Excellent dentist. I have been to other dentists in LA and on the east coast and Dr. Shelyan is by far the best. I had major dental surgery over the past year and always knew exactly why and what the next steps were to get my teeth in good shape. He truly cares about his patients and takes the time to explain your treatment options. His staff also does the same. They breakdown your options, cost, and answer any questions you may have. Also a great perk that you can text their office to reschedule appointments and they send reminder texts if you want them. All around great service, very nice, professional, and attentive staff. I'm pretty alarmed and upset by the practices here. The front receptionist, Jocelyn is very sweet, and the dentist was kind to me in person however when I went in for an examination and a cleaning, I was told I had multiple cavities and needed gum irrigation and fluoride wash. The out of pocket cost of the filings (plus fluoride, etc) with insurance totaled around $1200. They also told me I was prone to cavities which was odd because I've only had one cavitiy in my life. I ended up paying $160 out of pocket for the xray, flouride and gum irrigation which Sarit, the office manager, told me was "absolutely necessary" (it was 100% not according to other opinions) and I regret paying this. I got TWO second opinions and both practices told me I had ZERO cavities and to not touch my teeth. This was extremely extremely alarming to me that this practice told me I required to have 4 filings with extra unnecessary treatment such as Laser. I am pretty shocked and thought it would be best to share as I won't be returning. read more

Forever smile has been a great place to take care of a lot of my "deferred" teeth and dental hygiene. They're included in my guardian health insurance. From what I've seen at other practices or through talking with friends, their prices seem slightly more affordable than the alternatives. They have on occasion offered discounts for procedures or visits not fully covered by insurance as well. I've had a few fillings with them and other than the initial, short term sensitivity, haven't had any issues. On top of that Dr. Shelyan, Sarit, and the hygienists I've had are always available and pleasant to see. I was with the same dental practice for 14 years. About a year ago, the previous doctor sold his practice to Dr. Shelyan - and how I regret that my wonderful dentist decided to sell to Dr. Shelyan. On my last visit, the doctor didn't even bother to come in the room for the examination, and still charged my insurance for his service. The office was completely disinterested when I raised this issue. I regret, after 14 years with the same practice, I am now looking for a new dentist. I could not recommend Forever Smile any less.
