Excellent calzones, pizza, and wraps! One of our favorites. Very quaint and excellent service.

I would give this establishment zero stars if I could. They allow unruly patrons and continue to serve them alcohol even when they are being irate and cursing and talking irrationally in front of families and children. They allowed a large party to just get up and take the table a hostess was in the process of seating us at and then allowed them to curse at us and cause a very inappropriate seen. They never sat us and we ended up just leaving after waiting more than 45 minutes for a table. Little apologies were received and the unruly party was allowed to stay and carry on in a very uncivilized manner. If you like a bar crowd with no rules this is the place for you, if not go next door to Sun King, definitely more family friendly :( read more

Let me start by saying that the food was delicious! I can see myself going here again, simply because of the food. However, the customer service was awful to say the least. We ordered an appetizer and we were brought the wrong dish. We alerted our server and they brought us the correct one and did not take the wrong appetizer back with them. At the end of our meal, our group of 8 was all charged with the wrong items. We had underage people being charged alcoholic drinks and we were charged for both appetizers, even the one that was incorrectly brought out. We spoke to a manager and all she said was "well did you eat it?" We explained that the dish was left on our table, by no mistake of our own. So yes, we ate it. She told us she would charge us for it then. We were frustrated. So she gave us "free appetizer" coupons. However, these were only allowed to be used after 9pm and after $20 of food was ordered. Apparently this was a better solution than just getting rid of the charge for the appetizer that we didn't order. Definitely not a good way to keep customers around. read more

My brother is the head brew master here. Even though I myself am not much of a beer fan, they had many options to choose from! The pricing was super reasonable and there was a nice menu of food to choose from. I ordered the bbq pork sandwich and it was amazing! The flavor was spot on with the tangy bbq sauce and the fries were so good! If you are in the Carmel area I would highly recommend giving this place a shot! read more

3.8 stars. Cool environment, good service, in a neat part of downtown Carmel, and good fried pickles. The Sante Fe salad could have been better. It was fresh and the ranch jalapeño dressing was good, but was kind of basic and lacked flavor. I still recommend coming here as they probably aren't known for their salads and the pickles were great. read more

If I could give negative stars for a rating I absolutely would do so here. As someone who is from & grew up in Carmel, IN where this restaurant is located, I will one million % never be eating here again. I will keep this short and to the point as can be. I was informed of my parents most recent experience there this past week of February 3rd weekend. They were celebrating multiple February birthdays and had a party of 15-20 people. Very reasonable & expected at times for being a so called "bar." My mother informs me that upon entry and being the first one in to ask for a few tables for the party of 15-20, she went to the counter and when asked how many she told them the number. This is during the middle of the daytime too 3pm or so so do not think this all happened at 8-9pm or at prime dinner hours. Upon telling the hostess, the owner overheard my mother tell the worker the number and proceeded to ask with a tone, "how many do you have again?" My mom repeated herself. After what my parents told me, this is why this review exists. The owner proceeded to tell my mother that her group and I quote, "will not be eating here at all and that's that cause I am the owner and what I say goes." Directly after a customer simply says the party size, the owner fires back with that. My mother holds her tongue, walks to the bar, and waits for her husband, my father, to come in from parking the car and for others to come in that were not far behind. Once 2 more couples joined, the owner proceeds to tell those there a part of the group that "there is absolutely no standing and ass'es in seats at all times or go somewhere else." My parents and friends all looked at each other and were in disbelief at how this lady owner was talking to them all as if they had done actual damage to the bar in any way. A so called "bar" would expect and encourage large parties especially since it is glorified bar food with many tv's to watch and choose from. You would think they can simply be able to delegate and put some tables together like other countless bars and restaurants do to make their customers feel welcomed, warm, and taken care of. I understand completely if a bar is understaffed or short of hands, but it is how you communicate that across to people coming in with large parties. We have eaten at this bar 50+ times, spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars over the years at this place, and have recommended it to others. That ended after this extremely rude and unprofessional encounter with a terrible owner. If the owner would have kindly said "hey guys we would love to have you but are understaffed at the moment and food & drink might take a bit to get out to you guys" or basically something way more customer friendly. Not point blank tell a customer that "you guys are not eating here cause I don't like the number size of your party and what I say goes!" Like what you don't talk to people like that especially in the food & beverage industry. Again, sorry for this being so long but it has been brought to my attention this has happened to other big party sizes in the past as well. Also, after my parents and their friends left after feeling so rudely talked to and not welcomed AT ALL, they walked 5 seconds to Sun King Brewery which is right next door and they welcomed their whole entire party with open arms and took care of them like true professionals and did things the right way with no issues at all. Talk about Fork & Ale missing out on easily thousands of dollars that day, let alone many more visits to their bar now absolutely not happening again, and taking their talents to every other eating & drinking establishment near them. It is all about how you speak to people, if something cannot happen or be arranged then say it kindly or in a much better way than barking orders. Also, several sports games were on that day specifically IU vs. Purdue so god for bid a large group comes in, wants to watch the game, order food & drink, and walk around a bar a bit. Like, it is a bar haha. Like I said, grew up in Carmel, back often to visit, been here WAY before Fork & Ale have been, and when hearing how disrespectful the lady owner was verbally to my parents and their friends, I had to write this review. For those reading, how would you like it if someone treated your parents like this and their friends when walking in and simply letting the hostess know they have a party of 15-20 due to celebrating several birthdays? Will no longer be coming here after this extremely unprofessional encounter. Do better Fork & Ale. read more

Came in for lunch with a girlfriend, and ordered the special of the day: "$5 Margarita or Cocktail of the Day". When the bill came, the margaritas were $10.50 and we asked them to be updated. Apparently we ordered the wrong margaritas, and they didn't even have a house margarita of the day ‍ They refused to correct our drink prices and lost two customers over $11 I know restaurants are hurting.. but why even bother with specials you won't honor? read more

Sorry Sun King the best place in midtown Carmel. Much cheaper than Sun King and daily specials can lead to prices half the cost of their neighbor. Service always been top notch and location when the weather is nice is perfect. Outside on the plaza you have the option to play complimentary games such as pool and table tennis. Free parking across the street during non business hours has lead it to be my favorite place in Carmel. read more

This place is awesome!!! Our first visit was on a busy Friday night. Told the wait was 30-45 minutes and we only waited 10! Food was amazing! Lots of options and super fresh ingredients! Fish tacos and Boss burger were amazing. Onion rings & fries great! Fried siracha shrimp appetizer is a must! Ask for Quinn as a server, he was awesome, gave recs, attentive service. Everything's priced really well! Plenty of beer and some super pretty cocktails. Owner came by to check on how our visit was. We will definitely be back to watch a pacers game on their big TVs!!! read more

Build your own calzone, I never realized how much I needed this in my life until I came to Fork & Ale. The location is absolutely perfect and offers plenty to do before and after a visit. Business lunch or dinner with friends, it's a great spot for both. Great owners who know what they're doing and can usually be seen working and checking in with guests. When I requested to speak to the manager the employee was very rude about it, over all very disappointed in how they treat their customers. Nice, new spot in an exciting area of Carmel. The menu is diverse and doesn't just mimic every other menu in the area. We stopped in for the first time Sat night and we will not be going back. It was a busy evening, the only available table was right by the door, which was fine, but the hostess literally pointed at it and snapped "sit there". Ok, we sat. Then our food arrived. I ordered a turkey burger. It arrived raw in the middle. I asked for a different one or to have this one brought up to temp and the server didn't understand why I wanted a TURKEY burger cooked all the way through??? She sorta of rolled her eyes and said "fine, I'll have them cook it well done." She got me a new one and was kind about it though. I chose this new place to try for my birthday dinner. To say the least, we were very disappointed. Even our fantastic server, Kim, was upset with the kitchen and how they could have messed up 3 of the 3 calzones ordered. And these are their specialty! I left a review on the restaurant's website and the owner contacted me within a few days. She did the standard apology and offered a gift card to return and try them again. That's been 3 weeks ago and I'm still waiting. Just not a great way to start out a new business. There are way too many similar restaurants within a very short distance who will probably care a bit more for my business and who will get it before Fork and Ale does. read more

Very cute restaurant, I for sure felt the luxury side of it. The fries were AMAZING by the way, get them for sure. The outside seating is great! The service was ok, she forgot to refill my water though, so I had to get my second glass from a bottle my mom had in her purse. She was busy though, so no worries! The chicken fingers were ok. Overcharged me and the two people before me on my bill. Cameron contacted me saying he would take care of it and leave me the correct refund at the bar and I could come pick up next time I'm around the area. Came in the next week to find no refund and was told Cameron doesn't work there anymore. What's the lowest level you can leave a place? Think of that, and subtract a few more stars. The waitress was completely aloof, and completely ignored us for the duration of our stay. My Bloody Mary was more water than anything else, and my girlfriend received the wrong beer. This should have been easy to rectify, but...no waitress. The food was "meh" at best, to include the cheese wrapper still attached to her burger, which they did not ask how she desired it cooked. I simply choked on my meal, though, to be fair, that may have put me out of my misery. The lack of quality and attention may have been acceptable if the place was slammed, but it was half-empty at 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon. Save yourself the hassle and buy a 6-pack of Sun King and roll through the Wendy's drive through. read more

As a person who works nearby. I come here frequently. The wings are great on Tuesday (2.99 off). The regular burger is great on Wednesday ($6). Other food is also great but I wanted to reference the specials first. Service has been above average. My wife and I just "found" this place last week when we were walking the Monon Trail with our kids and grandkids. Tonight we decided to check it out. We weren't disappointed. Their menu is pretty extensive. I was starving so we had a quick order of their version of garlic knots. They hit the spot. Then I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and she had the breaded pork tenderloin. Everything was great! Our server was excellent and we had a nice chat with the general manager. We can't wait to go back and try more things from their menu! read more

Wanted to like this place, but unfortunately we won't be going back. Hostess told us a 20 minute wait for a table. Okay, we give our name, get a pager and wait outside on a beautiful night. Not so bad. About 25 or more minutes waiting, I check back with hostess. I notice names after us are crossed off. She assured me that we will be the next table. We wait more. Then others get seated. I approach the hostess and she apologies and explains that the owner sat the other people. So the reviews talk about how wonderful the owners of this place are, but they fail to tell you that you have to know them to be treated right. Location is the key for getting 4 stars. This is located on the new midtown plaza in Carmel which has some cool outdoor games to play for free. If Sun King is too busy this would be a good alternative. The food and drink was merely good for the most part -- but the cauliflower cheese curds are the real star. read more

Our first time here. Had caprese salad and chicken fingers and fries. Both were great! Greg is GM. Very nice guy. He is new here. Molly was our waitress and did a super job. Food is decent. Music is a bad 80's mix. Set up for an older crowd. I am not sure I would go back with Sun King next door.

Good casual fare. Nothing to knock your socks off, but the location is primo and has a good sized bar.
