Fogt is a Father's Day tradition. I always treat my husband and father to dinner here. This will be the last year. We were promptly greeted and sat in one of their rooms in the corner. They are all day happy hour so my dad and husband started off with drinks, kids ordered Brazilian Lemonade which they both really enjoyed. Before we even got food I noticed the gnats. They were annoying and I've never noticed them in previous visits. We started with the salad bar which wasn't as good as it has been in the past. A lot of the items were empty. Again gnats everywhere, honestly I was really disgusted by this. The meat quality was bad we kept getting pieces that were just fat my daughter kept complaining and if we requested anything they'd say it was coming. We sat for an hour and then they finally came out with steak at that point we were so frustrated. For almost 400 dollars I expected better quality and not to be swatting away gnats. At one point my dad killed one I can only imagine how terrible it is in the kitchen. They really need to get that under control as well as the quality. The service was fine so I give 2 stars for that. read more

This place seems to be going downhill. We came for an early dinner around 3pm and the restaurant was not busy at all. One would think that since it's not super busy, the service would be quick. That was not the case. There would be 10-15 minute stretches of no one approaching us or brining any of the meat. Just a group of the staff at a table in the back cracking jokes. This is the jack of all trades experience in Brazilian steakhouse dining, The ambiance is Uber modern, fresh, refined, classy, and well maintained always. My problem is that this steak house had very little steak. It was quite strange. Last year, I remember this restaurant being a highlight of my trip to Indianapolis. This time, it was one of my least favorite meals. Was offered barely any steak the entire hour of waiting for servers to bring around food. I was offered multiple pork dishes (after requesting for no pork, it got annoying after the literal fifth explanation of "we don't eat pork.") and two chicken dishes before ANY steak was served. The little steak that was served was pretty mediocre in serving size and taste. I have no complaints with the service, all of the staff were great. For this rare 2 star review I give, I blame the management who probably manipulated the serving system to take advantage of this GenCon crowd. Not cool, felt ripped off. read more

Took the family for a birthday celebration. Meat selections were minimal and below average. Chicken legs were the most flavorful meat. Sausage was poor quality and the steak type meats were below average. Were there over 90 minutes and was only offered one drink refill. This is one of my favorite places to go to for special occasions and apparently it's my daughter's as well because that is where she requested to go for her birthday. We went on a Sunday for brunch right when they opened. Everything there was clean and in order. We sat down and shortly after went to the salad bar. They have a wide variety of fruits, salads, meats, cheeses, and pasta. We sat down and that's when the fun begins. Turn the cardboard circle to green to let the severs know you want service and turn it back on red when you want a break to eat and enjoy all the meats. The severs come around the tables with these big skewers of different cuts of meat. They will slice the meat right at your table. It's pretty cool to see. The service from the staff was exceptional! They were so attentive. They also gave my daughter a complimentary dessert! I recommend this place over and over for any occasion. read more

Fogo de Chao, is a filling and sophisticated place all at the same time! My family and I went with friends and we sat there for quite a while, laughing, joking, and of course eating! But we felt like we were eating at a friends dinner table the ambience was that relaxing. The waiter/waitress were working together which was nice getting to discuss with others on their favorite cuts of meats. The meats just kept coming and coming! We hardly had our card flipped on red we were excited to try different cuts! The lamb and Ribeye was a favorite! The salad bar with the sides was so nice, the fresh bite to meat was a nice relief, cleansing of the pallet. We valet parked right in front of the restaurant. Fogo de Chão review Monday, January 20th Reservations for 8 adults, 7 have been before ,but one newbie. Arrived, seated right away, waitress told us what to expect and took our drink order. Soon our table was visited by people asking us, "Would you like to try our Beef, Pork, Lamb, or Chicken?" Heaven! Half way through our experience "our newbie" says, "This is the best place I have ever been to!" That was about all he said, the rest of the time he was stuffing his face! It was lunch time and they were busy, but the manager still made visits to tables to check on things. Very nice guy, but from his accent, his roots do not come from Indiana. Fogo, not suit and tie, but relaxed atmosphere with great employees. Everyone needs/deserves what they offer. Treat yourself! It was even a holiday so we parked on the street for free? Where's the beef??? This is supposed to be a steak house. With 10 stops at the table and over an hour only 2 were beef. A bunch of low grade pork and chicken. The only 2 beef were the same mediocre sirloin -- small pieces. Maybe 2 ounces each. Not worth the price at all. I went here wanting to have decent beef / steak. Entire bill was $300 for 3 people, no alcohol, maybe 7 ounces of beef total. You'd be much better off going to one of the good steaks houses nearby. Some Brazilian style restaurants will try to try to fill you up on carbs to save money but this place has totally lost the plot. Ridiculous to be there an hour plus with the green cards out and not be offered good steak. The salad bar was okay. Don't go if you are expecting steak. read more

We took a group of 36 to a celebration dinner at Fogo de Chao downtown Indianapolis. Our reservation was for 6:30 and the restaurant was packed upon our arrival. We had booked a private room for the annal dinner event but soon learned that our room had been taken by a group of 200 who arrived an hour late for their dining reservation. This is going to sound like a really bad review but it's actually the opposite and a demonstration of how a great manager can recover from a disaster! Marcos Rico, the manager, profusely apologised to our group. Said that the late large group forced him to improvise and although the seating arrangement was not what we had envisioned he and his staff made it up with over the top service beginning with including seafood towers is shrimp, crab and lobsters! Followed by waiters with multiple choices of various cuts of beef, pork and chicken. This was in collusion with a comprehensive salad bar. As long as you had your green button up, the parade of meats never stopped! And closing the dinner were delicious desserts, the Key Lime Pie was to die for! Marcos was never far away from our table and at the close of the event provided our host with gift cards as another apology for the seating confusion! My team and I had a reservation for 12 people on a Friday night and were impressed by how easily a party of our size was able to be accommodated. Despite not all arriving at the same time, our primary server, Kayla, was attentive and timely, carefully watching as more guests arrived and quickly making us comfortable with drinks and answering questions. Fogo is a smart casual steakhouse, with gentle frills that make it the perfect place for a group of friends or a bit of romance. I think it may quite possibly have the best salad bar of any non-buffet chain, and the meat is cooked with the perfect balance of skill. At times it felt like some of the group at the table would be offered options that the other part of the table was not offered, but to be fair we were chest-deep in conversation and probably missed some things. The restaurant was very busy, but still very intimate, and again-- credit to our server-- when it was time to check out she seamlessly presented us with our individual or coupled checks, with no automatic gratuity despite our party size. Been to the one in Chicago and it was amazing! The one here was not the same experience. Not sure if staffing was issue or just simply the times! The meats were not coming around and overflowing your plates until you turn your sign to red like in Chicago. Several times our plates were empty waiting for them come give us some meat. I spoke up as we were done, and manager was over assisting being a jerk saying ..."well we're here to give you meat and no one is taking it" Well where were you for the first 60 mins? Smoked salmon, salami, cheese, Caesar salad just to name a few. They have a soup area with bacon, rice and beans. This was a lunch date with my hubby and it was overall great as usual except this time we had a waitress who was very inattentive and would disappear for a lengthy time. We ended our eexperience with a server named James as our waitress eventually disappeared all together and never returned. Fogo de Chao is always a great option for a special occasion. This trip was for Father's Day and we made reservations. However, reservations never seem to get you seated at the time you requested. We did have to go up to booth several times to ensure that we were going to be seated properly. The food was good per usual. Don't get full at the salad bar because that is easy to do. The sirloin, NY strip and Ribeye are my favorites. The sausage and ribs were also tasty. The side dishes they they serve the table are unlimited and always fresh and good. I always get one their signature cocktails. The cocktails are packed with tons of flavor but lacks liquor. I would suggest getting a traditional mixed cocktail if you want something a bit stronger. Updated review. Two out of my last 3 visits have been disappointing. Service has gone downhill. To start with, when we walked in, all 3 of the hostesses were on their cell phones. We weren't greeted. They almost seemed annoyed we were there. The service once seated was lacking. We never got our side dishes until we finally asked for a manager. This review is based on my lunch experience at Fogo de Chão. I always liked Brazilian steakhouses, but I only had tried Texas de Brazil and Rodigio Grill in other states. But people have told me Fogo de chao is pricy and It has not been the first one to pop up in my head when it comes to downtown dining option. However I discovered that they are offering market table lunch for $15 and I was craving salads so I decided to go. I was blown away by the variety there! They had all of my favorites fresh like eggplants, beans and cheese. Even prosciutto. Although I remember Rodigio grill offered several more hot dishes and I wish this place did that too, I was happy with what they had there. Lots of veggies cooked to perfection. Although I opted out for the steak, they still came to my table offering hot grilled cheese and mashed potato which was nice. The service was courteous and friendly. I took m y 17 year old son here for his birthday dinner, also falling on Easter. My son works at a fine dining restaurant, so he has a palate for flavor and understands service. It was his first experience, and he was impressed with the attentiveness of the staff and the ambience of the dining area. It felt upscale, but still very family friendly for a holiday and birthday dinner. To our surprise, we preferred the basic meats, like sirloin and chicken - and he even preferred them over ribeye and finer cuts. We attributed this to cooking method, but that sirloin was a perfect medium rare!! William presented our food with friendliness and enthusiasm. If you have never been to @fogo , it's a Brazilian steakhouse and get unlimited amount of meats delivered to your table. From lamb, filet mignon, chicken, ribeye, beef picanah, bacon wrapped chicken, paresean covered pork, and sausage! There's so many more I'm sure I've missed. There's also a salad bar with many other charcuterie meats and vegetarian side dishes. We ended with desserts galore. Chocolate molten cake, crème brûlée, tres de leches, key lime pie, and ice cream!
