We went to this truck at the Haak Winery food truck festival last night and it was the worst experience of the summer. We paid $35 for five adults to get into the festival and were never able to see anything but the food truck lines. There were only five food trucks with hundreds of people and the wait was ridiculous. First we waited on line for over an hour only to find out they were out of more than half the things on the menu. Then, after waiting over an hour for our food, the truck workers couldn't tell us how much longer it would be before we got our food. The food truck worker told us "it'll take as long as it takes." And that we "should've known it would be like this." At that point we asked for our money back. We had young children with us and it was now past 9pm and we needed to get them fed. He refunded our money, but not our tips. Very disappointing; customer service clearly isn't a strong point for these people. read more

Had a light dinner at home and was still hungry. Realized that it was food truck Thursday at my apartment complex. Ran down to grab a burger and some chicken fingers. There wasn't anyone in line so quickly have the order and was handed a buzzer to wait for the food, which was kinda cool so you could move away from the truck. It was pricey. After meal plus tip total was almost $30. The food came, and was great. Portion sizes were large (burger is HUGE!) was just disappointed that the ranch/Queso that's advertised on their menu wasn't included with the chicken fingers. Foreign Policy came to the Elementary School campus I work at today and everything looked amazing! It was so hard to pick what I was going to eat. Got the Korean fries with fried egg on top, Texas Policy Burger, and the Greek Burger. The fries were LOADED with yummy goodness and a lot of meat. The egg on top was cooked really well and we were surprised how fresh the fries tasted even after driving the food to our house. The 2 burgers were MASSIVE. I think the buns were as big as our face hahaha. The Texas Policy Burger sauce was super yummy and the Greek Burger was like a gyro on a bun with lots of tasty tzatziki sauce. I usually skip lunch when I go to the office but today decided to get something to eat. Foreign Policy was at HP today for lunch. It was hard to decide from their menu since they have a good variety of items. I went with the Greek Burger and so glad I did. Turn around time was great and the food was even better. One order is very great portion & filling. So I see everyone getting burgers one day and I'm thinking nope no way am I eating a donut burger Yuck!! So umm, yeah not bending that's blending too many flavors I would surely be sick (but you should try if you can tolerate it because I hear they are Awesome) the lady pointed out to me that my Koreign fries has friends under the Koreign Policy menu and yep there is was Koreign Burger!!! All my favorite ingredients from the fries the cilantro, Koreign beef, Kimchi, spicy kimchi sauce, along with a perfectly seasoned beef patty on the perfectly grilled bun, I added bacon and grilled onions and now I am stalking this food truck hoping they are in driving distance for me to indulge more often than the occasional weekly visits to our office. My problem was with the customer service after I purchased food. i was told food would be ready in 15 minutes and that the pager would work throughout the venue. well, it didnt work in the back of the brewery and the guy didnt let us know after we checked twice on our food. The food ended up being cold (one order of french fries and one order of korean fries is all we ordered). I asked for napkins and was told "we dont have any" as they slid the window closed. So I was driving home with a very empty tummy yesterday late afternoon after a busy day of apt hunting and the food truck park was jumping. I notice a very familiar black truck with big white stripes so I decided today was the day I would try it out. I had previously met Ray, who I can only assume is the or one of the owners. This guy is very charismatic and funny and kinda gave me the low-down on their food fare: Mexican, Korean, Greek American Food. There were, for me, too many choices to choose from: varieties of burgers, fries, tacos and even a chef's special. It took me forever to decide, but I did decide on some tacos; they are 2 for $5 so I said 'why not?' Ok first and foremost, they make their flour tortillas by hand so none of that nasty store bought stuff here. I chose a Mexican taco which had ranchero steak, green onions, cilantro, cheese and a spicy green sauce; I must add that Ray did tell me that the salsa was very spicy so he put it on the side for me to decide on later. My other choice was the Korean taco which had Spicy Korean BBQ beef, green onions, cilantro, cheese, kimchi and a spicy kimchi sauce, which they also put on the side for me. My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I noticed that they were serving bunuelos this evening, and I just HAD to order them as well. If you have never had a bunuelo, it is basically the some concept of a homemade flour tortilla but then deep fried and covered in cinnamon sugar. Luckily I just live like 4-5 blocks down from the food park so my food was still nice and hot when I got back to the loft. OMG, Ray was right that damn green sauce is super killa! I barely put a couple drops on my first bite and man I was coughing, lol; thanks Ray for suggesting it on the side, lol. Ok, let me say that my actual rating would be a 4.5; however, since we are unable to do halfsies, I am not going to take the half point away, lol. Why 4.5 and not a 5? Personally, I prefer a fluffier homemade flour tortilla, and their tortillas are very thin so I had crispy edges on my tacos. This is not such a huge deal to me since the tacos were SO tasty and full of flavor and the meat juicy and tender. I will say that spicy kimchi sauce was not as spicy as the green salsa, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Matter of fact, I think it went well on both of my tacos. I have to try that Greek taco next time because I love tzatziki sauce. Now my lovely bunuelitos.....OH MY HEAVENLY STARS!! Let me tell you that when you eat a bunuelo an hour after it was made, and it is still crispy and has not gone soft, YOU HAVE FOUND THE ULTIMATE BUNUELO! I promise you that it was an hour later that I was able to try one out (there are 2 to an order), and it was very crispy and not soft at all. I had not had a homemade bunuelo since my dad last made them over 20 yrs ago before he died; these bunuelos brought tears to my eyes because I could envision my dad in the kitchen frying up these bad boys. I was not able to eat the 2nd bunuelo until late last night, and I could not believe that it was still crispy; great job Ray!!! Ray and his team have hit the nail on the head, AND to top it all off, they even drizzle sweetened condensed milk over them which totally skyrockets this dish. As Ray put it, there's even love in it, lol, and you can taste the love in their dishes. I can only hope they keep these as a permanent staple on their menu because I think everyone needs to try them at least once.....or twice.....or thrice, lol. If you're ever in EADO (east downtown) and near the Houston Food Truck Park AND you see a big black truck with white stripes and Uncle Sam on the back door, try them out and say hi to Ray. This is definitely the best food truck in Houston. Great customer service + delicious food = winner. I must admit, it is probably not the most healthiest (esp the donut cheeseburger (but so good!)....but you only live once!! I rather die with a happy belly :). However, their Greek burger is a healthier option if you're feeling guilty. If you wanna live it up, also try the kimchi fries! My second food truck was not a bust. After a mix up in the location, remedied by a quick phone call to the number listed, I got my Foreign Policy education. They have a Mexican Policy. A Greek Policy. A Korean Policy. An American Policy. A Vegetarian Policy. A Desert Policy. Mainly Burgers, Pitas, and fries, with plenty of add ones; plus if you check in on Yelp you get a free side of fries which saves you some $, one time. I got the Korean Burger, which is a huge all beef patty, with Kimchee (no shellfish), cheese, No onions for me, and I am pretty sure some other toppings I can't remember. Did I mention this burger was huge, I really needed a partner on this one. The meat was seasoned so well I wanted to eat the entire burger, but just couldn't. The flavors of beef, spicy kimchee, cheese, sauce, and buttery bun was burger heaven. I wanted the Mexican fries, but they couldn't hold the onions, a pre-made mixture issue. So I opted for the Bacon, Queso Fries. So here were had real honest to god bacon, and lots of it. 3 kinds of Queso, White, Yellow and that lovely liquid queso, over the top of crispy seasoned fries. Crispy fries, I ate every last bite of this artery clogging creation. Most people say it's a crime to waste good alcohol, I say it's a crime to waste a perfect fry. It is sad you can not eat the food right then, because it is probably the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, I to travel a ways before I could take my first bite, it had cooled down significantly. It was still awesome. Who cares that the burger is $10, it is worth every dime. I am going back to try the doughnut burger at some point in the future. read more

Putting together a fusion menu for American, Korean, Greek and Mexican I have to give these guys a 5 star in taste, creativity and big hearts. I was first introduced to this wonderful food truck in October when the organization I volunteer with, Vox Culture, put on a graffiti, live music and food truck benefit. Foreign Policy kept to their word and donated a portion of the proceeds to Vox which was a real cool thing to do being that they were not well known like other food trucks around Houston. The first time I tried their menu I tried the American Burger. Let me tell you I was not disappointed. It's a juicy concoction of double beef patty, oozing melted cheese, bacon, onion and a pickle all atop a Cuban bread like bun. YUM! I recently discovered the Greek Fries. AmAZINg! Totally recommend. It's a modern version of a Gyro without the pita. They top it with fresh tomato and white onion which mixed well has an amazing fresh taste all the way through. The main reason I keep coming back is their delicious kimchi fries. A layer of fries, with Korean BBQ beef, kimchi, kimchi sauce, melted queso, green onions all on a little paper tray. YUMM!! OK - so I haven't had the privilege of eating here but my adult son has. He was at Karbach. The Beer Garden was full, a couple hundred people. The food trucks were there. My son ordered a chicken tender sandwich from Foreign Policy. He paid, got his sandwich and melted back into the crowd. He loved the sandwich btw. A few minutes later someone from the food truck found him and handed him a plate with bacon. They had forgotten to put the bacon on his sandwich and went to the trouble to locate him in the crowd. Stopped by The Shed in Jordan Ranch and ordered some food. It took 50 minutes to get our order as there were 4 orders in front of us. Someone who ordered 10 minutes after us got their order 10 minutes before us. When we got home with the order we were missing the desert. The Mexican fries were good and the two American burgers were burned and a bit crunchy. Went back within 20 minutes and they were already gone. Spent $44 plus a $5 tip for two burgers and a fry.
