The main chicken coop - fits my 20 birds
    Taryn O.

Love my coops! Bill and his son were able to build two coops for me in two days. One for my layers and one for guinea fowl. Very impressed! The birds love their new space and the design makes it easy to clean. Great ventilation, and mouse proofed it for me. The coops survived 60mph winds during our recent storms and held up great! I had one coop flip over (not build by Bill) My girls were completely unbothered in their roost. I've received several compliments from visitors on how good it looks. Would highly recommend and would hire them again. Worth every penny know my girls are safe and happy.

I have be shopping for a coop for sometime. I found Bill and I couldn't have been happier. Bill is very responsive when you contact him. He showed up when he said he would. I had 30 chickens at one time. They were wiped out in one night by who knows what. This was very traumatizing to me and my kids. I took a six year break from chickens. Bill and his son came out and put together the coop in 4 hours. They cleaned everything up and he touched up the paint from the transportation. I know what worked and what didn't work in the past. This coop and henhouse is good size, well built, predator proof, and will be very easy to clean. We have the 8x12 run and henhouse is 8x4. I would buy it again and there isn't any buyers remorse here. Chicks won't be in it for 6+ weeks.

Bill and his son Tim delivered a beautiful Jerome chicken coop for my backyard in SF. Bill is probably one of the coolest guys I've met who shared some great experiences about growing up in California. He built and setup one of the best coops for chickens to flourish and live in SF. I told him about the raccoons who are the number one predators in SF for chickens and he added the hardware cloth for extra protection. I couldn't be happier. He really cares about his craft and shared to me that he was a cabinet maker growing up and that you'd want a cabinet maker building your coop but not a coop maker building your cabinets which made me laugh. He's communication is excellent. I met him on craigslist, so I was bit leery, but you can tell he's a professional. I appreciate his hard work and dedication. You can really tell the quality. Although the coop is not cheap, but it's well worth every penny to keep chickens safe and happy. The chicken coop is perfect in my backyard and looks beautiful stained in red. I highly recommend him to anyone deciding to keep chickens in their backyard!

We love our new coop. Worth every penny. Bill was easy to work with. He set reasonable expectations and met his deadlines. The coop is well built. It even survived the first bobcat attack with minimal injuries. Birds are safe.

    Such a beautiful coop!

We had our coop since Feb of 2022 and it is so awesome! My husband built our last coop when we lived in SoCal and it was a palace. I wanted something similar here but he just didn't have the time. I went back and forth looking at the pre-made ones but they just weren't large enough for 5+ birds. (Quite a few say they are but hardly humanely for even a bantam breed.) Is very easy to clean and so well built. Just do it, you won't regret it and your birds will love it!

Bill was extremely responsive and did a fine job installing our coop. We had a challenge to find a floor plan that would fit around one of our trees. Bill was willing to customize and move the door on the run on the San Carlos plan, so we didn't have to cut branches away. The chicks love it!

I'll admit, I bought a cute plastic coop for my chicks. It fit perfect when they were chicks and very quickly I realized the coop I purchased was way too small (even though it said I could comfortability fit 10 hens). I contacted Bill (thank you, Yelp reviewers!) to discuss a coop and I found his 4x8 duplex coop with walk in run was exactly what I needed. The coop is perfect. Right now I am using one side as storage (feed, wood shavings, etc) and the other for the hens. Bill has thought of everything! 6" doors have a double locking system and the coop doors have triple locks. Each window has plexiglass that can be locked if it gets too cold and hardware cloth for ventilation. The nesting boxes have a wood hinge to hold the roof up for easy access to the eggs. Everything is pretty much removable to easy cleaning. Do yourself a favor, contact Bill for a coop. Your ladies will thank you!

I contacted Bill to get one coop built, but after getting options, ended up getting a bigger one. Bill came by and installed it , looks awesome. Highly recommend it if you can wait. He comes to bay area only few times a year.

    Tilted coop.

I contacted Bill for a chicken coop based on the raving reviews above, after some back and forth we agreed on what I want. He said he would come in May and later informed me that he won't be able to arrive on time because he cannot gather the materials due to COVID 19 and that he must delay his visit to June 7th. I was more than accommodating, in fact, I told him I won't be needing the coop till the end of June and that anytime before then is ok in case he is overloaded and prefers to delay more. Needless to say, I asked several times about what must be done prior to his arrival, he only said "flatten" the ground and I use the word "flat" since this is the exact word he used in the email.   We did flatten the ground, in fact, we bought a rototiller specifically for this job since we have hard soil, unfortunately, it was not as leveled as we thought it was and we are not presuming to be experts. Yesterday he arrived in time, and started putting the coop together, they built it a few feet from its final location and then assembled it in the final spot. We brought a bowl of fruits since it was a hot day and left them to do their work with no interruptions. When it was done I found out the coop is tilted and not balanced, he explained this was due to the ground not being completely leveled, well we did try our best and if you have a specific way you would prefer us to do this maybe you should inform your clients prior to your arrival. Moreover, he himself told me, "well I also thought it was leveled it looked level". Due to the fact that when pavers are used as a base, which is the case, one must make sure they will be leveled, this is what we expected him to do, and he didn't. It was so surreal that my coop was in the air in one of the sides of the run, allowing even a cat to get in easily, not to mention all sorts of rodents. I'm not trying to minimize our responsibility for leveling the ground, but I expect a good professional to not leave me hanging and come up with solutions or ways to overcome the obstacle, even if it will cost me more money or I'll need to work while he works to prevent a problem. what I got instead was someone who doesn't really care what is the actual outcome and this disrespectful and uncaring approach continued in other aspects of the work I had absolutely no hand in, such as the stain, wood, and more. The edges of the wood that were cut onsite were not stained, and they had no intention to finish the stain job. In fact when I asked "what's up with that", I got a can of stain so I can finish the job I paid for in full, myself. The white trims of the window had pieces of wood stuck to them, some even in a different color like Red that has nothing to do with my color scheme (Blue and White) and while I can smile on the resemblance to the American flag, that was not my plan. BTW - they didn't leave the white stain, so I'm gonna have to purchase it to correct the damage. While customizing the coop before the order, I asked for the color of the roof in order to choose a color scheme, I was given a few options and chose white, once the coop was done, I noticed the roof of the nesting box is dark, and when I asked, his son replied: "this part comes only in two colors and white isn't one of them." If the roof for the nesting box is a different color I was expecting to be told about it before, considering this is a custom made coop and I based my decisions on the choices he gave me. I never got this information not even when he contacted me to verify which parts I want in which color. Their answer to this problem was "spray paint it". Last but not least, there are parts that are chipped and were not mended, and there are parts that are not sanded properly or aligned. overall it looks bad but it's also the hazard of splinters,  some of the staples are not properly attached which could easily scratch a person or a bird, I have an eight years old daughter that wants to care for her chickens in this coop and I want her to do so safely. He said that he has 23 coops to build in this visit to the Bay Area, that he usually has 8 or so per visit. I understand now that we paid for this "coop bonanza" with this low quality of work. While I'm very happy for his business because I honestly wish for every one of us to go through this difficult time on the best terms, I don't think that it's fair or honest to do the absolute minimum for a premium price. Therefore I can not stress my disappointment enough, I would not recommend his services.

Bill came to my house in Scotts Valley,CA a few months ago. I ordered the 4x8 double run coop for my new chickens. He was very professional and answered all of my newbie chicken owner questions lol. My coop is beautiful! He stained it with a really nice redwood colored protectant, per my request. I had Bill come back a month later to double the size of the yard. I got a few more chickens than I originally intended to :D All in all, great guy and great coops! If I ever need another one I know who to call! Thanks Bill!

Great guy, great coop! Came out early this morning and built me an amazing coop. Amazed at the quality and craftsmanship. Top notch, and he did it all on thanksgiving.

Being able to remain by Piper's side throughout everything brought me so much comfort. They are thoughtful in ways that truly set them apart. They warm the gel for the echocardiogram (such a small detail, but it makes a real difference), and they offer whipped cream or other treats during the echo to keep your pet relaxed and happy. Most of all, they were incredibly kind, empathetic, and genuinely loving toward Piper. They absolutely adored her and made a point to tell me how cute she is, which meant more than I can say. When Piper was diagnosed with severe mitral valve prolapse and prescribed twice-daily medication, Dr. Block was extremely thorough and patient in explaining everything. I never felt rushed. I felt informed, cared for, and supported every step of the way. This team brings both deep expertise and so much heart to what they do. I'm beyond grateful we found them.

I appreciated being able to go to the back with my dog to be there for every step of the exam. It was much better than dropping him off for a day at our general vet's clinic when the rotating cardiologist visited. Dr. Block is good at explaining the disease processes and had a good treatment plan for my dog. Unfortunately, he ended up passing after his last visit with them due to his complicated condition. I know that Dr. Block acts in good faith for her patients. Many times we would want to ask an urgent question but they are only open Monday through Thursday. She does check her email once a day but it would've been nice to have something akin to a nurse advice line since they aren't open as many days.

I've had Dr. Eberle and Dr. Jollisant plus many more I'm sure I've forgotten, and there's always been excellent bedside manner. However, there is a serious disconnect between the techs, front desk, and the vets. A month or so ago, I took one of my dogs in because she had a persistent hack. This was very concerning for a few reasons: 1) I live in a multi dog household, so I'm if one dog catches something, chances are they'll all get it. 2) my partner and I work in the pet industry. It is vital we keep our pets healthy as to not affect client pets. 3) the dog I brought in had aspirated in August 2022 (treated by another vet since we were traveling), so she is susceptible to respiratory issues and coughs etc, and if not treated could potentially be very dangerous. I called Reed and they were able to set up an appointment asap, which I greatly appreciated. They did a cytology and gave me some medications, and I was told that I would receive results in 24-48 hours. I called back in two days and was told that the cytology would actually take ten days or longer. I told the tech or front desk who I called no problem--my boss is sometimes disconnected from our business and offers things at a rate I can't do or complete so I have been on the other side before. I called back a few times within the next week, and was finally told that we had results but the information needed to be relayed to me via the vet. I wait for a call but a few days pass and I do not receive one. I continue to call/email and I am unable to reach the vet. They give me his personal number and I shoot him a text--no response. At this point, I'm getting pretty impatient and agitated. I was out of medications for my dog and wanted to re-up them on the appropriate ones via the cytology. I believe it's an additional week past, and I finally get a call and am able to come pick up new medications. They tell me after she's done to come in for a check up. 3 days after my dog finishes her second round of meds, I called to let them know I wanted to speak to the vet before setting my appointment because I wanted to reup her medications before doing another physical since I felt she was doing better but not completely well yet. I have yet to receive a response. It's incredibly frustrating for so many reasons. I get it--everyone is busy and so many pets to see with so many issues. I know my multiple calls are probably annoying to them--I'm just another pet parent asking questions and being worried. At this point I don't even want to call again as it seems as I'm just pestering them. It's so frustrating as my dog is still coughing and to get another appointment elsewhere will at least take a week and by then, her condition may worsen. I'm pretty disappointed as this was our go to place, and I had been driving from San Leandro to Saratoga. My hope is the feedback will be taken and hopefully things will be improved, as for now, we're in search of a new place to take our pets to.

After over 2 years of leaving my dog there, and overlooking many qualms (including kennel cough and no accountability for a feeding schedule) I said "no more" today. I picked up my dog on Saturday, during their 2 hr p/u window on weekends, and dared to ask about the extra food I always pack for her in fear that I might experience a delay in picking her up. EVERY time I have picked up my 15 lb, 5 year old, extremely shy, shelter adopted dog, they have handed me her empty bag with no remaining food or an explanation of her feeding schedule. Last Saturday I dared to question where her extra can of prescription dog food was and asked why I wasn't being given any account of her eating schedule. Apparently my questions were not acceptable and the manager called me today saying that she can't keep staff at the facility (all true) and that I upset her one employee there on Saturday by asking questions. She stated that I did not leave an extra can of food for my dog, yet after further research, I found that she was again wrong. Yea, I was done with them after that call... It's not about the 1 can (or total of 7 or 8 cans), it's the lack of accountability and organization at this place. The employee turnover speaks for itself. There used to be intelligent and caring people working there, but under the new management it's not stable. I'd rather quit my job and stay home with my dog than deal and worry about that kind of unprofessionalism. Luckily, I have since found out that there are other more qualified facilities nearby with higher standards and more professional service.
