What a wonderful surprise! Was heading back home to the city and craving something sweet. Spotted this bakery and pulled in to see if I could find something. Got a delicious chocolate cookie (it was called the Chocolate Big Dipper Cookie) which was perfect! Not too sweet, moist and fresh. They had a number of different cookie options that all looked great. The owner was really lovely and even offered to give me some free cupcakes as a first timer. I was advised to make a slight change in the frosting I'd requested so that the texture was better, and I was contacted for a higher resolution photo so the picture didn't come out pixelated looking. As a traveling manager who spends 1/2 of the year in hotels and has a gigantic sweet tooth plus an obsession with frosting, I can rank Forever Sweet's cupcakes a 7.5/10. 1.yellow cake with white buttercream frosting- The cake was slightly dense with wonderful flavors and I'm quite sure it was completely made from scratch. The frosting had a nice butter flavor to it and a nice consistency. The ratio of cake to frosting was very good. 2. lemon cupcake with a lemon cake and lemon frosting (maybe.)- The lemon cake had an outstanding flavor and a light airy sponge to it- It seemed to be a bit processed like a grocery store lemon poppyseed muffin , but i still loved it. The frosting was not special. It had a nice consistency but didn't have a fresh taste of lemon, more of an imitation flavor/ if it was plain buttercream, it was not nearly as good as the buttercream on the yellow cupcake. You know, I'm at this age where I'm obsessing over stupid things and wasting way too much time doing so. More on that in a second. First the cupcake review.....Perfectly fine and delicious. My kids love stopping here. I wish the cupcakes were a skosh bigger for the price. (how bout the size of those cupcakes at Crumbs, right?) There isn't much selection the times I've been in there, but what we've gotten was great. OK, back to my complaint, which really doesn't have much to do with Forever Sweet. It's the engineering of the single plastic containers they use. They are manufactured by Solo. If you look at the bottom (I'm adding a picture in the photo section which actually doesn't help, but take my word for it) you'll see it is beveled. (You may also notice a beer bottle in the background of the picture. Don't judge. OK, go ahead and judge, I don't care.) Without a flat surface, the cupcake is forced to flop in one direction, ultimately smearing the frosting and making a bit of a mess. Perhaps if the server used the packaging upside down they would get a flatter, more stable surface. The great thinker Adam Carolla recently pointed out the major design flaw of plastic pitchers used in EVERY restaurant across this great land. You will see every busboy NOT using the pitcher as they were intended (ie. tipping it via the side) in order to get ice into customer's glasses. It just drives me batty when a turkey gets mass-produced and nobody calls the designers out on it. I'm looking at you Solo Cup Company! Why would you implement that stupid bevel??? This will keep me up at night! read more

The customer service and commitment from this owner is incredible. I live in California and called in an order of chocolate cupcakes for delivery for my big sister's 30th birthday today. Keep in mind, the date of this review is in peak Coronavirus/COVID-19 times, so birthdays aren't normal, and deliveries can be hard to come by (with businesses closed) or impersonal (with the chuck-on-the-front-porch-and-run-away approach). Sky answered the phone and immediately drew me in, being so personable and helpful. He joked a little, was so cheerful especially for being a business likely losing their butt in deliveries and slow orders with the COVID-19 situation, and he kept throwing in extras to the order. By the end of conversation I was given "homework" to look up Alice Cooper on Spotify and was told my sister would have (pro bono) a dozen eggs (#corona love) and a balloon from his friend's gift shop added to the order as well as a personal birthday serenade. When the cupcakes arrived at my sister's place Sky also had made a stop at his other friend's bakery and grabbed a giant bag of fresh bagels to include in the birthday surprise. He is absolutely the most committed baker I've ever "met." My sister was so surprised and got a kick out of the cute pink car he showed up in. I couldn't have called a better person. VERY tiny place. Awkward parking lot... you can get in but very hard to cross traffic (lots of traffic AND a railroad crossing) to leave. I stopped in here one day while driving around Norwalk. I needed a custom cake for my son's first birthday. I went on good faith with all the positive reviews on Yelp and cute postings they have on their FB page. They are a bit slow to reply via email so I paid them a visit since they are close to home. I must have picked a good day to drop in because both Sky and Fran was there to help plan out the details of the cake. I was initially just going in there to get a vibe as my plan was to visit a few other local bakeries, but they won me on sight since they customer service was fantastic. Sky even offered 2 complimentary cupcakes since I've never tried their products! They were delicious! I took off 1 star because when I called them a few days before the party to finalize/confirm the cake and payment details, they seemed to have misplaced all the paperwork thus I had to almost start from scratch explaining everything. Fortunately, as we went into the details, they did eventually remember me and found the paperwork. I did panic a little but all was well in the end. They delivered the cake as promised and set it up beautifully. The execution was excellent! They nailed what I was looking for in looks, and the effect of the rainbow swirl cake was fantastic! I also ordered a Smash Cake for the little guy which was perfectly decorated in theme! While the cake portion was moist and delicious, the filling and frosting was definitely on the uber sweet side. When my guest list grew, he suggested adding cupcakes so that I wouldn't have a ton of leftover cake by going up to the next cake size. I'm so sad. The cake i ordered was for my wedding on May 24th. I ordered a simple plain white cake with flowers but they didn't want to put the flowers in so my family had to. The plain white cake looked fine. But when me and my husband went in to cut the cake, it was so hard! It was crumbly and dry, all the guests hated it. They kept asking where I ordered it from and I was so embarrassed. Never going her again. I called today and ordered a cake to be delivered to my dad at work. I knew the last-minute ask would be difficult, but I figured it was worth a shot. The woman who I spoke with checked with the kitchen to see if they could accommodate and I was told they could, and would deliver the cake between 4:30 pm and 5 pm, which was perfect as my dad was leaving work at 5:15 to go out for his birthday dinner. I paid a $15 delivery fee for the last minute order. After all of that, the cake didn't show up until 5:40 pm. I find that very unprofessional. I know it was last minute, but had I been told it wouldn't be delivered until late, I would have tried a different bakery. UPDATE: 2/23; I received a call from the bakery after they had seen my Yelp review. They don't normally check here but happened to today and reached out. They initially offered to send me some free cupcakes, but as I am not in the area, they refunded the delivery fee instead!
