Love this doughnut shop. Best doughnuts I've come across, and am now a regular customer. The owners are super friendly and remember us when we come in, sometimes offering my kid a free donut hole or two. Prices are very reasonable, usually around $4 for four standard donuts. My favorite is the glazed twist, extra doughy and fluffy with not too much sugary glaze. Same goes for the doughnut rounds. This place does get busy, so the earlier the better. Come later in the morning (after 8 a.m. or so) and the selection can be limited. I'd recommend this place to anybody. read more

I would have given it a 4 (to be explained throughout the review) but it's not really the businesses fault. So hubby and I came in around 9AM on a Saturday morning (yesterday) and were ready to get some donut holes for me and perhaps a choco bar for hubby to satisfy a sweet tooth craving. In we walk, and the line is about 4 families deep - mom/dad and kids (multiple), and there are 2 lines - one to pay, and one to order. SO... we are 2nd in line to order, and the person in front of us - seriously i can't stand this - tells her 2 daughters to order (both under 5) and then when they are done, asks the owner how many donuts she has and she says that's too many and has him put like 4 of them back. WHAT? Whatever. So she gets finished and goes to the pay line. We order our donut holes and they are completely out of choco bars, and luckily hubby found something different that was comparable. Into the pay line we go. SO... the guy that's at the pay counter is STILL at the pay counter when we enter the pay line. He had already been through the 1st line, and decided that at the time to pay, he wanted another 2 dozen donuts and takes his sweet time picking and choosing. He takes a full 10 minutes. In the mean time, coffee is on the side of the pay counter, and hubby needed a cup so went to prepare, only for the other owner to stop him and say the coffee isn't free so she pours it out and pours him a new cup from behind the counter. Weird but still. Then the 3 additional people that were originally in the pay line when we arrived, pay quickly, not altering the order they already paid. So then comes the lady with the 2 kids. She then decides at the last minute - oh i don't want all those donuts we choose, let me swap out half for different ones and adds additional donut holes, etc... basically it took us 20 minutes standing in line to pay. Regardless of the above - donuts were AWESOME. Reasonably priced, a doz donut holes are $1.65, which is also the price of all specialty donuts, and i think regular donuts are $0.99. A dozen specialty donuts are $17.99 - and they even had croissants - plain and ham and cheese :) read more

Finally tried this place out. Always down for a donut. Got some chocolate bars and glazed donuts. Bars ruled! Chocolate was good, had some good fried dough crunch and was fresh. The glazed donuts were meh on the other hand. Didn't care for that glazed man. Wasn't a winner. For me, the bars saved the day for sure! read more

I don't know why I haven't written a review on this place yet. I love them. I only buy glazed buttermilk bars and they are often gone if I don't get there early enough. The owners are a little Asian woman and her dad. She knows everyone's name. She addresses me by my name and knows what I want and I go in maybe three four times a year. Recently I went in and the line was to the door and it was packed inside. I looked at the case and didn't see my donut so I started to leave she called out my name and said "I have one set aside for you don't leave" well I felt like a heel but was amazed she remembered and set it aside. I went in there very early in the morning, before my shift, and there were just a few things I noticed. Pros: very nice service, very good doughnuts, I got a cinnamon roll and a choco covered buttermilk bar, a short walk away from home. Cons: 7 trays that had been sitting there since the day before or maybe longer, they open at 4:30, but they aren't done making the fresh one's until closer to 6 or 6:30, I got there at 4:30 and waited over an hour just for them to get half the case filled, so I just said screw it, got my doughnuts and left. My suggestion is you wait a little later if you want a full variety, and I might've given it a better rating if I had known that before hand. read more

Delicious donuts! My husband grew up nearby and his mom would always get donuts from here. Now that we moved here, this is our go to place and worth the morning lines. We made the mistake once of skipping the line for donuts at Bel Air and that was a total waste of calories. I walked in and they were super nice and I got 3 dozen doughnuts. She even threw in some extra for the classroom I was volunteering in! Very nice and even brought out some doughnuts from the back that were ver fresh. I would go back everyday of the year to this place! I was so disappointed with the lack of service I received from Foothill Donuts! Don't pre-order any donuts from them because there is a very good chance you won't get them when you go pick them up! I ordered 24 chocolate glazed donuts for my nephew's birthday a week prior. I gave them a pick up time and my cell number. They took the order without a problem. When I went to pick up the donuts I was shocked when the lady told me that she had no donuts left. She said she had forgotten about my order and had sold ALL the donuts! I din't receive a phone call from them to at least save me the trip there. At first I thought she was joking as she didn't looked shocked or surprised and kept waiting for her to turn around and get me the donuts I ordered. I had to run to Safeway hoping they had donuts left from the morning as it was already 1pm in the afternoon. read more

The handful of times I've been here has always been late morning/early afternoon and the selection is usually pretty wiped out. I can't say they have great donuts cause they usually don't have what I want by the time I go in there, but based on the fact they never have any, I'd assume they're awesome! Ok Dunkin vs Foothill donuts. Went into the new Dunkin for the first time today and was meh with the experience. It was busy at 7am, between the drive through and the counter. Several cars waiting, 2 people in front of me and 3 behind me. I only really eat 3 donuts, maple buttermilk bars, maple bars and apple fritters. Out of those 3 they only had the fritter so that's what I got, oh I also got a coffee which took 3 minutes to get as they were brewing more and they pour out of a standard coffee shop carafe. The fritter was smaller than the usual donut shop version and while it wasn't greasy it was still nice and moist. It had good flavor and if I was there I'd order it again. Foothills donuts on the other hand was PACKED, 2 people in front of me, one getting 5 dozen donuts, didn't call ahead, I had 6 people behind me. The usual 2 people on the counter processed us as quickly as humanly possible. They had ALL THREE of my favorites but since this was a head to head test I just got a fritter. As per usual, it was usual "large" size, great flavor and a bit greasy, which I've come to expect with this variety of donut. As per usual, I'd drive past other donut shops to go to Foothills donuts. This is a family owned business. Mary and her husband are super sweet. I often call in ahead of time and she will box up my donuts for me. My mother loves the fresh baked croissants, my kids dig anything with chocolate. I have a predilection for sugar donuts and french crullers and my dad loves the plain. Once you become a regular she always throws in an extra donut or donut holes for the kids. But only if you are nice! read more
