A good basic cheese slice, well balanced ratio of sauce, cheese and crust. Sometime getting the basics right makes everything right, and the whole is greater than the sum. If there's a better cheese slice in Baltimore, I wanna know where, because this one is very good.

Meatball parm sub with gravy fries....something is completely off with this place...I'm so pissed off at the gravy fries I need to start with this. I'm 36 years old...never and I mean never have I everrr had a gravy so under seasoned and bland in my life. .2/10, not 2/10...no no no...(.2/10) worst shit I've ever had. Not only the gravy but someone needs to seriously advise these cooks on how to make French fries. What the fuck, who fucks up fries? Well u guys managed... Meatball parm sub...get this everywhere I go...highly doubt meatballs are made fresh in house if so, they are small and weak...just like this restaurant. The sauce on this sub was the most least appetizing part. This is what's leaving me like wtf. Maybe too much sauce to meatball ratio? But the sauce was garbage, a good tomato sauce I would easily talk up. I'm thinking too much sauce, too little meatballs, cheese level ok, bread level ok. I just wanna wrap this review up cos it's not worth anyone's time. Don't come here, highly dissapointed! Meatball sub: 5.8 Fries and gravy: .2

Tried out this pizza place close to my house for the first time today, ordered a pick up order for my house and when I got home found at the main item (a Sicilian pizza)Which I've been stacked at the bottom of my order had half of the cheese fused to the cardboard box. I called the business asking them to send out a new pizza since I'm only a mile down the road and was told by both of the employees initially it was my fault and after five minutes on the phone was able to get a refund... Will not be ordering again.

***DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS DISHONEST BUSINESS THAT ENGAGES IN SHADY PRACTICES*** Order up sent an email and a mailed advertisement advertising their special of a 8" Cheese Steak, Fries & 32oz Drink for $8.99. After reviewing the offer on Order Up, I realized all the toppings for the cheesesteak were an extra $.79 a piece (i.e lettuce, tomato, mayo, onions, hots, etc.). I knew it had to be a mistake as those are standard options included on EVERY BASIC CHEESESTEAK SUB, so I called Fortunato Brothers to inquire about the special and to see what toppings were offered STANDARD on the sub. I was told it included lettuce, tomato, mayo, onions, cheese and hots. He asked if I wanted to order and I said I would place the order with Order Up and he immediately hung up on me. This should have been the FIRST red flag. The delivery guy was super nice and delivered my items. The fries were standard and lacking basic salt so I seasoned it, ate a few and moved onto the cheesesteak... As pictured, it was bread and steak only. I took a bite thinking the cheese has to be somewhere as this sub is dry , lacking flavor and something else. It wasn't until my husband asked me what I was eating that i realized the lettuce, tomato, mayo, and onions (no hots via preference) was missing as well. I immediately called Fortunato Brothers where I explained the situation and was passed off to the assistant manager. He told me that with Order up you must pay for toppings outside of cheese and bread. I paid for extra cheese (American) and extra meat ($2.99) and was told that they place the cheese in between the bread (i didn't see it via the picture included) and it came with extra meat. I told the assistant manager the sub was also missing the lettuce, tomato, mayo, and onions that the phone rep told me was included standard on the sub. The assistant manager kept telling me with Order Up I'd have to pay extra in order to receive those items despite the representative telling me otherwise BEFORE I placed the order. I asked the manager if what he was basically telling me was that i wasted my money and he kept reverting back to having to pay extra for the toppings I wanted via Order Up. A simple refund, new order or discount on a future order would have sufficed but the customer service here is lacking tremendously. First and last time I will ever patronize this business and I recommend that you avoid this place at all costs.

Fortunato Brother's chopped tomato pizza is the best meatless pizza in Baltimore When I was in the mood for pizza, I used to be drawn to the pies with names like "meat lovers", "carnivore", and the most meat-laden to the point of revolting, the "artery-clogger." I was under the mistaken impression that the higher the pile of spiced meat, the higher the quality of the pizza. I have never been so happy to be so wrong. Once again, thanks to my wonderful fiancée, my pedestrian palate has become further refined. Fortunato Brothers Pizza in Towson has long been my fiancée's favorite, and I was promptly introduced to it when I moved to Charm City. Of course, she wanted the chopped tomato, but the fuzzy-unibrow-on-a-sloped-forehead-havin', knuckle-draggin', club wavin' caveman inside me howled "MEAT GOOD!" and piled all sorts of meat on my half of the pizza. This happened for several visits to Fortunato Brothers when my inner Neanderthal evolved to an inner Cro-Magnon and agreed to try the sacrilegious meat-free pizza. I reluctantly allowed myself to inhale the aroma and I grudgingly admitted the fragrant basil and garlic were enticing. At the first bite, my inner Cro-Magnon evolved into an Ivory Tower Elitist. I don't like soft and squishy tomatoes and I usually avoid them with any hot food, but these were perfect. They remained firm and kept the fresh-from-the-garden flavor. The basil was fragrant and strong; the perfect matching for the tomato. The garlic was present but didn't overpower the two other toppings. Finally, it is sauce-less so the main ingredients keep the center stage in the never ending comedy of my mouth. So I came away with two learning experiences: 1. Always be willing to try a new food no matter how loudly your inner Neanderthal protests. 2. One chopped tomato pizza was responsible for 30,000 years of human evolution.

This pizza was horrible! It was over an hour wait for 2 pizzas and chicken fingers. When the pizza finally arrived it was mangled, flipped over and crushed in the boxes. I called and spoke to the manager he said it would be ANOTHER HOUR to get fresh pizza delivered and he would have to take the destroyed ones back. I have company and a 5 yr old who are starving as ot is now after 7pm. Wr asked for a credit for next time and was rudely told they dont do that. I will NEVER order from this place again. Rude managers and horrible guest interaction.

The food is great, especially the Pizza. The chopped tomato pizza is a must have. I haven't had a better Chopped Tomato pizza elsewhere. Cheesesteaks are okay and the prices are pretty reasonable. The only complaint is that they don't accept credit cards or debt cards, so you better plan to pay with cash. The only complaint was that they don't accept credit/debt cards for purchase. So bring cash

Closest I got to NY pizza while I was at school in MD (the regular slices at least...the others are a bit more creative and I don't eat anything but regular or sicilian in NY so I wouldn't know)....they have a lot of different options....and it's family run......they don't deliver but it's worth the ride read more

Fortunato's makes one of the best pies in the Baltimore area, probably the best. It's tucked away in a shopping center in Towson, just north of the city line on York Rd. Great spot for lunch, huge slices and great flavors and ingredients. This is exactly what a pizza parlor should be. Used to eat here as a Loyola student and I go back whenever I wind up in Ravens town. They make an amazing margherita pizza with fresh basil and the mozzarella. Expert pizza makers and affordable prices. Please open a location in Pittsburgh. Great Hawaiian pizza too. Also, a large cheese pizza for eleven bucks is a great deal for the quality of their flavor. Well's Liquors is right there as well. They have a great selection of wine so make a takeout date night with a pie or two and a bottle or two. read more

The slices are HUGE!. My favs... pep & sausage and BBQ chix. Crust is great (thin with a crunch underside but a nice soft bed on top). The pepperoni roll is nice too! Past that, the SUBS are great - quality ingredients make the difference, and I have enjoyed the salads as well (always fresh). THEY DO NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS OR DEBIT! Technically Wheelchair accessible but it is a tight squeeze inside. Large groups (5+) may feel pinched or have to sit in smaller groupings. read more

Fortunato's is my go to pizza place in Towson. The prices are unbeatable, and the food is always great. They accept credit cards now which is great, and ever since somebody drove their car into the front glass they've been fixing the place up. I guess the wanted a slice and an oil change. read more

Great place to stop in and grab a slice of pizza. I love the buffalo and chicken parm myself. Not the best place for plain cheese pizza--opt for one of there more exciting options. Chicken cheesesteaks are my go to sandwich here. read more

Fortunato's is great! Good pizza places in Baltimore are few and far between, so finding this place was a relief...thanks, Yelp! The pies are NYC style...thin, with a crispy crust. The crust is somewhat meh; it's floury and somewhat starchy, but the texture is right and it holds up well. Toppings are very good. The chopped tomato pizza, as other reviewers have said, is excellent. It's basically like a Margherita, except with diced instead of sliced tomatoes. They use a copious amount of olive oil and basil, which is okay with me. The BBQ chicken pizza is delicious; the buffalo chicken pizza is as well, however, be forewarned that they cook the pizza with blue cheese chunks underneath the mozzarella. This can come as a surprise to those who are used to getting their blue cheese on the side with a buffalo pizza. The best part about this place is that it's perfect for lunches; they offer almost all of their pizzas by the slice, Sbarro-style. I worked in this plaza for a while and can assure you that this place is always pretty busy, so they blow through those pizzas fast. They are always (reasonably) fresh. It's also owned by an actual Italian family. Big plus. read more

The one pizza I miss from them is the one with the diced, raw tomatoes scattered on top. It tastes kinda refreshing and light, compared to regular pizza. Then they have all the standard pizzas too. The crust is medium thick, with hearty bread edges. This is a family run operation (and you can really tell just by looking at the faces of the people that work there!) Go there and enjoy it! read more

The crust on these pizzas is pretty bland but does have a nice consistency. While there are a few seats inside I would not want to hang out and eat there due to the noise level and limited plastic tables to sit at. The people around me were all picking up orders as well so that seems to be the norm. The pizza wasn't overly greasy and was overall decent (definitely better than pizza hut/papa johns..), just not amazing, special, or different in any way. read more

Fortunato Brothers is an excellent take-away pizza restaurant, the best in Baltimore. You can also eat there, but the cramped tables and campy decor (i.e. Forza Italia 2006, hometown hero Mark Phelps making a pie) make this a strictly non-date night option. They do lots of different kinds of slices (all day!) as well as pies. The staff is great-- polite and efficient. My favorite items there are the Pepperoni Rolls (like a baby Calzone), and the Margherita pizza (fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil-yum!). They also have a crazy Sicilian pie with baked ziti on top if you want to free-base some carbs. The only negative: the salads are iceberg lettuce based (my husband loves this, but I'm decidedly not a fan). But let's face it, when I go to FB's, I'm not really going for a salad, am I? read more

Stellar service and kind too! I am not from Baltimore Maryland but my expecting sister is and for the sake of easiness for the server I just said I was ordering for my mother. What to do when you're a broke college student with less than a hundred dollars in her card and that money given by her mother? You screw the flowers. You look for the nearest cookie deliveries like cookie rush and insomnia cookies. But none of that is in the delivery range of Towson. Call it a Twitter inspiration but a pepperoni pizza with happy Mother's Day written on the cover of the box is this generation of in debt college students' version of a bouquet of flowers. It's not fancy and the plus side is you can eat it! These men patiently waited for my cousin who was supposed to eat out at a restaurant to go back and get her pizza. Saved her mans the date $$$ and they all got to have some yummy pizza. The name gives it away. Authentic Italian. read more

It is hard to find a good restaurant-style pizza in Towson, (especially when you're from New York) but Fortunato Brothers is one of the best! My favorite pizza place in Towson does not deliver, so when looking for alternative, I found Fortunato Brothers to be the best. They have a wide selection of food, unique pizza toppings, and free delivery. They have a great New York style crust. read more

Always a great place to have pizza and/or a sub. I recommend the Grilled Chicken Sub, they use a whole chicken breast and make it the way you like it. Side Note the large sub is big enough to share unless you are really hungry then go for it and do the whole thing. read more

How difficult is it to make a hamburger when you are in the pizza/sub business? Stale role that was microwaved and rubbery on a burger a tad thicker than a fast food burger. Ordered with lettuce tomato and onion. The lettuce was on top of the burger and the tomato and onion were on the bottom! If you know anything at all, condiments are placed on top of the burger or else you won't taste them! When I picked up the burger it fell apart! Slop! Threw it away! I called up asking for the manager but of course there's no manager. I explained how terrible the burger was and instead of being professional he said we've been making burgers like this for years! So I guess they're proud of this product! I asked when the owner or manager would be in. He said they never come in! I asked who he was and he said the manager. I wish I could have rated (0) stars but one is the lowest. Welcome to 2015! Cheap, inexperienced foreign labor, selling substandard products with an attitude. read more

The service was prompt, and the food was tasty. I ordered a large pizza, and it exceeded my expectations. I'm from NY and have been looking for NY style pizza...well I finally found it. I definitely recommend the pizza to others. The crust was perfect, the right amount of sauce and cheese. I will be returning the next time I'm in the mood for great pizza. This gets three stars because I ordered something not so good, and then something excellent. I ordered the lasagna and the gourmet Sicilian pizza. I noticed that the lasagna was highlighted on the menu, much like the raved about chopped tomato pizza, so I assumed that it was one of their specialties. Boy, was I wrong. It was 90% canned tomato sauce, 7% pasta shell, and 3% strings of pizza cheese. I was literally eating tomato sauce, so I ended up using it to dip my pizza crusts. The Sicilian pizza was absolutely heavenly though; thick, hearty, and infused with flavor. I usually have to decide between this and the thin Neapolitan pizzas whenever I order from Fortunato Brothers. Basically, their pizza is delicious, but I will never order pastas, subs, sandwiches, etc. from a pizza place. Or at least I never will from this joint. read more

Imagine ordering a pizza and being told it will arrive in thirty minutes. Then you're called by the driver (who can barely speak English) and asked for directions. He then says, "OK, I got it." Thirty additional minutes pass- no call, no pizza. So you call. "Just wanted to see if you're making your way ok". Answer: "be there any minute". Five minutes pass. Phone rings again. Can't find address and can't make out what he is saying. So you say forget it-- I'll just come and pick it up. Now imagine going to pick it up and they're annoyed with YOU!!!!! Truly astonishing. Absolutely horrific customer service!!!!!!!!!! Will NEVER patronize this place again read more

OMG, I don't even know how to describe the slop the Fortunato Bros served me the other night. I ordered the "Homemade Lasagna" and they charged me $10.99 for what was probably one of the top 3 worst meals I've ever been served. I would describe it as a limp noodle in tomato sauce with some cheese on top. Unless you're into disappointment, don't go here, i know it the last time I will! read more

Driving down York Road one day I decided let me finally make a pit stop into Baltoz. An open space counter to see some of the magic in the kitchen, no frills to the restaurant, but a warm and inviting atmosphere for hanging out and enjoying a delicious pizza for dinner. All of the baked goods displayed on the counter entice you to indulge in a sweet treat before ordering a pizza. My first visit I just settled on some cookies and a jalapeno cheddar bagel, since I was on my way elsewhere for dinner. But let me tell you how the chocolate chip cookie instantly became one of my favorite bakery cookies. And the bagel was decadent for my morning breakfast, covered in cheddar cheese with those crispy edges that bake at the base of the bagel. On my second visit I settled on their corn pizza since it was a different flavor combination, and it tasted like a slice of summer. Corn, basil, and ricotta, and you can't go wrong. And the staff has always been really pleasant with each visit. I'm a sucker for baked goods and a wood-fire pizza and I can say Baltoz has stolen my heart. I'm looking forward to trying more of their rotational baked items. And I know for certain their pepperoni pizza has to be a showstopper.

Awesome food please do give it a try. I was wondering around in a familiar area decided to try something other than the chains like chipotle and panera bread that are close by and and I am so glsd I tried Fortunato Brothers. Their menu is great and includes many different meats, fish, shrimp and salads. I was very happy with my purchases and I will definitely return.
