Great location but not a great food experience! Came here before a show at the Majestic. They are severely lacking on staff - there was one waitress for the entire place who also seemed to be the bartender. She was busy so she couldn't check on us; if she had, the food may have been better. We each got sandwiches. I asked if a side salad could be substituted for a side and the answer was NO! It was weird, why couldn't I get that? I got the portobello panini. The flavor was ok, the mushroom was pretty touch but if I cut it with a knife it was okay. The BLT was specifically asked for crispy bacon and it was the floppiest, fattest bacon. My bf just pulled it off. Anyway this was not a great experience. The hotel restaurant in the middle of Gettysburg I'm sort of curious about this. I had a nice meal here but there was no one else in it when other places had lines. It is done in a minimalist decor and dim tones which after spending a few hours hiking around in the sun is nicely refreshing. a lunch runs $13-$17 and i had a Reuben and a beer. I'm used to Reubens being fairly tall, this was flat but filling and the flavor was fine. Just off to one side through a door is the hotel bar which looks nice but is so ornate that it stands out awkwardly from the more spartan surroundings. The rest room is a little bit of a hike through the hotel but that was really the only issue I had. The fact it was empty in the middle of the day, with tourists all around, and literally right in the middle of town made me wonder 'what do they know that i don't?' But for my part I had a nice, relaxed lunch in a pleasantly cool and dark location. Would I go there again? Sure. read more

One of my first 1-star reviews in a while and I feel bad about that. But this was just a bad all-around experience. With respect to food, I ordered the tofu stir fry. The menu description indicates it's a variety of veggies "served over basmati rice." Consequently, I thought it would be a good amount of large veggie pieces served on top of rice. What I got instead was essential fried rice. The veggies were finely chopped and mixed in with the rice. I was very unhappy with this dish and the false description. But despite my disappoint with the food, what was the worst part of eating here was the service. Every part of the dining experience was delayed. Drinks ordered at the start took 20+ minutes to arrive such that the ice in my drink was already halfway melted. Dinner took well over an hour to be served. And the amount of time it took for our waitress to figure out our checks was comical. I honestly don't know if that was her first day or she and the restaurant simply didn't care about customer service. But do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. read more

Really between 3 and 4 stars here. Located within the hotel we stayed at, I made a reservation for Saturday night under the assumption it would be very busy and we would need one. Upon checking in, it was pretty much dead which told me either people eat earlier, or other people knew something we didn't as first timers. We were immediately sat and ordered drinks. I got a maple old-fashioned which was good. We decided on two appetizers to share: crab dip and burrata. The burrata was good - though I would have liked to have more tomatoes - the ratio wasn't comparable. The crab dip was very underwhelming: just like white paste. Very disappointing. For my entree I ended up going with the Delmonico steak. The potatoes (all three of them) were unseasoned. The broccolini was good. Steak was cooked medium, but just standard. I asked for a side of bacon Mac and cheese which they ended up giving a huge portion. This was solid - needed more seasoning. It was ok - would recommend trying it. read more

Food was disappointing. Hangar steak was almost inedible- very chewy (cooked medium- maybe I should have ordered it medium rare). Brussels sprouts just boiled - no seasoning. One of the main reasons we stayed at the hotel was the restaurant attached that had vegan options, as we found them to be limited in town. The lunch options outweighed dinner, so unfortunately we only had two things to choose from, but they these were pretty good. The chairs were not comfortable and we needed to change tables, however the staff understood and were very accommodating. read more

A nice, clean, comfortable place that is part of the Gettysburg Hotel in Lincoln Square. Right smack dab in the middle of all the shopping and restaurants downtown Gettysburg has to offer. Service was very friendly and attentive, and the salads were large and very tasty. The burger was enjoyable, the place was very clean, and there is a bar near the back of the restaurant that wasn't in operation when we were there for lunch, but looks like an old-fashioned tavern. read more

Wifey and I stayed at the hotel here and had to try at least one meal at One Lincoln while in town. We decided on lunch and had a fantastic meal. We were seated immediately near the street so we could people watch and each ordered a cocktail- Wifey had a Tito's and soda, which was very good, and I had a Perfect Manhattan, which was also very good. As soon as I looked at the menu I knew what we were both having. I ordered the shrimp and grits and Wifey ordered the baked salmon flatbread. I wanted to order the she crab soup, but it had peas so I couldn't get it...I can't eat those disgusting little green balls of ick. Our waiter was super nice and friendly, brought us bread while we waited...and waited...and refilled our waters while we waited some more. Yes, the service was painstakingly slow. To the point where Wifey needed to gobble her meal because she had to be someplace we thought we'd have plenty of time to get to...and the worst part was the place wasn't busy. Food finally came and it was outstanding, like I wanted to lick my plate it was so good. If the service wasn't so slow I'd have easily given it four stars. We were guests of the Gettysburg hotel where this is located. The bar is a lively scene, but we opted for the more quiet dining room, (outdoor street-side dining is also an option.) We were here on a Tuesday-Wednesday evening. Be aware that in September, the restaurants in this town close early and also many do not have their websites updated as to hours. So call before you make your meal plans. We ordered the French onion soup which was served in a little crock and very flavorful. The prosciutto wrapped asparagus was tasty but would have been better broiled as opposed to cold. I had the spring green gorgonzola salad with pecans and cranberries it was very fresh and tasty! We had our Thanksgiving Dinner here and it was absolutely wonderful. I of course had to get the Traditional Thanksgiving Plate. Hubby got the NY Strip Steak and we shared the crabmeat stuffed scallops served with succotash. The food was yummy and the service was good. My only issues were that they didn't have any cranberry relish and the succotash didn't seem to have the shrimp they advertised on the menu. The restaurant itself is located in the historic Gettysburg Hotel with a cozy atmosphere. We finished our meal with a delicious slice of salted caramel white cake. Summary: The food sounds (and looks) delicious, but it ultimately falls flat in the flavor department. Good enough for the price, I guess. The potato pierogis (3 for $8) looked great, but they had onions on top of them which made them a bit inconvenient to eat. Why not just put the onions inside the pierogi? Didn't have much flavor either, which is most important. The portobello mushroom sandwich ($12 w/ side) was served in between two pieces of focaccia bread with cherry tomatoes baked on top of it. As expected, the bread was the best part, but the tomatoes fell off of my sandwich very easily (some were missing when it got to my table, so the chef should know it's a problem). This, along with the generous helping of avocado mash and the 2 mushroom patties (would've preferred 1 because they slid around), made for a messy and disappointing meal. My dad liked his Reuben & his waffle fries were tasty. Suggestions: - Put the onions inside the pierogi OR make a more flavorful filling & stop relying on the onions for flavor. - Stop baking the tomatoes into the bread; it's great as it is. - Use 1 mushroom; having 2 sliding around on my sandwich was annoying and messy. - Please stop disappointing people with unripe honeydew in the fruit medley. We had our family Thanksgiving here today and we were all very happy with our meals. The vegetables were all prepared and cooked to perfection. The Pomegranates and apple salad was incredible! Fried Brussels sprouts with bacon and balsamic glaze was a taste orgasm. We all got their Thanksgiving plate with a generous amount of Turkey, stuffing, perfect mash potatoes gravy and asparagus! Dessert needs to be made in house but I'm sure with the business of a holiday we understood. Besides we were stuffed as much as the Turkey! Red Zinfandel was enjoyed by us. Breakfast here is very average, if you want a latte you need to go to the Starbucks next door and bring it over. Portions are amble and probably best to go with something simple..oatmeal or scrambled eggs. Breakfast potatoes are greasy. Service is friendly and food comes out fast. My wife and I, along with inlaws visited for lunch today. We felt the broth for the French Onion soup was not really French onion soup broth. It wasn't hearty. Overall the food was decent. Our server wasn't really interested in doing her job. For example, my and I arrived before my inlaws. We were seated, and I asked for coffee, at first she said they were out and then she reluctantly offered to check and brought me a cup. She never came by to ask if I wanted more coffee. She never came by during our meal to ask if we needed refills or anything else. Our server was more interested in playing with her phone than doing her job even though we were the only customers. Very disappointing service especially for such a nice hotel and a touristy town. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Great location, nice and clean. Service was very slow. To be fair we were part of a larger group. We did not receive our drinks for 20 minutes and our waitress who was very pleasant told us the bar was backed up because they were busy in the bar. Food was all brought out by our servers one plate at a time and plates for fall of our table. Some of the meals were over cooked while othered were good. Husband got a hamburger he's allergic to cheese. It was a crockpot burger not freshly cooked for me. Which is crazy since its $16 - 1 bite is all he took. I got a stir fry with shrimp shrimp was good but the stir fry looked like whatever was left in fridge I had elbow noodles corn kernels overcooked squash an I don't know what else. I went to eat at One Lincoln twice over the course of the weekend. As a vegan and gluten-free dieter, I had the Beyond Burger, with fries. I was surprised to find a double patty burger and even more surprised that they offered it on a gluten-free bun! I am not aware of any other local restaurants that have such an offering. - The bartenders made delicious Bloody Marys! And the General Manager was polite, and personable! What a great way to start my vacation! One LIncoln is a short walk away from where we are staying and it did not disappoint. It is not insanely busy and has a quieter atmosphere after a long day of driving. I started with the shrimp cocktail which is not a typical cocktail sauce-it is more of a horseradish sauce but now I only want this on the side of my shrimp. My friend chowed on the portables mushrooms quickly. Our door arrives promptly and well plated and I was almost under the impression we were at a Michelin restaurant with the plating! One Lincoln Food and Spirits is located in the Gettysburg Hotel but can be accessed independently from the street. We went in to the bar area that was semi busy and were seated pretty quickly. The restaurant was rather empty with only a few tables with people. We got our 1st and only round rather quickly but were never approached again in 45 minutes. They had several microbrews on tap and a full bar. I got an IPA from some microbrew and the ladyfriend ordered a dirty martini. The drinks were great but no one ever checked on us after that. My beer glass was empty for 15 mins before I got up, walked to the bar and closed out. We planned to eat here but just ordered pizza in the room instead. There were waitresses in the restaurant just standing around with no customers. It seems like the manager should have adjusted the servers to serve both bar and restaurant. Seems like a cool place and I'm sure it's hard to staff with such a cyclical business but service is everything in a place like this. Visiting the hotel for a film shoot that weekend, my colleague and I looked forward to trying out One Lincoln. Because we were in a bit of a hurry, we went for the basics: coffee, omelette, and pumpernickel toast for us both. The entire time we were there a gentleman who appeared to be a manager paced around with a scowl on his face. While he seemed to be checking on things, he either wasn't pleased to be there and/or with what the workers were doing that Saturday morning. Coffee and water refills were slow and had to be requested. Our dishes took nearly 30 minutes to come out due to "the toast being burned" or at least that's what I thought the server was claiming. Maybe she meant the omelettes? Regardless, she was delightful and had her hands full with a busy morning. But considering other reviews, some work needs to be done on the workflows of the restaurant to make it a more pleasurable experience for all. read more

One word could some up our recent visit at One Lincoln in Gettysburg. DISAPPOINTED!!! First of all has a limited menu which is insanely overpriced for the portion and more importantly the quality of food you receive. My husband ordered the French Dip sandwich with French Fries. The sandwich was ok however the au jus was gravy. The french fries were ordinary waffle fries. My Uncle order the dry as a desert Pork BBQ sandwich, my aunt ordered the Turkey w/ swiss on rye bland sandwich and I had the Clam strip Po boy sandwich. It was literally fried clam strips on a big roll. All the food was bland, nothing special. I would highly recommend any other restaurant in Gettysburg. read more

We first sat in the bar hoping for quick service. Bad idea. Bartender was overwhelmed by a very loud party who had been there for quite some time. The f and b director finally came by and tried to take our order. Hard to hear over the obnoxious, over-served gentleman. We moved into the dining room but sadly noise followed. I thought it was odd that the bar had cleaning supplies and ice buckets out for public view as well. We actually wanted to go to the Blue and Gray across the square but there was a 45 minute wait and we didnt feel like sitting in the drafty entrance. They didnt have a foyer so I imagine every time someone opened the front door a draft would go into the entire restaurant. This is not good in the middle of winter. Anyway, other than the cramped bar, which was standing room only, there wasnt a comfortable place to wait so we went to 1 Lincoln Sq. I'm glad we did. We were greeted by a host that seemed to not be able to smile if his life depended on it. I'm hoping it was just a bad day. Our waitress, however, was super great and accommodating. The soup and appetizers (Maryland Crab & humus dip with pita triangles were quite good. Sandwiches and burgers were very fresh and ample. Presentation very nice.
