Food was always good as ever, service from the waiter however was horrible. The waiter looked like he didn't want to be there. He gave us our drinks forgot one and when we reminded him about the drink he missed to just forget it he responded "oh well then that works out". Really? Took him over 40min to come back to our table and bring us warm water, no ice but he did bring the face of someone who didn't like us. We asked a waitress for ice and she said okay to just disappear into the other tables never to be seen again. Then about 15min later the manager came around and brought us ice, then others saw we had ice and asked for ice too which is strange to serve warm water and not offer ice in the first place. Been here over 10 times since moving here, this was the first and worst service we have had, mainly the waiter made it uncomfortable especially on memorial day. It's a real shame to see this place go downhill. I ate there about 6 months ago, my boyfriend and I did not feel good after for about 48 hours. Hoping we just ate too much, we waited a while and came back yesterday for brunch, after receiving the coupons via email ($15 off lunch/brunch, $25 off dinner per person). We made a reservation and showed up right on time. I gave the hostess my last name, she said the wrong first name, I corrected to make sure the wrong reservation wasn't marked (I have a common last name) and she and the other hostess started laughing. Odd, but moved along. We sat down and for 10 minutes, no one came to our table. Another table right next to us was seated and greeted immediately. About 5 minutes later, a waitress came to ask about drinks and said she never saw us come in. We asked for waters and one Brazilian limeade. We started with the salad bar, which is consistently my favorite part of Fogo. Lots of unique options, including an omelette station, fresh waffles, and other hot sides (like rice and a breakfast hash) during brunch. Unfortunately, this time some things were not so fresh, like the prosciutto and mozzarella that was blue. When time to start the meat round, the first man to stop by with steak firmly said to us, "We are short staffed so you really need to be patient, you got it, you understand?!" We had not complained or anything so the aggression was odd. The waitress walked by and I asked if she could send lamb our way, as I saw a gentleman walking around with it. Another Gaucho who offered us sausage asked if we were waiting on anything specific. We said lamb, he said he would send him right over. The lamb guy came and went 3x, did not stop by. 45 minutes later I calmly asked our waitress if we could please have some lamb. She laughed and walked away. My boyfriend left his token green and in those 45 minutes of me waiting for what I came for, several gauchos walked by us without even offering their meats. It was so weird to be skipped over repeatedly. When one guy finally stopped, the meat was raw, I mean "blue" and cold. He cut a piece, dropped it, and splattered blood all over my boyfriend's dress shirt. No apology or anything. The next steak guy - same issue - meat was completely raw in the middle, wasn't even warm. After being there for almost 90 minutes, I got some lamb, and it was good but over cooked. I did not complain, happy to indulge in my favorite meat. He said he would be back, but he never returned. We also never received a refill on mashed potatoes or the plantains we requested. My boyfriend left his token green for 25 more minutes and not one person came by our table. We stopped our waitress to ask for the check. The check came with an extra drink I didn't order and it took receiving the bill 3x for it to be corrected. Once the correct bill was delivered, I got my card out. For 10 minutes, no one came, at this point we were there over 2 hours. A woman in a black coat picked it up and said she would process it. 15 minutes later, I was wondering where that woman and my card went. I checked my banking app, I had been charged, no sign of the employee. My boyfriend left the table to find someone. A different waitress dropped it back off and I let her know it was gone a long time. She asked about my experience, I said it wasn't great but not her fault, I just wanted to leave. She said she would get a manager, I said no need. While waiting on my bf, the table next to mine, a family of almost 20, said this is the worst Fogo experience they've had in their 15 years of being consistent customers. We all agreed we didn't need to return. Upon walking out, the manager stopped me by the salad bar. He was very clearly in a bad mood and said, "I heard you needed me." I told him no, it wasn't a great experience today but I was ready to leave and didn't need a discount or anything. He asked if I would be coming back, I said no, and then he put his hand up, blocking me from leaving, and loudly said, "YOU HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!" Uhm, NO, I was so mad and uncomfortable at this point. I told him to get out of my face and to let me leave. He still tried not to but my bf got us out of there. Amateur operation. Arrived at 6:10 for our 6:15 reservation. Couldn't even get in the door as 40 people hovered over the non existent host stand which was spilling out into the streets. This is a major fire hazard. I haven't seen anything like this since 2008 Texas road house (pre-call ahead seating IYKYK). Once we got to the host stand "area" we were told it would be at least 30 minutes past the reservation time. What is the point of having the reservation? I can't say enough good things about how well seasoned and juicy the meats are. I've been here a few other times, and was expecting a fantastic experience for a birthday dinner. I made a reservation, noting we had 2 toddlers and may need a booster. Plus a birthday celebration. Thursday at 7pm. Our server was perhaps new. Although she did manage to upsell the "full Experience" (it was Devour Indy) +$7. Once she took the order didn't see her again until it was time to drop off the check (unfortunately she brought it before dessert was offered- as it's included in the meal). I had to get my own plate twice. The "full experience" was a slice of ribeye and a postage stamp size sample of porterhouse. Never saw filet or ribs. One lamb chop for the table before he ran out- and never came back around. My 3 and 4 year old grands said it was "so pretty" inside and loved trying lots of bites of new foods. They were excited and that made it worth the overall slight letdown. We were there a little over two and a half hours- it was a nice experience but when spending $250+ for dinner I expect more. Anticipate things like plates, napkins, refills, etc. I would hope to not ask for a plate, more water, or dessert (we waited 30 minutes for them to bring cheesecake after we ordered. A manager walking by went to check it had been so long). All that said- the salad bar is amazing. The food is excellent. The drinks are yummy. My family enjoyed a wonderful post-graduation dinner at the downtown Indianapolis location of Fogo de Chão. The alternating gauchos stop by each table offering various cuts of different types of meat in the style of a Brazilian churrascaria. From my perspective, the standout was the lamb chops, which were the highlight with the savory notes complementing each other: mint and lemon with white wine. Let me preface this by saying for years Fogo, has always been one of my favorite places. However, after this weekend I won't be back and won't recommend it to anyone I know either. We made reservations for 12:30, while yes I understand it's Sunday brunch. So there might be a wait, however a half hour? The place was crowded to the extreme. I get it, if you're popular place people will want to go. So my wife was seated first, and my daughter and I had went to gather our food. I had asked her to order a drink for me. So as my daughter and I returned to the table. She was in the process of ordering my drink. The waiter, asked her age which was reasonable. My wife as she saw me said it's his drink, so you can card him. I then preceded to tell the waiter my age. He then asked my minor child's age as well. Which makes no sense to myself or my wife and really upset both of us as it seem very unnecessary. Especially considering she doesn't look 12. I know that there is age based pricing. However why ask when I'm ordering a drink? Also why not ask it in a better manner ? We finally got water a good 10 minutes after that. As we were waiting for them to bring around meats. We noticed that a table close to us was getting quite prompt service. Well it turns out that apparently they knew one of the waitresses. So it appears that they were getting preferential treatment while everybody else in our area was getting slighted. And we happened to leave the same time as this couple. So we know in fact they did know each other because of the conversation we overheard of them talking about how the waitress got off but had to come back later. Back to the experience or lack thereof: We were constantly skipped and it almost felt like we had to flag somebody down to get meats. Our original waiter who's name was Noah. He was subpar at best. Lacked customer service skills and seemed to really not care at all what type of experience we had. Never filled up water glasses, never asked how we were doing. Usually when you don't ask, it means you know you were doing a good job. Nobody wants bad feedback. Fortunately for us, Shellie who did seem to care about our experience came over and asked how things were going. We told her honestly that it was awful. She was able to get us fresh sides about 10 minutes later and they were actually hot. We didn't see Noah again until Shellie had already delivered the bill and then he asked us if we wanted desert. Nope, no desert and regretted the money we had spent. Typically I'm a good tipper however, we barely left 10%. In January of 2024 I left a negative review on this FOGO location, from a December 2023 dinner. I was contacted by management after my post and asked to come back. One year later, December 14th, 2024, we revisited this location and the service was fantastic. Our largest complaint regarding our annual visit in December of 2023 was the lack of service. Well this visit was much different. We were bombarded with every type of service, meats, clean plates, drinks, etc.. This was the FOGO experience our family has become used to from the years of visiting the downtown Chicago location. We won a gift card here at a local event and were thrilllllllllllled. Fogo is famous for rolling out the red carpet and we were dreaming of meat galore leading up to it. This Brazilian Steakhouse is known for their massive buffet, massive meat skewers, and impeccable service. We went hard and did the full Fogo Churrasco Experience, which includes the Market Table & Feijoada Bar, Brazilian side dishes, and continuous tableside service of tons of cuts of meat. My favorite was the market table. I tried this amazing watermelon/feta/mint salad, scored feijoada galore and tasted lots of mini meats and cheeses. I was practically full by that alone when our meats and potato side dishes started to be served. There are about ten servers, each with a different cut of fire-roasted meat. The walk around in a set pattern, so that no table misses out on a certain type of meat (and there's 14 types!!!). I had some sirloin and lamb, and was quickly full soon afterwards. Because I can't eat a lot of meat in one sitting, dongi the full experience isn't necessarily for me. Everything was delicious though and it was a super fun experience! In reading other reviews, I've also learned that you can stop in for a $15 Market Table lunch, which is an amaznig deal, as the food is top-notch quality. Next time, I'll go that route! read more

The food was great, as was the service and overall appearance of the Chicago area locations. The Indianapolis location was dirty, run down, poorly managed and had bad service. The food quality can't begin to come close to its Chicago cousins. The salad bar was poorly maintained and unappetizing. This lunch option is a GREAT alternative if you happen to feel the same way as me. The buffet had tons to offer! Many different lettuce options for the salad itself, with SO many topping options. They had a hot meal area that had meat/beans, rice, and grilled veggies (peppers, onion, and I feel like Jalepenos maybe? as something in it had a kick to it). They also had different kinds of salad -- chicken salad, I think potato salad, caprese salad, what looked like a broccoli salad, etc. At the table, they brought mashed potatoes, warm bread with cheese inside, and a plate with grilled plantains and some kind of cornmeal/conbread option. Although Fogo usually impresses me, I was definitely underwhelmed with the food and some of the service. We went here to celebrate a few birthdays in our family, and the service was very so/so. Everyone should visit Fogo de Chao. The food is excellent, and there is a worthy, and unique, cultural component to this restaurant that merits a visit. However, I found it to be lacking in one area: ambience. Not every restaurant is a cozy, quiet place. I understand that. However, this establishment was a bit of a tourist trap. It took my wife and I over an hour to get a table for two. We waited, packed like sardines, in a crowded front space, with hundreds of people coming in and out of the front door. When we finally arrived at our table, we were situated so close to the other tables in our area that we may as well have been seated with the lovely family of eleven next to us. (In fact, when the father said the prayer, we bowed our heads too.) The staff was managing a three ring circus fairly well, but didn't realize that we had never been to the restaurant, and did not know the protocols for service - which is a mix of buffet-a-la-Sizzler, and waiters bringing meat to your table until you red card them. This set up a couple awkward moments where a man carrying a large knife and a skewer of meat chastised me for not grabbing the flank steak he was cutting with the tongs at my table. I didn't know what to do. Again, the food was excellent. The cultural piece is unique and interesting. I think people should visit. My brother and I got my mom a gift card for Christmas. It was worth it just for the experience. We did have to flag down our server several times to ask for things but overall the service was good. I probably wouldn't go back since I had the experience once but I'd still recommend it to everyone to experience at least once. I'm adjusting my previous 5 star review for the experience I had last night. Normally, one experience wouldn't warrant such a dramatic change, but bear with me. I was coordinating dinner between a few couples and we decided on a date that would work for us. I made a reservation not realizing that it was Devour Downtown. That's on me. I don't particularly like dining out during Devour because it always negatively affects the experience in my opinion. A few days before our reservation, a corporate email comes from Fogo de Chao announcing KIDS EAT FREE NIGHT on the Saturday night of my reservation. What. The. Actual? I mean, I'm sorry, but my reservation was with Fogo de Chao not Burger de King. We tossed around going elsewhere, but decided to stick with our plan. We should have gone elsewhere. The waiting area was packed and full of kids running around. I had a spot at the edge of a bench and a kid was climbing around next to me, kicking me. They sat us at a table in a far corner where they store the unused wine glasses. The person at the table for two behind us had it worse. It was impossible to move in the restaurant. The Gauchos delivering meat had to ask customers to scoot in and in some cases they couldn't get to us at all. Meat juices were spilled on my husband and myself because of the close quarters. It wasn't their fault. They just simply couldn't move and were constantly being bumped into. If you wanted to go back to the market bar a second time, you were shit out of luck because you couldn't get there. Service was not as impeccable as you normally get at Fogo. We got the usual "we work as a team" story, but our team was small to nonexistent. I can't blame them because they were hustling. The restaurant leaders set them up for failure. They were actually setting up extra tables in the main aisle of the restaurant where people walk through from the front to the back. I mean, if there would have been a fire, half of the place would have burned alive. It was not a relaxing night out. It was, in fact, the very opposite. It was loud and high stress. I tried to control myself so I had space for all the meats. The servers were very friendly and cordial. They have a fried cheese with honey that they bring to the table. So good! This restaurant always leave me feeling full. Parking is easy. My party of 5 went at 11:45 am and the entire staff was very attentive. They were constantly replacing our plates with clean plates. They were definitely listening to our wants and there was no delay in the service. The food just kept coming (lamb, sirloin, chicken, ribs, smoked sausage etc.). The only disappointment was that they no longer serve grilled pineapples; however, the grilled cheese came to the rescue. The experience is always wonderful, but yesterday the teamwork of the staff was nothing short of amazing. Kudos to the leadership staff. I even added Crème Brûlée to my delay (which was absolutely delicious). They close from 2 pm- 5 pm, but we stayed until 3 pm. While Fogo De Chao may have never "literally killed a guy last year", you will definitely walk out of the restaurant with meat coursing through your veins and arteries. While the skewered meat is clearly the star of the show, the actual MVP was the salad bar!! Now I'm not sure if that's just about expectations or if the salad bar was truly great, but I was blown away by the food they served up there - was it not for FOMO, I think the salad bar could be a spectacular meal all on its own. Smoked salmon, cured meats, fejoda and rice all make a dangerous combination when they are served before the meat starts circling. But once it does, get ready to go the races. Servers rotating around the room in a choreographed dance involving ever piece of protein ever imaginable. Like some carnivorous dream the waiter comes in for a landing and starts slicing pieces off the hunks of meat in front of you. As if that wasn't enough, regular "meal experience coordinators" circle as well dropping off plates of cheesey bread and other Brazilian sides (perhaps in a cynical attempt to fill you up on lower cost foods and allowing the high price protein to go that much further - make sure to try a bite, then save these as an post-carnivorous chaser). The only minor downsides I can think of from eating at Fogo de Chao is that the staff is very sneaky at adding non-buffet items to your tab. The server placed an order of shrimp cocktail on our table and upon hearing no dissent, added it to our bill (while it was good shrimp, $22 for 6 borders on highway robbery). Similarly, the cadance of meats is stacked so the prime cuts (filet mignon) come out so infrequently, you'll be lucky if you catch one serving during your meal. read more

Absolutely fantastic food, service and staff! Very high end but not a judging environment at all. We did their unlimited salad bar and steaks. I personally wanted to try one bite of absolutely everything. Despite not liking some things I tried a ton of things I wouldn't of that I ended up loving! The meat is fantastic the salad bar is all very high end cheeses and other salad items. Defiantly recommend but keep in mind it's pricy, my meal was 73$ without tip, and of course I'm going to tip the fantastic staff. read more
