3.5 We came for a private birthday lunch on a Saturday. Lots of free parking and a patio under a tent was closed. We had buffet style charcuterie, pasta, veggies, chicken Parm. I required a vegan gluten free meal and our hosts requested it. They gave me polenta (no cheese), gf pasta in olive oil with mushrooms and a cauliflower steak. My meal was wonderful! There could have been more jugs of water on the tables as I kept going to the bar to refill after the bottles at the table were consumed. Tea and coffee was at the bar. Once the desserts were set out in the same area as the lunch, there were many fruit flies. This was unappetizing. The washrooms could use an upgrade. read more

I happened to have my covid booster shot appointment nearby and was looking for lunch takeout option. I ordered deep fried seafood platter, stuffed mushrooms and pasta. They generally provided decent food quality. The oil they used to deep fry the seafood didn't taste old. Flavour was also fine for this dish. Pasta tasted fresh too. The only thing I didn't like was the stuffed mushrooms. It was undercooked and had bitter taste. Not tasty. read more

Never again!! 30 min just to get a menu.. had to go ask for them. Then again had to chase to order a drink. After an hour took our order. Only half of our order made it out. We were a group of 10. A couple left because they were so hungry and no food came out. Plus portions were ridiculously small.. has seafood risotto.. 4 of the 5 mussels were empty.. horrible service. Horrible portions horrible all around! Never again! read more

I threw a birthday party for my Fiancé and it started off really good however the server thought it would be a good idea to bring everybody's steak well done without asking anybody at the table how they like their steaks all 12 of my guests were shocked... However when I was speaking with the owner joe he kept giving me a run around to the point where he never followed up to explain why this has happened.... Would not go there again or recommend it to anyone.... read more

Absolutely horrible. the place was empty. We asked for Aperol Spritz, no Aperol in stock. We ordered appetizers, they brought them after they brought the main course, and we had to remind them. The lobster bisque is at best a very loose, burnt tasting, dirty water, no bits of lobster in it and very watery brown water, not a hint of lobster flavour. The fried calamari was overcooked and under seasoned. The black risotto (special), looked fabulous in the photo: a generous portion, with 3 glistening, deep fried, breaded jumbo shrimp atop the creamy risotto. It arrived, a tiny portion with a few tiny boiled shrimp. at least the flavour was decent. The pappardelle were actually linguine, we sent them back. They couldn't even get the salad right, most leaves looked half spoiled. Looks like a dying business. Rightfully so. we each paid our own bill. Ours came to a $154 for 2, without wine. I resented paying the bill. I will never go back. read more

Watching it, it reminded me of Shanghai and their clubs with all the lights, and electric music. Immediately I was excited! So I called them and made a reservation on Monday for Friday for 5 people. I got in contact with Alex, the manager, he set us up for Friday and answered any question I had. As this place is very new, there weren't many images or a website set up when I found them, and I was still unsure if they were open due to COVID. But they are open! I informed my girls of this place, they were thrilled and our group quickly turned from 5 to 7. Luckily, I called Leng Keng back asking if I could increase the size of my party & they were able to accommodate me! During our reservation: Coming to the place, the exterior isn't the most attractive setting. But as we looked past it, inside was just like the video that I had seen. It took me back to the time I was out with my expat friends in Shanghai club hopping. Covid protocols: Since we're still in a pandemic, Leng Keng had great protocols emplaced. As we showed our IDs to security, we signed in with our name and phone numbers. Once inside, there were masks & hand sanitizer available at the door. The tables were well distanced and people would stay within their allocated booths. The atmosphere of Leng Keng is extremely beautiful, nothing like I've ever seen in other Toronto bars/lounges/clubs. The lights are constantly moving & changing colours very beautifully as electric music plays in the background. We were greeted by very nice servers that showed us to our table. Once seated, we were able to take in the place more, & my friends were truly impressed by the place. For food we ordered Calamari and French Fries to share. For drinks we ordered Cosmos, Rum & Coke, Margaritas & a couple shots of Vodka. Everything tasted well, besides the Calamari that was slightly too fishy, the Margaritas didn't come with limes or salt on the rim of the cup. Other than that, this place was magnificent & we do believe Leng Keng has great potential in being the next trending spot in Toronto. We will be back soon! Thank you!

I decided to look at the menu, saw the lobster roll, and knew that I needed to order it. I love lobster rolls. I see it on a menu and I must order it. No thought required. Done! There are three COAST locations, all ghost kitchens, in the GTA. One is in downtown Toronto. Another is at the Firkin that I used to frequent at Yonge and Eglinton. The one is Vaughan is the latest addition, which is where I went last night. I placed my order through Uber Eats for pickup: - PEI lobster roll with COAST salad - Crispy COAST shrimp - Crème brûlée cheesecake - Superbowl Sunday special (free COAST fries when your order is $40 or more) The downside is that I got a general location as to where to go to pick up my food. I got to the plaza with Nations grocery store anchoring it. Where do I go next? Well, my prayers were answered when a nice person from COAST called me and said that my order was ready. He let me know that COAST is in The Moose, which is a Firkin pub. Yes, direction! I thanked him and parked closer to the pub. The Moose looks new and modern. It has patio heaters and is open for dining in, as is many eateries in York region now. I was greeted by a nice man. He asked for my order number. I showed it on my phone and he went to fetch my order. I saw this white paper bag with handles on the bar counter. He thanked me and handed it to me. I reciprocated. I could smell the fries through my mask. I was so excited and I headed over to my car. I got home and had dinner. I bought more than I could down, so I have leftovers today that I look forward to having I had a container full of salad. The PEI lobster roll was camouflaged by it. You can choose fries or salad as your side. Considering that I was going for free COAST fries, I settled for salad. I loved how much salad I got. The veggies were crisp and fresh. All I heard was my crunching on them. The salad dressing had balsamic vinegar, but it was subtle and didn't have a ton of sugar. I liked it a lot. My lobster roll was good. The lobster had generous chunks of real lobster in aioli, with chives and seasoning. Yum! The downside was the bun. The brioche bun needed to be softer and perhaps grilled more with butter. It would have made the experience nicer. It was a smaller roll than I had hoped for $20, but I had so much food that it was minor. What surprised me the most were the crispy COAST shrimp. They were super crispy. They had a bit of spice. The baby arugula balanced out the spiciness. I thoroughly enjoyed how crispy the whisper-thin batter coating each shrimp was. Perfection! I got the COAST fries on the house. The fries tasted so homemade, as if I had cut the fries myself, and someone did a better job at deep-frying them. It had Grana Padano cheese that I had never had. It tasted like parmesan, but milder. I loved it with the spicy aioli and chives. I love chives so much. I normally don't enjoy eating fries as a side, but I could do these any day. I have been good lately by not going overboard with desserts. However, I couldn't resist getting the crème brûlée cheesecake. Sadly, my slice got tossed around a tad in the container, so the pointy part of the slice was smashed. However, I ate it all, even with the whipped cream puddle next to it. I enjoyed this cheesecake slice a lot. It wasn't terribly sweet. The berry coulis on top provided a nice tartness and contrast. The crust was thin. The cheesecake was creamy and you could taste the beautiful crème brûlée flavour in each bite. It's a winner! I am eyeing the PEI lobster poutine, and COAST surf and turf burger next. I had a great experience. Prices do run steep, but it's worth treating yourself to fresh seafood and ingredients. (114)
