Conversation with her and other folks at the bar. People are starting to come in. I meant to bring a tie but left it at home...most men are wearing suit and tie, ladies are in dresses or skirt and blouse. The wine is gone, meat and potatoes all consumed. I take the tiramisu to go. I pay the check and I'm out the door. If you have never been I have to say it's worth the visit for the atmosphere, the walls and good service at the bar.

Eating steak with DC's elite../ Parking: located in downtown DC, parking is slim pickings. Street parking is all around but you may have to search Drinks: great house wine selection and full bar. Also a great selection of soft drink Food: they have a great selection of meats, including A5! We ordered A5 and NY strip. We told the waiter we wanted to split it between the two of us. The waiter offered to plate them individually half and half - so nice and convenient! The NY Strip was perfection and the A5 was the most tender steak I've ever had! Service: service was just okay. Our waiter didn't seem incredibly enthusiastic or pleasant. When he brought the food over he didn't even clear the table, he simply pushed items out is the way with the plate he was placing down. Not very classy. (Watch video) Atmosphere/vibe: we went for lunch on a Friday. It was pretty empty. They have cool pictures on the wall of Washington elites so it was nice to have lunch with Wolf Blitzer LOL. There is no outdoor dining so prepared to be inside a dim lit restaurant. Bathroom: it was clean and worked well Return: absolutely!

    Espresso martini

Ordered two espresso martinis and they each had a lemon peel garnish- is this normal for The Palm? The service was super slow and dinner was just ok, I feel there are better steakhouses in the area.

We had an incredible experience from start to finish. The service was absolutely amazing, so attentive our glasses were never empty. The steak truly melted in your mouth, cooked to perfection, and the calamari was perfectly crisp and full of flavor. The atmosphere made the whole evening feel special and elevated. And the carrot cake...hands down the best I've ever had. This place exceeded our expectations in every way, can't wait to come back!

Stopped by here for happy hour and it was great. Calamari wasnt my favorite and the sliders were chewy. The options were great and they serve oysters! Bartender Danielle, was kind and had a good energy. Restaurant and ambiance were nice. All the pictures were really cool. Annnd get the bread and butter! Carb it up. Lol

Unfortunately, my wife's first experience was the exception. On our last visit together, the service simply didn't deliver and we ended up leaving. After the manager reached out and encouraged us to give Joe's another chance, I convinced my wife to come back. I'm really glad we did. This time we brought our toddler and ordered the oysters, stone crab, king crab, and bone-in ribeye. Everything was excellent. More importantly, the service was back to the Joe's I've known for years. Our server Kimberly was wonderful, attentive, warm, and took great care of us. Ryan the manager also stopped by personally to apologize and make sure we were having a good experience. What made this visit especially satisfying was seeing my wife finally experience the level of hospitality I had been telling her about all these years. She walked away impressed, and so did I. Great seafood, a proper ribeye, and excellent hospitality. Thank you to Kimberly and the management team for turning things around. Looking forward to many more visits. Keep it up, guys!

I originally booked Omakase room by Tadayoshi for August 15th dinner at 5:30. To my shock it turned out Omakase room is closed that day but my reservation was still active and I confirmed it as well the day before. My husband wanted to try this Omakase place for a while and I thought the day was perfect for it. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed and I was taken by surprise as I didn't have any alternative plans or reservations. We first spoke with General manager at Boucherie and she kindly offered us to take a look at the menu and see if we wanted to dine there instead. I was very upset that the planned and anticipated reservation didn't work out. I said yes at first because I didn't know what else to do but we got an amazing server Revo who lightened the mood and Manager Michael was very kind to us and understanding. While dinner started not on a great note, it ended up the best outcome we could have had. Everyone we interacted with was kind and great. I would love to come back again but now specifically for Boucherie and in a much better mood. I totally understand that reservation issue is not Boucherie's responsibility and I still don't know how this all happened. But we hey made our anniversary dinner a fanatic experience. Many thanks to them and also to the sommelier. Wine list was great and we received great recommendations. Thank you, Boucherie team for everything, I was ready to start crying at the omakase room after seeing it was closed but now I will be back specifically for you and the great food. This was such an odd dining experience; I think I had a good time but it was so strange…read more My husband and I happened upon La Grande Boucherie after we were deterred from our original dinner plans. We arrived at 7:45 on a Saturday night to see if there was room for two or at least room at the bar. I wish the hostess had told us that we could wait at the bar for a table to open up, as we saw that's what many other patrons did, but she told us there was bar seating and high tops and so my husband and I went on up. We easily had our choice of two seats at the bar or a high top, and we selected a high top. After 5 minutes of no one acknowledging us, my husband and I told each other we would wait two more minutes before we would bail. Right as we were about to jump ship, a server came by and asked if we wanted menus. We said sure but it was just strange that no one greeted us, it was just "you want menus?" Lol. Another server brought us menus and asked if we would like water and a breadbasket. We said yes and after about 15 minutes, bread arrived. We chatted with the server about what drinks we should order; I ordered a French 75 and my husband ordered a special Sazerac. We also ordered the tuna carpoacio. After about 10 minutes, the server came back and to confirm if I wanted the soft side cocktail and if my husband wanted an old fashioned. We said we did not and corrected him. Then, a server tried to give our drinks to the table next to us and our server corrected him and brought steak tartare. And then he goes "oh wait, did you order this?" We said no and he asked if we wanted it because if not he had to throw it away lol. And then 5 seconds later, the tuna came. Both the tuna carpaccio and the steak tartare were delicious. But this was the entire evening: we ordered something, something else came. I ordered a glass of sparkling rose, and an espresso martini appeared on the house. We had to ask for our bill twice and when we got our bill, it was definitely someone else's. Finally, as we were preparing to go, the original server comes back and goes "here's your espresso martini." Like bro we asked you originally for the check and we are clearly leaving. Luckily, my husband and I had plenty of time before our show, it was a great atmosphere, and the food was super delicious. It was just such a comically bizarre experience and I feel like they are definitely losing money. I think we paid for half of what we ate and drank and probably ate and drank other people's food! Maybe we will go back? Maybe not lol

That being said, I was curious to see how it stacked against other steakhouse chains - so off we went. Mastro's gives off similar vibes to other steakhouses I've been to - the interior is dark, with over the top finishes and an overall masculine aesthetic. We were seated in the main dining room - it wasn't too large, though I'm not sure if there were other rooms. There were no real surprises on the menu, though I noticed they had a good selection of wagyu cuts from the US, Australia, and Japan. We decided to start with drinks and then some apps - namely, the wagyu roll, house salad, crab cake, and seafood tower. There was no question the seafood tower was the biggest showstopper. We were able to choose which seafood to put on it, and it came adorned with dry ice for that dramatic effect. To top it off, they even flashed strobe lights against it when presenting to make it extra Instagram ready. The seafood itself was delicious, and the other apps were good as well. My only critique of the apps was the house salad - they were too heavy handed with the dressing, it would have been better if it was dressed sparingly. While the wagyu was tempting, I went with the filet for my main. The beef was cooked well (not well done), and topped with an herb compound butter which really added to the meat. We also ordered sides of broccolini, lobster mashed potatoes, and lobster mac and cheese. These were all good, though I don't find the existence of lobster mash necessary; lobster mac and cheese is enough. We finished with dessert - chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate layer cake, their signature butter cake, and cheesecake. Dare I say the chocolate covered strawberries were the best? The chocolate coating was more of a spread so it didn't fall off at first bite, and it came with whipped cream mmm. It might have been because the fruit was a repreive from the relatively heavy meal, but it was a standout for me. Though the butter and chocolate cakes were also delicious I'll call a spade a spade. Service was great - they were very attentive and consistenly made sure we were taken care of. Overall, I wouldn't say Mastro's was the best steakhouse I've been to, but they hold their own. I don't know if they're on the same level as other chains, but I wouldn't be mad if circumstances found me here again in the future.

I understand that restaurants get busy, but telling a customer that other birthday celebrations are taking priority is not appropriate. He knew it was my birthday as well and even apologized for "ruining" it by mentioning this. It was an incredibly strange way to address his lack of attentiveness. When our food arrived, the server did not promptly come to plate our food. We eventually plated it ourselves, and only afterward did he come over and say that he had been planning to come plate it for us. At that point, the service had already been missed. There were also multiple staff members assisting with service, which made the lack of coordination even more noticeable. The kitchen was quite slow as well, and the garlic mashed potatoes were cold by the time we were eating our steaks. There were also clumps of mashed potatoes left on the table, which our server picked up with his bare hands. These may sound like small details individually, but together they made the service feel surprisingly ordinary for the setting. The food itself was the highlight. The filet was very well seasoned, the garlic mashed potatoes were excellent despite the temperature issue, and the signature warm butter cake with ice cream was phenomenal. My dining companion said his filet was the best filet he had ever had. I also found the dress-code enforcement somewhat inconsistent. I had made an effort to dress appropriately for the occasion, and my dining companion did as well, but I noticed another guest being admitted in denim shorts. My dining companion independently commented on how people were dressed, so this wasn't something I was looking for--it was simply noticeable. Ultimately, I would return for the food, but I hope the service is substantially better next time. This was my birthday dinner, and unfortunately the service did not make the occasion feel particularly special.

There's street parking and I believe valet but we found street parking fairly easily on a weekday. The ambiance is dim lit. Service was very attentive and seemed to pay attention to detail, announcing confirmations of no allergens within each dish brought to the table. Our water was filled regularly, suggestions were readily available to the many questions we had. I also thought it was a nice touch that your bagged items are taken off table and you are given a ticket without awkwardly taking up space while you maybe were still chatting or enjoying an after dinner drink or dessert. Quality of food was nice, can't recall the type of steak my brother tried I went with a ribeye and tried the octopus appetizer which was very tender. We also enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and whipped mash. Was definitely a meal that could easily be shared between 2-3 people.

So I'd have to drive there, order, wait 30 mins to cook, then drive home. OR, and hear me out, you enter the 21st century and let me order over the phone

I don't even know how to describe the energy in this place, but you can just feel it the moment you walk in. The restaurant has a dark aesthetic that gives it such a cool, cozy ambiance. My daughter and I ordered the Dan Dan noodles and spicy wontons. Everything was so filling that we ended up ordering another bowl of the Dan Dan noodles! And honestly, I still crave them. The Dan Dan noodles were SO good. The sauce was the perfect combination of creamy and spicy, and there was a generous amount of minced pork that balanced everything out really well. The wontons paired perfectly with the chili sauce that came with them! They were spicy--my ears turned red and my nose started running--but I literally could not stop going back for another bite. Even the wontons alone were incredibly filling. I don't live anywhere near this place, and I genuinely wish I did. I traveled pretty far to get here, and I'd absolutely do it again. This was one of those meals that stays on your mind long after you've left!

Great cocktails, better food. Some of our favorites are the salt and pepper eggplant and the OG LaZy chicken. Inside is dimly lit with energetic music.
