Dear Ford Shame on you for designing the 2020 Explorer so poorly. Look up how many recalls this vehicle had. The number may surprise you, as it did for me, and I'm one of the few poor unfortunate souls that stood by Ford and believed in the brand. No longer will I, and I will speak with my wallet from here on. Dear Ford Fairfield, Where do I start? Imagine you are driving your young child to a medical appointment. While on the freeway, your vehicle dashboard screen flashes these words: "Powertrain system fault!" You try to maintain speed, but you can't; when you put your foot on the pedal, the vehicle makes a loud grinding noise. Your young child starts to cry because the noise scares them. You do your best not to panic because you're scared too.... My 2020 Ford Explorer with only 36,400 miles! Has a transmission fault. Really. The vehicle is taken to the Ford Fairfield dealership (where I originally purchased it). I check the vehicle in and tell the story of why I'm here. The reply I received while I'm being checked in is "you're just out of the warranty timeframe"--no real care for what was told, no fake care either. The lack of customer care was noted. I mentioned that it should still be under warranty. I was then told the price I had to pay to have it looked at, and that they would let me know what they found. Once I returned home, I set out to find my dealership paperwork, because I knew I had purchased an extended warranty from Ford when I bought the vehicle. Before I found the paperwork, I received the "thank you for visiting Ford " text, so I texted this exact message "Hello, can you forward me the purchase agreement paperwork and warranty paperwork that I purchased with you when I purchased the vehicle? I then received this message "Hello, I'm just in the service department and unfortunately wouldn't be able to provide any of those documents. You'd have to call in and speak with either Sales or the Finance Department. Are you saying you purchased an extended warranty for the Explorer?" How can you not see that I purchased an extended warranty on the computer and when I bought it from this dealership? Luckily, I found the paperwork and was able to quote back what it covered when the warranty was purchased and when it expired. All of a sudden, they could see the warranty and would call them. The job took about 4 days shy of a month, which I do not fault them or the warranty for, but during that time no one could give me an estimate on how long it would take. The Ford dealership would not give me a loaner vehicle either. I was told that Ford provides rentals in Ford warranty situations when needed, but for this particular repair, we are utilizing your third-party warranty. I purchased the vehicle and warranty at this exact dealership; this was a Ford warranty situation, and the vehicle was needed. Then I was told I would have to go through the warranty company. Then I was told, "Unfortunately, there's not much I can do due to how the ' higher-ups' here have set up the rental vehicle policies. " Wish this was disclosed at signing when the vehicle was purchased. I had to rent a vehicle out of pocket and pay a car note for a vehicle I did not have to go to and from work. As of writing this, I still have not heard from the warranty company about covering the cost, and I highly doubt I will. The last straw from this dealership was calling me after the work was finally completed, telling me they would not release the vehicle to me until the warranty company paid them. WHAT? So the warranty was already approved, the work was done, but you will not give MY vehicle back? Why even call me to tell me that? If nothing had been said, I would never have known, but why call me? Why rub purchasing this vehicle in my face even more? I then asked for Robert, the service manager. I forgot to tell you guys that I'd asked for the service manager's number two weeks prior; I left a message and never heard from him. The service member told me he was not in his office and would call me. The dealership already ignored my phone call for answers, and I insisted on waiting on the line until this manager was located. Once the dealership finally did the right thing and let me take my vehicle back home, I found that they left the wires for the vehicle's data link connector hanging out of place near the dead pedal. If this is how they left the vehicle, I can only imagine how much they truly cared for it. I do not recommend purchasing a Ford, nor do I recommend the Fairfield dealership. In all my years owning my Explorer, I never had a smooth experience with repairs or customer service. This Dealership takes no pride or true responsibility for their cars. I would urge you to be very careful and make sure you have copies of all of your paperwork so that you don't run the risk of being stuck with unwarranted repair bills! Sincerely, an unhappy former Ford fan.

Passanger Seat Stolen by Fairfield Ford

I'm currently involved in an ongoing legal matter with Fairfield Ford, so I'll keep this review focused on the facts as I experienced them. I brought my Ford F-450 in for service, and while the truck was in their possession, the seats went missing. What followed has been a long and disappointing process with little accountability or meaningful communication from the dealership. I've been a loyal Ford owner for years and have worked with many service centers, but this situation left me deeply concerned about how customer property is handled and protected. I hope that management and Ford Corporate take a closer look at how this location operates and ensure no other customer has to go through something similar.

Well tried again due to them having Costco pricing but got tricked again to drive down to them have them low ball me on my trade then lie about being able to dealer trade Britney completely lied to me ***** beware not a trustworthy dealership but shame on me for thinking they would do what they said on the phone even talk to Sharon the manager who didn't care at all

People of Solano County DO NOT take your personal vehicles to this ford location they've messed up too many times for me to forgive them it all started a few months ago with a pre purchased part for my interior It took over 4 weeks to recieve because they never ended up ordering it even though I would call weekly to check & see if it had arrived they couldn't even offer me a partial refund just a hey we got you on the next one so here we are my vehicle is due for a recall I was given a 1-2 day turnaround it ended up turning into a 7 day ordeal to fix my rear view camera the technician finished it at 8:00am (time stamped video) I didnt recieve the video until it was 6:00pm saying it was finished while they are already closed. I had to wait an additional 2 days just to pick up my vehicle the problem was not solved and was given 10% off on work (I never wanted or asked for) you guys definitely had me on the next one!!! I get it back and the rear ford oval badge is hanging half on clip missing with a giant gouge taken out of it little did the technician know there is a pre cut location to fit a small screw driver at the bottom to safely remove it thanks for wrecking my week best of luck I wont be back!

Photo of appointment. FYI they don't have 7am appointments. Service doesn't start until 8am. Great job Fairfield Ford.

Two strikes, and I'm done with Fairfield Ford. First, they dropped off my brand-new 2024 Mach-E with only 5 miles of battery. Now, a few months later, I scheduled a service appointment online for 7 AM. I even called on Saturday to confirm they'd be there Monday morning. Come Monday, no one shows up--I had to call them myself to figure out what was going on. On my second call, I learned they don't even service my area, and to top it off, their mobile service isn't equipped to handle the service I scheduled through their own system. Ford makes great vehicles, but clearly, not all dealerships are created equal. Hard pass on Fairfield Ford--take your business elsewhere.

I was surprised by a promotion on a new Audi Q5, so I submitted an online inquiry and immediately heard back from Devin. We went back and forth on the vehicle we were interested in, and after I shared details about our current lease, Devin offered to run numbers for a trade-in. I gave him a target monthly payment, and he worked with his manager to make it happen. Throughout the process, he was friendly, responsive, and never once came across as pushy or salesy. He was transparent about our trade-in value and provided clear quotes for two different trim options. Since we live about an hour and a half away, we were understandably cautious. Jay, the General Manager, reached out the evening before our visit to offer the option of completing the finance application in advance so everything would be ready upon arrival. The next morning, Devin confirmed we were approved and shared the final lease terms. To be honest, we half expected things to change once we got there--either a different monthly payment or a lower trade-in offer. Instead, the experience was exactly as promised. Devin greeted us right away, had the car ready, and after a quick test drive and trade-in evaluation, they honored the original sight-unseen offer and presented the same deal we had been quoted. We were in and out in about an hour. From start to finish, Devin was professional, approachable, and easy to work with. Even after the purchase, he remained responsive--quickly replying to a couple of follow-up questions (even on his day off) and ensuring someone else followed up to assist. All in all, this was truly one of the best dealership experiences we've had. Highly recommend both Devin and Audi Napa Valley.

Our 2017 Acura TLX suffered a connecting rod bearing failure that was covered under Acura's recall. Before the failure, the vehicle routinely achieved fuel economy consistent with Acura's published ratings and our years of ownership experience. Around the time of the bearing failure, fuel economy dropped dramatically and has remained severely reduced ever since. Over the course of several months, we worked extensively with Hopkins Acura, providing fuel receipts, mileage logs, manual MPG calculations, photographs, and detailed documentation. We gave them every opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue. Instead of focusing on finding the root cause, we were repeatedly met with shifting explanations, contradictions, delays, and ultimately a refusal to continue helping. One of the most concerning aspects of the entire experience was the quality of the recall repair itself. After major engine work, the vehicle was returned to us with the battery improperly secured. While Hopkins corrected the issue after we brought it to their attention, it understandably raised concerns about the overall attention to detail during a repair that involved significant engine disassembly and reassembly. The most disappointing part of this experience was dealing with General Manager Mike Gough. Rather than taking ownership of the situation or demonstrating genuine concern for a long-standing customer, his communication reflected exactly the type of stereotypical car dealership mentality most customers dread. When we raised legitimate concerns supported by documentation, his responses became increasingly dismissive. Instead of addressing the facts presented, he ultimately chose to tell us to seek a second opinion elsewhere while simultaneously banning us from future service at any Hopkins Auto Group dealership. Think about that for a moment. After multiple visits, multiple repair attempts, countless emails, and months of effort on our part, their final solution was: "Go somewhere else." Even more frustrating, Hopkins repeatedly suggested obtaining a second opinion from another Acura dealer yet offered no assistance with the cost of doing so. When I directly asked whether Hopkins would cover the expense of the second opinion they were recommending, I never received a response. The email was simply ignored. What stands out most is that nobody ever actually explained why a vehicle that once achieved well over 20 MPG now struggles to achieve 15 to 16 MPG. Nobody identified a root cause. Nobody offered a meaningful plan toward resolution. They simply declared the vehicle "normal" despite extensive documentation showing otherwise. Jessica Wagoner and Sheila Roberts were generally professional throughout much of the process and at least engaged in the conversation. Unfortunately, once the matter reached upper management, customer service and accountability seemed to disappear entirely. If you're looking for a dealership that stands behind its work, thoroughly investigates customer concerns, and takes ownership when problems arise, my experience suggests you should look elsewhere. Hopkins Acura had months of documentation, multiple opportunities to make this right, and every chance to demonstrate exceptional customer service. Instead, they chose to dismiss the concern, refuse future service, and stop communicating when asked difficult questions. Extremely disappointing experience, and based on how this situation was handled, I would not purchase a vehicle from Hopkins Acura of Fairfield nor would I recommend their service department to others.
