I have passed this fish establishment many times over the years and finally had the time to stop in. Cozy old world atmosphere and comes with an A board of health rating. Excellent corn chowder and Long Island clam chowder. Probably the best we ever had. The baked clams were awesome.... Very tasty and flavorful. Can't wait to return. Hidden gem. If you drive too fast you'll drive right by it. But I entered to quiet little spot, I was the only one there. The chef was very helpful with the selection process. It was nice and cozy. I ordered the fried grouper, it was a hefty amount of delicious fish and a soft bun with hot sauce, ketchup, and tartar sauce. It was well worth it. A little expensive but delicious. read more

1 star for super convenient location and easy parking. 2nd star for the Manhattan clam chowder is super salty but tasty and gluten free. The owner Manny is a grouchy dude who doesn't know how to interact with customers. First 2 times I stopped in, he was so grumpy I walked out. Courtney is his saving grace but even she couldn't pull up the rating to a 2 star. The only star is for her. She is super sweet. The fish market is hot like a sauna so how can fish be fresh?? Has Manny ever heard of AC??? Poe Courtney was roasting her ass off in there!! First time I purchased a piece of swordfish which was okay. 2nd time, it smelled like blue cheese when I got home. Grosssss!!! I called Courtney and she advised me to toss it and she would give me a credit for the soup and swordfish. HUGE disappointment for the Huntington hood!! Horrible just straight up horrible. If I could leave a zero I would. We were at Huntington Hospital celebrating the arrival of our new baby girl. We wanted something good to eat, seafood sounded great. Placed our order, picked it up and when we began eating we were so disappointed. Lobster salad was horrible more lettuce then lobster, flavorless and felt a little raw. Seafood salad was watery and a lot of lettuce. Lobster bisque..... tasted like the worse tomato soup with seafood thrown in. $70 waisted!!! My brother fishes and we thought this would be great celebrating his baby girls arrival but no! Hubby and I went here for lunch today and as he's not a fish man, I was on my own. I asked the young lady behind the counter (who was friendly and helpful) for her recommendation and took it - the grouper sandwich and a pint of the LI clam chowder (mix if NE and manhattan). The chowder was forgettable. I spent more time searching for clams then you ever should eating CLAM chowder. Frankly, didn't like the flavor either. The grouper sandwich, however, was really tasty and simple - friend grouper on a hero roll. Huge piece of fish and free fries (also soggy and forgettable). Fresh tarter sauce would've really made a difference as no one should eat tarter sauce from a packet and it's simple and cheap to make. I ate half the sandwich 1/4 of the soup and a few fries and I'm full. All together it came to about $17 and could've fed two. I would go back and maybe try their fried oysters or soft shell crabs. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I've been there a few times hoping things would improve, but to no avail. The home made soups are almost flavorless. New England clam chowder had almost no clams and they seemed minced. Lobster bisque was 90 percent cream with almost no lobster. Crab cakes literally tiny flakes of crab with little crab flavor. Well this is not for a recent visit but, my sole visit to this shop. I went here about 5 years ago when I had moved down the block from them in Halsite, I had wanted just some simple fresh fish or something prepared for dinner. When I walked in the place seemed like it was dark and needed a cleaning, when I approached the counter the fish was oddly not fresh looking and what turned me off was the salmon had a grey-ish like hue to it. Now I know what farm raised, king, wild, atlantic, etc. all have different colors and farm raised being the most bright, this was stale looking. It turned my stomach and I have not been back since, I left empty handed. I gave it two stars for now only because they maybe better, but hopefully not the same. read more

I remembered seeing this place over the winter and thinking it would be a must go to spot for a lovely lobster roll on a hot summer day. Well that day came and unfortunately I was disappointed (as was my boyfriend) with the lobster roll. This roll was all roll (the size of a hero sandwich roll) and about three or four small pieces of lobster. It came with a side of fries to help justify the $17 cost but unfortunately those didn't cut it either. I would try their other fish to cook with at home as it looked fresh and the place looked clean. read more

Don't be put off by the appearance, the food is super fresh and always tasty. The staff is really helpful so if you're not sure what to get or how to prepare it, just ask. They usually have local fish and oysters which is a bonus. The mussels are super clean and always tasty. I've gotten a lot of fish here and have never been disappointed. read more

I pass this shop regularly and always spot the sign advertising their Lobster Rolls. I finally had the chance to try one. I really wanted to like this lunch that I had, especially at the near $20 price tag, but I must say, Never Again! The lobster was tasteless and shoe-leather-tough. Definitely not a do-over! My husband and I passed this place many times and decided to stop in for soup. I got Lobster Bisque and my husband got New England Clam chowder. Prior to purchasing my husband asked if there was lobster in the bisque and the girl said yes there are pieces of lobster. So we paid $14 for two small soups and instantly had buyers remorse even before trying them!!! But figuring we would give it a fair shot tried them and they were both terrible!!! It was like two cups of milk!! Neither soup has anything other than fluid in them! No clams, lobster, potato nothing!! Save your time and money go somewhere else!! Been numerous times over the past few years and haven't had a bad experience yet. Typically friendly, fast paced staff who are very helpful. While the lobster roll isn't filled with meat(can get a whole 1-1/4 lobster for a couple dollars more here), other things are my fave to have. A little on the pricey side for some items but for the quality of the fish? Always worth it. You get what you pay for. Favorites are the LI clam chowder, crabcakes and baked clams when I just need something quick to grab for an app.. and of course the grouper and salmon. Plan on being a customer for a long time. read more
