Ate their for the 1st time when we found a buy one dinner get one free coupon, the coupon is really only good for 12.95 so it's not a free meal as nothing for dinner is priced that low. I ordered the shrimp scampi and wife had walnut salmon. The shrimp scampi was the worse meal I had eaten out in a long time and my wife did not think the salmon was that good as well. My Fiancé and I have been here a few times. We recently went this past Valentines Day. I wasn't overly impressed each of the other times I have been here. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. The stuffing tasted very mayonnaise-y and had old seafood taste to them. Not good. For dinner I got an array of shellfish (clams, shrimp, scallops, mussels) serve over pasta in a spicy cream sauce. I asked for a vodka sauce instead since I can't eat spicy food. What came out was NOT a vodka sauce. It seems they just watered down the red sauce and added a touch of cream to give it it's light Pink color. The spaghetti tasted like it was right from the box and the fish taste like it was from a frozen bag, not fresh. He got the same thing but with the spicy sauce and said the same thing. The service left little to be desired as well. It seemed they only had one gentleman waiting on all the tables so needless to say, there was no way he could be attentive to everyone. I asked a girl for a refill on my water and I figured by the smile and nod she gave, she heard me. After 15min of waiting for my water, I finally flagged down our busy server, who then had to reiterate to the girl I had asked for water, to get me water in SPANISH. Mediocre food and service - not worth the money or your time. Thought the menu looked interesting online so we decided to try out the food. Ordered the Clams Casino, Filet Mignon and Prime Rib. Clams came out right away, not bad they were fresh, but they were a little soupy (yes soupy). Salad followed soon there after, very fresh and dressings were okay. Thing went down hill from there. It became obvious the waitstaff was overwhelmed by the number of tables and we were soon wondering if we were ever going to get our meal. Well when it came out, the Filet, which was ordered medium was grey and well done. The Prime Rib was a joke. Ordered a 22oz king cut and this thing looked like it was put on my plate as an afterthought. First, the cut was only about 1/2 inch on one side and sliver thin on the other. To top that off they actually tried to tuck in a old bone next the thin side of the meat to pass it off. We sent it all back. They were very apologetic removed the orders from the bill and we left. Service was borderline at best, food was just OK and the worst part is one of the ladies had a gift certificate that the owner deemed "expired" despite no expiration date listed. My husband and I got a reservation for tonight at 7:30pm. I went in to confirm my reservation while my husband tried to park the car. I waited 10 minutes and no one came to the hostess station to seat me. Another couple came in and the husband went to the service station to complain and was seated as were my husband and I. The server told us he'd be back oh and they were short staffed and there was no hostess! my husband was reading the menu as I looked around the dining room and began seeing people leaving saying they waited for their meals and we're still not served. The couple behind me were complaining to a waitress that they waited 25 minutes for their check. I told my husband "let's go. I'm not waiting. Every table began talking to the next about how long they'd waited and still didn't have their meals. We up and left. I never saw my waiter and we made the right decision. I will never return. My friend and I decided to try something new for lunch so we chose the Fountain Side. We went on a Saturday after Christmas and the place was empty. We ordered a shrimp scampi and a caesar salad with chicken. The waiter came out and gave us some warm bread and took our order. The meal was fine but when we got the bill my meal was $2 more than what the menu listed and my friends ceasar salad was $1.50 more. When the waiter came back I asked why we were being charged more. I showed him the menu price and he said the menus were wrong as they were not yet updated for the new year. I told him he should honor the price on the menu and he said that is what the new price is. I paid it but I was astounded that this is allowed to occur. I did not ask for the owner because I did not want to occupy him as he was also the chef and there was a large private party in the back room. As a former waitress, I would never charge more than the menu price! Has this happened to anyone else? read more

We ate here last night and were one of only 3 tables occupied in the whole place. Our servers were warm and friendly. We expected an excellent meal to follow. Sadly, the bread was about the only item thoroughly enjoyed. I had the onion soup instead of the soup of the day. The taste was just ok. Instead of a slice of bread in the bowl it was filled with bread so that hardly any liquid was left. My companion had a limp version of Caesar Salad. Both up charges, $5 per item, were quite high, especially with the size of the salad. My broiled combination was over cooked and tasteless. The other entree, Veal Fireside was just ok. I thought it had little flavor. Finally, at the end of the meal, when asked about taking home leftovers, I informed our server of my feelings about the meal. She said if I told her earlier she would have replaced it. Of course we were never asked earlier in the meal how everything was. She did inform the chef /owner who did absolutely nothing to compensate us. We paid the overpriced tab and promised ourselves we will never go back. It's a shame to treat customers this way, especially with the place so empty. Perhaps this is why! read more

13 of us went out to dinner at 6pm. The waitress didn't take our order until 7....after we complained. By 8pm they just began bringing out the food. The manager never came out to apologize. Plus they got my order wrong then they got it wrong a second time. I ordered a 10 oz steak, it was at most a 6 oz. I've never had such bad service in my life. Went here last night with a groupon. The first thing that I noticed was the filthy glasses and silverware. The waitress noticed right away without being told and removed them. There was one table just finishing as we entered. Then it was just the two of us. We ordered stuffed shrimp which smelled bad and chicken parmesan, which was old, dried out and impossible to eat. The side vegetables were fine, but the roasted potatoes were rock hard and old. There was no background music. It was quite awkward being the only guests. We ate next to nothing, did not pack anything to take home, and nothing was taken off of our bill. The salad was fine and the bread was ok. The waitress seemed anxious at the thought of getting us change for a $20 for her tip. I guess she makes no money there. All in all, I will never go there again. Terrible read more

What an exceptional place. A friend of mine recommended it to me as I stopped by Horsham for a visit and I must say, coming from someone who travels frequently, this is my top choice. As soon as you walk in, you can feel the welcoming ambiance and friendly faces that are entailed with the service. The attention given was immediate and comforting. The pace didn't make me feel rushed at all and it was not delayed either-- it was a perfect balance to allow you to have a relaxed fine dining. Out of all of the fine dining restaurants I have been to in urban cities including Los Angeles, Miami and New York, this definitely is one of my number ones. It offers a diverse menu with extraordinary one of a kind dishes ranging from steaks to seafood and the quality of their dishes outshine those who specialize in either. Rarely do the owners walk around and if anyone does it usually just is the manager, but the owner Franco Federico makes sure everything is more than satisfactory. His amicable and very attentive personality is extremely genuine and you can tell his incentive is not solely for business but to truly make sure those who are dining are more than satisfied with their meal and experience. We dine at the Fountainside several times a year with friends who held their wedding reception in the back room in 1999. The decor has not changed since then but honestly it is not the ambiance that brings us back, but the food. The bread is supplied by the pizza restaurant in the same strip mall and is excellent, served warm. The food is wonderful. The menu offers something for every taste and there are always inventive specials available. The entrees are pricier than you would expect based on the location but they come with your choice of a soup or a salad and the ingredients used are top quality. Presentation is always attractive and the portions are generous. The service is low-key but very accommodating with special requests and Franco, the owner, always seems to be on site and working the front of the house. I travel a lot and finding a restaurant where I can take my dinner back to my room and still have it taste good is always a challenge. Tonight I ordered the Tilipia with jumbo lump and it was delicious. There was no shortage of crab meat and the accompanying veggies and stuffed potato were excellent. My wife and I went there Aug. 9, 2016 to celebrate my birthday. The service was fine. The food was substandard. We each had an entrée that featured chicken, (Chicken Marie and Chicken Marsala) I have never experienced chicken that was 'crunchy'. It tasted like crap. My wife's chicken dish was the same. My wife and I went to Fountain Side on Valentine's day, 2015. We chose this place because over a decade ago I proposed to my wife there. We thought it would be a romantic way to start off the evening. We got there and found out that it was a BYOB. I should mention that they were kind enough to offer each of us a complimentary glass of Cabernet Sauvignon or Miscoto. I didn't recall it being a BYOB before, so we left and picked up a bottle of our favorite wine. Whenever a couple came into the place, the woman was given a red rose. Our hostess never gave one to my wife. We started by ordering a fried alligator appetizer, which came out quickly and was terrific. My wife ordered the Broiled Boston Seafood Combination Platter and I ordered Capellini Neptune, but asked them to change the sauce to a Rose sauce. The salads were fresh and crisp. The creamy Italian dressing was wonderful. The main entries were served in an appropriate time-frame. There was no long waiting or rushing to finish the appetizer, so that is a positive. Now for the negatives! My wife's shrimp were so overcooked that they were exceptionally dry and chewy; so bad that she could not eat them. I tried one myself and it was like leather. Just terrible. Her scallops were under-cooked and smelled fishy. The salmon was cooked appropriate and was the best part of her meal. The Clams Casino came with hot peppers in it and the breading was soggy. Overall, her meal on a scale of 1 - 10 was a 2. My meal was not too much better. The shrimp were not murdered like they were in my wife's meal. They were actually cooked well. The scallops were another story. The half cooked, raw and fishy smelling and tasting scallops left me unable to finish them. The Rose sauce was OK, but desperately needed salt. The pasta was cooked to perfection, not under done or over done. Over all, I would give my meal a 3. Anytime you serve under-cooked seafood, you place your customer's health at risk. Since we couldn't finish our dinner, we decided to ask for the desert menu. We sat very close to the desert display, so we saw multiple desserts to chose from. Our server brought over a tray with several kinds of complimentary desserts that the restaurant selected for Valentine's Day. The small shared desert was ok, but we really wanted to select from what was available in the display, so we were a little disappointed. I should note that we were probably lucky that we didn't get something out of the desert display, as the display glass was filthy, with run and streaks from food dripping down. The display also had Hersey strawberry sauce and partially used icing tubes, which should not be in a display for your customers to see. The meal, in my opinion, was a disaster. I would not recommend this place without them making major changes to the chefs and major cleaning. I will say that our server was an excellent waiter. I never blame bad food on the wait staff. I gave him a 30% tip because the bad food and dirty display were not his fault. read more

I had a $25 gift certificate purchased at Restaurant.com. Went on a Tuesday night, not busy. The decor is a little dated and the chairs are not comfortable. No liquor license so BYOB. They have an extensive menu but are pricey. The stuffed mushrooms for $10.95 were small stuffed with lump crab meat, not crab imperial as listed on the menu. I had the Broiled Seafood Combo ($26.35) and my wife had the Seafood Valentino ($26.95) While the food quality was good & the portions were decent they did cut corners. The shrimp were small and it appeared that they cut the scallops in half giving the illusion you were getting more. Your dinner comes with soup or salad and a potato & vegetable. Side vegetables are available but pricey. (Asparagus & Broccoli Rabe $7.65 each) On the plus side I had no complaints about the food quality or service. The negative would be the over priced menu items. The check came to $85.00 with no alcohol. This included an automatic 20% gratuity because I used the Restaurant.com gift certificate. The net check after using the gift certificate was $60.00. I would recommend them because the food was good but you don't get a lot for your money. read more

Went to Fountainside on Thanksgiving, and it will be the last time for me. Service was ok, they were not busy at all; yet we waited 45 minutes for dinner. Food was over priced for what you get, I ordered scallops, 6 little scallops on this huge plate; was told the sides were vegetable medley and baby roasted potatoes-the sides arrived and it was mashed potatoes and broccoli, which do not go with scallops. We were not offered any explanation why we did not get what we were told they had(our waiter had checked with the chef). My bother had a special to the tune of $31.00, sea bass; which was full of bones, that was really disgusting. We should have spoke up but after all it was Thansksgiving, we did not wan to complain. All in all, it was a big disappointment to chose Fountainside for Thanksgiving or any other time for that matter. The place has gone down hill, no doubt. The best thing is the bread! There are so many places to eat in Montgomery/Bucks county area, will not be going back to Fountainside. read more

Just came home from eating at Fountain Side and I use the word "Seafood" reluctantly. The food was HORRIBLE!! Every Seafood item we tasted was terribly bland with a rough frozen texture, although the chef argued that everything we'd ordered other than my $40.00 Frozen 6oz Lobster tails was fresh. I should've known something was wrong when I looked around the restaurant and saw that my daughter and I were the (only) patrons on a nice Sunday evening. I joked to my daughter that I'd rented out the entire restaurant for her but the joke was on us with the Poorest quality Seafood we've Ever tasted. Once we left, I offered to take my daughter to another restaurant since we were celebrating her job promotion. She just ate a mint to rid her taste buds of the horrible bland taste. Disappointed is putting it mildly. I Will (NEVER) patronize this establishment again, even if the food was being given away for free. read more

Went there with high hopes since we live nearby. It was Valentines Day and they were not booked - should have been a sign since every other restaurant was packed. As others have said the place is old and outdated - but we're willing to overlook that if the food is good. The music playing in the dining room was all static, and loud - so it was very difficult to talk or hear the waiter. We asked if they would just turn it off, our waiter said they are working on it, and "trust me you aren't the first to complain". Still, it stayed on through the whole meal! My tilapia was raw in the middle. Husband's ahi tuna was fishy tasting. None of our vegetables came until we were nearly done eating. The water tasted like perfume, and when we asked the bus person to bring new water, she waved us off (she didn't speak English) - but didn't go get someone who would understand us either. The bill was $150 for 4 people, with no alcohol, no appetizers, no dessert or coffee. We decided to pass on dessert and go to the local yogurt shoppe. We won't be going back. Its a shame, a good seafood restaurant in the area would be great. read more
