We came off a 4 hour flight and were looking for a good place to eat. So when we saw there was a Fogo de Chao nearby I got super excited. I love Fogo de Chao, but had never been to this location in Indianapolis. Of all the FdC that I have visited, I have to say this place had the best service by far. The waitstaff and the person whom I assume was the manager were always asking if we needed anything, and if everything was ok. I got nice thick cuts of meat every time. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures because I was so hungry and excited to eat, but my friend got the salmon and enjoyed it (pictured below). The meats were grilled really well. The char on the outside was perfection. The salad bar had a lot of choices, and everything was tasty. I'm going to have to stop by here whenever I'm in town for business. read more

We went to Fogo de Chão for the first time to celebrate our anniversary and honestly had such a great experience. From the start, the servers were friendly and super attentive, constantly coming around with different cuts of meat for us to try. Our favorites were the ribeye and the picanha both were cooked perfectly. I loved that they made sure to give us the best pieces too, like the perfectly charred, flavorful edges with that crispy salt crust. The Brazilian cheese bread was so good, and we also tried the warm grilled cheese with honey (not sure what it's called, but it was amazing). Everything tasted fresh and came out hot - maybe because we went for lunch on a weekday and it wasn't too busy. We grabbed a few things from the Market Table, which were all good, but we mostly stuck with the meats. The sides were great too and nice to have when we needed a little break from all the meats. Since we mentioned on our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, our waitress told us we could get a complimentary dessert. We chose the tres leches cake and it was delicious. They even brought it out with a little "Happy Anniversary" plate, which was such a nice touch. The restaurant itself felt upscale but still comfortable, and everything especially the Market Table was kept really clean. For the price, especially at lunch, it felt like a great value. At other nicer restaurants you'd easily spend $50+ on just one steak, but here you get to try multiple cuts. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend, especially for a special occasion. read more

I wanted to go here even though my family is vegetarian. I heard good things about the salad bar. We went over lunch. The staff were very attentive. The restaurant is a large space. The salad bar selection was really good. Roasted veggies, salads (bean, green bean, jicama, tabouleh), cheese, fruit, and tomato soup. Most things were marked as vegetarian or vegan. Some things were not indicated but assumed it was ok to eat (jicama salad). There was a little bit of meat in one area and the black beans had pork (all labeled). They also served some hot dishes directly to the table - Brazilian cheese bread, plantains, polenta fries, and mash potatoes. They brought out more if you wanted it. Most of the items were flavored well and good range of selection. If you are vegan, there are still a good number of options to make a meal, but it would not be my first choice to come here if a group of vegans. We went on July 3 and had a 5:30 reservation. My husband and son went to use the lavatory, and it seems I disappeared. The snotty, arrogant little girl at the desk pointedly ignored me and walked away. Fortunately, a gentleman asked if I'd like to be seated and got me a table. Unfortunately, the meal was the worst I've ever had at this restaurant. The selection of meat offered was less than usual; for example, they never offered sausage, and the crispy ribeye was not good. It was shocking how inattentive the servers were and how overcooked the meat was. I did ask for medium rare and got raw. Then there was the incomplete salad bar. There was no Serrano ham, a favorite of mine, and although they brought out a few more bowls, the salad bar wasn't very full or good. The soup was cold. It was good overall, Fogo de Chão is one of the best chain restaurants there are and this location is similar to the others. I dined solo and my waiter was attentive for the most part. It took them awhile to get chimichurri which was a bit annoying and is why I am giving four stars instead of five. If I remember correctly, it ultimately ended up being one of the staff that bring out the meats that went and got my chimichurri which I am thankful for. I am only giving them two stars because the person on the phone did her best, but this was one of the worst expensive meals I've ever had. We ordered take out an hour and a half ahead of time to pick up on our way to our nearby Airbnb but realized an hour ahead of time that we had to take a detour. I called three times (all well ahead of our pick up time) to request that we pick it up half an hour later. When we opened our food to eat, everything was cold and the meat was so overcooked and tough that it was almost inedible (ordered medium-rare). It was also ready when we arrived ten minutes earlier than the requested time; it must have been boxed well before we requested. Took my grandson to Fogo de Chão for a great experience and it was mouthwatering. We went for the brunch which turned into lunch! I started with those Belgian waffles, braised beef rib hash, the sweet cornbread, beef steak, lamb chops, omelette, and the exotic fruits were all amazing. My daughter decided she wanted to try Fogo de Chao for her 25th birthday dinner. If you have never been, it's an interesting experience. I made a reservation, so we were seated immediately. My dining partners had the FULL CHURRASCO which is the continuous table side serving of various meats as well as the market table (salad bar). I had the INDULGENT CHURRASCO as it included everything from the "full" as well as a choice of an "enhancement" and a dessert. This was a worthy upgrade as the lobster tail and the dessert were the highlight for me. Fogo provides you with a disk that is red on one side and says "no thanks" and the other is green and says "yes please". This is to be used to let the servers know when you would like to be offered some of the table side carved meat options or not (maybe taking a momentary break from the meat sweats). My dining partners enjoyed the variety on the salad bar, which looked great. There was roasted eggplant, asparagus, chicken salad, an apple salad, etc. I just prefer a more traditional salad myself. I chose the "butter bathed" lobster tail for my "enhancement" (Apologies forgot to take a picture of that). I enjoyed it. Also served were mashed potatoes as well as a side of plantains (think sauteed bananas) and another item that I did not try. The mashed potatoes were good. My favorite cut of meat served was the filet. It did seem that was a cut that I had to ask for when the servers inquired of any special cuts we would like, as opposed to it making the regular rounds like other items. My "indulgent" dining experience also came with a dessert, which I chose the CHOCOLATE BRIGADEIRO. It was very good, but didn't seem to match up with the description on the menu to me. It was like a nicely done chocolate cheesecake, and was served with a dab of whip cream and strawberries. I really enjoyed this. One of my dining partners chose the creme brulee. She normally loves this dish, but said she was disappointed with it. She indicated it was dry and not creamy as this dish usually is at other venues. My daughter got to choose a dessert on the house for her birthday. She chose the chocolate molten cake. She said it was moist, and pretty good. It was served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Overall, I'd say Fogo is more of a dining experience, and it's either in your wheelhouse or it's not. I had been one time previously many years ago. It was my daughter's choice for her 25th birthday and not something that would have been on my list to do otherwise. The food was good, but you are paying for the unique experience rather than for truly epic food. I've had much better food, at more traditional restaurants, for significantly less, and that's largely the reason for my rating. Everything was pretty good, but nothing was amazing, or in line with the cost, and the my dining partner's rating of the creme brulee dropped it from a 4 to a 3 star (since I can't give a 3.5). If you think the experience is your thing, it could rate higher for you. The wait staff was attentive. Fogo offers valet parking, but as it was a Sunday afternoon and no major events were happening, we were able to easily find close by parking for free. read more

It has been awhile since our last visit. We've actually been frequenting a new Brazilian Grille on the north side of town. We made a reservation here so we could compare. Our service was very good on the offerings of meats and other sides brought to the table. The refills on water and tea were very very slow. The cold bar of items was ok but not nearly as good as we remembered. One did the full meal, two did the chicken only, and one did the salmon. We thought ordering the chicken we would have a half a chicken or something brought specifically to us like the piece of salmon. We found out after asking that we were able to just take any of the chicken offered by the Gauchos. I put on our reservation that it was for a birthday. But no one mentioned it at all. That was super disappointing. We were even using a birthday gift certificate so that should have been another clue to at least acknowledge the birthday. If you like meat, this is a great place. This is a Brazilian steakhouse where they walk around with 10 or 12 different kinds of meat, lamb, beef, chicken, pork. All different cuts, and they walk around and you can have as much as you want. They also have what they call the market table, which has salads and cheese and vegetables, as well as rice and beans. All very fancy stuff and all incredibly delicious. The meat is excellent. They also have a fried cheese that is really good. They start you off with cheese rolls. In addition, they serve poutine, and plantains for the table. One of our people at the table also got a beautiful baked salmon with asparagus. And our vegetarian family member got tofu and black bean pasta. Everything was very good and we finished up with crème brûlée and chocolate molten lava cakes with vanilla ice cream. The service was excellent. They were very attentive to our needs and the food kept coming, our plates didn't get empty all night long. Decided to take a weekend trip to Indy for my wife's bday. The main surprise dining experience was Fogo de Chao. I was extremely excited because this would be our first time. Unfortunately, it will be our last as well. Our server was extremely nice, but this place is an unorganized MESS! Gaucho passed us up for about the first 15 minutes. It seemed like they were focused on the middle of the restaurant and not the perimeter. The neighboring table voiced their opinions about not being served any meat and ended up leaving early because of this. I felt the only way I could get a Gaucho to come over was to waive them down or make direct eye contact with them. Keep in mind we had our card flipped to green the entire time. The only Gaucho that came over regularly was the one carrying cheese. Luckily, the cheese was good. But we came here for the meat! That salad bar was just okay. I've had better at other Brazilian steakhouses. When we did get meat, it was not bad. Our favorite item was the lambchops. But, overall our experience was terrible. I felt like I disappointed my wife on her birthday with this experience. I wish the location would focus more on the customers versus trying to pack the house full. Customer Service 1-5=1. It has been 3 years since we have eaten here. Its not because of Bad service or the food, just a long drive to this establishment. That being said, when we do make the trip, I expect the service and food to match the effort of the drive as well as the price point of the meal. Sadly, this didn't happen this time. The salad bar offered amazing and wonderful options. Dessert....this is the issue that tipped the experience to bad for me. Look $ spent on a "lava" cake should be warm! Not hard as a brick on the bottom and the taste was not appealing at all. I mentioned this once we did "flag" down a server and there was not even an offer to remove the item from our Bill which was over $400. Again, it isnt the $, its the expectation of service when you spend this much on a meal and tonight that service fell extremely short. This place has a more fine dining feel than other Brazillian steakhouses we've been to. They don't do chicken hearts here, but the lamb 100% makes it worth it. All the lamb we had was so good. I also loved the salad bar. My husband didn't as much because "I couldn't load a plate with potatoes". I would absolutely go for the salad bar often if we lived closer instead of an hour away. Service was good and prompt on refilling drinks, removing emptied plates, and bringing meats. I recommend bringing a sweater if you get cold easily. Valentines Day with my amazing Wife and friends. The restaurant was very busy as one might imagine! I've never been to Fogo de Chao so first impression just looking around was quite impressive. We all had the Full Churrasco experience which came with so many items to have with your proteins. All of the staff that came by and explained the meat they had ready to carve for us were fantastic. The wait staff was very nice. The Food including dessert was excellent. The only reason I did not give this a higher rating was we all ordered coffee with our desserts and every cup came out cold! I was a bit shocked after everything before was on point. I informed the server of the situation, she rolled her eyes ( again a little shocked) and said she would bring out hot coffee, that finally came and it was better. When my bill came, I asked how the gratuity was handled, she informed me the team shares the gratuity. Like I said everyone was super, it was a busy holiday and we showed grace for the young lady. most of the meat was mid/over cooked so the lack of seasoning really stuck out. one of us got the full churrasco but the only meat they brought by that wasn't on their basic list (best of brazil?) was the lamb. and they only did it once. Had to ask for the ribeye multiple times and didn't get it until I literally stopped them after they were talking to another table. Just overall not worth it if you actually like quality meat or it cooked to the temp you request. Salad bar was actually pretty good tho. Vibes were also off because there was no music. Tried this for the first time recently while celebrating a birthday. The all-you-can-eat aspect definitely allows for you to get your moneys worth, and the meats we got to sample were of really good quality. The chicken breast in particular was really tender and had an excellent flavor. The filet mingon was cooked to our liking, but was really salt-heavy. The one frustrating aspect was related to the table-side service. The staff members themselves were really nice, but it seemed like the items came out of the kitchen in a completely random order. We'd get offered chicken two or three times before we saw steak once. Had there been an established rotation for the items, I think that would've made things more enjoyable for us. We did get a complimentary lava cake as a dessert, which was a nice way to cap things off. Ultimately, it's worth trying at least once, just be sure to bring a hearty appetite. read more

I was happy to try the cheese bread which I really liked and the cooked bananas was great too. The tip sirloin was very tasty and I liked the parmesan pork and bacon wrapped steak. Mashed potatoes were very good too. On the salad bar all tasted great and my favorite was the Brazilian street corn side. Our family visited Indianapolis for son's birthday from SF Bay Area. Had dinner on Tuesday evening to celebrate my son's birthday. I saw other reviews with candles and happy birthday writing in the plate but we didn't get one even though I mentioned to the server that we were celebrating for a birthday. The cuts of meat served was not as standard of Brazilian steaks. Most of cuts served were too tough to chew and it wasn't seasoned enough. We've been to Brazilian churrascarias but this place was least flavorful with meats weren't the highest quality. I might be spoiled by the ones in our area. And, They didn't have grilled pineapple. A long due Christmas lunch at Fogo de Chao and it didn't disappoint. You start with the salad bar which has an impeccable array of salads, vegetables, cheese and meats. I just loved the roasted peppers, zucchini, stuffed peppers, herbed feta and so much more. The service is based on flipping your card and the moment you do there's no stopping the servers. I totally enjoyed the lamb and absolutely relished the veggie and lamb combo. You are additionally served jumbo shrimp with a spicy sauce, cheese drizzled with honey and fried bananas. The place was super crowded and service was very busy. Dessert was a miss and wasn't worth the hype. All in all a great place if you enjoy a lot of meats and can eat atleast 3-4 helpings. read more

My husband and I opted for the Single Cut Churrasco and Market Table as we are unable to fully enjoy the Full experience. It is shown as a single 8-10 oz cut. Our ordered choice was Picanha. After exhausting the Market Table, we waited endlessly for the "single-cut" to be served. We asked out server if it was served from the skewers at tableside or plated. She asked our temp preference, saying she would send it out, but nothing was every produced. Finally, we just accepted the small (approximately 2 oz) given tableside. The "gaucho" was clearly not giving us 8-10 oz off the skewers. We asked about how it was served and when, with no direction. Obviously, the $90 bill (plus a generous tip) was a disappointment when we had nothing but the Market Table and 2 oz of Picanha. read more

Thanksgiving weekend was the perfect time to introduce our favorite 10 and 11 year olds to fine dining. We chose a Saturday lunch for holiday weekend birthday celebration! We prepped the boys by watching YouTube videos of the Fogo de Chao experience. We also worked in a quick study of Brazil. Our server, Marco, was incredible. Although, service is a team sport at Fogo. Our two younger guests kept the team busy flipping their cards green to try meats for the first time (like lamb chops). They enjoyed most of the meats. The warm soft small gluten-free cheese rolls was their favorite item. (Pai De Queijo) is the official name of the rolls. Very disappointing service. The people who bring the meat around were fine but there are 40 waiters standing around doing nothing. We were unable to get clean plates or really any service. We asked several times for certain cuts of meat and were told they were on their way. We never saw those cuts the entire time we were there. We came in without a reservation on a Wednesday night, took about 10 mins to get a seat. And here goes down hill from here. The waiter could barely speak loud enough and we had to keep asking what? We got sat in the corner by a kitchen entrance another couple sitting by us looked miserable. As we sat we waited almost 5 mins before someone came by our table with meat. We was constantly looked over as everyone just kept walking by not even glancing in our direction. After a few minutes we went back up to the salad bar and the ceasar lettuce mix was old and brown and had ALOT of bad parts we showed the manager he apologized and cut up new lettuce for my date, then we sat and waited again for someone else to come by. Towards the end we asked for a desert menu ordered 2 different items and they only brought out one when I asked about the other desert the waiter said sorry I forgot to put it in.
