Good food, decent service, & adorable little bakery/cafe. The baked items we took home were super good. Lunch was okay. I'd like to try breakfast someday.

    Love the antiques!

This is a wonderful little pastry shop that serves breakfast and lunch in addition to cookies and other goodies. The owner greeted us warmly and gave us great advice about the fresh croissants that just came out of the oven. The shop is decorated with all sorts of interesting things, and I like the color scheme and antiques. This is a must visit if you are in the area!

Ok guys, you really need to try Forevers Bakery on Hwy 99 if you love freshly made from scratch baked items, along with breakfast and lunch. We ate there for the first time yesterday and it was outstanding! I ordered the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and it was SO tasty. It had tarragon chicken, mayo, onions, celery, tomatoes, lettuce and probably other yummy things. My Mom ordered their special which was an Italian sandwich along with their potato and leek soup. We shared halves of both of ours so I was able to try the Italian one as well. It had pesto, sun dried tomato, ham, salami, olives and other things. It tasted like an unbelievable slice of pizza straight from Italy. I also tried her soup and it was incredible. We also had a scoop of their awesome potato salad which was so flavorful! I had read a few reviews on this place prior to going in, but we were both really blown away at how absolutely tasty it was! I've heard their French dip, salads, quiche and a many other things they make are amazing as well! They actually have quite a large breakfast & lunch menu. Also, their place is really darling, clean and the staff are super friendly and accommodating! I personally miss Rosemary's Cafe which was located downtown. I honestly think Forevers might even be better, which is really hard to believe! I can't wait to take my fiancé back to try their breakfast which is served all day. They have biscuits & gravy which is his favorite! I'm also anxious to try their bakery items they have so beautifully presented in their showcase. I also have read that they do a lot of amazing special order cakes, cupcake and cake pops. They're on Facebook and Instagram and have been around here for two years now. What the heck!? Wish I had known sooner! They're a breakfast and lunch joint so their hours are 8 AM to 4 PM and closed Sundays and Mondays. I'm also including a picture of a really cool Mother's Day box treat idea that includes a $20 gift certificate for Mom. Great deal and idea!

    More options!

It's a shame this place doesn't have more reviews than it does. I happened to catch the word "bakery" out of the corner of my eye while cruising Hwy 99 for a decent donut shop this morning. Tucked back in a strip mall just north of Hazel Dell Lanes (Bowling Alley), and positioned in such a way you don't see it well from the highway, it's an easy shop to overlook. But with loads of parking and an overall convenient location to access, once you find it I hope you'll return regularly! I wish I would have caught the Owner's name, but she was sweet and welcoming as soon as I opened the door. She gave me a quick run-down of their offerings, and assured me EVERYTHING is made fresh in-house! The display case is loaded with all sorts of pastries and desserts; far more than what you'll find at ANY donut shop! I narrowed my view to a Raspberry Crème Croissant or a Cheese Danish with Berry Jam. I asked for a recommendation and then opted for the Croissant. Good God - it was heavenly. The ratio of Bavarian Crème to raspberry jam was perfect. The croissant itself was flaky and fresh. I can't get over how delicious it was! I'll certainly be back in the future - most definitely to sit down for breakfast or lunch. According to their menu, they serve up another personal favorite - Biscuits and Gravy! 10/10 - 100% chance I'll be back in near future.

Really nice addition to HWY 99! Just got back from a tasty lunch with my husband to break up the work day. It was a real treat. Such a cute spot with lovely decor and friendly staff. We got the peanut butter chocolate bar and snickerdoodle cookie to share and they were phenomenal. All the other pastries looked divine and I look forward to trying more! For lunch my husband had the Italian mama and I ordered a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant but I think they accidentally gave me a turkey sandwich instead. Not what I wanted but it was still tasty and I was hungry so I didn't take it back. The sandwiches were both quite good but we felt they were a little expensive for the size and didn't come with any chips or anything. That's why I took off one star. Will be back for cake, pastries, and other baked goods!

We were on our way to visit Mt. Hood that day and I saw that Nayhely's Place wasn't too far from where we were staying. The reviews were solid, and the food looked delish. I didn't want anything too heavy or massive and I could tell that the food there had a homemade touch. The prices were reasonable too. Upon arrival, we easily found a parking spot right in front of the restaurant. The restaurant itself was pretty bare bones, but clean, and there were several groups of older folk dining in. It was around 10 am, but it was quiet and peaceful. I love that this restaurant is family-run, and one of the daughters quickly seated us at a comfy booth. It didn't take too long for us to decide on our meals. I went with the corned beef hash breakfast while my husband went with the bacon breakfast. Both of us chose scrambled eggs, hash browns, and sourdough toast. Our food arrived pretty quickly, and I was so excited to dig in. The corned beef hash was perfectly seasoned, with plenty of onions and bell peppers. I've never had good corned beef hash (besides the ones from a can) and this was excellent. The meat was tender as well. The hash browns were perfectly crispy on the outside while soft on the inside, and the eggs were fluffy. The toast came buttered but we asked for jam as well. I had a bite of my husband's bacon and it had the most satisfying crunch. We added Tapatio to our eggs and I also added ketchup to my hash browns. Both sauces definitely elevated my breakfast. Overall, I was very pleased that the meal was balanced in terms of portion size and flavor and not very oily. I left feeling full, but not stuffed, which is always key for me when dining at a breakfast spot. My digestive system also doesn't always enjoy breakfast food after, but I had zero problems with the food here. I'm so glad we stumbled upon Nayhely's Place while searching for a yummy breakfast spot in Vancouver, and would love to support this family-run business again the next time we visit the PNW!

The food was good and the waitstaff were wonderful--polite, attentive, and clearly doing their best. Unfortunately, I witnessed Clay berating one of the waitresses in the walkway, loudly pointing at tables and calling out what seemed like table numbers. His tone, in my opinion, was verbally abusive. He then slammed an object on a table in the small service area where the waitresses were prepping orders. Every time he entered that space, his body language was tense--he'd barge through without acknowledging anyone, speaking in a tone so rude and dismissive it felt like he didn't see them as people at all. The staff visibly shrank away from him, clearly uncomfortable. When I asked to speak with him, Clay addressed my husband and ignored me entirely. I calmly explained that the way he treated his staff came across as abusive and unacceptable. His response was to justify his behavior as "keeping things running smoothly" and to deny that it was abusive at all. I completely understand having a bad day but this was lack of basic respect which clearly showed that it wasn't just a bad day. As someone who's been a manager and a business owner, I believe no one should be treated that way. It was disheartening to watch, and I wasn't the only one who noticed--several other diners left shortly after. The staff deserve better. I do want to add, before posting such a negative review that I asked around the hotel next door we were staying at if anything like this had been reported or mentioned before. Apparently it had but since Clay is responsible for taking any complaints, who knows if the owner is aware. We loved the Indigo Hotel and will stay many more times but we will not be ordering room service as it comes from that restaurant.
