Put in an order for 100+ donuts on Easter last minute. They were very accommodating and the donuts were fresh and everyone loved them! I don't usually like the standard cake donut but they make a good one. They also make delicious custard filled cream puffs. Every shop has their hits and duds. Also keep in mind donuts are usually made in the early morning and if you want the freshest get it before noon. I've even had stale donuts at Krispy Kreme so know when to buy! read more

The oiliest donut i have ever eaten, got here 6:30 so donuts should be fresh for morning service yet it was oily beyond belief. When i had bit in, i was hit with a burst of oil. It was crunchy like a potato chip, worst donut. if your thinking of visiting for a fresh donut, don't. read more

I would give this doughnut shop a 3.5*. I ordered an old-fashioned and a bear claw. I enjoyed both and I would definitely return to this doughnut shop. It also offers far better treats than the chain coffee store in the same strip mall. The counter person was very nice and helpful. read more

Doesn't take any kind of cards neither a big bill so you kind of have to go to ralphs next door and get a small cash..with it being 12 noon I would think they had some kind of change already from other customers & they didn't even have one simple glazed donuts with chocolate on top...I wonder what they do all day?eat all the donuts themselves? But with taste, since you were already at ralphs, stay and buy the donuts in there instead..donuts ain't even that good especially not worth it with all the hassle they'll put you through..who carries cash nowadays? & what business doesn't own a credit card machine? Hello, my name is Brian and I'm a donutaholic. It's been 5 days since I had my last donut. I confess that I had donuts last Sunday morning at Fostar's with my 2-yr old daughter. This place is a nice little shop with lots of typical donut shop variety donuts, but those little custard filled things sprinkled with powdered sugar and a dollop of chocolate on top right next to the counter are like crack. My daughter has already started down the donut path of destruction. She loved her rainbow sprinkled donut hole. Inexpensive, skimpy on the napkins, only accepts cash and only two tables inside but ample seating outside, it's worth stopping by if you are in the area and can control yourself. Very popular on a Sunday morning with Starbucks next door. I'm doing my best to complete the 12 step program but can't get past more than 1 month of donut sobriety before falling off the wagon. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing, but the maple bar was very dry. It was a struggle to chew and eat. Also, it tasted very yeasty, so the bread tasted fermented a bit. We didn't even finish it. read more

This used to be such an amazing Donut shop when it was Fosters Donuts...now it's Fostar's...I think the new owners couldn't afford a new full sign so they just replaced the o with an a. Minus 0000. First experience...walked in and the baker person was spraying all the glass counters with Windex, eewww! The odor was so bad and wet that I was pretty sure all the baked goods had this crap on them. The next I saw was bugs! Flys and gnats everywhere! Grossed out. Looked around further and the floors were filthy. I'm pretty sure if you ate one of these pastries you'd get sick! The Board of Health should really check this place out and cite them. Worst doughnut I've ever had. It didn't look burnt, but it was really crispy, so it crunched when I bit it. Worst thing though was that it left me with a sick feeling in my stomach for the next 3 hours. a good little mom-n-pop (more so mom, haven't seen pop yet) donut shop right next to the Starbucks. I stop by every time I'm near the place for a couple of the cream cheese donuts. I have never seen this particular filling anywhere else. Very good tasting items, best around. Inexpensive compared to other donut places. Highly recommended. read more

I just moved in town and I have been to this donut shop twice now once in the late afternoon and now in the morning. Both times I got donuts from this place their donuts were on the stale side or have been left out for too long. I thought maybe going back in the morning they would have some fresh donuts but not a chance. I would much rather wait I the long line at Rolling Pin or travel a little further and go to Kim's donuts. I do not recommend this place. read more

I got two glazed twists and they were amazing, I went in at 2Pm so they weren't fresh, but were soft and pretty much melted in my mouth. Im honestly flabbergasted by the amount of stupidity in a few of these reviews. 1) Please tell me, what do you use to clean windows? FUCKING WINDEX. How is it disguisting to use cleaning products to clean the window that displays the food? 2) Giving a place low reviews because they didn't 'surprise you' with outrageous different donuts, is just idiotic. Review a donut shop on the damn donuts, not on the fact they are 'too simple' for your fancy $1.(Huge difference with them only having a few donuts, that does deserve few stars) 3) The floors weren't sprinkling clean? Are eating on the floor? Seriously?! Get real, when you walk into a place, your feet track in dirt. If there were a star rating of negative stars, I would happily choose that as my rating for Fostar's. I asked my son to pick up a couple of dozen donuts and take them to my husband's office in Ventura in celebration of my husband's birthday. He ordered, paid for, and took the two dozen donuts. Once at the office, everyone was treated to day old (at least) donuts that were deemed so stale as to be inedible. By the way, apparently my son has been a customer of theirs for quite a while, so he did not think it would be an issue when he went back the next morning and told them of the stale donuts he received. They didn't offer to replace or refund his money , basically told him there was nothing they could do. If they were owners,reprehensible, if they were employees and did not either call the owners or get my son's information so they could try to save a customer from taking his business elsewhere, well that is a good indicator of Fostar's level of business integrity. Needless to say, we will never set foot in Fostar's again. Truth be told, I was surprised that he had gone to Fostar's to buy the donuts. I've had their donuts on occasion and thought them heavy and chemically tasting. Needless to say, I give Fostar's negative stars. Way to be a good neighborly business owner !!! read more

What a rip off! I had never been to this business but wanted to bring donuts to my friend in the morning. I ordered a dozen donuts, and proceeded to pick them out. I thought it was strange that when I ordered a donut, the woman went to the back of the business. AFTER I got home I realized why! They were giving me day old, STALE donuts! I paid full price for fresh donuts! IF you are hair brained enough to find yourself at this place, TELL the workers to give you FRESH donuts from the donut case...NOT to wander in the back.
