Years ago, back in 2013ish, we tried this Chinese takeout place because it was nearby. At the time there was an opinionated man taking our order which wasn't a huge deal, just weird, but the food left something to be desired. Fast forward to 2026 and we thought we'd try again because maybe something had changed. Ordered through the online platform, enough so that we could score the free spring rolls. Food arrived super-fast to our delight! Unfortunately, the food wasn't so great. The chicken appetizers were either incredibly overdone, flavorless, or both. The spring rolls were okay. The soup was about 90% white pepper, while the soup crackers were extremely stale and rancid. One of the entrees was incredibly salty; the other was incredibly bland. The appearance of both was very brown with obvious charring (not the good kind). Every dish seemed to share the same particular flavor. The fortune cookies, however, were very fresh, not stale as I'd expected given everything else. Conclusion: I already wasn't a fan in the past, and it seems to have gone downhill from there. Decent szechuan tofu, SUPER rude old white guy. He commented on my (17) and my friend's (also 17) weight, unprompted, after I asked if the spring rolls had eggs. He assumed I was vegan to lose weight (I'm not) and said I looked malnourished and needed to eat meat. Also unprompted. He compared my weight to my friend's (she is thin but taller), saying she was fat/curvy. I can assure you that she is skinnier than he is. He also said he thought that my 17-year-old friend was 12 (after calling her curvy!!!), ALSO unprompted. He continued to make small talk after both of us were just trying to order and leave. We were incredibly civil (I regret being so nice) and I could tell my friend was uncomfortable. After we left, I remembered that I don't have to be nice to assholes, so this review is going to be far from kind. I hope this review can warn someone to never take their daughters here. Old men don't get the societal pressures women face. It's more than just a comment on our weight, it's how society values us as humans. All we are to society is our weight and men like him will never understand how that feels. Call me sensitive, but I'd rather be sensitive than an asshole. It's time to retire. You would be better off going to a chain or supporting a different, surrounding business as many are local and flavorful. In addition, my friend had found hairs in their food, at which point we just threw it away. The place was extremely dirty and smelled strange, like stale water. The service was extremely, extremely poor, and the owner clearly did not want to serve you. I have never fathomed that someone could be so rude, even more so to potential customers. DO NOT ORDER HERE Unfortunately there is no zero rating. The owner loves to argue!! I placed an order online for pick up this evening. I ordered shrimp with lobster sauce ($1.17 for large) with spring roll/soup for $2.95 more, garden veg. chicken ($1.17 large) will spring roll/soup (2.95), 1 more soup and 2 sodas. I used coupon for 4 free spring rolls. I picked up the order and when I got home, all spring rolls and 2 sodas were missing from the bag. When I called, the owner said they do not have online ordering (which I used), insisted the spring rolls were in the bag (they were not) and he said it's my job to get sodas from their cooler. How am I supposed to know this??? He did not tell me this when he handed me the bag and there is no sign. He also saw that I am handicapped and use a cane. My standby American Chinese. I absolutely love this place if I need my Hunan Beef and Hot and Sour soup fix. Their lunch menu is the best bargain around. A good portion of your entree comes with fried rice, soup and a spring roll, all for a measly $8. Besides making it myself, their soup is probably one of the better ones I've had. Editing I wanted to rewrite this because I, too, grew up in a family-owned environment, a gas station. It rubs me the wrong way, having you yell and scream at your child in front of me while I was ordering food. Just from the vibe, I gathered you are a single parent. And I get that it's hard. However, you have a horrible example and public face when you scream at your child for being a little bit loud in front of your customers I'm driving through with a bag full of Chinese food with no silverware. A friendly women greeted us and we ordered the dinner for 3 option for $27. -6 crab wontons ( very bad by the way; no flavor and bad taste overall) - hunan beef -general tso chicken -veggies -combination fried rice Good deal for all that food right ? Took maybe ten min to prepare and we left with the food in hand . Overall the taste wasn't bad, beef was spicy but chicken had a pretty good texture to it. Overall way too salty but most fastfood Chinese seems to be. Fast forward a hour later. Stomach is totally rejecting it. While I have a faster metabolism than most.. I'll have to see if the other ppl that ate the food will disagree with them as well. I've had three bathroom visits in a hour. Not ... how I want to spend my evening . This is, without question, the best Chinese Restaurant in Centreville. We have been coming here for years and it is always great. The Sesame Chicken is a favorite, plus the Chicken Egg Foo Young, and Lo Mein. Their Moo Shi Pork is really good. Great flavor, crispy veggies and good sized pancakes with great sauce. Food always tastes pretty fresh, reallly good portions, fast & free delivery (which seems to be a rarity in this area) and overall consistent quality. My favorite part is that the dishes with veggies have lots of really large pieces of veggies that seem to actually be chopped and cooked that day. Not something that's been sitting in sauce for days or out of a frozen mix. I couldn't give the fifth star because a couple things: the dumplings seem to have a lot of dough and tend to be on the greasy side. Also meats can be a little chewy. This hole in the wall Chinese restaurant is the best take-out you can ever get. They have the best Wings, Kung-Pao chicken, Beef and Broccoli, spring rolls and pork spare ribs!! I haven't tried most things on the menu, but they are consistent with what I do order!! Delicious!! The White guy that runs the place is the owner and is actually really nice when you treat him like a human (he pissed me off on the phone once, but I totally get in having been working in food service my whole life), he and his chinese wife run the restaurant and stay super busy!! I order again and another mess up...causes me to have to drive back. Took a break for a while and order again....this one was fine because it was a simple order of lomein and soup. Today I ordered a lunch special and lomein....I ended up getting fried rice. I call and the guy says to me that he entered it wrong and would send the right order out. I have been waiting for over an hour. I call back because I have to leave so I can't wait any longer. The guy tells me this time it's the computers fault. I'll try to keep my post as simple as possible. Shrimp Egg Foo Yung - Standard fare with gravy. Mediocre. Combo Lo Mein - A bit on the greasy side but with more flavor then its local competitors. Crispy Sesame Beef - Thick slices of beef, dry and with most deliveries soggy by the time it arrived. The sauce was equal parts sweet and salty. Beef Broccoli - Standard, thin but wide slices of beef (would probably using a meat tenderizer to soften it up a bit). Sauce was good. Spring Rolls - Tasteless, going to pass next time Crab Rangoon - Delicious! Crispy and not overly fried. Chicken Wings - Surprisingly good. Crispy with a light seasoning. Could have used more but I would be inclined to order these in bulk if they offered it. Conclusion: A slight better in its overall offerings compared to local competitors. There are some that do specific dishes better but I find the general quality is decent here. read more

HORRIBLE customer service and treatment I placed my order online, and the system glitched and apparently my order went through twice (though I only got one confirmation email). When the delivery guy showed up, he claimed that he tried to reach me when the order was doubled, but I had no missed calls, and no messages left on the phone. He then INSISTED that we take both orders and pay for both. My order was nearly 30 bucks, so it ended up being INCREDIBLY expensive. A friend had answered the door, as I was in the restroom when the delivery arrived, so I called the store when I realized I had been charged twice (and gotten twice the food -- something I had NOT ordered), even though I only got 1 confirmation email and everything seemed in order. When I called, the delivery guy answered, and was INCREDIBLY rude to me, he yelled at me, and then hung up on me.I was only asking for the explanation, and was not blaming him or rude to him in anyway -- I was just trying to clarify what happened since I wasn't the one to talk to him at the door. The food is pretty good, but if that is how they treat their customers when there is a mistake on their end, I suggest dining elsewhere. read more

General tzos lo mein szechuan chicken the lo mein was good, average. the General tzos was also good, not amazing BUT the szechuan was terrible. i love chinese and its hard to mess it up for me. Iron stomach and all but there is no way i am going to eat the leftovers, i had 3 bites and just gave up. it was bland and didnt taste like sezchuan at all... i was so dissapointed. read more
