Came here to try their tastes of Brazil special menu on a Friday at their opening time. We were seated promptly according to our reservation. The meat, however, came out very slowly at first, which meant we waited quite a bit. Each of the meats was good. The lamb and beef were by the most flavorful, however. I will say that the meat cut for me was often a little under cooked for my liking, but still had the flavor at least. The sald bar also has a lot of good options such as beans and rice, dried meats, cheeses, seafood, and salad options. For a drink, I got the blood orange Manhattan. The bourbon is very prominent, and everything was mixed well. We had one big negative moment during our visit. We had asked if the only cheese dish on the menu was coming back out again. About ten minutes went by, and another of the servers asked if the cheese made its way out yet. It had not, but he said he would see when it was coming back out for us. The next person who came to our table did have the cheese in his hands, but was visibly mad and proceeded to throw the cheese on our plate and each of the plates around that wanted it. This server seemingly wanted to take out some frustration on the customer, and I didn't appreciate having the food thrown on my plate. What saved this visit was Nick. I'm guessing he was either a server, but I'm not sure. Either way, he was super nice and friendly, very helpful, and almost seemed like he was making up for what happened earlier. I was so excited to try Foco de Chao! This was my first time ever going to one and it was fabulous. While they play up the signature option of getting a variety of meats, I was over the moon with just the single option I chose. Ther market/salad bar is excellent and lets you dive into some cuisine while you wait for your entree meats to arrive. Highly recommended! read more

Fogo De Chão is hands down my favorite Brazilian steakhouse. Immediately upon entering you're greeted to a well curated restaurant that offers a full service bar seating area, booths, and tables. There's a self service cold bar buffet style, along with rice, beans, and various other options available too. The Brazilian steakhouse has the green and red cards to denote the full flow of meats and there's plenty of options. Personally I don't eat pork or beef and found this to be still worth while. Everything well seasoned and so delicious. Our server Carlos was truly amazing too, he ensured we maintained clean plates, had water, had cocktails, and that the kitchen staff knew my meal preferences/selections. I came here for the fogo 44 deal and it was great. Quality- the pichana, crème , pork belly, mashed potatoes, and cactus fruit were my favorite. I only got medium rare-rare cuts of meat every time and it was on point. The mashed potatoes were surprisingly light and had a nice non grainy texture to it. The dessert, especially the cream and chocolate cake was worth it. Pork belly with honey was unique and never thought both could go together. Quantity- worth it for 44 bucks. This place was something else. Who ever comes here and eats a salad, you all are fools. Parking sucks! Reservations didn't matter since you get seated 40 min later. Getting checked in was a HUGE hassle. The entry/exit was packed full of people waiting or trying to get out. Diners were like cows being corralled for the slaughter house. If a fire breaks out, NO ONE is getting out through the front door. Chaotic, and NO structure at all. You have the hostess up front yelling at the top of their lungs calling for peoples names. "Jose Sanchez!!!!".......Girl there's like 20 Jose Sanchezes here. Thought this was suppose to be Brazilian fine dining.. not even close. Not a good experience from the beginning. The food was a 6/10 at best. Mashed potatoes cold, plantains on the border of being warm, and the cheese bread was nowhere to be found (servers forgot). We asked for some at the end, and they tasted stale. The outside texture was like those communion cookies you get from church. Over abundance of different meats. Never saw the rib eye that's supposedly on the menu. ALL the meats were heavily salted, and lacked in differentiating flavors. It all tasted the same, except the lamb. If you have high blood pressure.... GOOD LUCK. Who ever made the chimichurri was a little heavy handed on the vinegar. Also got my Coke 20 min later from ordering.. SMH. Will I come back?... My Son loves to go here & I don't mind cause it has a classy vibe. It is so nice & classy in this place, a great place to take someone to impress them. The service was really good. There was staff making sure we received everything we wanted. I even asked for special well done meat and they made sure I had plenty. The quality of the food was really good. It was really delish, with a market table that had a wide variety of choices. We had a really sweet spot by the bar, the club chairs were so comfortable. Extremely Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience We came to Fogo for a friend's birthday celebration and were extremely disappointed by the service and attitude of the staff. We were seated for over an hour before anyone came by with meat. When we asked for medium-well, we waited another 20 minutes -- still nothing. I eventually called the manager over to explain that we had been waiting for an hour and a half with no food being served. Her response was shockingly unprofessional -- the very first thing she said was, "Well, maybe because you asked for halal or kosher meat." I was stunned. We had never made such a request, and when I asked why she would assume that, she glanced at my friend wearing a hijab and said, "Oh, I just assumed." That kind of assumption and stereotyping is completely unacceptable. Not only was the service terrible, but the manager's comment was incredibly rude, disrespectful, and discriminatory. When my inlaws decided to visit, we decided to take them to Fogo de Chao. As meat lovers, you can not go wrong with this restaurant. We booked reservations for Sunday late lunch. Based on Yelp, I thought the location would not be busy but I was wrong. The parking was a little difficult. The parking lot is shared by a few restaurants so it can be difficult to find parking. It does not help that a lot of the parking spots were blocked for Valet parking despite me not seeing any valet people there. One would figure that valet having the closest spots booked for themselves seems counterintuitive. So I am paying you to park my car right by the entrance? No thanks...if I valet, you can park it further away and you can walk because that is what I am paying for. When we arrived inside, it was a little busy. The salad bar had plenty of options but it was not being refilled as quickly. I used to work for one of these Brazilian steakhouses and there was never a plate empty on my watch so it was sad to see no one was paying much attention to it. The meat gauchos did an amazing job. The meats were flavorful and tender and tasted the best! I have always a fan of their lamb here. This location is much better compared to other locations where I feel like I am eating beef jerky with no seasoning. This location was much better! Everything was juicy and tender. We were lucky to be sitting next to a partition so noise was not an issue. It was nice that everyone was very careful around my daughter being so young. 2nd time at a Fogo, first time in 4 years and first time at this location. We had a 630p reservation on a Saturday evening. It was booked 1 week in advance. When we arrived, the parking lot was extremely crowded, and it took us 10 minutes to find a spot. Several people in the lot trying to park were very rude and aggressive (middle fingers, yelling, etc). We got inside and had to wait another 20 minutes for a table to open up. We found 2 spots at the bar and got a drink while we waited. Our hostess and waitress were very friendly. It was our 1 year anniversary, and we received a free piece of cheesecake. Drinks were delicious, definitely try the Samba Squeeze Martini and the Superfruit Lemonade. The restaurant was clean, yet crowded. Sometimes, it felt you were on top of each other. In the end, food and drinks were both good. Wish they came by more often with pork and lamb vs. steak all the time. read more

He saw I was waiting a long time between meats being brought to my table and I was getting a little frustrated. Amazing service, fantastic food, and really a great time here. Everyone who helped us out from start to finish was really helpful, including Daniel, Jada, and Hugo, who seemed genuinely truly excited to make sure we got the best food possible. He made sure we got tons of really tasty food with lots of great variety. The lamb meatballs are incredible, so was the chicken thigh, the bottom sirloin, and the lamb chop to name a few. The only thing we didn't think was that great or worth it was some of the seafood appetizers like the shrimp and lobster. Everything else though - from the sides like mashed potatoes and fried bananas to the entrees like the many many types of steak and the pork belly - were so so flavorful and so worth it. I am a very big fan of Fogo de Chao. I have gone hundreds of times in DC and other states so this is the first time in Oakbrook, IL It was a cold raining night, Covid on the rise in the area, and about 50 of us were crammed in the doorway for over a half an hour waiting for our reservation. They shut the entire bar section down for a private event! Who does that!!! There was no place for people to wait, it was extremely uncomfortable especially after when I spoke so highly about Fogo to my date only to have a horrible experience in fact my date wanted to leave. Finally got seating after 9pm ordered drinks which took another full half hour. The seating was horrible all crammed in and there was no room to walk to exit or salad bar. I've been to Fogo many times but I went recently for a wedding. I like the Oakbrook location more than the Naperville one, seems a little more spacious. When you are seated, I recommend you get the Churrasco experience to be on the safe side. I guess there are two different options but definitely get the higher one, more bang for your buck. You can order all you can eat premium meat from a wide selection. Pro tip: don't overload on the salad bar as you'll need room for all of the meat (essentially what you're mostly paying for). Salad bar has a vast selection of greens, cheeses, cured meats, etc. You get an unlimited amount of cheesy bread, polenta, mashed potatoes, and plantains. They are all delectable. For drinks I thought the Brazilian limonade was just okay and not worth getting a second time. The Guarana soda is very good and very addicting. Meats are all good and there is something for everyone. You can get it from rare to medium well done. Make sure you get the beef ribs, one of my favorite items. The lamb chops were too salty. That's why I didn't give the food 5 stars. The service I took off a star because it took them way too long to get it to me. I saw them go to other tables and skipped over ours. Desserts are worth getting if you still have room. They're a good size so you could split between two people. Overall, still a solid choice for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Price to Experience Ratio: NOT WORTH IT. For context, we visited the location in Oak brook on a Saturday night for my friends birthday. We had an 8-person reservation for 7:45pm. 7 out of the 8 people in our reservations had to park at the Oak Brook mall because there literally were no parking spots available. We also didn't get seated till 8:20, which is absolutely unacceptable for any establishment, let alone a restaurant with this level of reputation. "Overbooking your reservations" is not a reasonable excuse, it just makes you look incompetent. Pricing: 3/5. This was the only category that I didn't feel was a complete disaster. After dining at their competitors a number of times, I was pleasantly surprised at their pricing. The drinks were not super expensive, and the salad bar was included in the unlimited meat service, which was a nice surprise. The overall experience did not cost me nearly as much as I expected it to, which was a relief considering the awful dining experience. Service: 1/5.The service was absolutely awful from beginning to end. We ordered 4 cocktails, 2 sodas, and 1 hot tea. It took over 15 minutes to get served any drinks at all, and when they finally came out, they forgot about half of the drinks. We had to separately ask for each ingredient of the tea. We had to literally beg for everything, and they consistently forgot items that we asked for. I even asked one of the managers for a desert menu, and never saw her again. Some of the worst service I have ever experienced considering how expensive the dinner was overall. Ambiance: 2/5. Aside from the 5 minute walk to get to the restaurant, the overall experience in the restaurant wasn't much better. The heat lamps outside were not turned on, so it was basically impossible to stand outside for more than a minute or two. However, there was approximately 30+ people standing in the foyer and in front of the host stand. It took another 5-10 minutes just to see the host!! It looked like a nightclub in there, everyone was standing shoulder to shoulder... We actually had to move people out of the way so we could get into the restaurant. I understand the restaurant is busy, but it was a mad house in there, and everything felt super disorganized. Food: 3/5. I have been to a couple Brazilian steak houses in the past, but I do not frequent these establishments. Fogo has come to me with such high recommendations, I really expected this dining experience to be on another level than other restaurants that I have tried. I can admit that its possible I had too high of expectations, but they seemed to fall short on every category. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. Almost every piece of steak that I was served had overwhelming amount of fat on it. There was also a number of pieces of meat that simply were not cooked correctly, both over and undercooked. The bacon wrapped steak and chicken was terrible. I cant exactly put my finger on why, but the bacon did not taste right. The blackened chicken and sausage were about the only two notable meats that we got served, and those aren't the meats that I'm coming to Fogo for.... Last thoughts: The major factor in my dissatisfaction with my experience at this restaurant comes from the price to experience ratio. The dinner cost a lot of money (over $100 per person), the experience in the restaurant did not feel nearly worth the price. From beginning to end, the dining experience at this restaurant was absolutely awful. I can't say that I would ever want to go back to this establishment. There are plenty of other options, with better food and way better service right across the street. Side Note: Having said everything I have said, I would be willing to try a different location for hopes that their staff will be more trained, and their management better equipped to handle a busy dinner rush. read more

New owners I was told, at least at this location..... First time in a Brazilian there were no plates on the table. If you didn't want the salad bar you had to go there to get a plate, I assume to get you to eat more salad and less meat. There weren't as many meat servers as I've seen in the past, I assume to get you to eat less meat. And the ones available had lots of chicken, sausage and pork and not much beef, I assume to get you to eat less beef. And the meat servers that came by often kept walking. My wife had to wave my "green card" in the air to get service. Also I only saw one server with filet or rib eye the whole night, I assume to get you to eat cheaper beef. This is in contrast to other Brazilian steakhouses I've been to. I was told that it was a very busy night, but on a weekend the tables are all full anyways so there weren't more customers to servers than any other weekend. Also it was so noisy that I couldn't hear the person across from me at a 6 person round table. The market table has one believing you are actually in Brazil ...salads..exotic fruits & veggies...farlofa was delicious....fogo feijoada which is black beans & sausage with fresh rice was yummmmy...cheeses....this is before main course..meat is carved tableside...sirloin...desert baked bananas Service was impeccable...my diet coke was 2/3 gone like magic another appears...my friend had iced tea as she had a 1/3 left in her glass...bingo a new iced tea on table without asking... Advice was mediocre at best (had to wait a while for drinks and refills), all of the steak was cooked medium well to well (medium rare was nowhere to be found), and the live music was so loud you couldn't talk to the other people at your table. Despite this one being closer to my house than others, I'll wait until fate puts me near a different one to return. I will at least vie it that ut has a more open floor plan and feels like you have more space between tables. read more

I was here for an engagement party Thursday. What a nice venue!!! Beautiful grounds, ample parking, convenient location right off the expressway...not to mention the inside of the restaurant is gorgeously appointed. I just a restaurant by its washrooms. If the washrooms are taken care of, then you know every other aspect of the place is also. Now to the food. Amazing! The selection, quality, taste, all superb. Finally, the service. Absolutely wonderful experience! Went for my brother's birthday, for lunch, and it was amazing!! The staff was very sweet and friendly. As it was our first time, they answered all of our questions and were more than helpful. Truly making it a worthwhile experience. And the food was out of this world. Everything on the market table and side bars was fresh and excellent. And the meats were exceptional. The side dishes of mashed potatoes, polenta, plantains, and pao de queijo were my favorite part. I would go back for the sides alone! We did't try any of the drinks but the dessert of Chocolate Brigadeiro is a must try. I've been a fan of the Brazilian churrascarian steakhouse experience for years now. In fact, almost 14 years ago I reviewed Fogo de Ciao in Naptown, Indiana and had nothing but good things to say. Yesterday, I went to the new Fogo here in Oakbrook Terrace. The building is a beautiful one that was very bright and open with the usual upscale decor and flourishes. But this is Fogo, which means the walls could be bare, I don't care - I'm here for the meat and the wonderfully cosseting table service. This, unfortunately, is where my experience was a letdown. As stated above, I am a regular at Fogo though I hadn't been since before the pandemic. So I was really waiting on my hands down favorite, their dry-rubbed, fire-roasted baby back ribs. Which the waiter promptly told me had been cancelled. "I'm sorry, what did you just say!?!?!?" This is the trauma my brain felt. Then she said they were experimenting with new types of pork and she would bring me out their new pork belly. Now, I am a fan of pork belly but..... This was NOT a sufficient replacement for my ribs. So I was very disappointed. The rest of the food was about as I remembered. The picanha was fine, the lamb was tender and flavorful, the ribeye was juicy, all in all the rest was cool. Then came time for dessert. Since it was my birthday,(I'm on their email list) I was told I could have whatever dessert I wanted. That's easy, I asked for their deliciously decadent chocolate mousse cake, which is a moist chocolate cake that featured white and dark chocolate mousse throughout. Which the waiter again promptly told me was cancelled. "This is just it", I said to myself as we asked for the check. I'm sorry but I was just let down. The service was ok, the food was decent but it was not what I was expecting after being a patron for over 10 years. They got rid of my favorite items so now it's time to move on. And it might be easy to say, it's a steakhouse, so why worry with the ribs or cake? Thing is, for me at least, many of the good Brazilian steakhouses serve the same or similar cuts of great meat. So for me it's the things that one serves that another does not which sets them apart. In this case, the dry-rubbed pork ribs were what set Fogo apart from others like Texas de Brazil(which is still a good chain). I am told that Chama Gaucha up the road in Downers Grove has good dry-rubbed pork ribs. I believe we are heading there to try them out the next time I get a hankering for this dining experience. read more
