Suher and team did a wonderful job coordinating our modern Indian wedding from start to finish! Her communication with us was excellent; she took time to understand our vision and did everything possible to give us the wedding we envisioned (and more!). Natalie was my bridal assistant on the day of and did an excellent job. She maintained constant communication, making sure me and my bridesmaids all had enough to eat, running last minute errands for me, etc. At the last minute, my hair stylist had to cancel and although I was panicked, Suher reached out to multiple contacts right away to help me find something. Suher is now part of our family for life! When my husband and I were looking for a wedding coordinator, we didn't really realize what a HUGE part of our lives Suher would become. For us, our wedding was the biggest project we've ever worked on and we knew we needed help. Even though we purchased a "partial" planning package from Suher, her presence in our lives and our planning process was anything but partial. She was there for EVERYTHING. We felt like she was available whenever we needed her for anything we needed, which is remarkable because she even had another wedding 7 days before ours. We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted but also had a clear budget defined and certain things that we didn't care about at all. Suher helped us look for the types of vendors that we wanted to work with and that were within our budget. If what we wanted was outside our budget, Suher presented us with various options so we could understand the difference in pricing and make an informed decision. Having someone to keep us on a good timeline was extremely helpful and Suher would let us know when and what decisions needed to be made. It's like having a third partner in the planning process who brings years of experience in this space. Working with Suher is like having a built in tie-breaker because, let's face it, sometimes we needed her opinion but only if we asked for it and always in a nice way! In addition to being our planner, Suher, in all her enthusiasm, really become our wedding designer too. Suher took over a lot of items that were not important to us, including stationary, flowers, and decor. We sent a few inspo pictures and then she delivered the most gorgeous wedding we have ever seen. She would send things over from instagram and was constantly thinking about what we could do with the design. As non-creatives ourselves, we wouldn't have thought about things like the design of the wedding but it was really amazing seeing everything come together in an elevated way and really made us feel like our day was extra special. She made all the floral arrangements including bouquets and centerpieces. She also designed and set up all the tables and the ceremony stage, and they were STUNNING (see pics). Suher also helped us review contracts, schedule vendor calls, and track vendor payments. Closer to the event, she coordinated insurance with all the vendors and developed our timeline. The day of the event, Suher made sure everything went smoothly and that any problems were dealt with quickly and quietly, which allowed us to fully enjoy ourselves and that is worth every dollar. My HUSBAND and I are still coming off of a high from the most unforgettable wedding weekend, and we owe a massive THANK YOU to Suher (our designer/planner/florist), Kelly (our coordinator), Natalie, and the rest of the FRE team. From the moment we met Suher over a FaceTime call, we clicked and knew she was the person we wanted to hire to help with the design and month of coordination. We even ended up hiring her to do our flowers and she BLEW IT OUT OF THE WATER. Such a gorgeous and thoughtful design to compliment our tropical chic vibe. This was probably the first time I became a bridezilla and freaked out. Suher was so empathetic and found two alternatives to do 8 girls' hair. Suher and Kelly ended up making the call to my makeup artist who was so accommodating and offered to do hair as well. The day went so smoothly. For the after party, Kelly ordered In n Out to surprise our guests. The team even picked it up and set them up so nicely on serving trays. The wedding guests were surprised and so stoked! Let's just say guests put a few in their bags for later, ha! For the month of coordination, Kelly was so on top of it. I really didn't have to worry about coordinating with the vendors. And on the day of, the wedding party was so impressed with how on top of it and thoughtful she was. She even went to our suite at the end of the night and cleaned up so my new hubby and I didn't come back to a mess. So incredibly thoughtful. Suher, Kelly and team are the dream team. Suher was our wedding planner and we had an amazing experience with her! My husband and I never considered ourselves "wedding people" and we do not enjoy planning. However, we still wanted to have a wedding that would allow our friends and family to come together for a fun and beautiful celebration, and we wanted it to be something that felt like an authentic representation of our personalities and interests. In our first call with Suher, we knew she was the one to help us achieve this! We chose her over other planners that we talked to because she asked us lots of questions to get to know our interests, got excited and came up with design ideas on the spot, and seemed genuinely interested in bringing our wedding to life. When we met Suher about six months out from our wedding, we had a venue and photographer, but no other vendors or concrete ideas as to what we wanted. Although we chose her Partial Planning Service, the amount of support and input that Suher provided felt very complete and we couldn't ask for more. Her connections and advice made finding vendors super easy (especially since we live in Northern California and weren't always able to check out options in person), and again as a non-planner, I really appreciated that she came up with decor/design ideas that I instantly loved without me having to do any of the planning work! From advice to coordinating to bringing everything together on the day, Suher was there for us. She even put together all the florals herself! The wedding itself was gorgeous, fun, went super smoothly, and we got so many compliments from guests saying it was one of the coolest they've been to and raised the bar for future weddings! Our overall experience with Suher and her team was that they were extremely unprofessional and disorganized, both leading up to the event and at the event itself. Our biggest complaint was her inability to be accountable for her actions. She consistently blamed vendors and even us as her client for many of her mistakes. We are giving her 2 stars because her strength is in design, however, planning involves budget, contractual review, and logistics - not just design. The following is a list of issues that happened both before and during the event: 1. Throughout the planning process, 7 out of 9 vendors reached out to us personally because they were unable to get adequate information from Suher. 2. Suher consistently asked questions that showed she did not read or fully review vendor contracts. 3. When asked what monetary tips would be appropriate for vendors, she claimed she did not know and needed to ask other vendor contacts. 4. She admitted managing a budget was "not something she does", which we felt was a key responsibility of a planner. We ended up going 35% over our budget as a result. 5. A month before the wedding, Suher flew to Australia for 2 weeks and only notified us the day she departed. At that time, there were multiple vendor contracts and major coordination issues still outstanding. 6. Suher volunteered to coordinate the transportation of our guests to the event in Mexico, only to find out the week of the wedding that the pick up point and border crossing she was planning to use had been closed for over a year - showing she had done no research and had not visited the area as she said she had. We had to hire a consultant the week of the wedding to take on this coordination. 7. We were 45 minutes late to our rehearsal dinner because her team did not communicate with the transportation consultant. 8. Our photographer had to place my veil and prepared to cue me to walk down the aisle because Suher was not present at that moment of the ceremony. 9. Day of coordination was woefully inadequate. Our bridal party and vendors stepped in to handle items that Suher and her team left undone. Suher is very creative, but she is not business minded which led to extreme coordination and contractual issues. We can't thank Suher enough for all that she and her team did for us over a two year period. (Yes, two years!) We got engaged in February 2020 and hired Suher right away, right before the pandemic shutdown. She helped us navigate the myriad of covid restrictions so that we could get married that summer. This was no easy feat, as the restrictions at the time made everything more difficult and confusing, including venue restrictions, guest number limitations, vendor scarcity... even getting a marriage license was extremely difficult during that time. Suher handled all of this with grace and ease (at least from our perspective!)! She made it so easy for us. We didn't have to figure out the new rules and restrictions (which were ever changing and evolving at the time!), and she figured out all the options and helped us craft a beautiful 10-person garden wedding at The Mission San Diego (with remote guests over Zoom), which wound up being more perfect than we ever could have imagined. She even managed to track down and get in contact with the priest who married us when we weren't able to get in touch with him ourselves or through any of our contacts. Suher is seriously AMAZING and GETS THINGS DONE! Then, nearly 2 years later, it was finally time to plan our party. Suher and her team planned our dinner reception at Juniper & Ivy, with all the perfect touches to suit our personalities. It was fabulous and she/they really went above and beyond to make it personal and lovely for us. From the menu, to the décor, to the music, to taking care of the babysitters for our littlest guests, Suher and her team handled it all and we are so very thankful! We were truly able to relax and enjoy the event with our family and friends we hadn't seen in so long. I will always be so thankful for Suher and all she did for us, going above and beyond in so many ways! I was continuously amazed by her ability to make things happen and to do it without causing a fuss or making us worry. She is a wonderful, gifted person, friend, and wedding planner extraordinaire!! When I first got in contact with Suher, I told her I had a challenge for her: a small wedding, approx. 10 guests, and less than 2 weeks until our ideal date. There was not a single hesitation in her voice when she told me that not only can this be done, but it will be everything I wanted it to be. How can I summarize nearly a years worth of work into a single review? Well to start - Francine & Danielle are the dream team. I went with the full wedding package. No regrets on that whatsoever. 1. The initial meeting went really well. I felt Francine & Danielle had a fresh & current take on what weddings are about, all the while understanding my vision (which included some traditional "stylings".) 2. Francine is extremely organized. She has so many useful spreadsheets it makes you feel safe and secure. She will build you a personalized time line, budget, invite list, etc... So you know no stone will go left unturned. She will also keep you on track throughout the whole planning process. 3. Danielle and Francine are so creative. (Francine gives Danielle this credit...) They will discuss your vision, listen closely, and execute to perfection. Trust in that they will understand what you want. And in those few moments when you may not be on the same page, just tell them what you want and no questions asked... They'll make it happen (within reason.) And even when I found little extra things for the wedding, Francine and Danielle were just as excited as I was and could not wait to see how it would all come together. That is good stuff. 4. They are fun and professional women. In those moments when I felt like I was being a bossy micro-manager, they just listened and understood. It made for a wonderful collaboration. I felt heard, understood, and I knew I could trust them in the process. Once I knew we were meshing well, I felt our personalities worked well together. (That's a bonus.) 5. They have connections to great vendors. The florists, the cake(s), the beauty stylists, the musicians, the decor rentals, photographers, hotels, etc... Everything hired and bought was executed very well. 6.Then the day arrived and everything was beautiful. The details were spot on. I just could not have been happier. I was on cloud 9 and could relax knowing this was happening and I could enjoy every moment. 7. With that said, there are always hiccups along the way. Nothing is perfect. There will always be things that aren't flawless. That's the way life goes. Just remember that in the grand scheme of things FRE is fantastic and these ladies will work hard to make it work no matter what. Just speak up and they will help make things right. That's what makes a good wedding planner. Just FYI: I was a very hands-on bride and that's the way I wanted to be. That is not to say Francine and Danielle were relaxed through the process... A wedding coordinator wasn't originally in our budget, but it was honestly the BEST investment and decision we made. Francine Ribeau Events came recommended by the owners of our venue and hiring them as our Month Of Coordinator ensured that our September wedding was flawless. We just wanted to thank Danielle from FRE from the bottom of our hearts for helping to make our wedding day beyond wonderful - it was absolutely perfect! We, and all of our guests, had a truly fabulous time! From our first meeting in June with Danielle and Francine, my then-fiancé and I left thoroughly impressed by their day-of timeline alone. They put us totally at ease. And although we only met Francine once, she spoke of her team with such pride and enthusiasm and, of course, it's now easy to see why. After our first meeting, we knew we found our best match with Danielle! And we knew that no matter what happened (like our on-site coordinator forgetting to attend our rehearsal walk-through ... oopsie!) that she would make sure our wedding went smoothly. And it did. We hired Suher and her team at Forever Refined Events for an open house we were having at our office. She was very responsive and professional in all of our interactions. She has great eye for design and was able to turn our parking lot into a beautiful event space. Her vendors are great, everyone was on time and interacted with our guests in a very friendly manner. So, our wedding is over. The planning is done, the pictures are in (see my review of Natalie Kardos, It's Too Sunny Out Here), the honeymoon has ended, and here we contemplating what a wonderful event we had. We owe so much of the event's success to Francine. There is absolutely no way we could have done it without her. She was instrumental to us on so many levels, for so many things! People who have never been married just can't imagine all of the details that go into such an event. You think you know, you think you understand, but it's truly overwhelming and having someone like Francine on your team is priceless. Steven and I are strong headed and we had very exact ideas of what we wanted. Francine gracefully took in our thoughts and turned them into concrete plans. She saw what we were asking for and made it work. We wanted each table to have an individual cake as part of the centerpiece - that's as far as I had thought. Get the cake, get the stand. Not Francine! She saw things like when will the knives/servers come out? Cake plates? How will people know when to cut the cake? How will you handle it if someone digs in too early? Francine's detailed mind saw what I wanted and made it reality, by understanding all of the details surrounding what i thought was something simple. The whole event was like that! Francine saw things in a way that Steven and i didn't, even though he and i are fairly detail-oriented. Francine knows that i don't drink champagne so she had my favorite iced coffee drink on my table in a champagne flute for toasts. she knows that brides sometimes fall apart so she had a 4-piece Bridal Emergency Kit in the bridal suite - tylenol, tape, deodorant, tic tacs, band aids, scissors, hair gel, nail polish, hair pins, safety pins, paper and pen...no girl scout or boy scout is that prepared. Francine also handled our vendors. we didn't have to worry about a thing on the day! she handed over checks if needed. she coordinated time schedules (you should see her minute-by-minute excel time frame that we all got prior to the big day!) and most importantly she was in constant contact with the venue to make sure that everything was exactly what we wanted. if we weren't sure about something - tradition, policy, ceremony, etiquette, anything! - Francine knew. she knew, and she interpreted, and she read between the lines. she worked serious magic, and we appreciate every little thing that she had her hands on. the event was polished, perfect, smooth, seamless, timeless, classy, and exactly the day that Steven and i had wanted. how many brides can say that? I've had quite a few in my immediate circle get married recently and each and every one has a complaint about something. one girl's father is still complaining about the many-thousand-dollar "wedding nazi" that they hired, who didn't do 1/4 of the things that Francine did. that same father called us after the wedding to thank us and express how much fun he had at the event. you plan, you dream, you think you know what you're in for on your wedding day. no one really has any idea what actually happens until you do it. i am here to happily tell you that the feeling you get from your wedding day is not something you'll ever feel again. i look back on the day and i think "it was perfect." no flubs, no mistakes, nothing was omitted. Francine is the wedding coordinator extraordinaire! She is highly organized and extremely thorough. We contracted her for the Month-of Package and we were so impressed. We had a destination wedding and knew that we would need the extra help. Francine not only provided that extra help but she was also always available for ALL questions or concerns. She answered even the most frivolous of questions with speed. On the day of, we only had to concentrate on getting ready. When we walked into the venue, we were blown away! Every single little thing was perfect. We had a lot of little items that needed to be set out or set up and she had it all done impeccably. Before the ceremony, she kept everyone organized and calm. First off. If you are getting married or having a party, you would be crazy not to call Francine. Not only is she the most organized person I have ever met but she is so patient too! Francine was amazing! We could definitely not pulled off organizing and planning a fabulous wedding in San Diego from San Francisco without Francine's help and support. Francine was the perfect wedding planner for us in every sense, she understood our sense of style and what we wanted in the wedding from the get go. All vendors she recommended were absolutely great. She was uber responsive over email and doing calls with us to plan, as we were not in the area. When we were in SD Francine would always make time to meet with us. When my fiance and I decided we were going to get married - we faced a few unique problems. We had just had a baby, I wanted a really specific look for my wedding, and I had crazily decided that I wanted that wedding to happen four months from when I decided it was "time". I knew I could never achieve the level of detail that I wanted by doing the wedding myself, I frankly wasn't even sure it COULD be done in my time frame, but I was determined to try. My fiance suggested using a wedding planner to help me out. I didn't know where to start, so I went to yelp to look for wedding planners in San Diego. Francine Ribeau Events showed up along with a few other people. The thing that struck me was how FRESH Francine's designs looked. Every other planner I had looked at just seemed so old fashioned or over the top gaudy to me. I wanted something that looked - current and beautiful without being ostentatious. Something clicked in my head and I knew that Francine was the planner for me. A week later I signed a contract with her for full service planning. I loved that when I told her I wanted this very detailed wedding in four months, she never blinked an eye. She said she would do it. And she did! Within two days of signing my contract, Francine had scheduled me into three beautiful boutiques to look for wedding dresses. She was able to immediately envision and recommend a venue that perfectly captured my desire for a Spanish feel to the wedding. She was just so on top of things, and realized that time was really of the essence. I was impressed with how many contacts she had with vendors. As the weeks went on, I met with vendors to discuss flowers and hair and photography and was struck by how all of the vendors I spoke with really LIKED Francine and wanted to work with her. She kept us on track with our budget, she was always incredibly responsive with emails and phone calls and she was really innovative. I told her that I absolutely did NOT want an arch to get married under, and she came up with this amazing Spanish garden that encircled us instead. I was constantly surprised at the beautiful ideas she came up with to make my vision come to life. As our wedding day approached, Francine kept a detailed list of our wedding party, she made timelines so that we knew where we were supposed to be and when we were supposed to be there. This is LONG overdue but so well deserved. I met Suher in Fall 2016 and fell absolutely IN LOVE with her. At the end of our meeting I told her, I told her I loved her and she's hired! I passed up someone I knew personally, to hire Suher because I just had a really good feeling. She was just so detailed in everything she presented. Suher - WORST EVER coordinator. Rude to the guests. Was not interested in performing her duty as promised. Told host "to go and do it yourself" We wasted so much money depending on her. If the company calls me I will tell exactly what she has been failed in delivering her service as agreed upon and just got money. All the other positive reviews you see here, in my opinion, are questionable to our factual experience. SUHER - WORST WORST WORST. BEWARE by getting caught in her sweet talk & promise , that she will deliver what she tells you she will. when she wants your business. one should evaluate thoroughly before believing. There are quite a few better coordinator out there. You will be very sorry as the event will be flopped (like part of ours where she was responsible) Even if the company refunds the money, Event is over, bad bad memory left for us forever. This event was very disorganized. There was no clear timeline to follow. We kept having to search for the coordinator. The assistants were just standing there waiting for instruction. They didn't seem to know what they were supposed to be doing. The coordinator was frazzled and lost her temper with two of the guests. Very inappropriate conduct.
