But for me the highlight was the bar serving a dozen or so different beers catering for every taste, as well as a similar number of red and white wines. The drink prices are half what you'd pay in a bar/restaurant elsewhere in town, so there's a limit of 3 per person. There is talk that Kroger are going to close the "Kro-bar" and turn it into a cheese counter. It would a shame if that were to happen. Instead I could a cheese stall that also serves wine and beer would be a huge success.

Prepared foods was a much bigger entrant, as was the freezer section. The lack of fresh items seems contrary to the health food vibe. On the upside, you'll struggle to find a place that has more niche brands with vegan, gluten-free, and other specialty items. The local focus is also appreciated. On the downside, I was surprised how expensive it was, and that's with shopping the sale items and the $1 credit I apparently picked up by shopping at the Roanoke Earth Fare. They began carrying Cadadia ("every day") brand that offers competitive prices on numerous staples. Their bulk prices are usually LOWER than the pre-packaged item at Kroger. You'll receive excellent, knowledgeable service as needed. Yes, many of the prices are higher than Kroger, but what Eats offers is local and/or TRULY organic food (unlike larger commercial brands.) Oh, and there is a discount for seniors on all items, every day, all the time. I abandoned the corporate shopping mentality, and I love Eats.

When my turn came I rang up my gift card then an error message came up on the screen and an employee appeared who then inform me that gift cards could not be done in self check out and I would have to get back in line. There were at least six or more people in line with full carts. The associate did not offer to help me at customer service or open a line. The customerservice at this location has been terrible for at least the past year. When I left at 5:04 without my card there was still only one person on a register. If I could give negative stars I certainly would do so. What a terrible experience!
