    TL;DR - affordable, would recommend, but wouldn't say highest quality or care I contacted 25 moving companies for a move from Mountain View to Palo Alto. Formosa Mover had competitive pricing and only required a two hour minimum vs the typical three hour minimum. I paid $110/hour for two people and $40 for the truck/gas. The entire move took 2.5 hours and cost $315 (110+110+55+40). I also tipped $40. All in, I spent $355, which was very affordable when considering some of the other highly rated companies. I had moved all small items myself (my entire closet, kitchen, artwork, etc) and only needed my large items relocated. I moved from a one bedroom, upstairs apartment to a two story house. I had my kitchen table and chairs, couch and end tables, patio furniture, bed, desk and chair, two mirrors, a bike, and a couple of crates to move. Big ticket items. Some of the things I did like: They showed up about 25 minutes later than planned due to traffic but were prompt to inform me. They were quick and efficient and didn't dilly dally between locations. For the most part (not always, but mostly), they used carpets/foot covers so they weren't stepping on my floor. They wrapped most of my items and used blankets to protect my couch. Some of the things I didn't love: I have an incredibly large white rug. It's pure white and was in perfect condition. To save time, only one person moved the rug, but because it's so large, it was dragged along the ground (photo included). While moving items upstairs, they knocked a framed photo and damaged the wooden frame. They also made minimal scuffs on various walls. I had to take apart my bedframe myself and put it back together, which is a service many of the other companies provide, but was not provided/offered. After they'd finished, I spoke with them and expressed my dissatisfaction with the damaged frame and the dirty rug. For the frame, they asked if I had a sharpie and then asked if I lived with family or rented, and said if the person had an issue with the damage, to contact the company. For the rug, they asked if I had anything available to clean it. Not sure if they intended to try to clean it then and there with my products. Regardless, neither of these solutions felt professional. I'm not sure if I would've been happier with a discounted service, because I'd still have a damaged frame and a dirty rug, but there wasn't even an apology. They did the work, they put in the time, and I'm glad to be moved. However, I'm fairly certain it would've been a much longer (and much more costly) move, had I not moved the bulk of items / smaller items myself.

    I had a lovely moving experience with Ben and his team! They assisted in packing my furniture and loading my ABF U-Pack Relocubes. They are very efficient, did a careful packing job and were reasonably priced. Ben was flexible when I found out that the HOA in my complex wouldn't allow parking of the relocubes and I had to have them load them at the service center. I highly recommend Formosa moving to anyone!

    Ben and Carlos were absolutely fantastic. Super responsive, communicative, and all around efficient movers! They went above and beyond to ensure everything was taken care of. This is the second time we've had the pleasure of working with them and look forward to working with them again in the future! I really appreciate Ben assembling the new bed frame and helping us mount a large mirror. Thanks Ben and Carlos!

    Friendly and professional movers and a clean truck

    Moving has always been a dreaded experience for me. Formosa Mover definitely saved the day with their excellent service and up front pricing. I would definitely hire them again if I should ever need a mover in the future.

    Definitely recommend Formosa mover! The quote was pretty accurate and affordable. The service was great - every stuff was packed carefully by them then moved/loaded/unloaded carefully. When unloading they even helped us to place stuffs properly in each room. During the whole process they used blankets/plastic wrap to protect furniture. What is more, they got everything done on time (4hrs) . Without doubt Formosa Mover is the best choice for moving home.

Their pricing is competitive and more affordable than all of the places I consulted for a mid-distance move. Lee and Yu arrived just as scheduled at 8:30am. They got right to moving, I was blown away by how quickly they mobilized because my old place has a small elevator and not the easiest to maneuver, especially considering I lived on the 3rd floor. Yes, there was expected traffic between destinations, but the unloading at the new destination was just as efficient despite a very long day of moving. The final cost was lower than I expected and there were no surprises from what I was quoted initially. Please tip these guys well - I tipped more than the recommended hourly tip rate. They work hard, carefully, and efficiently. I am recommending them 10/10 to my friends and to the Yelp community.

Then a 2 hour drive to our location. Unload, put together the beds and other furnitures and done. 11 hours total. Pricing was the best out of 7 that I looked at. Didn't break anything and always had a smile when they had time to look and breath a bit. I recommend these guys 100%!

What I encountered was end-to-end excellence, from customer service to their excellent moving team. I knew our move would be a large one, so I booked a 26' truck and five-person crew. As the day of the move approached, I had lots of last-minute worries and questions and Sam, in Customer Service, answered every one and generally calmed my nerves, assuring me my move team would assist if we needed last-minute help. On the day of the move, the team arrived right on time. The foreman, Guillermo, assessed our situation and calmly confirmed my suspicious that we'd need two trucks (this my error, not OnTrack's). Before I could panic, he had contacted his team and we arranged that ours be a two day move. Guillermo's team wrapped our furniture and had the truck loaded swiftly. At the new house, we had a few of our family help direct traffic. I'd labelled every box with a color-coded room label and the team got everything to the proper room. On day two, Sammy -- part of the original crew -- acted as lead and we repeated the process. Here, a number of items still needed a bit of packing and his team had everything done in record time and -- bless them - marked the boxes for the proper room destinations without prompting.     I searched around for movers and got several proposals for a local two stop move…read more They were mostly in the same range however Tony at Friends Moving quoted 3 movers instead of 2 for just a bit more and this sounded good to me. After experiencing their service with 3 movers I definitely recommend it and Friends Moving. He quoted me three hours min and they finished exactly at 3 hours, although I kept them for 30 min to help me build an IKEA bed. They arrived 15 min early and called me. The first stop was a storage unit where Tony and team helped get out a sofa, shelf and boxed we needed for the new place. They were quick, careful and efficient. I thought it would take an hour to move things around, get the stuff and pack other stuff back but we were in and out in 30 min! 3 movers is a plus. Second stop at my house to pick up my daughter's bedroom. Again very quick, careful wrapping and put into the truck. Finally the move into the new room/office. They covered the wood floor and stairs to protect it. They took good direction on where to put stuff, and got things unpicked quickly. The only hitch was a couch that was a challenge to get around the corner of the stairs and light. They ended up lifting it over a railing. They did slightly scuff the wall, which was no big deal as it just needed a little paint touch up I would do later (things happen during a move, if minor like this folks need to understanding, as it's not a big deal. Everything else was good and they finished right at 3 hours, but as I was building a queen sized IKEA bed I had them help me for 30 more minutes and so glad I did, we made quick work of it. The movers handled my belongings far more carelessly than I expected. They were rough with my mattress, which was frustrating to watch because you expect it to be handled with basic care, not dragged around and treated like it doesn't matter. On top of that, my dining table and chairs were damaged during the move, and the shelf on my Traeger was broken. Seeing multiple items damaged during one move was incredibly disappointing and upsetting. What has made the whole experience even worse is what happened afterward. I am still waiting on the insurance claim to be resolved, which has only added more frustration to an already bad situation. Instead of feeling like this was handled professionally and with urgency, the process has felt stressful and drawn out. I also dealt with Vanessa, the owner, and unfortunately, that did not improve the experience. I understand accidents can happen during a move, but when people are trusting you with their furniture and personal belongings, care and accountability matter. Based on my experience, I would not use Friends Moving Service again.
