Came in on Monday to buy some groceries for the week. This is the closest Food 4 Less to me that I like now that they closed the one in Norwalk. Everything was very organized and fully stocked. The only thing they didn't have rotisserie chicken made at the time we went around 1pm I wanna say. It was a big deal the gentleman apologized and said he's by himself at the moment who h I didn't mind it happens and he was so friendly about it. I ordered a cake for today and when I got here they told me that the baker never made it for me. I paid when I ordered and gave them a copy of the receipt. They tried to make it right by giving me another cake of my choice, but my son didn't want any of them. I came in to do weekly shopping...we usually go to the one that is off of Norwalk and Washington but we figured Food 4 Less is the same let's just go to the one in Santa Fe Springs...WORST MISTAKE of the week and I will NEVER go back here! Everything is mixed up with no organization to the store, prices seem ridiculously overpriced...Did not have some staples that other stores have like 96/4 ground beef, a lackluster produce department and nothing had prices on it! To top it off a few of the canned food was disgusting with residue and "yuck" on top so we had to go back and switch them out. Came once but will NEVER come back. I immediately went back to the store within 15 minutes of purchasing the ice cream and was rudely handled by the manager on duty, Alejandra. She refused to give me a refund because I had taken the ice cream out of the store. As if I'm expected to check every product I buy before leaving the store to make sure that the integrity of my food had not been compromised. Isn't that the store's job? I asked for Alejandra's supervisor and she told me to come back tomorrow morning. I was going to leave the icecream at the store but she said, "You can't leave it here. If I don't have to come here, I won't. The store is clean, and employees/cashiers are polite but my review is based on ease of shopping. Shopping for groceries should be a joyful thing. But coming to shop here always leaves me frustrated asking myself why I come here. The aisles aren't labeled correctly, food items are in the most random spots and I truly don't understand how to shop here. Compared to other Food 4 Less's I've been to, this is my least favorite. I give it 2 starts because it's never packed (but I ask myself why people don't come here). They're always out of the things I need to buy. There is no "chips" area which I find baffling because everyone eats chips. All the chips are scattered on end caps. I actually like this grocery store aside from Stater Bros which is where I normally shop. It's a very large market with a better variety to choose from. Prices on most items are pretty much the same, but they have good deals on things I need. The alcohol is definitely cheaper. I always come here when I need to buy myself some draanks. They have tons of options when I am cooking Mexican food, who doesn't love Mexican food! There is also a deli and bakery inside. Desserts are a lot cheaper than Stater Bros. They have a huge selection and delicious cakes and cupcakes. There is also a large rack of gift cards with tons of options. Parking outside really does suck. It's always busy here and the parking lot shares with a lot of other stores and banks. People walking never pay attention to the cars. I enjoy coming here to get my shopping done. read more

I have the whole Incident from the Moment we entered the Store on Video . Normally I wait in the Car to avoid this kind of Profiling,Harrasment,Stalking and Discrimination based on the physical Pain this Behavior provokes. As soon as they have seen me (clear indicator that my Picture and Profile is send! See prior complaints and evidence) We were followed and stalked from the employee's instructed from a Manager (Picture and Video Available)When we went to the Cashier ,the Manager went right next to her and warned her(He hesitated a bit when I made it clear with my Face impression that I watched his Behavior). He than called out a Person that was also watching us over the Monitor and I also made it clear that I knew what they were doing .He than went out and ordered the outside Employee that gets the empty Cards to follow us . He did so even on to our Car on the public Parking. Based on my Disability as an Asault Victim from a Security Guard at my Workplace and the resulting Injuries ,this Actions cause me severe Pain (severe Headaches, Increase of Blood pressures to the dangerous Level of 200 to 150 documented) the high Risk of a Heart attack or Stroke I have called the Santa Fe Springs Police and filled a Report for Penal Code 368b and 368c (Incident Number 22-12272). I hereby demand a full investigation in this Matter on State on federal Level based on the facts that this kind of Profiling is done from the so called Law Enforcement! If I can't shop here very early in the morning then I don't bother coming here at all later in the day because it seems like there is always only one or two registers open with long lines of customers. It takes forever to checkout if you're only buying a few items because many shoppers have carts full of groceries and the express lanes are rarely open. This review is for the bakery area. I recently bought a French bread garlic loaf. It really looked good, but upon toasting and trying it, it really tasted like stale bread. Sadly it had to go into the trash can. I also had bought the ear flaky pastry, and it wasn't that good at all. Compare to other places. The conchas are not as good either. The people are great the management SUCKS, I wanted to buy 30lbs of meat or my brothers birthday party (Carne Asda) since it was on sale and I was told they could only sell me 20lbs, I asked why they said management said 20lbs per customer. I am having a BBQ for about 80-95 people and 20lbs is not enough. What kind of manager would put a limit on MAKING MONEY! (IDIOT) the FOOD 4 LESS down the street on Washington and Norwalk Blvd will sell you what you want if they have it. But actually I went across the street to EL SUPER and bought 40lbs instead of 30lbs WITH NO ISSUES. Putting limits on what you sell is bad business practice. I was not only buying meat my grocery list was (4) 24 packs of Corona (3) 30 packs of Tecate (3) 30 packs of Bud Light hard liquor to make Margaritas, Mai Tai, Pina Coladas, Adios, Whiskey Sours and kamakazi's (with all the mixes) I was also getting produce and sodas too. Well we just got back from our 1st Coronavirus shopping trip! Not too bad, we managed to get 80 percent of what we needed. No paper goods at all! No frozen vegetables! Only a few cans of corn! No period pads! No eggs, butter, sour cream or Soy sauce! But plenty of junk food, soda and of course...alcohol! Who's bright idea was it to close the meat market!? We are a family of 7 adults and two kids with another two adults and two kids, our youngest sons family, that come for dinner frequently throughout the week. We normally go shopping every two and a half to three weeks. I NEED four packages of boneless chicken leg meat weighing at least six pounds and 10 pieces of chicken leg quarters to get through to our next shopping OP! I feel like it's a sneaky way to price gouge! Close down the meat market and now I'm forced to buy the boneless skinless chicken breast at almost twice the cost of the chicken leg quarters and boneless chicken legs I used to buy! There is no longer an incentive for me to shop this store over the Norwalk store that is much closer to us! So our large family will take our $1000 a month shopping some where else! There were no refried beans at all, but there was plenty of canned pinto beans, so I grabbed two. Upon check out the friendly cashier says the is a one can limit on the beans! What kind of stupid customer service is that!! I mean really!? I spent well over $200 hundred and was stupidly forced to buy one can of beans by itself! It's the only item we had to many of! And...I still bought it anyway...it should have been included on the main sale. I was a head cashier at Home Depot for six years and I would have coached my cashiers if they had done this to a customer. You argued and inconvenienced your customer over a $3 item! Too many people standing around coming in and out of the back of the meat dept while two others were working and trying to restock. No meat market, then you have no need for that many associates in the dept. Send them home or put them to work in another dept or cleaning carts and other surfaces please. It's not healthy right now to have excess associates who are not being productive in the store! Remember, if your associates are not changing their gloves often, they are ineffective! They took away the baskets recently, so if you only need 5 things stack it in your arms or get a cart. Since they don't have baskets anymore, the parking lot is now for carts not cars. The liquor is locked up now too. They did all of this because people were stealing the baskets and the liquor. People, come on. Food 4 Less, come on. Just lock up the whole store. We have to bag our own groceries because the food is cheaper but the cereal is the most expensive I've ever seen it. Target has cereal cheaper. So annoying. read more

This evening while checking out my husband and I witnessed a very disturbing case of bullying from the store manager to a fairly young employee. The young man's tone was very polite and mild. The store manager made it a point to reprimand and degrade him in front of all customers at checkout before telling him " get your things clock out and go home". Not only was it unprofessional and rude but made us feel uncomfortable with no desire to go back to that particular store ever again. She was instructing him to do something, and he simply stated he wasn't sure how to do what she told him to do, so rather than explain she raised her voice and dismissed him to go home immediately. I been going to this store for past 15 years and produce was always kept clean and had fresh fruit and vegetables, until yesterday I went in and it's HORRIBLE!!! It's dirty/Rotten tomatoes/bad salad bags/beans all over the flore OMG just horrible! A couple months back I was shopping in the dairy area and I saw a huge rat run across the aisle so when I was checking out I let the cashier know I saw a rat by the dairy so she called her manager over and the manger let me know they were aware of the issue and had a exterminator coming that night, even the cashier was shocked that there was a rat in the store so I gave them the benefit of the doubt because I have been shopping there for over 10 years. As of today I will no longer be shopping here, I went to buy some produce and as I went to get some celery there was fresh rat droppings on top of the celery, I called my fiancé over to look and he also confirmed they were rat droppings. I went to get an employee close by that I saw standing near the restrooms earlier but I saw her making out with a man by the clearance items next to the restroom so I decided to just leave my cart of groceries and walk out the store. I was so disgusted and in a rush that I even forgot my reusable bags in the cart. While I was driving home I regretted not taking a photo as evidence but my fiancé and I were both so disgusted that we didn't think about it in the moment we just wanted to get out of there. This location really needs to get it together before they risk getting shut down, I wish I stopped shopping here sooner I feel sick to my stomach knowing My family has been eating food from here for over 10 years. read more

I wouldnt suggest you buy the produce. Its the only thing i dont buy here. The produce goes bad too fast so thats why i took off one star. But the prices are good and the employees very nice and helpful. Id have given a better rating and overlooked the not so fresh produce IF they had better selections of vegetarian friendly foods like a better morning star brand section and had better sales for them, i find Ralphs is cheaper on frozen vegetarian foods (boca, morning star, tofurky) and its odd too cause Ralphs in general is more expensive then Food4Less.
