Mamazul is a lovely Mexican restaurant in the Flatiron area and is affiliated with La Cava Wine Bar. A friend and I stopped in during the week and grabbed seats at the bar, which turned out to be the perfect spot to relax and unwind. I ordered a refreshing cocktail made with cucumber and other fresh juices, and it was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was inviting, and we never felt rushed, which made it easy to sit, chat, and enjoy our afternoon. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a stylish and welcoming design that adds to the overall experience. While we didn't have a meal this time, the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic, and the patrons around us seemed very happy with their food. If you're in the Flatiron neighborhood looking for a great cocktail and a pleasant place to spend some time, Mamazul is definitely worth a visit. And I know I will be back to try the fajitas and guacamole

Went here on a Friday night; I had a reservation for 7 pm, but I don't know if the reservation was necessary. There seemed to be quite a few available tables. The space is really cool; great for a party. The staff was very friendly. The chips and salsa were great. I got the fajitas; the chicken was moist, but not very flavorful, so I added some salsa on top of it. The vegetables, however, were seasoned well. I might try steak fajitas next time. They do not have Coca Cola on their menu. I don't think they have any soft drinks at all, but perhaps I misunderstood the waitress.

I've been to this restaurant many times and strictly based on its great location and outdoor seating. Every time I come the prices seem to be higher. $40 for fajitas that came with 4 tortillas, peppers onions and shrimp. That's it. No rice or beans. Just veggies and shrimp. We also ordered the empanada sampler for an app.. $24 for 3. One of our guests ordered the pork chop which was a thin cut and overcooked. I think this is just a tourist trap..

I would actually give 3.5stars. We went there for brunch while our NYC trip. Interesting desisions in interior design, very polite waiters. Around 11am we were second table of customers, so our order came fairly quick. But place filled in pretty fast. We had some margaritas, followed by their signature omelette and classic eggs Benedict. My eggs Benedict were overcooked, so they apologized and changed the dish. Service was quick, food was fine. As I understood, it's quite popular in the evening, as they have a small show, so probably will have to visit during our next trip.

Came here for my bffs bday, found it after looking for places in the area to eat that are open past 11pm. He wanted Mexican so this was the place. Very impressed from the start. Excellent service and attention to detail. I pride myself in service because I work in the industry. Right away our server came and got our appetizer order & drinks. Water was already being poured by another server as we are ordering, again- the little things. The food came out fast and tasted so good. Yummy. We ordered main courses and a dessert for the bday boy. The staff sang happy birthday and then gave our table of 6 free patron shots. Whoaa Good looking people eating, chillin & working there. Very nice. Dope music and decor also. I really had no critiques. Our bill came out to $470 including drinks & tip. What a great night. A big hit.

My coworker and I stopped in for lunch before a meeting, and it was absolutely worth it. The venue is aesthetically pleasing, and everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. We sat at the bar and ordered the spritz, which were delicious. I had the chicken chorizo quesadilla, and it was packed with flavor--something I would order again. My coworker got the birria tacos and enjoyed his meal as well. The staff was attentive throughout our visit, and overall, I'd definitely recommend this spot for a tasty, satisfying lunch.

My friends and I had a brunch reservation here before the Mexican parade in Manhattan this past weekend and I absolutely loved this spot! The inside is decorated so beautifully, with colorful mosaics, and art pieces that give a nod to rich Mexican culture. We were seated and served quickly, ordering guacamole to start and cocktails for the table. I had a Besame Mucho, which I found a little bitter, my friend had a Mangazo, which was super sweet and viscous like a mango, and my other friend had a Passion Fritz. Later, I had an El Mexicano, which was delicious! The guacamole was good, and I appreciated the seasoned chips, as well as fried plantain chips that were inside the dip for us. I had the fish cerviche, which was so fresh tasting and had good sized pieces of fish inside, served in a cute glass. My friend had the steak and eggs, and we all agreed the flavor of the steak was wonderful. The real star in my opinion was my other friends order: Chilaquiles with carnitas added on. Wow. If it's brunch time and you're wondering what to get, don't hesitate, just get this (with carnitas if you like meat). Melt in your mouth tender. I'm coming back here, and I'm ordering more cocktails and food!! Thank you Mamazul!

Bryan was the absolute best and most attentive person that has ever helped me anywhere! He made sure we were always taken care of and listened to all our needs and questions! 100000/10

Mamazul Mexican Grill is NOT your regular Mexican spot. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is different dim lights, calm atmosphere, beautiful bar setup, and the seating is just right. It feels like a whole experience, not just dinner. Now let's talk about the food the guacamole? 10/10. And I don't say that lightly. There's guacamole that's just "okay"and then there's THIS one. So fresh, so flavorful I could've ordered another one just for myself. The tacos were delicious, packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The drinks? Amazing. Perfect buzz, not too strong, not too weak just right And dessert OMG The churros sealed the deal crispy , sweet and their tres leche so makes it more amazing Honestly, 10000/1000. I'll definitely be back let's not forget the service was amazing very attentive my drink was never empty she'll always come by and ask if I need another one .

Hey friends! I met up with some friends here for dinner. Mamazul is an upscale, aesthetically pleasing restaurant offering traditional Hispanic dishes. I started with a La Niña Fresa($22) cocktail. It was so refreshing. The ingredients came together perfectly. I really appreciate cocktails that barely taste like alcohol but still get the job done! I ended up ordering a second one, it was that good! For my entree I ordered the tiger shrimp quesadillas ($28). The tiger shrimp was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I would've appreciated more cheese and toppings in the quesadillas, I only tasted shrimp and the tortilla. -Customer service was okay. Our waiter lacked personality and enthusiasm. -The ambiance is perfect for date night. Low lighting and soft music. -Very pricey. -Indoor and outdoor seating available. -Limited parking, it's NY lol. I would definitely return when in NY again. Hope you enjoy. With love, The Picky Pescatarian

Great place for Mexican food and for drinks with a friend! We arrived right before happy hour ended and our waitress was kind enough to let us still take advantage and even order a second round a few minutes after happy hour ended. We started with the guac which was very flavorful. For my main, I ordered shrimp, fish, and chicken tacos which were all very tasty. I don't like corn tortillas and they were able to give me flour which made it even better. I didn't think I'd be full afterwards but it was actually the perfect amount of food. We were able to sit outside and still got excellent service. The outdoor seating is on the street but blocked off so you didn't feel too cramped or bothered by people walking on the street.

I didn't eat much here but everything I had was tasty . Not a huge Mexican fan but I was starving after my hair appt . While dining I spotted someone with the biggest margarita and immediately wanted one so I got my friends to meet me there . Lol . The guacamole was good (but can you mess up guacamole?) I did like my tacos and that margarita (forgot to take a pic) And the bill was cheap !

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.
