    Peking duck $70

Until our Peking duck restaurant finishes remodeling, we have been trying different restaurants that offer Peking duck. This one's pretty good! The owner also does some of the cooking and was making my bubble tea while we waited for the rest of the dishes to be finished so we can take them to go. We ordered the Peking duck $70. sautéed baby bok choy which, $18 crispy calamari with peppers $29 and fluffy buns with pork two of them for $12.

Grand China is a longstanding Chinese restaurant in Atlanta that has been around the 1970s! The design of the restaurant, specifically on the exterior, reminds me a little bit of a castle or gothic home. There is parking in the back of the restaurant and there is indoor and outdoor seating. The service was good, very friendly! We got the Salt & Pepper Fried Tofu and Prince Chicken, which were recommended by the older lady serving us. I believe she may also be the owner? The Salt & Pepper Fried Tofu was alright, it had some five spice seasoning on it and seemed to be lightly fried based on the lighter color of the exterior of the tofu. Prince Chicken kind of tasted like kung pao chicken? I thought it was okay, but I also want to emphasize that Chinese cuisine is not my favorite so that is part of why my review is the way that it is. Overall, this place has a lot of options for people! There were even Thai and Japanese food options as well. You will probably find some dish that you like.

The Chang sisters run this place with warmth and grace that you simply cannot fake, and the food-fresh, scratch-made and some of the best Chinese in Atlanta! The bar is a hidden gem. Ask for Chict. She's bartended for Dr. Martin Luther King, Stevie Wonder, and Danny Glover, and her cocktails are absolutely elite. A living piece of Atlanta history, shaking drinks right in front of you.Highly recommend!

    Orange chicken - bad

This was our annual Christmas Eve dinner place for the past three years, but sadly no more. Reservation: they took my reservation over the phone a week earlier, upon arrival they said they no longer take/handle reservations. What?! Thanks for not letting us know. So we waited 10 minutes, no big deal. Then we got to the drink and meal portion which was one of the worst restaurant experiences we've had in recent memory. Service- 2 out 5 - we sat at 5:40pm. Waiter came to our table at 5:50pm. Ordered drinks, which took another 15 minutes. We then ordered entrees, which arrived at 7:20pm. When it takes an hour to get out three basic chinese food entrees there's a big issue. Food- 1.5 out of 5. egg rolls were great. Entrees were awful. Pad Thai was spaghetti with 3 pieces of chicken. Orange chicken was fried chicken bits dripped in orange sauce. It was so bad we just got the check and the food wasn't worth taking it to go. This is the type of Chinese food you don't want to go out for. Again, they were great a year ago. We overheard two tables giving the same feedback To the manager. I hate giving bad reviews but I gave my exact review to their manager before we left and she just said we have three chefs in duty and get so many door dash orders and offered no good reasoning. Bad! I won't be coming here again as there are too many places we can go to and get better food and service.

The owner is as classy and authentic as she dresses. First class all the way!

The food was full of deliciousness!!! Each dish that came out of the kitchen was more grand than the last. Not only visually appealing but taste buds confirm the eyes are correct. The owners are so incredible welcoming and dress in the most authentic class to match the elegance of the restaurant decor. You automatically want to stand up straight with much respect for the sharing of culture through amazing dishes from the many Asian regions. For sure a must stop when in Atlanta. Take a group and everyone order something different so you get to truly taste all the awesome goodness of the cuisine!

So this is a stand-alone Asian restaurant that has Chinese and Thai food so you can kind of get the best of both worlds. It has its own parking lot and the parking is free. So keep that in mind. It's right across the street from a shopping strip mall center so there's a lot of stuff in the area. If you come in, the parking has less than a handful in the front but predominantly the parking is going to be in the back. And Apple space in the back so you should have any problem parking right by the building or in the area behind that. I came in and was greedy, I came during lunch time so there was really nobody there at the top of lunch. But, the people who are hosting were really really cool. We had a good time talking for a little bit on the way to the table, just really good conversation and I appreciate it that. It's really good customer service. There is a lot more space than you would anticipate, because there's also outside as well as inside. But the outside is enclosed in glass but it's kind of a patio situation so keep that in mind. Thai fried rice (chicken) - the fried rice was good. Came out fresh and hot and I added a little bit of soy sauce for a dab of flavor to it. But overall it was pretty Good. Egg drop soup - the soup was good. Came with well fried wontons. Pretty standard. Nothing out of the box but it was good overall. Pepper fried calamari - So the calamari was okay but I probably will not get it again. The salt content was through the roof, I felt like I was going to get hypertension from it LOL. It was tasty for a few but after that, I really couldn't keep it up. Chicken egg roll - This was the original egg roll that I ordered, it was pretty tasty. The crust was crispy, the inside was hot and tender. Vegetable egg roll - really good egg roll. Even though I didn't ask for it. They actually brought me the wrong one and they ended up letting me keep it obviously, and it was good. I would definitely go back here. The food was pretty good. Free parking. And the people who were sitting me were actually super cool as well. Because we got the talk, it really LED helped along with their customer service! I appreciated that.

My wife's shrimp was buried under so much breading that she had to dissect them to get to the shrimp. My food was disgusting and raw vegetables. The owner literally went to the table next to us and begged for a five star review on yelp. Service was pretty bad. We expressed that there was too much breading and she didn't care too much. Try somewhere else.

Ms. Chang is amazing! Her service is great and she made us the best smoothies!! Will definitely keep coming back!

The food was delicious. The service was fast and friendly staff! First time coming and I will be back. It's been in Atlanta for many years and a must visit. The owner is the bartender too! She's amazing! The place has so much character which adds to the charm.

We were a party of 5 and found both the food and the service to be inconsistent. The Food: Most dishes were mediocre or worse. The Three Cups Chicken (1/5) was the worst I've ever had. The Hong Kong Style Shrimp (1/5) was just bland, tasteless fried shrimp. The Lamb with Scallion (2/5) was far too salty. The only "average" dish was the Spicy Beef and Tendon (3/5), but one decent dish can't save a meal this poor. The Service & Billing: The service was quite slow during our visit. We waited a long time for the check and eventually ended up packing our own leftovers and heading to the front counter to pay so we could head out. I was also surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, especially since it was calculated on the total after tax ($23.07 tip on a $106.80 subtotal). While I understand automatic tips for groups, it felt a bit high due to poor services. There are a lot of great dining spots in the area, but based on this disappointing visit, I'm sure I would not return to this one.

Drinks: I got the strawberry lemon drop drink. It was good and did come with the vodka flavor with natural strawberry syrup. It was good. The vegetable dumpling was good! On to the main entree was the House Lo Mein. It was just average and not the greatest I've tried. It took a minute before our server came back. To me it needed more flavor, seasoning and it didn't have any spice what's so ever! I wouldn't get it again. The thing I found annoying/unprofessional was the staff taking forever to give me and my friend out checks. We came into the establishment an hour before they closed. At that time a lot of people were still in the place. However, by the time we received our checks we were the last people in their establishment. The other individuals were the workers cleaning up. We tried to get a server to come to our table sooner but wasn't successful. This is my sole opinion but I wasn't over impressed over food.

The whole setup is like a mini food hall with several authentic Chinese spots to choose from--but Chong Qing is where I landed. I ordered the crispy chicken with garlic sauce and swapped the white rice for a side of house lo mein (yes, it's an upcharge, but worth it). Everything came out on real dishes--not to-go boxes--which I loved. You order and pay at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Now let's talk about the food... DELICIOUS. The spice level was just right--flavorful with a nice kick, but not overpowering. If you like it hotter, you can definitely add more heat, but I was perfectly satisfied as is. The lo mein was really good too--veggies were fresh with a nice crisp (those onions and carrots were hitting!), and everything tasted well-balanced. Only small note: I wish there was a little more meat in the dish, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. And let me say this--the portion size is VERY generous. I ate until I was full and still had just as much left to take home, which is always a win in my book. All in all, I'll definitely be back to try more. If you're in Chinatown Market and not sure what to pick, Chong Qing Hot Pot is a solid choice. 4/5 stars for me!
