Excellent! Food was outstanding and our waitress was so friendly. She responded to our every request with a smile. We had the small portion turkey dinner. It came with soup or salad and two vegetables. I couldn't finish mine it was so much food. It came with a choice of pudding or jello for dessert. Ate here for the first time. Went with the whole family. Wish I had taken pictures to be posted but maybe next time. First, I love diners. I can get flounder, someone else a reuben, an omelet, lasagna, etc. Only at a diner can you do that. This place provides a service to the area and Chester Pike. You have to drive to Ridley Park for next one on Chester Pike. I'm old enough to remember the old diner in Norwood that burned down. We were seated at once, a young man took our drink order. Server "Erin" came over and introduced herself to us. We ordered a variety of things. Oddly, no one got breakfast(about 5:00pm). Everything was good, large portions with good presentation on plating of entrees. Place is brightly lit, pleasant and clean. The staff we encountered were very nice. When eating we were approached by a woman who may have been the manager, owner? She checked to see if we were happy. We were too full for desert. I did get coffee, medium strength, very smooth. Have visited the Folcroft Diner twice for a quick dinner with friends. The menu is huge!! Entrees consists of dinners of chops, steaks, pasta, etc or sandwiches..i swear there must be 200 items on the menu. The dinner are very large potions. I have yet to finish a meal. Dinners include soup or salad, rolls, and dessert. Wait until you see all the desserts! Restaurant and restrooms are clean and wait staff are knowledgeable and friendly. This diner would be mine and my families definite go to spot if it weren't for a few things. Number 1 the treatment of the waitstaff is hetrocious. I have witnessed on a few occassions the waitstaff be literally screamed at by the head manager. Ive also had a few words with her myself only in turn for my sister to be upfront and hear the manager complaining about our situation to her hostess. My sister said all she kept hearing was that she was so upset I had yelled at her and she just didnt understand why it happened. Well it happened because you got snippy with me and gave me a terrible attitude and because i witnessed her do this several times andd like i said i watched her demean her waitstaff out on the open floor, i just couldn't bite my tounge. What happened to the customer is always right, i guess that only applies to their continuous daily customers. I also dislike how if you sit at the counter you hear nothing but the waitresses curse, complain, and bicker back and forth. Food is good sometimes, however it seems to lower its yumminess after about 8pm dont dare eat there overnight youll ve lucky to get something close to what you ordered. Then the waitress will try to persuade you to keep what was brought, weird. If i wanted that id of ordered it but hey i guess im nuts. Night manager isnt too polite either. The only one who is was the young man upfront but he also seems very unhappy at times. Ive heard it not a good atmosphere to work it and its a shame its a good family style large portioned diner. Shame i think ill stick to aston diner i heard theyre sister restaurants. read more

Excellent diner. The owner is amazing and the food is exceptional. My husband and I frequented the diner and always asked for Stephanie, the best server we ever had anywhere. She is very, very attentive and nice. We always get the chicken parm with spaghetti and bring our own wine. The platter is huge and the chicken parm is to die for. Tender, juicy and delicious. They are really trying to get off to good start. So far so good. I had a veal pasta, tomato and pepper dish. Wife had chicken in cheddar and broccoli over rice. Veal and chicken both very tender and could be cut with fork. Brocolli crispy and not mushy. The only possible negative was salad could use more cucumbers and such but ranch dressing was good. Prices are reasonable and service is good. We will try breakfast next. read more

This is my favorite diner!! Not just for breakfast food, although thus far thiers cant be beat!! I ordered a steak "rare" thinking it would come out med rare, but came out exactly as I ordered to my surprise..hard to get a perfectly cooked steak at a diner in my past experience. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. I also ordered the crab cake, had pure lump crab meat with barely any fillers. I have never had a bax meal here yet..highly recommended!!! read more

My husband and I swore we wouldn't be back but it was so late and you're so close. So so glad we returned. Our last visit about a month ago for lunch was TERRIBLE!! The waitress was more worried about her phone and actually textd at our table. Well last night was wonderful. We explained our last experience to our waitress Tracy. Wow, what an excellent experience! I was turned on to the Folcroft Diner by multiple different people, which says a lot in and of itself as it hasn't been open but a week! Not only was the Diner beautiful and comfortable, but the food far exceeded my expectations. It was me and four others, and not only did we all agree on how excellent all the food tasted, but also how generous the food portions were. Above all else, what really blew us away was the level of professionalism and hospitality our server Sarah displayed. Not only was she timely with everything but also very friendly. Never once did we feel rushed, in fact she made us feel even more comfortable. I will always be asking for her when I return. Now unfortunately I have given this review 4 stars instead of 5. Upon entering, I was surrounded by at least 5 hostesses....none of which bothered to greet and or seat us. Now normally it wouldn't be much of a big deal, until it happened again when we went to leave. As we attempted to pay for our meal, multiple hostesses sat directly behind the register with there head in there phones completely ignoring me standing directly in front of them. All in all it was an excellent experience. The place is very clean, the food is great, my server was excellent! I will be sure to let everyone know to try the Folcroft Diner and I will most definitely be back for more. read more

CONS: FLIES - We've been here 4 times and we've begun referring to Folcroft Diner as the "Fly-Farm Diner". There are flies everywhere, particularly if you sit in a booth by the windows. It's not that the place isn't clean, it is. But I've never seen the number of flies in an eating establishment that Foclroft Diner attracts. When they seat you by the window they really need to give you a fly-swatter. While this may not promote the image they had hoped, at least customers would be able to kill the files so they could eat their meal in peace. HANDICAPPED PARKING: The point of handicapped parking is to put the parking spaces closest to the entrance. This isn't a convenience that business offer to their disabled customers, it's the law: "Accessible spaces must connect to the shortest accessible route to the building entrance or facility they serve..." - there are 6 spots right in front of the entrance and none of them are handicapped parking. Of the 4 spots this diner has reserved for handicapped parking, all are down at the far end of the building (2 are wrapped around the side of the building, but worse, there is an incline/decline from those spots to the entrance. An able-bodied person isn't even going to notice this, but for those who use walking devices such as crutches, canes or even wheel-chairs, this can be somewhat challenging and painful. There's no reason not to have the handicapped spots right in front of the door. PROs: The food here is decent. The portion sizes are huge. The waitstaff is competent and mostly friendly and as mentioned already, (despite the flies) the place is clean. read more
