Fogo is my husband's favorite spot to celebrate any occasion. Just this past year, we've been here quite a few times. On Saturday, we took my nephew out for brunch to celebrate his 18th birthday and high school graduation. It was surprisingly not that busy given the World Cup is in KC at the moment. I always request our special table right next to the ramp in the corner and the staff always fulfill our requests. The staff was professional and kind during our brunch. Garrett was the customer service manager while we were here and he came over a few times to just check in and see how we were doing which was very much appreciated! The food was fresh and delicous. We definitely ate too much! My favorite drink is the brazilian limeade and I can't recommend it enough! Our favorite desserts were the cheesecake, Tres Leches and the molten lava cake! As my friends know, I personally enjoy steak. Based on reviews, I chose this restaurant because of its great atmosphere, which made me feel relaxed as soon as I sat down. I was also in the area for a business trip, and a friend recommended it, so I decided to give it a try. The dishes were exquisite and very appetizing. I especially loved the steak. The ambience was great. You definitely felt like you were in a higher end restaurant. The market side bar would be sufficient for a meal all by itself. There is a great variety of vegetables, fruits, and salads. I had a caramilized pineapple old fashioned and it was delightful. The meats that came around to the table were flavorful and well cooked. The service by team approach is great as you are never wanting for anything. Rachel went above and beyond. The only reason for the missing star was the host that seated us. I explained that we had a reservation for their $49 special but I couldn't remember what it was called. He said that is only offered at lunch. He finally said it was available and said it is this and pointed to the $69 full market. Much later, someone else came in and sat behind us and said they had reserved the $49 taste of Brazil and the waiter said "okay perfect". If you're a meat lover, Fogo de Chão is basically heaven on a skewer From the moment we sat down, the experience was seamless. Servers in traditional attire glided through the dining room offering perfectly grilled cuts of beef, lamb, chicken, and more--all carved tableside. The picanha was easily my favorite: juicy, tender, and seasoned just right. Pro tip: flip that card to green and come hungry! The Market Table is a dream. Fresh greens, smoked salmon, imported cheeses, cured meats, and seasonal fruits--it's honestly worth visiting even if you're not a meat-eater. Everything was fresh and beautifully arranged (you'll want to take pictures!). Don't even get me started on the sides. The pão de queijo (cheese bread) was warm and chewy, the creamy mashed potatoes were decadent, and the caramelized bananas added a sweet surprise that cut through all the richness. To top it off, we ended the meal with their signature papaya cream and tres leches cake--both light, smooth, and not overly sweet. Just enough to round off the meat feast. I've never been to fogo but heard great things about. My mother in law and I have been talking about going so as her Christmas gift my fiancé and I said we would take her. Honestly at most restaurants I feel rushed in and out but fogo does such a great job of letting you eat from the market table and you can stop and start your at table meat service. All the food was amazing and I wish I could have fit more in my stomach! The market table (cold salads, vegetables, and charcuterie) was so awesome and the hot sides they bring as well were amazing! For the experience and price (it came out to about $100 pp) it was so worth it. The space is also very open so it doesn't feel too busy especially with the servers walking around with the table service. We finished the meal with their cheese cake which was incredible. My husband and I recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary, and we chose this restaurant because we wanted to make the occasion special. When making the reservation, I specifically noted that this was our 30th anniversary and that it was an important milestone for us. Since this was our first visit and the restaurant is not inexpensive, we were looking forward to a memorable experience. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty, which we thought would make for a quiet, intimate evening. Unfortunately, we were seated at a table directly in front of a pillar that blocked much of the view, including the salad bar area. We were given menus, but little was explained about them. We were never offered a wine list or informed about bottle selections, and no one acknowledged our anniversary. During the meal, another server stopped by and asked if we needed anything. I asked whether the restaurant did anything special for anniversaries. She was very kind and explained what normally should have happened. She must have spoken with the manager because the manager came to our table shortly afterward. She apologized, confirmed that she had seen the anniversary note on the reservation, and said she would speak to the person who seated us about reading reservation details more carefully. She also stated that she would "make it right." While I appreciated the apology, the manager never introduced herself by name or explained what she intended to do to correct the situation. At the end of the meal, we discovered that $40 had been removed from our bill. While the discount was appreciated, it missed the point entirely. As a seasoned manager myself, I believe the better approach would have been to personally invite us back and ensure that our next visit would receive the level of attention and celebration that should have happened the first time. That would have demonstrated genuine care and a desire to earn back our trust and business. This wasn't about getting something free. It was about recognizing an important life milestone and delivering the experience that was promised when the reservation details were provided. We left feeling disappointed and overlooked on a day that meant a great deal to us. Unfortunately, our first impression of this restaurant was not the special anniversary experience we had hoped for. read more

Absolutely unforgettable birthday dinner! As a manager of a very busy diner in Suisun, CA, I don't say this lightly: the service at Fogo de Chão was next-level outstanding. We came in to celebrate my birthday and did both the Churrasco Experience and the Indulgence Experience, and wow--every single bite was absolutely delicious. The meats were perfectly cooked, flavorful, and kept coming at just the right pace. The Market Table and indulgent add-ons really took the experience over the top. But what truly made the night memorable was our server, Clay. Clay was attentive, warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun--he made us feel celebrated from the moment we sat down. You can tell when someone truly loves what they do, and Clay absolutely does. He elevated the entire evening and turned a great meal into an amazing experience. The salad bar that has all sorts of delicious options to choose from is amazing and always fresh. The atmosphere is relaxed fine dining at a reasonable price and you get your money worth. The Brazilian limeade is soooo delicious. All the lamb and steak and chicken and sausage and bacon wrapped meats I mean you get nice and full. The wait staff is fantastic! With the price of beef going up I think it's well worth it. Usually, I'm not a fan of Brazilian Steakhouses. I've had some TERRIBLE experiences. I dub them "Walk around meat". We came here for a Sister's birthday. I was pleasantly surprised by everything! Our waitstaff was amazing and kept us well informed. The lady that had the grilled cheese, give her a raise! The food was tasty and the salad bar had everything you could imagine on it. What a fantastic upper end experience. Situated in the beautiful Country Club district, amongst the gorgeous Spanish Moroccan architecture and bountiful shopping. In spite of not having reservations, we were seated immediately. The staff all take care of you - so if your original server is busy, someone else will come over and make sure you have what you need; that was cool as we had the opportunity to meet four or five different people, not to mention the staff going around with the meats on the skewers, who were universally polite. A plethora of meat selections as well as a salad bar that you could easily choose as your entire meal. I had the cauliflower steak (I know, I went to a Brazilian bbq spot and had the vegetarian entree) - it was VERY GOOD. My friend had the traditional meats on the sticks extravaganza. Was a little disappointed that a fancy Old Fashioned that was on the menu was not available (out of pineapple?) and that the bartender didn't come up with something equally interesting to sub - just gave me a standard Old Fashioned - boo. Took my son there for lunch on Wednesday, has always enjoyed going out to eat at this location (had terrible experiences in Las Vegas and San Jose locations before); but this one was definitely an exception. Food is always good at Fogo de Chão. Services can be something else... One of the guys (the one wearing glasses) that bringing out meat to serve guests was extremely rude and downright hostile; 1st time he came through we turned down the chicken he was offering (at the time there were multiple people bringing food out on the floor), he told us that if we didn't want what he was offering, we should have had the little cards flipped to the 'red' side, and he actually went ahead and flipped the cards on our table to red side after telling us; he came back the next round, I asked for medium well, he told me they did not offer medium well, medium was the best he could do; and throughout the whole lunch, he came through the floor multiple rounds with T-bone steak, did not even bother to swing by our table. He acted very arrogant and hearing him interact with some other eaters at surrounding tables, we could definitely tell he thought very highly of himself. read more

What an amazing experience! I've visited so many Brazilian steakhouses and am always leery of what will happen, but our visit was nothing short of wonderful, minus the bar service. Still giving this place 5 stars in spite of the terrible bartenders, and below you will see why.... We arrived with a large private party. It was open seating and we were LUCKY enough to sit in Brennan's section. He was so kind and polite and made sure we were taken care of the entire time we were there. Very relatable and just really took the time to ensure we had a great experience, even though it was so loud because there were so many of us! He did remind us of our age, letting us know that any of us could have been his teacher, lol! The charcuterie salad bar is typical - nothing overly special or exciting. The corn was cold which I've never had before, but I didn't really focus on the salad bar because I knew that the goodness was coming in the form of skewered goodness! We were not disappointed-the house prime, the bacon wrapped sirloin, the Parmesan pork, the garlic steak, the chicken, the sausage, the pork chops, the lamb (according to my table, I don't eat lamb), fried cheese, Brazilian cheese bread, the mashed potatoes and the caramelized bananas....everything was so delicious. And then, after ALL OF THAT, they bring our dessert. The chocolate braggadocio(sp) and cheesecake were to die for and really we all got dessert to go because we were stuffed. The waiters and waitresses, the bussers, the manager....EVERYONE was awesome, except the bartenders. They need a lesson in kindness and personableness. Perhaps they were both having a bad day at the same time. Who knows. Still the same as my last review. There was a time when Fogo De Chao in KC was proud of their service. It was a challenge to them to make you happy and full. I can remember the Gaucho teasing us saying "You can't be done yet!" Now, the restaurant is stingy with the Lamb cuts. Some of the servers almost act bothered when requests are made. I'm paying decent sum of money for lunch. I want Lamb chops. I can only eat about 8 double chops. Just bring them out like a customer asks. I make my preference clear when I sit down. It's still a struggle. Then they bring out Chops and take them to the other side of the room first. I saw the server look over at me, then go to the other side of the room anyway. Seemed out of spite. Could just be me. I ate at Fogo in New Orleans over the summer. It was nothing like this. They just brought whatever I asked for. Could have ordered a few more like I normally do on Fogo trips. (I travel for work across the US biweekly so Fogo is a goto for the consistency) So I wait another 10. Then i approach the host stand to ask for help. Another 5 minutes fade. Another server drops my check off at my table. Im at the host stand. So I go grab it, can't find the server that dropped it off to reconcile the check. Luckily, the bar staff immediately picks up the slack for the floor team. I will not be back to this location. We would not see him again. *If you get the Churrasco Experience you may have a fine time.* I tried some of the meats and they were mostly enjoyable. The staff slicing it was friendly and attentive. I had the Chilean Sea Bass because I love sea bass. All I can say is that it tasted wet. The asparagus it came with was quite burnt. Is the food good, yes! Is the staff pleasant, for the most part. Is it expensive, well yeah. Is it worth it, for the most part. I was lucky enough to be treated to dinner here. By far, if you enjoy a savory and flavorful variety of meat, you should be more than happy dining here. The food, as one could imagine and hope, was delicious as long as we are talking about the meat options. The salad bar is nice for an appetizer but felt a bit bland or lacking. What stood out to us the most was the lack of follow through with the waiter we had, I guess he is newer, and the bar. After being sat and ordering a round of drinks, we got nothing for just about 45 minutes. We even noticed a few parties after us who had the same waiter order drinks and be served before us. When we had a chance to check in with the waiter about our drinks, he was quick to put the blame on the bar saying they did not know what they were doing. Someone in our party ordered a mocktail and someone else from the restaurant overheard how displeased we were with how long we were waiting to get our drinks that he just brought her the mocktail himself. I am not really sure what to say about the service. Everyone was more than pleasant and beyond helpful aside from out waiter. Those coming around with the meat and the man who brought my friend her mocktail within what felt like 5 minutes of overhearing us, they were the real MVPs and stars of the show. I get that some places split the tips, but I feel like it would be unjustified for our waiter to earn anything north of 10% of the tip I left when the rest of the staff performed above and beyond in general. I cannot forgot to talk about the drinks, once they finally came out. I am a whiskey fan and I am happy to say they know what they are doing here. Even to the extent that I ordered some that I would never normally drink and everything was smooth and delicious. The harder drinks were not a let down, the sweet drinks were not overpoweringly sweet, and the Manhattan (which I normally hate) was one that I would order again even against better judgment. I do want to add that there was another server who was walking around with digestifs offering drinks (again, delicious). I just would hope that he would be more clear that the concoctions he makes and gives out are not free. He made it sound like he was just trying out recipes and mixtures and wanted our feedback. Regardless, it ended up being about $500 for 4 of us including alcohol and the somewhat hidden cost of digestifs. Would I come back, oh yeah! Do I hope I end up with a different waiter, yes please! I had eaten at Fogo de Chão to celebrate my fiancé's birthday and our server Maddie only greeted us whilst being there. Food was very delicious, but Maddie never once checked in on us throughout our dinner, kept walking past us, never filled up our waters, but kept checking in on her other tables, TERRIBLE server!!! We had other servers filling up our waters but never once did Maddie come to check on us. We waited a little over 20 minutes on our check and had to get someone else to get our check for us.
