They stock many treadmills, ellipticals, weight machines, ab rollers, exercise bikes, and lots more. We talked to the owner, Jon, while we were there and he was very helpful. We stopped by Utah Home Fitness to rent ElliptiGOs actually, a sort of bicycle meets elliptical machine invention. We rent them for four hours through a Groupon and actually had a lot of fun riding them. It was a little difficult to get used to at first, but after awhile the ElliptiGOs were great fun. If you haven't seen one in action, Google it. If you need equipment for your home gym, Utah Home Fitness seems like the place to go. I was impressed. Support local business.

There is a great selection and variety. I mostly go for the toys. There is a specific toy that I seek and this is the place to find them. While their toy department is not huge and is just a relatively smaller department within the store, what they do have is quality stuff, things that people actually seek out. Lego sets, RCs, educational children's toys, games, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to see a decent selection of disc golf discs. They even had some of one of my favorite brands, Kastaplast! Either Kastaplast is finally getting some mainstream recognition or Scheels has a good sporting goods manager. Speaking of which, Ashton is a great guy and truly thinks of the customer first and the customer's experience. There were even Zuca disc golf carts there. And they were all on sale. Another aspect to love about Scheels are the things you can do there like mini bowling, shooting arcade, and the Ferris wheel. You can have a date there for cheap! And then go to the cafe for a meal or treats. BTW, the jerky they sell there is excellent! All the employees there are very helpful. In some small ways, Scheels is better than Bass Pro, Cabela's, Sportsman's Warehouse. In this competitive market, small ways is what stands you apart. I really like those other stores, too, but Scheels just feels different. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. (I had several questions) 10 minutes in golf department. Same story. 20 minutes in BBQ and the two guys there seemed more worried about the display looking great than offering help. I've always loved Scheels but I am very disappointed with the current lake of service or lack of. I hope things improve! (I only spent $250)

When we go to the checkout line I told my girls they could each pick out a ball from the small bin of balls. I then bent down to look at something on a shelf. I heard an associate very rudely tell my girls that the balls needed to go back in the bin. Not knowing what to say they started to apologize and the associate repeated "balls in bin!" My girls did as requested and walked over to me. I found it extremely rude and unprofessional that the only interaction we had with any one of service was someone scolding my daughters for holding balls that I said I would buy them ‍. The store was nearly empty and I can understand why. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend doing any business with this store, unless you want to have your kids leave crying. .

To start both powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting to get back into shape. luckily it was something that I could do regularly when everything was locked down. In the Olympic lifts there is a lot of dropping the barbell at heights over your head. so the last thing you want are the plates to be flying different directions. Also in powerlifting when weights start getting heavy and the barbell starts to bend the you dont want the whip of the bar to cause the plates to slide and cause an asymetry. So I initially bought Clout Collars due to so many universally good reviews. After a few years I noticed that the plates were slipping more and more and definitely with the Olumpics sometimes the collars would pop open. No bueno. So I wrote to them and they more than glad to replace them. Lifretime warranty? yes! that's pretty awesome. they sent me a set of new collars and it was a dramatic difference. with almost full bar of plates I dropped from shoulder height had only a few millimeters of shift. Now obviously these arent the Olympic style clamp down collars. They're an easy to use Lockjaw style. But for the price/performance value and lifretime warranty they're definitely more than worth it

Let's just say we arrived 30 minutes before closing, were directed exactly where to go, and did our best with the good amount of selection. About 10 minutes AFTER closing, one of the staff came back to see how he could help (not rushing us or asking us to wrap it up). In fact, we were ready to buy and he took one look at my kids shoe sizes and the skates we intended to buy and asked us a few questions. Turns out we didn't know as much as we thought in order for my children to have the best possible experience skating. He started from scratch, measured them both, and helped put on and take off the different pairs we were considering. He guided us to the best skates for their needs, taught us tricks how to "listen" for a good fit, why different skates were heavier, etc. Considering my daughter has unusually wide feet and tall arches, it was remarkable that they just happened to have a less in demand men's figure skate (that runs wider) that would work for her.
