What a treat it is to eat here! Located 1 block west of the Gettysburg Square, it is centrally located with street parking available. The food is delicious, and the servers are quite helpful. Check it out! I'll be back for certain!

Was visiting my old alma mater after being in Baltimore and found this spot to eat. I hate that this place opened the year I graduated as it is phenomenal! We got the Hummus and pita to start Via the waiter's suggestion, I got the Fennel sausage & broccolini pizza. His suggestion was on point as this pizza was the perfect size, delicious and reminded me of something from the North End in Boston.

We were meeting friends in Emmitsburg, MD who were coming from New York (and we were coming from Baltimore), and we decided to go to Gettysburg for a late lunch. We rely on reviews for guidance and always look for the number one restaurant in any city we visit. We hit the jackpot with Food 101. We had a party of 6. We arrived at 4:30 PM, and the restaurant was empty at that time; however, it filled up quickly. We were warmly greeted and seated at a table for 6. Jeff, our sever, delivered great service. Our compliments to the Chef. The food is just sooo good. You could taste fresh, high-quality ingredients in every dish that came out of the kitchen - and the care that went into them. Our lunches were wonderful. We enjoyed the Wild Mushroom White Pizza, Apple Cheddar Chicken Sandwich, La Cubana, Club 101, and 2 Chicken Avocado Sandwiches. One in our party ordered the Cauliflower 101, which were tempura battered pieces of cauliflower with sesame seeds in a sweet & sour sauce. He shared it with all of us - what an interesting and delicious dish with just a little kick to it. They only had 4 desserts left, and we took them all: - a Chocolate Torte, Ricotta Cake, and 2 Cheesecakes. The perfect sweet endings to our sumptuous meals. What was also special is that the restaurant is BYOB, which we really like! Everyone was so pleased that I chose Food 101 for our lunch. Thank you for making this a home run!

Lunch today at Food 101 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. My husband had the Club 101 Sandwich (house roasted, hand carved turkey breast, applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, chipotle mayo, wheat berry bread) and truffle fries. I had the Vegetable Powerhouse Sandwich (Roasted zucchini, squash, eggplant, red peppers, smoked portabella, avocado, fresh mozzarella, romaine lettuce, oven-dried tomato aioli, wheat berry bread). Our food was delicious and service was excellent! Inside seating is small but they also have outdoor seating available. Great lunch!

We stopped in on our way through Gettysburg. Parking was a bit of a pain in terms of trying to feed a meter but it was worth it. Great non-chain fare. Loved the apple turkey panini! Definitely worth stopping by! The staff were super cool and trying really hard too.

Fried Brussels Sprout side - large enough to share!

Do not miss this great Gettysburg eating spot. This was my third visit in about a year -- twice with friends pre-pandemic, and this time with my family now that things are starting to open up in PA -- and we have all been impressed and delighted by the food and service. Last night's dinner was ordered online (easy checkout) for pickup. Showed up way early to pick it up, but didn't have to wait long for it to be ready. Everything was packaged for easy transport back to our hotel room, and the food was EVERYTHING we wanted it to be after a long work day and evening road trip. My daughter had a build-your-own roasted red pepper and broccolini 10-inch pizza on a perfectly crisp dough with a red sauce that had her licking her lips and fingers. She managed to finish half and is already eying the leftovers for breakfast. The hubs got the Club 101 -- one of my favorites from my last visit -- thickly sliced turkey, crisp bacon, and perfectly ripe avocado on toast. Classic, but executed perfectly. The side of fruit was also fresh and generous. My dinner was a chief's special -- seared bistro steak with sautéed broccoli and mushrooms. It comes with a potato and chickpea hash, but I sub'd for more veggies and was happy to see they really did add more (most places skimp on you when you ask for something like that). The steak was so tender and cooked exactly as requested -- they even pre-sliced it, which was great because trying to cut a steak with plastic cutlery isn't fun! It was a very helpful touch and didn't take away from the steak's juiciness at all. We all shared a side of fried Brussels sprouts, which were crisp and lightly battered and paired nicely with the spicy mustard/horse radish sauce it came with. Theres very limited seating inside, and the space is tight so distancing would be near impossible. But when you pick up your food, you'll be able to see the interesting photos and art on the walls, which I always find cheerful. Curbside pickup means you don't really get to sit and enjoy the atmosphere, but it's worth it -- and the food travels well! Ours didn't even last long enough for me to get many photos! There are menus on the door outside, so even if you just stop by, you can check it out and decide what you want before going in to place your order. These are weird times, but the staff was friendly and helpful, just as they have been in the past. Everyone had their masks on -- and on the right way! -- as did the other guests who were stopping in to order/pick up.

Really great meal. Fresh ingredients and a great menu selection. They even have a separate vegan menu if you ask. We had the powerhouse sandwiches vegan style with fries. Delicious! We are looking to go back again soon and order more of their vegan dishes. Our family who are not vegan really enjoyed their selections as well. We did take away and the person who helped us was very nice. Restaurant was full. Always a good sign. Looks like a nice place inside and it looks like they have outdoor picnic tables. Highly recommend!

    Scottish salmon and curry chicken

Food 101 is among our favorites in Central PA and continues to impress. We loved the cauliflower appetizer so much the last time we ordered it again. The Scottish salmon was good but outdone by the curry chicken. We savored the mango tart to cap off an excellent meal. Attentive service. We will be back.

Scottish Salmon - prepared well. Would like a little more heat!
    Dean M.

My husband had the shrimp orzo and I had the Scottish orzo. The base were pretty much the same except the shrimp had more ingredients that added to the overall flavor. The dressing on the salmon was a little lack luster as it says that it included jalapeños, I was expecting a bit of a kick. Overall, the meals were prepared and cooked well, but there could more to the flavor palette that would make it a signature dish. Service was nice and personable not only to use, but we noticed that they both were having fun conversations with their patrons. Service 5 Food 4 Value 4

We all shared a fried pickle app. Fried pickles were standard with a house made dill type dip. Dip was good but portion could be a bit larger. Poutine was ok. I'm not a fan of cornstarch dusted fries-so there's that. The short rib was tender and plentiful. Oddly, though the short rib and the gravy didn't have a very beefy flavor. So the poutine was sadly underwhelming in my point of view. The portion is large enough to definitely share. My daughter's chicken thigh sandwich was good. She thought it was flavorful the sauce on. It was nothing to write home about. The house made chips were OK. My mom's cheeseburger looks really good. It was cooked just as she ordered. She said it was very tasty. It came with like a barbecue sauce on it, but she said overall was very good. They have a rather large drink menu with products from their distillery. The prices were not crazy. That skillet of poutine was $16. Total bill for three of us with fountain sodas an iced tea, our bill was $82. They have a bar it is somewhat kid friendly so give it a try.

I can't tell you how many times that medium is what I usually get when requesting medium-rare at restaurants. There's a big difference between the two in terms of internal temperature, center color, and texture. This place knows how to properly cook a medium-rare burger, and for me, that's a sign of quality and sets it apart. The sidewinder fries are fab as are the homemade potato chips and either comes with burgers. The dressing on the coleslaw needs some seasoning, but the slaw itself is fresh and crunchy. The Maryland crab soup is pretty slammin', too. I favor the back dining room, not the bar (in front). These 2 areas have different vibes. The back room feels like the way a burger joint should be. The bar is, well, more bar-ish. One of the servers, Brody, provides exceptional service--a shout out to him. It was nice because we didn't wait long to be served and we had I nice view of the entire restaurant. A very rustic place that looked as I would imagine it did in 1863. We came in about an hour before closing, and our server Aedan was absolutely wonderful. She was energetic, sweet and attentive, and never made us feel rushed. Easily some of the best service we've had in a long time. We started with the Supreme Nachos, and these are definitely meant to SHARE! They were HUGE and absolutely loaded. The housemade chips were incredibly crispy, and I loved the addition of banana peppers. They added a tangy bite and different kind of heat alongside the jalapeños. Some of the best nachos we've had outside of a Mexican restaurant, and our table of four still only finished about half! My mother-in-law got the Reuben with onion rings and said it was the BEST Reuben she's ever had. That says a lot because it's one of her usual orders when eating out. She especially loved how flavorful and tender the corned beef was. My husband got the Tuesday special of 3 steak tacos for $10. The steak was tender and tasted like quality cuts of beef. His only criticism was that it could use more seasoning and that a housemade spicy ranch or signature sauce could really take the tacos to the next level. I got the fish and chips, and the haddock was MASSIVE! The thin, crispy batter stayed perfectly attached, and the fish was hot, flaky and tender. The very thin tail end was slightly dry, but it was such a small portion that it didn't take away from the meal. The biggest surprise was their housemade tartar sauce. Creamy, tangy and slightly sweet from the relish. Hands down my favorite tartar sauce I've had! The seasoned battered waffle fries were also delicious, and they give you a TON. The coleslaw wasn't personally my preferred style since I like a finely minced, sweeter and juicier slaw, while theirs was longer shredded and drier, but that's completely personal preference. Portions here are HUGE, so several meals could easily be shared or give you plenty of leftovers. We also loved the cozy neighborhood pub atmosphere with exposed brick, dark wood, baseball and Eddie Plank memorabilia, and moodier lighting. Between the food, atmosphere, huge portions and especially Aedan's wonderful service, Gettysburg Eddie's has officially earned a spot in our Gettysburg rotation. We can't wait to come back!
