A part of Hanger Co now my son has been requiring orthotics for over fifteen years now. We've been to the FV and Orange office and have always had really good service from the technician. They always see what needs to be done and usually fixes it on the first try. If not the first time they readjust and make sure my son is comfortable before leaving. Firstly, I have been to other fountain orthotics, that is how I can say this specific one is better than the other ones I've been to. I use a walker, and they prop open the door for me to get in. I have a brain injury, so my dates for appointments get mixed up in my head. The front desk let me know that I did come in on the wrong day, but went out of their way and asked the person would be able to see me. They made time just so that I would be able to receive, my much needed knee braces, that they remeasured, from the other fountain orthotics mistake. I was fitted and adjustments were made to have the braces fit me comfortably. I was pleased with the relief from the pain pressure was causing. Again, I started to the front desk to sign a few papers. Once that was completed, I walked straight out the door. As I turned back I noticed the door was once again opened so I didn't have to try juggling my walker and opening the door myself. read more

The office staff is unorganized! They told us over the phone that they would have us come in after the knee brace was approved by insurance. They called us and told us to come in to pick up and get fitted for the brace. However, when we arrived they told us it wasn't approved yet! They wasted our time on the first visit and we had already waited several weeks from the first call to hear back from them regarding the approval. We had to call them again one week after our first appointment to see if they received the approval but they hadn't. They told us to call the insurance company, so we did and it was approved! They just hadn't taken the time to follow up. We called Fountain Orthotics and gave them the approval number. They called us back the next day to come by to pick up the brace any day before 5pm. When we went in, they didn't attend to us in timely manner and there was only one other patient in the waiting room. Once they acknowledged us, it took them another 20 minutes to find and give us the brace. We will do our best not to use this company again. In fact, we had asked how much the brace would cost if we paid cash and they were charging us $145. We checked on Amazon for the exact same brand and type of brace and found it for $60. read more

The staff is super friendly and the best part was whenever I emailed for help or concerns, Dr. Al responded within the day and addressed all my questions. So I just picked up my inserts for my shoes and the inserts don't fit my tennis shoes that I wear on a daily basis. The inserts smell, not only is there an arch in the inserts which I have no arch and they spelled my last name wrong. The inserts are too long and big. I wear a size 6.5 and you would think that if your being fitted for orthotics or inserts that when they measure your feet that the orthotics or inserts are going to be received as the same size as what your shoe is and not any size bigger. This was a waste of my time and gas to go and pick up my inserts. This should be rated at a zero. The people that work at the orange branch do not how to run the right right and are idiots. They are not professional and they that it's a joke. I want to let everyone know not to go to this company and to choose a different company to get your orthotics or inserts instead of this company. read more

We were referred by Kaiser for my daughter's helmet therapy. She had bad stranger danger but Al was super patient every time. I felt so bad for him! I was referred here by my insurance for a post surgery knee brace (ACL reconstruction). I went in the first time for measurements, about 2 weeks later they called me back saying they took the wrong measurements and needed to do it again. I received my brace, was not told that my insurance was not covering the cost. Anyways, the day of my surgery the Dr tells me that it's the wrong type of brace, that it's not the one he requested. He had to give me a new brace for after the surgery. Then last week I receive a call from this place telling me that I need to pay for that brace because my insurance didnt cover it. My insurance didnt cover it because they gave me the wrong brace!! read more

I was referred here by my surgeon before my shoulder surgery to get a sling/brace I would need. The people were very nice and the young man that worked with me was professional and was able to fit my sling quickly. The sling/brace I received was high quality and fit me comfortably for the 3 weeks I needed to wear it. The reason I gave the office only 3 stars is because they charged me a $30 co-pay. They claim they are a specialist and charge the specialist co-pay. I have gotten orthopedic equipment at other offices and have never been charged a co-pay. April 9, 2016 UPDATE: A couple weeks ago, I got a phone call from a lady in Billing at Fountain Orthotics Prosthetics. She said she had read my Yelp review and checked the records and I was right! I should not have been charged the $30 copay and she said she was sending me a full refund! I received the check today. I told her I would update my Yelp review with this information because her checking into this and refunding my money was excellent customer service! She said that is not why she was doing it but did appreciate my offer to update Yelp. I am now giving this business 5 stars! read more

Since I never made it to their store, this is strictly about the poor customer service, rudeness, and I would even say some mild combativeness. I was told their last walk-in appt times are 11:30am before lunch and 4:30pm. They told me twice to make sure I understood. I needed a boot immediately because just out of cast for broken ankle. I live in Mission Vieijo, and was told to go to their Orange, CA office rather the one in Mission Viejo for some reason but that's not their fault. What is their fault, my GPS said heavy traffic and that it would make me 7 mins late. I called them, asked if they could still take me. They put me on hold to check for what I consider a long time. When someone answered, they said this is (whatever her name), can I help you? So that very long hold was for nothing, and I was already a 1/3rd of the way there in traffic on freeway. I repeated what my question was, was told she would have to check, and once again, put on a long hold. Finally, again, my name is ___, can I help you? I became a little more aggressive at this point because I just wanted to know if they will take me. This woman said 'no', because the last walk in time is 4pm, and we already made an exception to see you at 4:30. Have no idea what she was talking about, I didn't make an appt, just went by their 4:30 deadline. Horrible woman. I told her I would be reporting my experience with the ortho, she said that's ok, I'm going to call him too. In the meantime, nothing to support ankle over the weekend. Now Monday, trying to make appt with their location where I live. Outgoing message said they'll return my call within 24 hrs. Oh well, hoping for the bests. read more

Very unprofessional and extremely unorganized. Office decided to call my 15 year old daughter to let her know her knee braces were in but not her parents. After continually trying to make appointments with this office they decided to give my daughters braces to another patient. When we showed up for a scheduled appointment we told, after waiting 90 minutes that our product was not there. Why no call prior to us coming? Too boot the product is now on back order. Horrible! Referred here by surgeon to get a brace for son who had torn MCL and PCL. The surgeons office called Fountain Orthotics to verify they had the brace available. We went directly there. Employee found a Brace but it was the wrong size, so he said he had to order. Should be in the next day and that he would call. Received no call so I called the next day. Still no brace. Called again Monday. Was told it would be Wednesday and the office would call when it arrived. I had to call for a third time. This office does not have it together and I would never recommend it. read more

I went in to the Fountain Orthotics office with a prescription for Diabetic shoes from my Podiatrist. I was seen by Ryan Siegel who said that he would order the shoes and that they would arrive within 30 days. I told him that I was leaving town in 45 days and I needed my shoes before I left. He said "No problem". 31 days later I called the office to see if my shoes had arrived. I spoke to Sophia who said that they still had to speak to my Primary Care doctor to verify that I really had Diabetes and was entitled to these shoes. It didn't matter that I already had a prescription from my Podiatrist and had been wearing diabetic shoes for the past 3 years. I asked her if my shoes had been ordered yet, and she told me "NO". So, for 31 days no one had ordered the shoes, tried to talk to my doctor for more information, or done anything to make sure that I had my Diabetic shoes. I told her that this had been a "gigantic waste of my time", and I cancelled my order. I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY to anyone!!! read more

I rolled my ankle and went to see my orthopedic doctor. It was a sprain not a break so I needed ankle support like an air cast. The ones at my doctor's office were a little big in the foot for me and they didn't have any child sizes on hand. While in the exam room with me the nurse called Fountain Orthotics to see if they had the child sizes. I was told to just go down to their office so I could try on the child size and the adult size again and take which ever one fit better. The issue was again my doctor's office not having the correct size on hand. I get to Fountain OP and they want a $30 co-pay. I told Vanessa I was not paying another co-pay. If the ankle support in the Dr. office had worked I would have taken it and they told me I was to simply come down here and pick one up. Vanessa had no idea what I was talking about and it actually wasn't until I walked out in a near rage that all 4 employees were able to figure out who the nurse at my orthopedic office spoke with. So she puts me in an exam room where someone named Brad came in. He did not examine my foot but told me he would be right back. After about 15 minutes another office girl came in to discuss my insurance and the co-pay. By this time I have wasted 30 minutes at Fountain OP and it is now noon. I reiterated that I was not going to give them $81 which she said was the cost when had I taken the brace at my doctor I wouldn't had to pay any additional money at time of service. I tried to call my doctor's office in the hopes I could just go back there and pick up the brace I tried on that was a little big but again it was noon and they are out to lunch. In short, this place has zero professionalism. The employees I encountered appear to have not even graduated high school. And they obviously were trying to price gouge and frankly scam the insurance company out of more money. Blue Cross/Blue Shield will be getting a call from me this afternoon as well so I can make them privy to the situation. read more

The office is a little strange because it has this weird smell and the treatment rooms look like they haven't been updated in 30 years, but don't let this deter you. The staff and specialists are the best. We worked with Jonathan Oh, the orthotist. He worked with our little boy's cranial helmet and always answered all our questions in a very helpful way. This time someone answered. Twice during the conversation she put me on hold with no warning, once while I was talking. Then the insurance issues... Was seen by Geoff Balkman. He was helpful and honest. First I was told I was in need of an air brace for an ankle injury and would take 5-7 working days. (I'd have to hop around for a week?!) then a call came surprisingly early and I was told I had to come in to be fitted for said air brace. Fitted? Why? Can't they go by shoe size? So I rushed over then had to pay $45 co-pay which I did bc I was told I NEEDED this. Geoff was kind enough not to just shove me out the door with a sub-quality brace (and pay $20 more) and because I had purchased a better one already ($45 to help me thru that week wait), he helped me get my co-pay back bc essentially this whole 5-minute visit was unneeded and a waste of time. Went in for a knee brace and the staff was very professional and the office was clean. They were able to check me in and verify my coverage pretty quickly. The orthotist was nice, patient, and understanding to my needs. He made sure I was comfortable with the brace before I left and gave me clear easy to understand instructions. I received a prescription for a back brace from my orthopedic doctor, which I needed to get quickly for school. They recommended going to this company to get the brace. I showed up at their location in Orange thinking this would be a medical supply type of store. It turns out to be an office that requires an appointment, which I obviously didn't have. After explaining my situation, they took my insurance card and ID and were able to verify my insurance would cover the brace and the appointment - all in about 15 minutes. Then I was told that they would be able to see me right then! I was measured and one co-payment later I walked out of there with my brace! This is a company with pleasant people that will go above and beyond to try to accomodate your needs. read more

My experience was with the Newport Beach office. The pluses are they get you in right away and out very quickly. Now my experience... the day I was to pick up my order they called me 3 hours before my appointment to tell me that my insurance would not pay on this item. I told Michelle that I had an authorization for services. She said this was from my medical group not my insurance and I would have to pay for it myself. I did not have my authorization with me so I went ahead and cash paid for half the cost. I came home and looked up my authorization that I had gotten in the mail. It said I was covered by my insurance and authorized to get these items. So I called Michelle two days later and told her. She insisted my insurance still would not pay and she refused to bill my insurance. I had to call my Medical group and then my insurance company and was told that the insurance company would pay if Fountain Orthotics submit the bill. My insurance company had to call Fountain Orthotics and request that they send the bill. Please don't accept insurance information from this company, be very careful if they tell you that your insurance wont pay, or you have a copay that you think you shouldn't have. This company is very unethical when it comes to YOUR MONEY. Make sure you know that your Medical group does not give authorization without first making sure the insurance company will pay. (I was given this information from my Medical Group as they were informing me that Michelle was wrong). So now I am waiting to see if they will submit the bill and also hoping they will reimburse me for what I paid them. To be continued when this is resolved. read more

I took my child to Fountain O&P for her braces. We were seen by Tom Dolan.Tom is professional and very nice. Tom informed me that the braces would be done 2-3 wks after approval frm insurance. The following day I rec'd a call frm Leslie. She went over my ins coverage and help me understand things in detail. A wk later, I rec'd a call from Leslie informing me that both my insurance's had approved my daughter braces. She went above n beyond to get the approval's necessary(as we were previously denied n told we had NO coverage @ another Orthotic fac) I was losing hope w/our ins co covering my daughters braces. It's good to know there is knowledgable ppl working in the medical industry willing to go that extra mile for their patients.N regards to the office staff, all of the ladies are great, but Leslie is exceptionally awesome.She's helped me 90% of the time.
