I contacted Forrest Appliance Repair after our washer returned an error code that indicated an issue with the drain. Consequently, the door would not unlock. I have basic handyman skills and the Internet. After some research, I discovered that the design of our washer made it difficult to reach what was almost certainly the problem: a plugged filter. I would have to remove the front face. The problem now was that we have a stackable washer and dryer located in a tight space. In order to remove the front face of the washer, I would have to take down the dryer. This would require two people with some brawn. After determining the model and asking some preliminary questions regarding what was wrong with the washing machine, Forrest Appliance Repair quickly scheduled an appointment. When Brandon the tech showed up, he discovered what I already knew: the repair is a two person job. The Forrest Appliance Repair phone representative never asked if the machines were stacked and I forgot to mention that fact on the initial call. After a call to his office, Brandon informed me that we would need to reschedule--and that he would still have to charge me for the visit and that I would be charged again for the return visit. That did not seem quite right, but I couldn't deny that I should have informed the office that the washer and dryer were stacked. On the other hand, Forrest should have included that question in the preliminary assessment. I was preparing to argue that I should only pay half the original charge when a thought dawned on me: Why couldn't I be the second man on the job? Brandon was game and, with my help, the dryer was soon off to the side and the repair completed. I would use Forrest again and I would probably request Brandon who was both competent and professional. But I would also be sure to let the company know that our machines are stacked and I recommend that you do so as well if you have the same set up. read more

I had a great experience with this company. I had a dishwasher issue and a dryer seal that needed to be replaced. They came out and quickly let me know it was my electrical outlet and not my dishwasher so that was a quick fix for me and then they ordered the dryer seal and got it in as soon as it arrived. The technician even took some time to go over washer and dryer maintenance with me since he had the same units at home. Prices were fair and they were able to take CC payment right in my home. Paid $135 for a tech to come into my home for less than 3 minutes. Didn't try to "problem solve" or run any diagnostic test on my stove. Looked at it and said he already knew what was wrong before coming into my home. I did all the diagnostic for him. Then they turn around and take almost a week to get back to me for a quote to fix it, which is almost $650! Add to it, they said they could "give me a discount at their old rate" aka take off $20. If I would have done it, I would have ended up paying almost $800! Im buying a new stove instead. Really disappointed in my experience. read more

Forrest Appliance Repair - Happy dishwasher! - Electronics Repair Near Me - Grass Valley, California

They sent out a technician to replace a compressor on a wine fridge. He did not check to see that the parts were the same/compatible until AFTER he cut the lines and let the refrigerant (Freon) out into the air and did not trap it in anything to use or dispose of later. After all that happened, he then opened the box for the replacement part and said "uh oh" - it was the wrong part - incompatible with the fridge. Now not only do we not have a semi working fridge, we have something we are having to dispose of ourselves. When I called to ask for Forrest to replace the wine fridge so we have something, they left me on hold for over 10 minutes - obviously neglecting to replace it or provide any financial amount to cover any costs for us to do so ourselves. They wouldn't even come pick it up to dispose of it and now we are left with a non working wine fridge and the cost to dispose of it ourselves. It's like taking a car in to get the transmission replaced - taking the transmission out before checking to make sure everything is compatible/correct, and then saying "oops" it's the wrong part and those parts aren't made anymore for that model car, so - sorry , you're SOL and now you can't even drive your car that WAS working. I will never pay for a home warranty again nor will I refer Forrest for any repairs after this. And in response to Forrest's reply - Yes, things were escalated yet resolved - I don't have to get into details, but there were other contractors who were there that can vouch for what happened - and the repair person and I were on the same page with how things started, and how they ended and for that I am thankful and he deserves kudos for things as well. So for that, we are good. I won't even go into how I didn't mention or request repair for the floors that were scratched from the moving of the fridge in and out...but at this point I can only go back and forth for so long. Unfortunately, I have had a poor experience with Forrest. They sent a technician out to evaluate my refrigerator who admitted to not having his diagnostic equipment with him because he left it at the office or some such reason. Despite this, they send me a diagnosis requiring a new control board for my refrigerator. Due to the $600 repair estimate, I sourced an original OEM board on my own and installed it (super simple) myself which saved me over $400 and made the repair economically sensible. This did not fix things. So I called Forrest again to request they send a technician out who was actually prepared to fully and properly diagnose my refrigerator with all the needed diagnostic equipment. They refused on the basis that I had sourced and replaced the board myself. Part of me understands this but the other part of me is disappointed that they would not own their responsibility to provide a comprehensive diagnosis that I paid for yet did not receive during the first visit. Too bad. I'll be sure and let the company that referred me (Hills Flat Lumber) know that this happened this way. read more

I purchased a Speed Queen washer and dryer six years ago, being single I don't do a lot of laundry and during the summer I like to hang my clothes on the line outside. About five months ago my dryer quit working. Forrest Appliance repair is the only local repair shop who works on Speed Queen. The customer service representative was extremely helpful explaining the possible problem from what I heard when trying to start the dryer. She went over the cost breakdown along with the pros and cons of a repair. There was no pressure just things to consider. I normally don't leave reviews of this nature, but I am so appalled by the poor service that I believe it needs to be shared to warn others. I wish that I could even report the quality of their service, but I didn't make it that far. First off, there was such difficultly scheduling for a dryer repair at all. I tried to call to schedule initially, and didn't even get a call-back after several attempts. My landlord was finally able to make contact for me to schedule, though they never confirmed that the appointment was even happening with him - he had to call them the day of when I asked about it. I had to step out for an emergency and another tenant was going to be home shortly after. I called them as a courtesy. I received aggressive, unwarranted, and unprofessional service on the phone. I was berated on the phone by the supervisor, she interrupted me, called me by the wrong name, and she purposefully accused and accosted me for trying to make a courtesy call. She didn't even give me the option to reschedule and she hung up on me. I didn't swear or say anything to deserve such poor treatment. I'm disgusted. I hope that they can repair appliances well, but the customer service is extremely lacking. No one deserves to be abused on the phone like that over a simple phone call. read more

When I called the lady who answered the phone was rude, disrespectful ,when I mentioned I need an afternoon appt. since I work late nights. She replied thats the only time available, I said could you please find another day, she barked NO!! I couldn't believe my ears. So I responded I'll call back my home warranty and let them know you aren't flexible with others that work late nights, and need sleep, am appts would not work with my schedule!! My home warranty charges your card before they arrive, and the company got paid, until I went back and forth making complaints that this technician never came by. I have an iron gate without the Gate code no-one can get through. I never scheduled an appt. It took over 4 months and my home warranty finally reimbursed my card. This company is not very trust worthy, I would never use them again, nor should anyone trust their integrity, honesty, after what they tired to pull!! It took them weeks to finally come out and when they did the problem with my brand new just out of the box Samsung refrigerator was not fixed that same afternoon when I checked it. When I called back that day, they said it would take another 3 weeks before they could come out again. Then they called me and left a message saying that the problem with my brand new just out of the box refrigerator was that my floor is unlevel, even though he did not check to know whether or not it's level... so I did, and it's perfectly level. When out 40" Samsung TV suddenly would not link up to our Internet wifi modem to connect us to Netflix, Prime, Hulu etc, I called Forrest TV in Grass Valley. They were nice, sent a top technician who said we needed a new TV. Our set was 11yrs old. He said " the motherboard was no good & a new one was more than a new TV. Go buy a new TV. " What that good technician - FAILED TO SUGGEST was that I could hardwire my TV set to the modem and still receive the wifi U-verse high-speed at&t internet connection. The Forrest TV tech never brought inside the house, any tools other than his Samsung hand remote. He NEVER checked voltages, signal strength, connectivity or what ever else TV tech do these days to fix broken electronics. I went to the so called experts first. I worked 40yrs as a telco tech, so I hard-wired the TV myself from the modem. Their Top Rated best TV tech should give better advise & service by suggesting alternatives, Forrest TV DID NOT ! I would not consider their customer service as trained well. Customers deserve better. Go buy a new one IS NOT BETTER SERVICE when a simple alternative could work ! ! ! When I asked for a refund, I didn't even get a sorry we couldn't help you ~ ~ ~ I would have been very happy IF, & would have given a much better review. But the owner Did Not Even offer half a refund - - because their top tech NEVER suggested a way to make this set work by simply adding some wire & 2 connectors. I called around for service for my fridge. No one would come and look at it. It's a kenmore. So when I called Forrest tv and appliance they came out a week later and the guy didn't even go near it. He took one look at it and said it was a lemon go buy another fridge. And then he charged me 89 dollars. He didn't even touch it. The other places I called knew by the middle number I gave them they didn't want to work on it so why didn't this guy. He showed up got his money and left. He know he wasn't going to work on it. One more poor review for them. It's unfortunate Samsung uses this company for their warranty work. Here is the story: New dishwasher. 2nd shelf got stuck in the appliance. Samsung sent this company... took about 4 weeks to get an appointment. Tech responded who was nice, was able to get drawer un stuck but in the process several parts had to get destroyed (clips that hold the basket in). Parts were ordered with an approximate 2 week eta. Parts came in and an appointment was scheduled. Tech came on the wrong day, when we were out of town rather then the scheduled day. Pet sitter let tech in who allegedly fixed the problem and signed the invoice. Got back into town, checked repair, 3 of the 4 clips were missing. Called company and was told the job had been signed for, so there was nothing they could do and I would need to open a new ticket with Samsung rather then sending a tech back out and replacing 3 $25 clips that keep the basket from falling out. Asked to talk to a supervisor. Supervisor (sara I think was her name) was upset that I just wanted them to come back and complete the Unfinished work, so said to bad they were done trying to help me and weren't going to help me anymore. Sara indicated it was my problem now and not theirs.
