They were out of croissants, so they gave me toast. Super thick
Stephanie I.

Cute place. Sitting outside was nice because it's a quiet street. They didn't have a plain croissant so I got the Texas toast , egg and cheese. It was huge! The toast is so good. My bf had the egg, cheese, bacon burrito and enjoyed it. We got iced lattes- and those were ok.

Excellent spot! Highly recommend the avocado toast. Super fresh, light and well balanced. Staff are super friendly. Well worth it! Top!!

After a work retreat we headed into town looking for breakfast at Forêt. They have a different setup, a bit classic when it comes to ordering. It's a walk up and order, take a number and find a table. My gf and I asked the girl at the counter about her favorite dishes, coffees. I got the Toffee coffee and she got a mocha coffee (can't quite remember the actual names). Based on the her rec we went with savory croissant waffle. I added a the breakfast burrito. The waffle may be the best waffle I've had. There was prosciutto in the the middle with some spinach, toasted pistachios, Swiss cheese and a maple syrup glaze. There were two poached eggs on top that made it a good balance. The breakfast burrito was good size that we only a little bit. Mostly because we wanted to check out another spot too. The burrito had barbacoa, scrambled eggs, potatoes a house salsa and cheddar cheese. It was still good the next day. Next time in Flagstaff we'd definitely go back

If you come in on a weekend be prepared to wait 45min + for food. They do have seating indoors but it is limited and on the smaller side. The ambiance is very cozy. The outdoor seating is dog friendly (indoors is not) but the outdoor seating is also small with metal tables/chairs The smoked maple shaken espresso was divine & might be a seasonal menu item & I also got coffee beans to go and have loved the taste of the coffee at home too! The BEC was a no go for me because the eggs were super runny but the croissant itself was delicious! We also tried the sweet croissant waffle and loved it. Everyone we encountered were super friendly and we'd definitely come back again!

Great local eatery in Flagstaff - stopped by for breakfast, and ordered the soft scrambled egg plate and sausage & potatoes ... both were they were very good. Street parking (pay) is available, with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Fast casual experience, food was delicious, though took longer than the 30-40 minute wait time they quoted us. We ordered coffees and a matcha and got a second round before our brunch was delivered. Lovely patio, nice ambiance on a beautiful day. Parking was easy and convenient too!

First visit, Saturday morning visit. There was a short wait to order. The wait to receive the food was not overly long. The avocado toast and breakfast burrito were good. The London Fog stayed hot during my entire visit. The restaurant was nearly full upon arrival and was even fuller upon departure.

Avocado Toast

Welcomed with smiles, clean, and received our meal in a reasonable amount of time. That was all fine, but my Avocado toast was AMAZING!!! I almost feel silly saying that. Yet, it really was on of the best things I've ever eaten for breakfast. Hubby had the egg sausage Sami, also excellent. Wishing we lived nearby. Glad we stopped in

Delicious! Definitely would get again.. I think they were heavy handed with the seasoning (za'atar) but otherwise it was fantastic!

Other than the long wait time to get the food, food and service was fantastic! Great music and ambience. I don't get to try their coffee but I will next time!

Cute coffee shop in Flagstaff! The coffee as very strong, but not bitter. They have a nice patio. There is parking around the shop. The service was friendly but extremely slow. I would come back on a weekday

Cute small coffee shop in downtown flagstaff that also offers breakfast menu. We stopped in on a Saturday morning before hitting the mountain and it was definitely busy. The coffee is good but definitely strong. Not my cup of tea but if you live string coffee, this is your spot. But be prepared to wait as we water almost 30 minutes to order and get our drinks all together.

Hubs gets his singular waffle. Burrito no where to be found.
Katina J.

Wow! Talk about being totally underwhelmed. $$$ Spendy for ... what? $32.24 for one waffle, and one burrito, no drinks. Took 23 minutes for one waffle to make it to the table. It's now been 35 minutes, my husband has finished his single waffle, and the burrito still hasn't arrived. What an embarrassment for Flag. Such a shame. PS on the way out, we left before the burrito arrived, my husband spoke with the owner. Sam said "oh it's coming out right now", right after a server approached the table to tell us that the burrito went to "another table". Visitors should note that your hotels buffet breakfast will be cheaper than 1 single waffle from Foret. Let that sink in. An entire buffet breakfast is CHEAPER than one solitary waffle from Foret. And, I would bet, the service would be faster, too. You have been warned.

Waited for over 45 mins to get our food and there were not even that many people. Don't why the restaurant was so inefficient, and the food was just okay, they were good but consider about the serving speed and the prices, I don't think they deserved the long wait. We came there in early 9:00 but there was no savory croissant waffle already, and the menu was very limited.

As a Mexican, it's super hard to find good, authentic Mexican food in Flagstaff. Lots of "locals"…read more() will lead you astray with their recommendations however, Madrez is the spot to be!!! I've eaten here countless times and I'm never disappointed. They serve breakfast and lunch and have a variety of dishes, including vegetarian options. Their waffles are incredible as are their burritos, skillets, tostadas, and gorditas. Breakfast always comes with a side of whole beans (flavored with ham hock) which are super fresh. I can truly say there's nothing bad on this menu! The staff is always super welcoming and friendly and the ambiance is refreshing. It's a smaller space and it does get pretty busy, so be aware of that. The best part is that the cafe is family owned, with roots in Playa del Carmen, MX. I HIGHLY recommend Madrez if you're looking for a delicious and authentic Mexican brunch spot. Support local!

My partner and I ordered a chorizo burrito, a skillet poblano, and a plain waffle. While everything was just okay, it honestly felt like something we could have made better at home. I especially wouldn't recommend the waffles -- they were very airy, almost like toast, and at $14 they just didn't feel worth it. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but it's not somewhere I'd return to.

We had a standard queen room both times and it's spacious, bathroom has two sinks one in and one out so yconvenient for two people sharing. The pool is a roundish shape but large enough to swim some laps when there aren't a lot of children there. There are four 2 level inter connected buildings and #4 being the furthest away from the lobby - you can park your car (parking is free) close to any building but it's a bit of a walk on foot. Location is a bit out of town not walking distance to downtown Flagstaff. Rating it a 3 star due to service. On a day when they don't seem to be full they still wouldn't accommodate a late check out by just an hour (at noon instead of 11 am) which I didn't think would have made any difference to them but would have made a huge one for us. Then there is the breakfast. Nice dining room and all, but service was slow and the food came lukewarm, this at a time when it was early and hardly anyone in the dining room. And in addition to that, I had tea and it came in a tea pot with one weak tea bag, and as I like my tea strong I asked for another tea bag in the same pot and was told I'd be charged a second pot of tea ($5). This kind of stinginess just doesn't befit the seeming stature of such a hotel. And finally, the teacup they gave me had a long crack in it - I discovered it when i saw the saucer filing up with tea and didn't think I spilled any in it. The crack was old and stained, not a new one, so it was shocking that no staff had noticed it for this long and cared enough to not continue using it. Let's just say I'd never encountered broken cups like this in lesser priced motels. For this trip to Flagstaff I also had a two-night stay in another hotel downtown and other than the swimming pool, it was much better value and more comfortable with more helpful staff - and no broken tea cups!

We were intrigued enough that we visited MartAnne's the very next night for dinner. That was on a Tuesday at around 6PM and it wasn't too busy the entire time we were there. House Horchata ($5.99) - This drink comes in a giant 32 oz Ball jar with tons of ice. Per the server it's made with milk and condensed milk, no rice milk at all. It's rich, thick, creamy, sweet, filled with earthy notes of vanilla and cinnamon. There's so much spice included that at some points, there's almost a gritty feeling while drinking. It's perfect for a hot day after hiking. Buckwheat Pancake ala carte ($4.99) - Buckwheat pancakes are something we've never seen before on a diner menu in the past. It seems to be pretty common around Arizona, so we had to give it a try before leaving Flagstaff. This one's pretty big, almost plate sized. It's really moist, fluffy, bouncy, and light with a slight sweetness and a certain earthy flavor. It's moist enough that it sticks to the ceramic plate it's served on. The pancake is somewhat crumbly due to the low gluten content of buckwheat, although I believe they use a mix of buckwheat and wheat flour to give some more stability. It's bluish grey in color with black specks of ground buckwheat throughout. It's dusted with powdered sugar, but it's not a ton, making the pancake not really sweet at all. The pancake comes with a small cup of their cinnamon honey butter. It's not mixed that well, leaving it mostly unhomogenized with streaks of honey and spice through the softened salted butter. Tamale ala carte ($4.99) - MartAnne's offers two types of tamales - the first a red chile beef, and the second a green corn and cheese. We went with the latter, which is a homemade tamale with a somewhat looser, coarsely ground masa shell surrounding an interior of yellow sweet corn kernels, a bouncy and somewhat spongy block of Oaxaca cheese, and a fragrant green chile. There's a slight sweetness throughout and the tamale overall is easy to eat. Chilaquiles, Xmas, Fratelli ($17.99) - This is a monster sized plate of a mishmash of ingredients. There are three things as essentially a base layer. Firstly some Mexican rice that's tender, moist, and fluffy, totally unlike the more common dry and and compact version. My guess is that they skip the initial frying step that helps keeps the starch together. It's quite fragrant and has gives a bit of heat. On top of the rice is a layer of hash browns. The potatoes are tender on the interior, griddled on one side to give a delightful crunch, although there's some acridity that develops. Another third of the plate is covered with chili beans - tender pinto beans that are well salted and seasoned. Then there's the eggs stuffed in between layers of corn tortilla chips, smothered with sauce. I went with the Christmas combination of red and green sauce, followed up by the Fratelli-style pork green chile. The green sauce is fragrant and vegetal, while the red sauce is more smoky. The pork, which is cut into chunks, on top is a bit tough and dry but there's more than enough sauce to make up for that slight demerit. Finally, there's a small mound of I believe jalapeno peppers, cut into small neon-green colored pieces. Some pieces are spicy, some are mild, all have a vegetal pepper taste. I found the food at MartAnne's to be pretty good. It definitely hits the spot after hiking all around the area for most of the day. Bathrooms - Two individual rooms, one for men, one for women. Note: MartAnne's charges a 3.5% credit card fee. This is labeled on the menu.

The last dessert I tried was their bread pudding square. It was pretty good overall, but it wasn't anything special. I did find the bread pudding to be a little dry. Each dessert square was priced at about $4.50. The staff was really nice or friendly. On the positive side, parking was super easy since the bakery is located in the same plaza as Safeway.
