    Chicken Egg Drop Soup
    Adrienne S.

I've been to Fortune Cookie Restaurant plenty of times, and it never disappoints. I stopped in for lunch special and ordered takeout--got the sesame chicken and egg drop soup to go, and it was incredible. Hands down, the best Chinese food I've ever had. The sesame chicken was perfectly crispy with just the right amount of sweetness, and the egg drop soup was rich& flavorful. The staff is always friendly, the service is quick, and the food is consistently top-notch. If you're craving Chinese, this is the spot.

So the joint itself is good, it's really clean. You come in and it has the decor that you would expect, I really large aquarium, it's really nice on the eyes. Before you get to that point you have to really acknowledge the parking there, because it's an open lot, and it is free parking, But depending on what time you go it's not that great. It's located in a strip mall kind of situation so you have parking for everybody in one spot. This is not a ding against the restaurant itself because it's not their fault by any means, but at the same time just be aware that parking could be kind of tight if there is a full parking lot. Soon as you come in at the front door that somebody to greet you, you're greeted immediately and you don't have to wait so I thought that the customer service there was good because you want somebody to see you as soon as you walk in the door. I got in and got immediately seated. My waitress was very friendly and got me some water right away and gave me time to look at the menu. I tried to get a few things so I can try and review a few things so I ended up getting the Pot stickers (w meat), Chicken wings, General tso chicken (comes with soup and rice). The potstickers were pan fried and they were actually pretty good. They came with a ginger soy sauce I think, but it was good and it came with eight of them that were very big. I would definitely order those again. They were thick and they had a lot of filling in them. The chicken wings, were large breaded fried chicken wings. The chicken wings didn't really have any flavor to them. They were fried really well but they weren't seasoned for me. So I would probably not get those again. The general tso Chicken came with an egg roll and you could get it with fried rice or steamed rice. I chose fried rice. The generals chicken was really good. It was fried to damn near perfection and very flavorful! I would hands down get this again! Overall this spot was a hit for me and I would go back to try other things that they have on their menu. I know that the chicken that they have in sauce is good because the chicken that I ordered was solid, so I would maybe try the sesame or the orange chicken next. But everything aligned pretty well for me overall so I don't really have too many complaints and this is definitely a win for me.

Uhhh, no. Customer service is not friendly... very abrupt and bothered. The food sizes and the prices! I paid $11.83 for a lb of food. The rice is just brown rice and its hard, not enough water or heated too long. The low mein is ok, but there were about 17 noodles. The spring roll had a piece of cabbage in it and was smaller than the soy sauce packet. I know we are entering a food crisis and recession ... but come on ... this was a rip off. Just widen your search to piedmont or Buford highway... skip Fortune Cookie, at least for lunch.

I came here for a work lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I've always passed this place during my lunch break and finally came with a group from work. We were promptly seated, and our food came out hot and quickly, fast enough to sit and eat within the hour. I ordered the Shrimp with Chinese Vegetables which came with my choice of Steamed or Fried Rice, Vegetables fried Spring Roll and choice of soup. The food was fresh, hot and flavorful and the price was reasonable. Everything came up to about $12. There was a big enough portion to take some food to go. I would definitely go back to dine in or order takeout.

The customer service was good. They had me laughing the whole time! I always order the shrimp fried rice and chicken wings. The chicken wings are sold separately (they are under the appetizer) so you will get like 6 pieces. The food is good. I dine in and the table I was sitting at was a little sticky and there was gnats flying around my wine. Which was highly annoying. Food came out fast.

I've been coming here for a couple of decades and the food is always great. Service is quick, food comes out fast. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable about menu options. Plenty of parking, yes it's free. Clean environment. This is one of favorite places to eat, forever.

    Fortune Cookie Shrimp Fried Rice
    Diana W.

Fortune Cookie used to be my go to restaurant whenever I wanted shrimp fried rice. I have not ordered food from this restaurant since the Covid pandemic, so I decided to order lunch today. I didn't see the lunch menu but decided to order food anyway, despite the increase in prices. The food arrived securely packaged and it looked delicious; however, I was disappointed because no utensils were provided. The SFR was good but not great, seemed like an ingredient was changed or missing. With that being said, I will give it another try in the future.

We were a party of 5 and found both the food and the service to be inconsistent. The Food: Most dishes were mediocre or worse. The Three Cups Chicken (1/5) was the worst I've ever had. The Hong Kong Style Shrimp (1/5) was just bland, tasteless fried shrimp. The Lamb with Scallion (2/5) was far too salty. The only "average" dish was the Spicy Beef and Tendon (3/5), but one decent dish can't save a meal this poor. The Service & Billing: The service was quite slow during our visit. We waited a long time for the check and eventually ended up packing our own leftovers and heading to the front counter to pay so we could head out. I was also surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, especially since it was calculated on the total after tax ($23.07 tip on a $106.80 subtotal). While I understand automatic tips for groups, it felt a bit high due to poor services. There are a lot of great dining spots in the area, but based on this disappointing visit, I'm sure I would not return to this one.

On to the main entree was the House Lo Mein. It was just average and not the greatest I've tried. It took a minute before our server came back. To me it needed more flavor, seasoning and it didn't have any spice what's so ever! I wouldn't get it again. The thing I found annoying/unprofessional was the staff taking forever to give me and my friend out checks. We came into the establishment an hour before they closed. At that time a lot of people were still in the place. However, by the time we received our checks we were the last people in their establishment. The other individuals were the workers cleaning up. We tried to get a server to come to our table sooner but wasn't successful. This is my sole opinion but I wasn't over impressed over food.

Cucumber salad had a nice balanced heat and was a heaping amount. Slightly too much oil in the marinade weighed it down. Pork dumplings were boiled so there was not a fried option. A huge portion and even taste. The dipping sauce was too spicy for our party so we switched to soy sauce instead. Would recommend the edamame because they give you a large portion making this worth it. Beef noodle soup with extra beef (accidentally ordered by our party). Large chunks of beef that wasn't dried out and well seasoned. The star was the flat noodles which had a wholesome taste and good amount of chewiness that hits the palate well. The sour and hot lamb dumpling soup was just okay. Again, big portion but seasoning was a little lacking. Had a good portion of glass noodles and bean sprouts. The sauce again was a little too much on the oily side so I don't think I'd order this again. The customer service was also not very personable. I didn't like the ordering on their screen. It made it a little confusing adding items and turned into us ordering more than we wanted, each time with a surcharge. Tipping is optional. I guess I was just hoping this place would live by the hype but it just fell a little flat. Maybe would try the dry flat noodle option necktie time.

The whole setup is like a mini food hall with several authentic Chinese spots to choose from--but Chong Qing is where I landed. Everything came out on real dishes--not to-go boxes--which I loved. You order and pay at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Now let's talk about the food... DELICIOUS. The spice level was just right--flavorful with a nice kick, but not overpowering. If you like it hotter, you can definitely add more heat, but I was perfectly satisfied as is. The lo mein was really good too--veggies were fresh with a nice crisp (those onions and carrots were hitting!), and everything tasted well-balanced.
