Coming from the south, I know nothing in Arizona could compare to southern BBQ. However, we stopped by Fork & Fire on a Saturday night craving some BBQ and it disappointed. The price point is pretty high for the lack of quality. I ordered baby back ribs. It wasn't sauced very well, there wasn't much meat and it was as tough as jerky. I had to saw the ribs apart with a knife. The beans tasted like Busch's beans. The hot bbq sauce wasn't very hot at all. The pros about our experience was the drinks. Maybe, since it seemed to have opened just recently, they haven't gotten it down to a science yet. Not sure if I'm willing to go back to try again with the price point. read more

Took my daughter here to give it a shot. Much better than the previous establishment. I had chopped brisket and daughter had a grilled pork sandwich which didn't sound good to me but it was excellent. Not your typical bbq joint! Everything we had was made fresh in house. We had the bacon wrapped jalapeños, brisket/sausage combo with au gratin potatoes (they were just ok) and baked beans, Dickman's Ugly chicken fried steak (Wow!) and green bean medley and 4 cheese smoked macaroni! Fork & fire came to our RV park for an event. The pulled pork was DELICIOUS as were the square tots. The smoked mac and cheese was tasty and cheesy and not to heavy handed with the smoke ( which I appreciated!) Seemed like everyone had a great time at the event and everyone raved about the food. James, the smokehouse manager helped us set up a group party at Fork & Fire. He was polite, organized and very professional. Our group had a "blast". The restaurant was clean, well staffed, and the food came out piping hot. If you like baby back ribs...you'll love Fork & Fire. The best ribs in all of Tucson. The service is fantastic, they are fast, portions are large and the food is OMG soooo good!!! We got the cheese curds, Mac and cheese, Cubano our first time here. Everything was great. Ok, not sure if this is for the Food Truck or restaurant in Oro Valley but my review is for the restaurant! We went last Friday about 7pm a small wait time. Everyone was pleasant. Food came out in a timely manner. At first we did get dry brisket, not to pleased but before we could even say a thing to our server the kitchen manager brought out new brisket! Currently the hours at the store in Oro Valley are 3-8 but once they are fully staffed I can see this please being a great BBQ spot for lunch and dinner! Could even see it having some great live music in the future. Will say probably the best brisket in Tucson we have found!! Also!!! The fries were real good!! Tasted very similar to an old food trucks fries! Made us wonder! read more

Terrible wait time for food (over an hour). Slow service. Iced tea with no ice. Dish was supposed to have gravy on top but they put cheese sauce with an actual macaroni noodle on top of chicken fried steak. Uncomfortable chairs for that long wait. Wow!   You all make some incredible food!!!!   Everyone at our party is still raving about how good it was!  I know I thoroughly enjoyed my loaded mac and cheese with chicken!   My husband enjoyed the pulled pork plate!! We enjoyed it so much that we ordered more to take home for lunch the next day. The street tacos were the best street tacos I have eaten in the 25 years I have lived in Tucson! The service was very good, the food wasn't. I ordered the brisket which the waitress had recommended as one of the house's specialties. The meat was over cooked and dry, and after trimming away the fat, there was only 3 to 4 ounces of meat, which I thought was awfully pricey for $26. Well I really wanted to find a good rib and BBQ Place. The waiters and service was great. But I ordered a 1/2 slab of ribs which as dry as jerky ,tried to revive them lots of sauce (which is very tasty) but they were still Jerky. Wife had a Cobb salad with pulled chicken which also needed some no lots of sauce to make it able to eat. Salad was good blue cheese dressing good. Beer cold and server was good. read more

I expected at least decent barbecue from this food truck but boy were my expectations blown away. I tried the chili Mac and three meat combo. Each meat was better than the last. Very nice experience. Chicken Fried Ugly Steak was great . It came with an excellent cornbread muffin and two sides. My wife had the Ugly Steak Salad and loved it. Fine beer selection. Did s flight of beers and finished with pint of the one I enjoyed the most. Bbq was very good. Tried a combination of meats and was very pleased. Cornbread was good. However with Fork & Fire I found something different!! As I think about it, I don't think I would even call this a "BBQ Truck!! I mean we are talking about some of the best midwestern chili I have ever had, this means chili dogs, chili cheese tots, or just a fully loaded bowl on these "chili"Tucson afternoons. This truck has a mix of everything, pulled pork, smoked sausage, and all kinds of chicken dishes including a very unique yet very delicious version of he boring old chicken salad sandwich. Here's the kicker...it's all homemade recipes (yea that's right!!) As good as the food is, so can not express enough how great the guys are who own and run this truck. About 25 of us had a neighborhood happy hour yesterday. For some, it was their first visit to the Fork & Fire. Based on the mood of the group, they enjoyed the afternoon. The service, food & drink was great. Serving a group this size has many challenges for the staff. They did an exceptional job in making the experience lots of fun.....at least for us 25! I was hoping for decent brisket given the introduction on their website about the 3 owners BBQ experience. I was really hoping because it is so nearby Literally 5 minutes. Major disappointment. Other members of my dinner party ordered ribs. The diners at the next table , when leaving stopped by our table and asked if we had the ribs. A discussion then.ensued about the dryness and general mediocrity of the ribs. The other diner ( not in.our party) said the tip off was how the ribs were covered with excessive sauce to cover the dryness. My test dish at any BBQ place is the brisket. (Full disclosure - I'm a long time member of the Kansas City Barbecue Society - if you know what that betokens). The brisket I had was (to start with) a poor grade of beef. It was excessively fatty - way beyond "moist" status acceptable. I could not discern a smoke rink and indeed there was almost no smoke aroma or flavor. The "bark" was wanting. The meat was hardly "fork tender" and indeed a I had to ask for a knife - none was present on the table. The manager , to his credit, volunteered that he had gotten comments from other diners this evening that the neat was very fatty and he would " talk with his kitchen manager" The manager offered to send me a few slices of lean brisket . I demurred. I'd had " enough." The sides were uninspired ; an acceptable salad , a tasteless coleslaw and a Texas Toast that was not Texas Toast ( which is supposed to be at least 3/4 to 1 inch thick , crispy , and toasted on both sides.) Fortunately I don't have to drive to Chandler any longer to get real quality brisket now that an outlet of R***'s has opened in South Tucson. My dinner companions agreed we all had a disappointing experience and will not be back. Live and learn. ( I wonder if years ago the food truck served decent BBQ.Sometimes scaling up to brick and mortar doesn't work." read more

Fork & Fire is the only food truck that returned my call, I called 6. They responded within 24 hours. FNF came from Tucson to Mesa to do an Employee Appreciation lunch for our staff. They served approx 40 people gave a 7 minute window from time of order and they were right on!! The food was delicious, service great and everyone enjoyed the menu and food. I had the street taco's and mac & cheese both outstanding. Everything that was coming away from the window looked awesome! I would highly recommend them for an event that you might have coming up. Highly recommend Fork and Fire! We were there Sunday Oct 2nd, had Ahi Tuna Tacos and Pork Tenderloin with french fries. The Tacos were so yummy, 3 of them, huge tenderloin with seasoned fries that were the best I've ever had.
