Whenever my husband and I were craving momo's we usually drive 40 minutes to a small cafe in Manchester, but we were soooo happy to finally see a place in Lowell that specializes in them. They say first impressions are everything, right? This review is based on my first visit to FoodShines and it was fantastic. Even my wife, who wouldn't care if she never ate another Indian dish for the rest of her life, loved it. We ordered the steamed momos and momos tikka masala. Both were very good but we liked the tikka masala better. The spicy sauce that came with the steamed momos was very good. We also ordered the butter chicken, navartna korma, and eggplant curry. All were fantastic. If I had to make one small, nit pic it would be the naan. I don't know that it's cooked in a tandoor oven there. I feel it's store bought perhaps. But again, I'm being totally picky because overall the meal was five stars hands down. Please go and support these guys. We want to keep them around! read more

Very unique dumplings aka mo-mo. We ordered 5 different kinds it fed us for 3 days and price was crazy good for everything we got. My 2 favorite were sweet chili and the paneer but the regular steamed and fried ones were also awesome. read more

Takeout order Chicken tenders - Good portion but too much salt to handle (thats a first in a looooong time) Chicken korma- Spot on flavor but too small portion for 16$. i've been wanting to try momo(s?) for months now and RAN over to food shines when i saw it on their menu. the interior is spacious but not overwhelming if you plan on dining in alone- a plus for me! i ordered the chili momo and chicken curry and both were so incredibly full of flavor. the staff was also very helpful and made me feel less embarrassed for being late to the momo hype party. i've been craving them ever since so will definitely be returning! :) read more

Whoa, I love this place! I've had a few different types of MOMO's (Jhol, tikka masala, popeye), and the garlic bread, and will be working my way through the menu over time. Everything I've had here has been great, and the guys behind the counter are always pleasant. I woke up mildly hungover and big hungry the morning up Superbowl LIV. I decided to roll the dice and hit up a new joint in Lowell and was not disappointed by any stretch of the imagination. I walked in and was greeted with a smiling and friendly staff that was ready to take my order and assist in any of the allergy related question my friend Paulie had. (Severe Dairy) I decided to ironically order "The Hangover" sandwich (lol) on a fresh english muffin. Now I'm a guy that you could call a meatlover so whenever I go out and get breakfast I always have a hard time deciding between sausage or bacon (spoiler alert I LOVE both). "The Hangover" sandwich solves this issue by providing both breakfast meats encapsulated into a single sandwich which was ideal and made me big happy. In addition to this the sandwich has double eggs which was nice. The sandwich was absurd and I'll be sure to become a Sunday regular. I also appreciate Food Shines having gatorade for curing said hangover. read more

Momo's are spot on we tried all the different varieties of momos the place could offer. Being a Nepali's who have had momos their whole life its really hard for a new place to beat couple favorite spots but hands down these were some of the most mouth watering momos i have had in a long time. With great hospitality and passion that shows on the food is amazing. Would definitely suggest this place to everyone who enjoys momos like i do. read more

Get the Momos! We had the chicken Tikka masala Momos and they were delicious. Also had a chicken and noodle meal which was great and came with mini fried Momos and spring rolls. The veggie samosas and mango lassi (smoothie) were excellent too! Can't wait to try other items from the menu. read more

I LOVE MoMos. I seek them out wherever I go, but they are so rare to find. I can't even tell you how happy I was to see a new restaurant right here in Lowell serving MoMos. I tried them by delivery because of Covid, and they arrived to me perfect and delicious. I tried the steamed pork fried vegetable, and chicken Jhol - a cumin-based sauce I've never seen but will never want to leave behind. All three were perfect and they sent both a "normal" heat sauce and a "hot" sauce. The hot sauce smells and tastes like buffalo chicken sauce - not really my thing, but my spouse loved it. The normal was perfect for the steamed and fried MoMos. Again, the Jhol is something you MUST TRY. Hope this place continues to stay open - I'm definitely going back! read more

Great Indian food Food Shines!!! I went here yesterday (Aug 21) after seeing a review on FB. It was REALLY REALLY good!!!! I didn't know what to expect but amazingly surprised. Not many places on Rt 133 area to easily get good Indian food. Try it out if you can. They have ALL KINDS of food so anyone in your group who doesn't like Indian food can def find something. LOTS of different menus. I had the Chicken Tiki Marsala and something called Momos. These were dumplings. SO GOOD!!! It's located on Pawtucket Street across the University Riverhawk bookstore where the other not downtown Jimmy Johns location was. They are trying SO HARD. They started as a new breakfast place in January for students and 2 months later Covid hit. So they changed the menu to Indian dishes (and a lot of other non Indian food). They delivery. Very nice inside. Parking in back. Don't be worried about parking. You can park behind the businesses. It's a cool spot. REALLY GREAT food and super nice people. PLEASE GIVE these guys a shot!!! read more
