A quick update here....from a 2 star to a 4 star experience…read more It was a Saturday evening and they were slammed. We decided to belly up to the bar. Greatest decision we made all evening, no wait at all. Huge shout out to Jacob! He was hustling like no other behind the bar. Slinging drinks left and right, making us amazing cocktails without missing a beat. Checked on us all night, cracked some jokes and made it a pleasurable experience from start to finish. Thank you! We ordered our favorite app, the ahi poke nachos with crispy wontons. And then I had the triple decker club with sweet potato fries while my wife opted for Renee's Special (half sandwich, soup and a salad combo). Everything came out hot and fresh and super quick. Given our experience last time, we were very pleasantly surprised. Definitely not something we were expecting at the height of dinner on a very busy Saturday evening. Thank you to the front and back staff (especially Jacob!) for a great evening.

We ordered all at once and still had to wait almost an hour to get food. Food was all correct even tho we had some picky eaters w/ us (the kids ). As long as you are not in a rush & understand there is going to be a long wait for the food, you should enjoy yourself.

After ordering, it took maybe 5 minutes to get our food which felt decent for the fresh food! There was a steady flow of to-go orders so it seems to be a popular spot. I ordered the Popper Topper Burger, although I do get the jalapeños on the side. I was expecting a little bit more to be honest. It was cheesy and delicious, but the patty itself was lacking any flavor. This was shocking because the menu described it to be "Cajun seasoned" but it felt very plain. The fries were my favorite part by far!!! Unlike other places, this had plenty of toppings. Normally, once you eat the top layer the underside is dry. Not here! I was covered in cheese sauce by the end of the meal. If you're in the mood for some really good fries, definitely check it out!

While the exterior is a far cry from the "vibrant patio" the restaurant description promises, the interior opens into a clean, bright space, which is more spacious than one might expect. On the front counter you will see an artistically designed menu board, depicting the many creative offerings available here. When I invited my coworkers to join me here for lunch, 2 immediately began ardently affirming my choice, regretful they could not join me but promising I would love it. In this moment, vague memories of them talking about this "really good burger place at the gas station" for months on end began to come back to me, as I realized they had been indirectly recommending it for a while. On the other hand, my 3rd coworker, who was in a separate room and had not heard their high praises, told me that it was "overrated" and "fine but not that special." Lol. Needless to say, I had absolutely no idea what to make of it all when I arrived. When I walked in, the woman behind the counter asked if I had ever been there, before patiently walking me through the various sections of the menu and helping me pick something out. I settled on the Popper Topper, which promised Cajun spices and fried jalapeño coins, among other various toppings. At its smallest size (big), it only cost $10.99. I also ordered bacon and cheddar fries. My initial impressions upon receiving my food (quite quickly, I might add) is that 1) the restaurant's name is perfect and 2) this is a very good quantity per dollar and an absolutely absurd calorie per dollar meal, especially in 2025. For right at $20, I got a huge burger and enough fries to satiate 2-3 people. I cannot fathom what the larger burger sizes look like, much less who could possibly be ordering them. The fries were everything I could have asked for -- crispy, salty, and with a very generous amount of both cheddar sauce and bacon (the perfect amount to have sauce on every bite but not be soggy). The burger was good, and definitely satisfied that primal craving for salt and fat that we all carry with us from hunter-gatherer days gone by. However, I wouldn't say it was particularly spicy, nor did its flavor deviate significantly from any generic burger I could order. Don't get me wrong, it was still delicious, but I was a little disappointed. I think that the fried jalapeño coins are breaded a little on the thicker side, which somewhat mutes the spice and slight acidity that they would otherwise add to this dish, to help cut through and brighten the other flavors. All in all, I had a great meal and would totally come back, but I don't think I've tried the "perfect" burger from here yet. Definitely going to recommend this to anyone in the area.

Our server was able to take our order quickly and it did take longer than expected for the food to come out. Also, we were seated pretty close to where they were running food so it was a high foot traffic area. I really loved the veggie burger. It was so much better than your boring, generic veggie patty. I could have that veggie burger every day. My fries did come out cold, but they were able to bring me some hot fries. Also, fun fact, the pinball museum, which is just a couple doors down has a special deal for people who are waiting for their table at hops so they can pass the time that they're waiting by playing some pinball. Super cute idea to do a date that involves pinball and hops in my opinion! Even though my last visit wasn't perfect, this place is reliably good and I would definitely recommend it.

Tonight was finally the evening when we were able to go, despite a bit of a waitlist still (45 minutes). The hostess was on point with her estimate and also very quick to get us seated within the promised time frame. I also found out they offer reservations, so we will use that option loving forward. First of all-service was excellent. Our waiter came to the table within a moment of being seated to get started with waters and non-alcoholic options, and was quick to check back up on us and see if we were ready or had questions. He made several great recommendations on both food and drinks. My only caveat was that my 10 oz steak was a bit on the salty side, but this may be due to the aging process. It was cooked to a beautiful medium per my request, and both my sides (asparagus and loaded baked potato) were yummy, well cooked and seasoned perfectly. My husband got a pasta with pancetta and caramelized onions, and it was absolutely delicious. Suggested wines were paired well with both entrees. We opted to get a few more drinks with dessert, and both were also very good. The bartenders are not stingy in their pours! We also split the butter cake for dessert and I will say that Paula Dean would have been proud of that cake. It was melt-in-your mouth richness paired with a slightly tangy fruit sauce, fresh berries and a tasty vanilla ice cream. The restaurant as a whole was well set up, with multiple types of seating and a large bar area. Decor was well placed and there was enough room to walk through without feeling crowded, despite how busy it was. We will absolutely be back!

I arrived about 15 minutes after they opened and there were many people already seated and eating. As i was being seated the hostess brought along a basket of the warm great rolls. Good way to start. And the server, Faith, was right there to get my drink order and gave her my dinner order as well. One of the managers was coming around to make sure everyone was being taken care of to their satisfaction. Faith brought my salad out quickly which I appreciated. My meal was brought out just before I had finished my salad. One of the things that happens when you come in early. I tried the 6-ounce Ribeye and i will be back soon for a larger cut. The baked Sweet potato was done perfectly. I also noticed that three tables around me turned over within the first hour they were open. To me it means the service is very good.. and that the patrons enjoy coming in early for whatever reason. The only downside was the background music was too loud.

Joining the waitlist on their website helps a lot in terms of timely seating! I got my usual, salmon with a baked potato and Caesar salad salad. The salmon was cooked properly, and I was also happy with my baked potato. The salad had some old lettuce in it, which was a little icky, but it wasn't so bad that I sent it back. One thing that I didn't love is that the bench we were seated at was very uneven. Think old timey church pew where the wood boards didn't quite align. Handling a quality check on the seating and making sure the salad is fresh going forward, would put this experience at a five star in my book. For the price, you can't beat it!
