Justin had been servicing our home many years before we bought it so he was familiar with the systems. When it was time for Springtime annual maintenance he found the 22 year old air con unit was low on refrigerant and had a slow leak. Instead of trying to sell me an expensive repair or a new unit he suggested trying a little stop leak. That was 18 months ago. I have been using Foster Mechanical for nearly 30 years. They are honest, professional, and they won't try to upsell you once they get to your home. Todays HVAC systems might last 10 years if you're lucky. They will always try to fix what's there first at a reasonable cost. It's unbelievable how many companies train their employees in sales as opposed to fixing. When it comes to your A/C, always shop and compare. They are almost always significantly lower priced for the same unit. Somebody's got to pay for that TV ad! read more

We could not have asked for better service. Our heat pump was installed the next day after it was diagnosed as being non-functional. Justin did a great job with the install. First of all, this is the best HVAC place in Phoenix. Don't trust just any old company! Kim Foster is the KING of fair and will treat you with respect. He won't lie to you and I'll come right out and say it: I love this guy! I had the company our home warranty made us call when our A/C went kapput this summer come out because we HAD to use them. The minute that the guy said it wasn't covered under the warranty I thought: GREAT! He came in and told me what type of unit he'd recommend and how much it would be but of course, there was a more expensive unit which would be better and he'd give me such a deal on it. Um, right. I asked him questions about how long the business had been around, how long he'd worked for them..........specific questions about the units he was recommending, etc. Then I told him I'd get back with him....and I called Foster Mechanical. Currently, it's hard to find Foster. They have no website.......no real web presence (which I'm trying to get them to change!) but they are worth giving a call! Kim came out and spent almost three hours up on my roof checking every thing out thoroughly. Then he came in and chatted with me. He told me everything that was wrong, why the machine couldn't be fixed, the unit he recommended and why (drawing me pictures to illustrate what he meant) and told me that we had a two pronged issue: One was the unit and one was the duct work. He walked me through everything and made sure I understood everything he spoke of. Now, he's done work all over the 55+ community my folks live in and he never charges an unfair amount. He came in significantly UNDER what the warranty guy quoted me for more work and a better unit. He is very matter of fact and knows his stuff. His guys are very professional and thoughtful. They did everything they said they'd do and it was done quickly. I trust them and highly recommend them. I'm even going to try talking him into getting some social media going! This company came highly recommended and after using them I will highly recommend them. We had suspected another company we had come out to do a "check" did something to our unit and after Foster Mechanical told us what they found, we will never use the other company again, only Foster Mechanical. They were here to fix our A/C the next day, here when they said they would be, fixed the problem, and quoted us a price, when we might need a new a/c but definitely not right now like the other company tried to sell us one, there price was half the price of this other company and for a larger unit. We called Foster today, as our AC went out the previous evening. We called when they opened at 730 the next morning, and Justin was at our house by 10. He fixed the unit, which needed a new compressor, and spent a couple hours cleaning and checking it and our other unit out. The price was very reasonable. We will be using them for our annual service from now on. I would highly recommend them. read more

Wow , very impressed. My furnace pilot light was not working properly during the cold Jan temperatures we recently experienced and when I called a few other repair sites I was advised it would be 2 - 3 days before they could make a house call. A neighbour told me to try Foster Mechanical and although they made no promises as they were equally busy they still managed to come buy late the same day of my call. Although the old unit had issues they were still able to bring my 40 year old park model coleman furnance back to life. We live in California and have a rental property in Avondale. It was time for a check-up and/or service on the a/c unit. Our tenants called a local place, not Fosters, and paid $40 for that service and then contacted us with a laundry list of repairs this company was recommending. Hundreds of dollars were going to be needed, and if you believed what they said, not only was our a/c unit on it's last leg, but the ducting in our house needed to be re-routed, among other things! Even showing our tenants pictures of the "coil" with the massive amount of dirt, etc... Having been down the road with not-so-reliable contractors before, we decided to get another estimate. I mean, even if we had to pay another inspection fee, it would still be beneficial to get a 2nd opinion. I contacted my brother, who is in construction and also lives in the Phoenix area to see if he could recommend someone. Without hesitation he said, "I'd contact Foster Mechanical. They've always treated us well.". Even with his recommendation, the first thing I attempted to do is find their website. To my disappointment, there wasn't one. I like to peruse a company's website to kind of get a feel for them. I did not let that discourage me so I contacted them anyway. Right from the beginning, I felt at ease. We called at a time which I would consider "after hours" but the phone was answered nonetheless. I spoke with Shannon who not only had an amazing amount of knowledge of the a/c business, but also of the trials and tribulations the average consumer has to go through with those other "contactors" (if you want to call them that). She knew all too well how difficult it is to find a GOOD contractor, especially with us being out of State owners. The inspection was performed this morning and we were prepared for the worst, but hoped for the best. After the inspection was finished, Justin contacted me right away to explain exactly what he found but more importantly what he did NOT find. He did NOT find a huge build up of dirt on the coils in the unit in the attic. In fact, he found that the panel on the unit had a slight layer of dust that had not been disturbed. This means the previous company never took the panel off, which means they never even saw the coils and that picture that was shown to our tenants was not a picture of OUR equipment. This is disturbing on so many levels. And, Justin had no problem putting that in writing. Sure, there was a couple of things that needed attention, which was not only understandable but reasonably priced. Justin had the parts to take care of it right then and there which means it did not require a return trip or additional costs. Being very pleased with the service, I contacted their office to pay for the services and again spoke with a very outgoing, pleasant gentleman (I didn't catch his name). We definitely had a very positive experience, so much so that my husband has inquired about additional services from them. Give them a shot. You will not be disappointed! read more

I used Foster mechanical about 11 years ago when our gas pack a/c/furnace developed a crack in the furnace section. Goettel would not stand behind their product, so I searched for a different replacement. Foster gave me the best estimate. Kim explained the choices to be made and the level of quality we would be buying. Installation web smoothly. We have used them ever since for preseason checkups. They were more expensive than the discounted advertisements you see. My experience with those companies in the past was that they would try to sell extra cleaning type services that are not really needed. Foster's techs would let me watch and explain what they were checking. I recall only once or twice that they thought a new part should be used. I thought they were always fair and clear in their communication and showing up for appointments. Now I have moved and my home warranty company keeps sending sketchy companies for service.
